Hi, I have installed a COMPLETE and FULL version of Kali Linux on Windows 11 Pro Hyper-V virtual machine with 4GB RAM and 3 CPUs with boot drive encryption however after a virtual machine reboot to boot into Kali Linux for the first thing it asks is my boot drive encryption password and whatever i do i cannot use ANY keyboard inputs/mouse AT all and it sucks i have spend an hour or more installing the damn Kali Linux OS and it just won't respond to my keyboard inputs in Hyper-V console even when i edit the boot grub before booting to remove Quiet/Interface and get a standard Linux boot style with outputs it asks for boot drive encryption again and it just does NOT respond to any of my inputs from my regular usb keyboard at all and my mouse isn't working either nothing works no response i am just hard stuck without the possibility of entering my encryption password at all it sucks *** help me please Thanks

Hey, I recently installed Kali Linux with Windows 10 on dual boot. I have 3 monitors and 2 of them run on a 1650 Super and the other one runs on Vega 8 in the CPU. I use force IGD to make the integrated GPU to power a display. I left the settings same on Kali but only the integrated GPU is running and the other 2 display's are not showing up in the settings on Kali. Thanks.

Hi, I am thinking about multi booting Windows 10 Pro, Ubuntu, Fedora, and Kali Linux. I am planning on having all the Linux distros on their own drive together. I am also only thinking about Ubuntu to learn Linux and then transition to using Fedora and Kali. My question is what would be the dangers and/or draw backs of multi booting and having the Linux distros on their own drive? What concerns should I consider if I want to continue with the multi boot? Everything else who want to say about it? I am also thinking about running MacOs on a Linux VM, however, I am on the fence about it, I just need to get my photos and videos off my phone quickly and effectively (iPhone). Thanks in advance, for the replies and answers.

Hi so i basically started my kali journey yesterday and i've been breaking my head around getting my wifi to work to properly run Wifite but it keeps registering my Wifi as a tethered Ethernet connection (does not even register as ethernet when put in to below settings). Already changed my network settings to bridged adapter, selected the networkcard that runs my laptops wifi(my ethernetport and wifi networkcard are seperatly put as options) ,i've changed the adapter tpye to the PCnet-FAST III because according to google "This virtualized network adapter is supported by almost all guest operating systems that can run on VirtualBox" and then in advanced i changed the set mac to routers mac adres , but i still can't get it to work. that's how i ended up here. kind of sick and tired from all the contradictory video's on youtube they often let u do a lot extra when i feel this should be an easy fix just by selecting the right options according to the system but since i'm basically a noob i can't be sure of nothing. anyone that could help a curious guy out.

Hello everyone, I recently bought an LG 34WK650 in the hopes of using the split screen/dual screen feature on Linux. My issue is that they only support Mac and windows. I have 2 Rasp Pi ( Rpi 3 and Rpi 4, running Kali Linux). I would like to have one Pi on the left and one on the right , split screen, without having to switch the inputs each time. I downloaded barrier which works for sharing keyboard and mice, but I still have to switch inputs each time. Is what I am looking for even possible or is there something remotely possible to be able to "see" both Pi's on the same screen? Thanks for your help!

I am new to Kali Linux, I am trying to learn the basics of Social Engineering attacks in kali and I understand that I should have a port open for these attacks through WAN My question is, Is there another way to phish through WAN without having a port open? Again sorry I am new to all of this ~thanks Below is my original post, any help with that is also good.

I am trying to make portable kali linux build with an orange pi zero (uses the H2 processor, not the H3). The 4 standard linux distros that you can load onto the orange pi zero all come with SSH because there is no AV out on the pi zero, so you have to use SSH. However, I am going to be using Kali which, to my knowledge, doesn't start up an SSH server on the initial boot. My question is, how can I load kali into a VM on my PC, install an SSH server, and set it to start when the system boots, and take that image and put it on an SD card?

So... I tried installing Kali Linux on a separate drive yesterday on my laptop since I wanted to fiddle around with the tools it had but then it was shyt slow. Why? It lags on startup, lags even scrolling on apps. And the worse case it gets stuck on a stop job has started and has a never ending loop. This all doesn't appear on my desktop (My desktop runs fine smooth and has 0 zero issues) but no no not my laptop So I then tried Ubuntu on the laptop. Installed fine went through no problem but then shutting down gets jammed it just freezes and never switches of on the Ubuntu logo with 4 dots. So I'm thinking is it my hardware? Because I'm installing everything on a separate partition I made (Hard drive). Should I try using my ssd instead of hard drive to see a change or am I hopeless because I've heard a lot of new changes on Linux. Welp.. I'll be open to answer any questions that might aid the fix .. Tq

For some reason my wifi dongle can't connect when i quit kali and boot into windows, the wifi dongle shows and tries to connect but says some information has been changed since the last boot into windows, it prompts me to input the passphrase so i do, but it says the same thing and is stuck in a loop. I've tried to do a network reset but that doesn't work, it only fixes itself if i take out the dongle and plug it into a different USB slot, the dongle is USB 2.0 and i normally plug it into my USB 3.0, I've tried to use 2.0 but it still happens, I don't mind unplugging it and plugging it in again, but it gets annoying fast. If someone can help me out here, it'll be much appreciated, Thanks in advance xd. NOTE: I don't put my wifi module into monitor mode in kali, I leave it in managed mode, If u need my chipset, all i can say is its a Realtek chipset, it doesn't show in windows as a specific model, it does in kali tho, ill edit this once i boot into kali again, might not be for a while tho idk. Cheers, ItzTerminal7w7

So I will be showing you guys how to fully set up Kali Linux on a Raspberry Pi 0 w, it is quite simple but I haven’t found a tutorial that shows how to do error free. Requirements: Raspberry Pi 0 w (Duh). a SD card minimum 8gb (Class 10 cards are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!). A micro usb cable (Power only, data transfer wires are not needed but can also be used). A sd card reader for your computer. A computer to ssh into the Pi. Your own router (Public internet connections that require a login like ‘Xfinitywifi’ or a hotels free public WiFi would probably not work). A Computer that could access Wireless Internet. Things that need to be downloaded before starting: balenaEtcher (Used to burn the copy of Kali onto your self card). A img of Kali Linux (Raspberry Pi Foundation > Kali Linux RPi0w Nexmon. Make sure to download this if you’re on a raspberry pi 0 w). Notepad++ (Not sure is sublime would work, I couldn’t find anyway to format it for Unix but I could be oblivious and just not looking hard enough). PuTTY (Any SSH client would work fine but for the sake of the tutorial I will use PuTTY). Bonjour (This will help us ssh into the device, not sure if we need it if it’s over wireless but I’d get it anyways). Step by step: 1. Makes sure you have downloaded and installed everything that I had listed above. 2. Plug in your SD card adapter or put your SD card into your computers built in reader. ***If the SD card has been used before I’d highly recommend to go to dskmgmt and delete all extra partitions and reformat the drive to ensure it’s completely empty so you won’t be running into any issues later on. 3. Open Etcher and click select image and locate your Kali Linux RPi0w Nexmon image. 4. Then click select drive and go ahead and select your SD card as the drive and then click flash. (Can take from 2 to 10 minutes. Time may vary). ***Make sure after it’s done that you give it time to verify all the files, there are times were files can be corrupted while flashing! ***After it’s done flashing and verifying, you might get a prompt saying that your sad card might be broken or corrupt and that you need to format it to view it, please select cancel. 5. Open file explorer, (notice how there are 2 extra drives instead of 1. You’re able to only view 1 without formatting which is the one that we need) Open your boot drive and create a text file called wpa_supplicant.conf (The extension for the text file CANNOT be .txt and MUST be .conf) 6.Open the newly created wpa_supplicant.conf in notepad++ and paste the following in ***Do not make the mistake that I have done and keep WPA-PSK and do not put WPA2-PSK or anything else, keep it the way it is. Even if your security type is WPA2-PSK/Personal 7. Now we are going to enable ssh by default by creating a new text file and naming it ssh, NOW THIS IS IMPORTANT PLEASE DO NOT HAVE ANY EXTENSION ON THIS, NO .TXT OR ANYTHING JUST LEAVE THE EXTENSION BLANK! 8. Now your SD card is ready to be ejected and put in your RPi0w, after the SD card is in, plug the RPi0w into a power source and give it 90 seconds to fully boot up. 9. Now if you could connect your RPi0w to your monitor great! username: root password: toor . After putting in the credentials, type and run this command hostname -I and copy the host name to get your device ready for ssh (it is not needed to ssh your device if you have a monitor but I’d you'd like to keep following) 9 (2). If you do not have a monitor we will have to go an extra step. You could find your RPi0w hostname by going to your routers admin settings (If you don’t know how to do that go here) and look at the devices that are connected and look for a device by the name of “Kali” and copy it’s IP (Mine looks like this 192.1.1.11, this will be different than mine) and this will be used as the hostname 9 (3). If you don’t have a monitor or a router with the admin page accessible to you, you could download this and scan your local network. 10. Go to PuTTY and enter your hostname under hostname and make sure ssh is elected at port 22 and then click connect 11. The username is root and the password is toor Congratulations, you have successfully Sshed into your raspberry pi 0 w but we are not quite done yet 12. Try to run apt-get update in the command line, if this gives you any errors like “failed to fetch archives” don’t worry, first run another command which is ‘ping google.com’ (without quotes) and if you get a response, great! If not then you need to go back and follow the steps again. 12 (2). (This step is intended for people with the error, if you do not have the error proceed to step 13) To fix the “failed to fetch archive” error you will need to run this command (without quotes again) ‘ wget -q -O - https://archive.kali.org/archive-key.asc | apt-key add’ And wait for it to be completely done downloading and all. ***If you do not need GUI and just need Kali for the commandline, great! You’re now done and may proceed to whatever project you were trying to do in the first place, if not, keeping following the steps below. 13. Run this command (once again without quotes) ‘apt-get install xfce4’ it will give you a prompt and just simply press Y 14. After this is done, restart your Pi OPTIONAL: If your desktop is laggy run the following command ‘apt-get install slim’ (without quotes) and a blue screen will appear and just select slim. This will optimize your GUI and making it even lighter for the Pi, so it could process and handle it much better. First boot will be slow but after that it will boot much much faster. Congratulations, you have fully completed this tutorial, if I have missed anything important PLEASE let me know, and if I said anything incorrect also let me know. If you’re having issues, let me know down below and I will get back to you and try to help you through the issue that you are facing. EDIT: I was trying to install firefox-es which kept crashing while launching it, so a good lightweight browser would be midori and to install that is pretty simple just run the following command on the terminal 'sudo apt install midori' EDIT: Screens running on GPIO pins WILL NOT WORK ON KALI LINUX, the drivers only support Ubuntu Mate and Raspbian. Just a heads up.

So recently I have saved up enough for 1 machine that I can just use for programs like folding@home and i heard it works better on linux, mostly cause it uses less ram, therefore saving me money. Just wondering, does linux need to be activated like windows? (I know you dont technically need to activate windows, but I just want to know if you should get a code or something to activate linux) and i will most likely be using Kali, as it'll fit nicely onto my small spare blank 250gb hdd. i probably wont have an ssd in it. It is Debian based I think, which means it should be able to run folding, but if im wrong someone please correct me. also it will be using an oem hp compaq motherboard, which shouldnt be a problem according to my research, but let me know if I am wrong. Thanks!
