EDIT: I just browsed around more and used quiz2input1.onclick=newF1 for it. it works!! Hi. I have a huge project due tonight and this is the last thing tripping me up. I know it's excessively messy and i could simplify it, but I don't have the time Anyways, the webpage responds to the initial call by pressing a button (id="buttonStart"). It then correctly displays the "Are you 18 or Older" next to the buttons "Yes" and "No". The problem is when I click on the buttons- nothing happens even though I added ".addEventListener()". First is the HTML that is being manipulated, next is the script I have inserted into the section element above it. This is a 101-level course so there is much I cannot incorporate. Any help is appreciated!! Google has been thoroughly exhausted. I've tried most variables in multiple different locations, either in or out of the code. Didn't make a difference. <article id="p2quiz2"><h3 id="answerTo">Can You Have Ice Cream?</h3> <div><p id="quizDialog">Click the Button to Start the Quiz!</p> </div> <input type="button" id="buttonStart" value="Click to Start" onclick="leavePlease();doiNeedThis1();doiNeedThis2();"><br><br></article> <script> var buttonRemove= document.getElementById("buttonStart"); var quiz2input1=document.createElement("INPUT"); var quiz2input2=document.createElement("INPUT"); var txt1=document.createTextNode("Yes"); var txt2=document.createTextNode("No"); function leavePlease(){ buttonRemove.remove(); document.getElementById("quizDialog").innerHTML="Are You 18 or Older?";} function doiNeedThis1(){ quiz2input1.appendChild(txt1); quiz2input1.setAttribute("type","button"); quiz2input1.setAttribute("value","Yes"); quiz2input1.setAttribute("id","yesA"); var dialogIDvar=document.getElementById("quizDialog"); dialogIDvar.appendChild(quiz2input1); } function doiNeedThis2(){ quiz2input2.appendChild(txt2); quiz2input2.setAttribute("type","button"); quiz2input2.setAttribute("value","No"); quiz2input2.setAttribute("id","noA"); var dialogIDvar=document.getElementById("quizDialog"); dialogIDvar.appendChild(quiz2input2); } document.getElementById("noA").addEventListener("click",newF2); document.getElementById("yesA").addEventListener("click",newF1); function newF1(){ var moreRemove1= document.getElementById("yesA"); var moreRemove2= document.getElementById("noA"); moreRemove1.remove(); moreRemove2.remove(); document.getElementById("answerTo").innerHTML="You Can!"; } function newF2(){ var moreRemove1= document.getElementById("yesA"); var moreRemove2= document.getElementById("noA"); var todayDate=new Date(); moreRemove1.remove(); moreRemove2.remove(); if(todayDate.getDay() == 6 || todayDate.getDay() === 0){ document.getElementById("answerTo").innerHTML="You Can! It is the weekend."; } else{ document.getElementById("answerTo").innerHTML="You Cannot. It is not the weekend."; } } </script> another function i have trouble with is this but it's MUCH less urgent. It does not respond at all. Yes it is asking if the user loves my dog. I'm exhausted. <article id="p2quiz1"> <h3 id="doyouLike">Do You Like Nicky?</h3> <p><img src="nickycsce.PNG" width="510" height="370" alt="Nicky2"></p> <form> <input type="radio" id="NickyYes" name="Opinion" value="Yes"> <label for="NickyYes">Yes</label><br> <input type="radio" id="NickyAbs" name="Opinion" value="Absolutely"> <label for="NickyAbs">Absolutely</label><br> <input type="button" value="Finished" onclick="goodChoice()"> <script> var yesS= document.getElementById("NickyYes"); var absS= document.getElementById("NickyAbs"); function goodChoice(){ if(yesS.checked= true;){ document.getElementById("dpyouLike").innerHTML="You could have been more Enthusiastic" }; else if (absS.checked = true){ document.getElementById("doyouLike").innerHTML="Good Choice." }; else{ document.getElementById("doyouLike").innerHTML="wtf"; } } </script> </form> </article>

Hi guys, I hope this is the right category for my question. So my problem is as I described it in the title. I have really playback on youtube with the HTML5 player. It was suddenly there. With choppy I mean really choppy. Videos keep loading forever till they start to play in 144p and stop after a short time. Sometimes videos play fine and then start hanging when the buffered part ends. Livestreams are almost not watchable because the stream buffers for some minutes and then plays for only a few seconds in 144p (when the resolution is set to auto). I just can't figure out what is causing the problem. It was normaly working just fine. My internet should be more then fast enough (100Mbps down/ 20Mbps up). I even tried another browser (Firefox, Edge; I normally use Chrome) but had no luck. I thought my extensions are causing the problems but as described before it does not work in Edge or Firefox with no plugins installed. I tried to deactivate my extensions in Chrome but that changed nothing. Strangely it works in incognito mode. But I thing that my router is causing the problems since I was able to replicate the behavior on a notebook (also Windows 10 Pro x64 with Chrome). As I router I am running pfSense since a few weeks with pfblockerNG and Snort. Deactivating Snort and pfblockerNG changed nothing (no, Snort did not block some of Googles IPs). Any Idea on how to solve this problem? Everything other works just fine. Even streaming from other providers works just fine. thanks and sorry for my bad english

Hi everyone I've got a very annoying problem : my audio on HTML5 player (the rest is all good... vlc, flash,ect) get delayed after a bit. For exemple, if I watch a 20 mins videos, ill get maybe 3-5 sec of delay which is progressive until the end. It is very annnyoing since youtube and twitch uses HTML5 (I know twitch can use flash but thats not the point). Here what I've tried : - Reinstalling audio drivers - Installing chrome canarie - Using windows sound drivers - Reinstalling chrome - Changing bit rate in audio - Disabling hardware acceleration in chrome - Disabling application to take exclusive use of audio driver ALL MY DRIVERS ARE UP TO DATE ! Here's my spec : HP Omen first gen with 860m gpu in it. Please help me

Would it be possible to make a script that would allow a youtuber to when they upload a video it gets auto put into the player on the wix site, for example, if i uploaded a video it would get added to my websites front page for the most recent video, here's the website for a base type thing, i have no experience with software engineering, and i have no idea where to start when it comes to this. it would really help me be more efficient when it comes to making and producing videos. Thanks for any help possible!

I am currently writing a Website, with a Html based 3D canvas. So far so good, now i am facing a Problem with sliders to manipulate a 3D object in space. everytime one slider changes the Object reverts to its original Position first and then the manipulation of its Position in space is Computed. I tried several ways to bypass this limitation, but i always end up with the same result that multiplies the current rotation with 0, is there something i'm missing or is that not possible and i have to write Javascript code to link both sliders to a variable in hard coded css? <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <meta charset="UTF-8"> <title>PnP_Javascript</title> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="css/style.css"> </head> <body> <main> <button style="cursor:pointer; grid-row: 1 / span 2; width: min-content;" class="drawerButton" onclick="toggleNav()">☰</button> <div class="title" style="grid-column: 2/span2; width:100%;">title</div> <div class="subtitle" style="grid-column: 2/span2; width:100%;">Subtitle </div> <div class="lSidebar"> <input class="verticalSlider" id="viewingAngle" type="range" min="0" max="90" value="0" data-units="deg" onchange="document.getElementById('map').style.transform='rotate3d(1,0,0,'+ this.value +'deg)'"> <input class="verticalSlider" id="centerRotation" type="range" min="0" max="360" value="360" data-units="deg" onchange="document.getElementById('map').style.transform='rotate3d(0,0,1,'+ this.value +'deg)'"> </div> <div class="canvas"> <div class="container" id="map"> <div class="face north"></div> <div class="face east"></div> <div class="face south"></div> <div class="face west"></div> <div class="face image"> <embed src="https://cdn.pixabay.com/photo/2017/02/20/18/03/cat-2083492_960_720.jpg" width=100% height=100%> </div> </div> </div> <div class="item5">Right</div> <div class="item6" style="grid-column: 1/span3; width:100%;">Footer</div> </main> </body> </html> https://jsfiddle.net/stbdznw1/8/

Source: https://www.infoq.com/news/2019/10/WebAssembly-wasm-malicious-usage/ There is also a PDF file summary: https://www.dimva2019.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/31/2019/06/DIMVA19-slides-2-R.pdf Or the fully study: https://www.tu-braunschweig.de/Medien-DB/ias/pubs/2019-dimva.pdf My opinion: I knew this was going to happen the very second Chrome turned on WebAssembly. And it did. Back in June of 2018 I had an argument with some people online about how we killed off flash and java, only to bring it back as WebAssembly, and now there's multiple "webasm" implementations that can have holes in it, not just closed-source Java and Flash plugins. This was when some of my clients customers started noticing bad behavior on their websites that previously wasn't present in earlier versions of Chrome and Firefox. The context of that discussion was why we keep giving up sovereignty of webstandards to google. This was not the first thing google pushed that unnecessarily harmed users or site operators. (WebASM) WebAssembly should have been "click to activate", just like flash/java extensions. Sure that might minimize it's usefulness, but at least a legitimate site can go "hey so if you want to play this game/media player, activate wasm for this domain". At this point, WebAssembly hasn't been widely adopted (1 in 600 sites), but it has been used more for malicious uses than not, and that's even worse than flash, which primarily was used for auto-playing obnoxious video ads. When you run into a crypto-miner on a website, your entire computer grinds to nearly a halt, with all the CPU cores getting pinned to 90% or whatever level the miner decided would be "undetectable" unless they were not listening to music and can hear their fans spin up like jet engines.

Basically, I'm writing a program that allows a user to create and export maps. I can't get JavaScript to export the map (a canvas) because it is "tainted." I tried looking this up and tried to fix the error multiple times in multiple ways, but nothing worked. Here is some of the code for exporting in case it helps: <img id="exportImage" crossorigin="Anonymous"> <script> function exportMap(){ var canvas = document.getElementById('canvas'); var context = canvas.getContext('2d'); var img = document.getElementById("exportImage") // save canvas image as data url (png format by default) img.crossorigin = "Anonymous"; var dataURL = canvas.toDataURL(); console.log(dataURL) document.getElementById("exportImage").src = dataURL; } </script> Thanks in advance!

Hi. I'm trying to create a "video site template" for people who want to upload videos to their friends, or audience, but not use a 3rd party website. I've managed to make a system that is pretty simple to use, and works pretty well too, but I can't embed the video on apps like Discord, Twitter, or Facebook. I actually have no idea how those apps do their embedding thing, or if it's possible for me to create my own interface for them. Can someone who is more knowledgeable help me out? I'll show off what I got so far. It's at http://jackomail.com/videos/videotest/ If giving that link is frowned upon at all please let me know and I will remove it. For those wondering I've been into programming for around 10 years, and I'm trying to do this project because I'm getting a little sick of how YouTube does things. I want a place where I can manage my own uploads, and handle my own DMCAs if need be. I also want other people to start doing this so someday maybe I can stop using YouTube to watch things too.

I had a website that was run on weebly, but apparently my plan got canceled, and now it looks like this. www.blackunlimited.tech . I personally hate the "Made on Weebly" shit at the bottom, so I decided I would learn to code my own website. I already have the Adobe package, and I'm using dreamweaver. I know the basics, but I want to learn how to really personalize and theme my site. Thanks in advance.

Hi all, I been researching this project for a while and just cant get anywhere. I currently have a website hosted on my windows server box which has a couple HTML 5 videos on it. I was wondering if there was any way that I could sync playback controls to multiple users on the website. For instance when one person presses play, it plays for everyone else on the website at the exact same time. Do you guys have any idea on how I could get this to work? Thanks for help in advance. I'm looking for something similar to http://sync-video.com/ but with videos that I host and own instead of some YouTube video.

just today, i am unable to watch any youtube video on any browser. no idea why. a similar thing happened last week, but reinstalling flash fixed it. but now all videos are either a black screen or the video is stuck on the first frame and it refuses to play or move from that point. chrome, firefox, and ie all fail to play videos. can someone please help?

I have this issue with watching Youtube and Twitch in Firefox with HTML5 where the video or stream says it's 60 fps but it feels like 30 fps or just really choppy 60fps. I tried watching the same stream and video in Chrome and had no problems (it was smooth 60fps), but i do not want to switch to chrome since i have loads of addons and such on Firefox and i just don't like Chrome. I then got the idea to use the program "Livestreamer" to stream the Twitch broadcasts to VLC and it was as good as chrome, again no low fps or stutters. so my question is, are there any workaround on getting Firefox to work smoothly?

I was looking for a bit but didn't find anything too special. So I was wondering if you guys got a good website or video series to recommend. I was wanting to get started with coding and heard that it would be best to start with HTML5, since of its ease of use, to get started with coding. If not true with what is ist best to start?

Sorry to start with negative post but I am using text based Sylpheed on Ubuntu Studio 15.10 to read email. I finally validated my account by reading the email from Chrome then later remembered there are html attachments to Sylpheed that will pass to browser. Hopes this helps other GUESTS that want to join. Actual reason to begin dialog about using Ubuntu Studio 15.10 for OSVR V1.3 with 3D designs and games style online learning. I will be asking about hardware and software to make Ubuntu Studio on MacBook Air and I7 Mini do LAN and Internet video with VR overlays. Idead is based on my course development in the 1980's using "DEC IVIS" for course with computer based instruction (CBI). I have setup a GoDaddy with Moodle and will make WebVR and HTML5 courseware. First will be collaboration for development team for the Open Source Courseware using Creative Commons V3.0 Share Alike License. In the 1980's we had the tools to make a network distributed learning experience with satellite or laser disc video. IVIS device used overlay to video to add graphics. Now in March 2016 I want to add the VR piece by learning about Ubuntu Studio and Blender 3D. Also will be building Open Source RepRap Mini Kossel 3D printer. The audio and video will be edited and viewed using VLC and Chrome and maybe YouTube for widest audience. I have associated the developer on this post so comments will notify me. Please, help by introducing yourself and links to useful information. Lee T. Davy Cool Games Network

Speedtest.net has launched and HTML5 version of their speed test, removing the need to use Flash or any other program installations, both speeding up the test and removing the yet more flash from the internet For about a week now users who launched the site without a Flash plugin (or with Flash blocked) were greeted with a link to an HTML5 beta site. Ookla, LLC the company behind Speedtest.net, appears to be looking into doing away with the rapidly aging platform that is Flash in lieu of the far more lightweight all-in-browser path. Although it doesn’t have the glitzy look of the Flash test (no map to choose locations from) the simple no-nonsense design of the HTML5 test is more than sufficient to meet the needs to giving a well and proper Internet speed test. Flash has been on a long road to doom as it has been a bloated, overlarge app platform that runs in browsers and has a long history of security exploits and poor performance. Earlier this year, Mozilla Corporation began blocking Flash in its Firefox browser (a block since relinquished) because of security issues discovered by controversial Italian firm Hacking Team. And that’s only the most recent nail in the coffin for the aging app platform. I wonder how ads are integrated after the shift, ads are still run through flash by most browsers. given the site is run by ads, this would force all the ads to go html5. you can try it yourself here : http://beta.speedtest.net/ Source : http://siliconangle.com/blog/2015/12/08/speedtest-net-now-allows-users-to-check-their-internet-speeds-using-html5/

Let me preface this by saying that I have no idea if this post belongs here. Please go ahead and relocate it if needed. Anyways, my issues are as follows: Upon watching certain YouTube videos at greater than 1x speed in the HTML5 player on Chrome (45.0.2454.101 m (64-bit)), I find that randomly throughout the video I get awful stuttering/frame drops (less than 1fps sometimes). I realize that this is perhaps not a hardware issue, and perhaps this is not the best place to discuss such matters, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to check to see if anyone had some solution to this problem. In order to demonstrate the problem (or rather NOT demonstrate it, as it should hopefully work for you guys), here's a link to a video which suffers from particularly bad frame drops (for me, around 0:35). I also attached a screenshot of it with my stats up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgGzldpbInE I don't think my hardware is to blame (I never see 100% usage of anything, single cores included, and there's no thermal throttling), but here are my potentially relevant specs: AMD FX-8150 GTX 660Ti (latest drivers) 16 GB RAM (1600MHZ DDR3) ASUS Xonar DG audio card Windows 7 Home Other relevant information: The HTML5 player in IE11 runs without stuttering. This has been going on for quite a while now, probably well over a year. I have tried disabling hardware acceleration (does nothing but eat up my CPU) Any ideas, anyone?

source: https://code.facebook.com/posts/159906447698921 --- take that, Adobe! the more companies drop support for that back hole called FLASH, the better but not all is rosy, as FB have experienced issues over the course of implementing it

So I finally decided to uninstall flash and java due to them being insecure etc. But because of this, I cannot play any tracks on soundcloud's website. It tells me I require flash. First of all, I find it strange that they wouldn't have made an option for html5 instead since they must know flash is insecure. But I mean, it's still a possibility that they haven't changed to HTML5. But also, since I can use the soundcloud app on an iOS device, which doesn't support flash, shouldn't it technically be possible to stream the songs using either HTML5 or something else (like a desktop application)? If anyone knows if this is the case and know how to use HTML5 instead of flash or if soundcloud has their own desktop/windows application to stream their music without flash, please tell me. Thanks!
