My desktop has been randomly freezing occasionally (every few days or week or so). The mouse and gui elements will continue to respond, but anything that interacts with a process, like closing an application or shutting down the device or opening an application will not work, the only way to get out of it, is to force shut down the PC. I have tried resitting the motherboard as well as checking the disks and running other check programs and updating all the drivers, however the issue persists, If you are able to make any suggestions or know what may be causing this, it would be very helpful. In terms of what I have already done: - Ensured Drivers are up to date - Ensured windows is up to date - Run a full antivirus scan on win defender - Optimised and defragmented drives - Run an SFC - Run a check on drives - Resitted the motherboard and cables - Moved SSHD from being in a vertical mounting to a horizontal mounting EDIT: Currently running chkdsk C : /F /R and chkdsk D : /F /R BUILD - OS: Windows 10 Pro Build 19042 64Bit Motherboard: ASUS ROG Crosshair HERO VIII (WIFI) CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700 GPU: AMD Radeon RX6800 (Equivalent to FE) (I know Im surprised I managed to get it too) PSU: Corsair RM850 RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3600MHz (2x16GB) Storage: - Samsung 970 EVO 500GB (BOOT SSD) - Seagate Firecuda 2TB SSHD (2.5") - Seagate Firecuda 520 1TB SSD CPU Cooler: Corsair H115i Pro Case: (If required) NZXT H710i with incl 3x120mm intake fans and 1x140mm exhaust fan Extras: - RGB GPU Bracket - NZXT internal USB extender - NZXT SMART Device Thanks again for any help, and if any more information is needed or you want me to run checks please let me know.

Ahoy! I'm having trouble with my Intel P600 M.2 SSD; It chokes with larger files. (Youtube clip for demonstration and description of problem here - The speed is constantly lower than it should be, but you can see that the progress bar sometimes just stops completely) I found this problem when recording videos. As soon as the file size reached ~25 GB, the SSD would drop down to basically 0 mb/s, leaving me with a file which shows 8 frames per second. At first I thought it was a CPU or codec issue, but I found that the speed drops are comparable with the drive's benchmark inconsistencies. I have tried updating the BIOS, looking for newer firmware, running Intel SSD Toolbox diagnostic (Shown here)... And nothing. Its SMART summary is perfect too (here) Thanks for helping me out, or even just reading!

EVERY SINGLE games I have a massive Frametime issue. My Frametime is very inconsistent causing massive lag / stutters ! Framerate is good, CPU ain't pegged at 100% but it is running at full speed 3.5 Ghz on all Cores no OC It will turbo boost sometimes but not always of course. Every single game is the same, I've tried many solutions so far no fix. I don't know what's the cause. My Framerate most the time are good over 100 - 180 FPS in Doom @ 1440p. But Frametime was horrible, ranging from 30 - 90ms randomly. Sometimes I will just have few second of massive FPS dips....of course it be laggy then. GPU isn't even overheating...GPU Usage seems to be still on 90% - 100% ++ My RAM is at STOCK as well. I'm using Windows 10 64-BIT, I didn't " Daisy Chain " the PSU cable for the GPU either. I had it split by having 2X PCIE cable from PSU to my GPU both individually independently just in case there isn't enough power. These are the solutions I've tried...but no fix 1) Disabled Free Sync 2) Re-roll from 17.8.2 Driver to 17.81 ( But it fixed the video / flash video issue lagging / mouse stutter issue ) 3) Change monitor Refresh Rate to 60hz 4) Disabled Windows Defender, Malware Bytes etc. 5) Disabled / Uninstall all monitoring programs. 6) Tried flipping the BIOS switch on GPU to the other BIOS. 7) Tried playing Fullscreen / Windowed 8) Tried using V-SYNC So far nothing is working...I wonder is this a hardware issue / software.... I worry it maybe my CPU or Mobo or whatever, even RAM maybe ?? I do have my old Fury from my previous PC, maybe I have to test it on this new PC....

Hello, So this is a problem I've had for a while now. No matter what I do, the game is choppy. Everything is rough, stutters during flicks, etc.. Movement not smooth... You get the point. I've done everything that google will provide for me. I've updated realtek drivers (even though I'm using a USB headset that doesn't seem to use realtek), I've set kboost on for my GPU, I've deleted and updated GPU drivers/GFExperience, etc.. I've done a factory reset on CS:GO (deleting the config files and folder). Nothing has fixed the problem. Setup: i7 4790k (No OC and a H60 watercooler) GTX 970 - EVGA SC (No OC... couldn't even get a 10mhz+ out of it without stability issues :/. Nothing special done here. Whines like a mofo though. I use EVGA's precision X to mess with fan-curves and enable kboost. Should be up to date). Asrock z97 Extreme4 Two sticks of 1866 cas 9 4gb ram (so a total of 8gb) Gigabyte something-or-other card for wifi 1TB HDD (Steam and CS:GO is on here. Linux mint is on another partition) 128gb SSD (OS and browser on here) 144hz acer monitor - GN246HL (Yes, I'm using the correct cable). HyperX Cloud II headset G710 Keyboard and G402 mouse from logitect (using logitech's software if that's at all relevant). Can't remember the PSU off the top of my head, but it's a higher-quality EVGA (750w G2 I think?) that had enough power for two 970s if I wanted to upgrade that way. Temperatures are fine. Nothing goes over 70. De-fragged HDD. No viruses or anything like that. This is not an lag issue, it happens on 'self created'/local servers just as much. It's not a tick-rate issue either (128vs64). It's visual stutter, not rubber-banding. It's not major, but its extremely annoying and not pleasent to look at for any length of time (makes my eyes wig out). FPS on Dust_2 on a local DM server with ~9 bots: ~300 FPS. Fluctuates a lot between anywhere from 230 to 380 depending on what's happening and where in the map. Low setting vs high settings don't really change FPS much actually. Right now game is default 16:9 1080p due to factory reset. Before I was playing 4:3 stretched 1080p (so 1440x1080). Given that this machine should rip CS:GO a new one, I feel like the FPS is 'sufficient' but fairly low. Everything is set for the 144hz monitor... So I don't really think there's any f*ckery regarding that. Again, it's not that it's not running at 144hz, it's that it's not at all smooth. When cornering for example, the corner 'stutters' across the screen. Watching 60FPS gameplay videos look far smoother than my game... which is some bullshiet. And no, I'm not talking about the ones with nice visual effects like motion-blur added. Just raw 60fps replays look smoother around corners. Capping FPS or uncapping FPS didn't change anything. Possibly odd thing I noticed, if I cap anywhere from 144-154, FPS just stays at 139-142. If I cap at 144fps, fps hangs around 142. Not sure if this is an issue of just some bug with net_graph. Why would a 970 not be able to keep a game like CS:GO at a stable 144fps? Possible related issues (no reason to believe there's a connection, but I'm not good at this sort of thing besides some common sense and google. Whatever may help.)- Microsoft office lags like a mofo. If I switch windows, sometimes it doesn't fully 'comeback' when I switch back. Lag increases dramatically, menu features don't display correctly (though I can usually use them 'like they're there'), top of window is greyed out like it's not the active window, etc. I haven't really bothered finding a solution for this yet and no idea if it's related at all. Minecraft of all things had a low fps. I've seen potatoes run it at 900+ fps. I was only getting ~200-300 (vanilla). Optifine helped, but it was till <450. Absolutely anything is appreciated here. It's been wreckin' my head for a while now. I don't like getting headaches during warmup when I'm used to getting them playing with russians (/s) -edit- Here are some pics I got. Taken via Iphone's slomotion then screencapped. From what I can tell, it's like multiple frames are 'blended' into one. No settings (max_fps, v-sync, etc.) changed this (though lower FPS resulted in it being 'worse'). This + my own after-image issues = my headaches recently

So I have NewWave, basically the only high speed internet solution in my area. I have the basic package, 100 mbps down, 10 mbps up. Here’s the issue, normally when playin online games I have no issues. My latency is typically between 20 ms and 80 ms depending on the game. Lately, for about the last week, my latency has been spiking anywhere between 34 ms to 600 ms, making rubber banding a very big issue, and a tendency to be kicked from competitive ranked games. I’m also going to start working from home soon, using a remote connection to a VM. Solutions I’ve tried already include soft resetting the router, unplugging the router for 5 minutes and plugging it back in, and calling tech support (which basically told me to do the same exact thing). Other points of interest, my device is not the only device in the house experience the issue. The connection is wired Ethernet. I have checked all physical connections, including the coaxial cable to the router. I have done ping tests from multiple devices, including the router itself, and all are spiking around the same ping. Also, I am not getting any dropped packets while testing. Any ideas of what I should do? Should I call tech support again? Also, as for the 10 mbps down, I normally only get 2-3 mbps up and 5 mbps up on a good day. I know they advertise it as “up to 10 mbps.” But it kinda sucks when you are trying to even upload videos or use Skype/Discord. Should I bring this up the next time I call? And before I get the obvious “get better internet” comments, I have already stated that this is the only solution for me at the moment for anything more than 20 mbps down via DSL. And I’m not willing to move to a different area just to have better internet. Also, I understand that some people might think that just upgrading the internet package might be what I need, but it’s not the speed that’s the issue, it’s the latency.

Discord has been giving me issues where, randomly, inconsistently, yet horribly irritating I disconnect from what ever voice connection I have. This error JUST popped up after 4/5 months of issues. This is after factory resetting and updating all firmware for the components of my PC. This doesn't just affect discord. It also affects multiple games but they are random... Like COD MW i just cant load in. Rainbow 6 Siege fine. TF2 fine. LoL I get punished for not seeing the ready up que. Valorant is hit or miss. Among Us I get RANDOMLY disconnected but only when the round starts. I don't know what to do and it just sucks. I'm happy I found this error window but it still doesn't explain how/why it affects other games. If anyone knows anything please... I just wanna play games with my friends again I've looked up the errors but all I are solutions for programs other than discord..

Hello! So i have been having very high temperature spikes on my Ryzen CPU and I was not able to find anything in google other than "its just ryzen". I have been having 10C degree spikes constantly which does not seem normal to me. The machine at idle keeps 50-60 degrees and with prime95 runnning it gets 60-70 degrees averages. Its just that the temperature spikes are constant and you can see the below picture of the temp graph for 1 minute. My cooler is Dark Rock Pro 3 which is like.. the biggest air cooler out there probably and the thermal paste is an Arctic MX-4 applied 2 months ago. And there is a sufficient amount on there. I just dont see how the CPU can be at 60 degrees on idle and 70 degrees on prime95 and where these spikes are coming from.. In the BIOS, the temperature sensors read 30 degrees, which is normal, but in Windows, i havent seen it below 45c. Here is the graph: Any ideas?

MB: MSI Z97 Gaming 5 PSU: Corsair RM750 CPU: i7-4790k @ stock freq CPU Cooler: Corsair H110iv2 or something, it's an AIO RAM: 4x 8GB Kingston HyperX Fury @ 1600Mhz GPU: MSI GTX 1080 @ stock freq (driver ver 390.77 via GeForce Experience, driving 2x displays @ 2560x1080 via displayport) OS: Win 10 x64 (v1709, OS Build 16299.248) About a month ago, I noticed that I would get stutters while doing anything, playing games, watching videos, or even moving the mouse really quickly. The stutters are regular and very short but noticeable. However, this only occurs after my system has been on for about a day. This problem does not exist after a fresh boot. Things I have tried: Switching PCI-E slots (first and second slots) Cleaning the contacts on the card and slots Switching PCI-E BIOS config from Auto to Gen 3 x16 I looked at MSI Afterburner and noticed that my GPU Power % and GPU Usage % would drop at regular intervals but I have no idea why. I've attached screenshots. 'half.png' (top screenshot) shows me watching a YouTube video for the first half until the first big spike. The first big spike is loading PUBG, the short lull is the match loading screen, and afterwards is gameplay. 'reboot.png' (second screenshot) is after I have rebooted my PC and all of it is playing PUBG. The two dips at the end are loading back into lobby and exiting the game. I'm open to ideas and suggestions.

So I recently bought a computer and it used to work fine but now after taking it completely apart and doing a deep clean I reassembled it and now I'm having a problem where 50% time when I boot it the display fails to show anything it is very inconsistent and some times it will work right after the first boot bit some times it takes like 4 boot attempts for it to boot in to Windows. when I reset the bios and/or remove my second display it seems to improve my chances of a successful boot but it still isn't 100% successful. I have tried reinstalling the OS about 7 times which has resulted in other bugs being fixed but this one still persists could this be a hardware problem or could it just be a Windows 8.1 problem. (I'm planning on trying both Windows 10 and Ubuntu to see if the problem is OS related but I'm on my phone at the moment) Specs CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-5820K CPU @ 4.30GHz stableMotherboard: ASRock Fatal1ty X99M Killer LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99CPU Cooler: Thermaltake Water 3.0 Pro (CLW0223) Water/Liquid CPU Cooler 120MMGPU: ASUS Republic of Gamers Strix GeForce GTX 1060 6GB (boosting to 2150MHz stable)Ram: G.SKILL Value 16GB (4 x 4GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2133Case: Silverstone Tek Micro-ATX/DTX/Mini-ITX Aluminum Front Panel/Steel Body Mini Tower Computer Case SG10B, BlackPSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2 220-G2-0750-XR 80+ GOLD 750W Fully ModularBlu ray drive: HP Slot load Blu-ray UJ-235A Internal Slim 4X Blu-ray Burner DVD RW SATA Drive Boot drive: Plextor M6e PX-G128M6e M.2 2280 128GB PCI-ExpressSound Card: HT | OMEGA FENIX 7.1 Channels 24-bit 192KHz OS Windows 8.1 Pro 64Bit Note: I seem to have no problems while the OS is running Edit: and when the system boots my peripherals light up so I know it has turned on

Before you watch the video, some information you should know: Specs: 4790K, GA-Z97X-UD3H, 980 Ti Strix SLI, RM850 I have ran 3D mark 5 times. The first 3 times, the white artifacting occurs on the same graphic test (second one), the last 2 tries had no problems. Both 980 Ti Strix have high level of coil whine issue. Running the 980 Ti's individually, no artifacting occurs in 3D Mark No driver update or any software change inbetween the runs. I actually hope it's the RM850 causing trouble. I'm trying to find reasons to refund it and get the EVGA G2 instead. Which may even hopefully fix the coil whine (Although that's another issue on another thread).

Hello this is my first thread here and I am hoping you people are willing to lend a helping hand. Since I'm from sweden, English is not my first language, so grammar and spelling mistakes might happen more than once Setup: Fractal Design Core 2500 Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit Intel 330 Series 120gb SSD Intel i5 - 4690k @ 4.2ghz Asus z97-A (2801 bios) Gigabyte Geforce GTX 950 2GB OC (361.43 drivers) HyperX 8GIG kit @ 1867 Mhz CM 650w PSU BenQ XL2420z @ 144hz Steelseries Rival ( 1.8.0.0 firmware currently / Tried 1.4.0.0 and 0.150.0.0. No difference ) SO! As the topic reads...I have a really wierd problem with my mouse, its acting up when im in UEFI BIOS. The sens / DPI or w/e you call becomes "inconsistent" / "spikes" for a second or two then goes back to normal. Wich makes it incredibly hard to control. Did not experience this when my mobo was new. I have tried different USB ports. I have this problem in CSGO aswell, but the symptoms are not the same. They are more "permanent" so to speak. The mouse is really hard to control. I really dont know what to do. I've spent HUNDRES of hours trying to fix this problem and frankly im getting tierd doing it on my own, so here I am making this thread hoping you might be able to help me solve this frustrating problem. I have ALOT of hours put in to CSGO and I know how it's supposed to feel and as it is right now, it's definently not it. Any suggestions are welcome! Thanks // krutjygga

I've been having a peculiar issue wherein my latency in source games is consistently 10ms higher on my desktop as compared to my laptop. I initially figured this was a wifi adapter issue, but discovered that using my TL-WN725N in conjunction with my laptop yielded similar results as the integrated adapter. I ruled wifi and usb as out as culprits when I hauled my computer downstairs and found that Ethernet yielded similar results as wifi; consistently 10ms higher than on my other computer in source games. My pingtest.net results are pretty much identical (although it fails to check packet loss on the problem PC interestingly) and my download speeds are also the same. ICMP pings to any given server are same, and I wrote a C++ program which tests UDP latency over LAN; the results were within a fraction of a millisecond of each other. Based on these observations, I'm thinking it must be a higher level software issue, but am at a loss as to what. Things I've tried (without results): -Updating Bios to latest. -Updating chipset, video, NIC and adapter drivers. -Disabling windows firewall. -Disabling MS security essentials. -Trying other adapters, using various USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports (ruled out so not important). -This Things I haven't tried: -Starting in safe mode (steam won't run, duh). -Testing in non source games (its a $300 laptop from several years ago; it won't run much else). Problem PC specs: -Gigabyte F2A85XM-D3H -Athlon x4 760k @4.75GHz -Sapphire HD 7790 @1260MHz,1700MHz -OS and steam on a 120GB Samsung 840EVO Other info: -Both computers running most recent Windows 7 x64 Home Premium -Router is ZyXEL VSG-1432 -These observations have been consistent over the few months that have passed since I built the PC. I only recently realized that the laptop got lower pings and decided to diagnose it.
