So girl busts out a board game, sequence. Never played it before and I’m looking at the board, basically it’s “connect 4” the child game but connect 5. 104 cards, 2 decks. Each player gets 7 cards, pick a spot and place your chip dabbled online and saw printable boards - all of which had the same layout so she takes a break and gets mad cause I start looking up board patterns, mathematical solutions and so on. Gets all angry cause I’m “cheating” Suppose my question relates more to cryptography rather than probability. Why is the board arranged how it is, and HOW is it arranged in terms of the cards? There’s less face cards in a deck, jacks are “variable” Focus of this question isn’t so much card counting or otherwise. Rather the layout of the playing field itself there has to be a simple “key” as to why sequence has the board made how it is. I refuse to beleive its random - that’s improbable. ideas?

I need some help with my computer (Windows 11). Discord, games (The Finals, Overwatch) crash instantly on launch or after a few minutes, and sometimes browser tabs crash but not often. I've found a workaround for Discord. It works fine in the Edge browser, but crashes on Firefox after some time, or the microphone disconnects. Here's what I've tried so far: updated the motherboard BIOS to the newest version, ran Memtest86 (passed), restored BIOS to default settings, disabled XMP, fully uninstalled and reinstalled all crashing applications, fully uninstalled and reinstalled GPU drivers and audio drivers, updated Windows, also side note ran Furmark and Cinebench without system crashes. The system is not overheating, temps are fine. Internet is fine, plugged into ethernet. Hey. So... I have a new PC and I have been having some problems with it. Specifically with the GPU. (i think) I will give the full specks at the bottom. (GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 3060 Ventus) My PC was working fine just a few days ago, as in I was able to play my games on ultra without problem, but I got an NVIDIA update and then after it finished, the games on Steam and Epic started not using the GPU for the games and the CPU started to absolutely throttle. Updating the driver was the only thing that I did. I then thought that the update was the problem, so I rolled it back, but the problem still persisted. I then restarted the system and now only a few games actually use the GPU when on. Those games would be games like AmongUs, CaveCrawlers, any game on EA, and Helldivers2. All of my other games like Hogwarts legacy, The Finals, Halo: MCC, and Warframe, still don't work. Let me know if there is anything else that yall would need to help me in this. I'll be using my PC fine for hours then once I open the game play for a while and close it I can use apps that are already open but can't open anything new and when I try to shutdown the computer says no and remains on the desktop. So I've only had this happen these two nights in a row so I had to force shutdown with the power button (held not pressed) but tonight my mobo lights didn't turn off.

Hey all! Decided to download Division 2 to play with a friend over the weekend. However, I ran into a pretty strange display issue. I attached a video of what happens. Basically, the game launches, and works for a brief moment before the screen goes black and it begins flickering from the black screen to my desktop over and over again. It does not stop. There is no way to get out of this loop except for rebooting the machine. Some of the troubleshooting steps I have tried: - Roll back Nvidia drivers - Disable multiple displays and try running the game with only 1 - Reinstalling the game on by 2 different drives - Forcing the game to run in Dx11 instead of 12 - Verifying the game files - Checked Event Viewer but couldn't locate anything noteworthy I'm pretty lost as to what can be the issue, since I play a multitude of other games and none of them have these issues. Would appreciate any help on this! 72810353842__7099DDF8-6C53-4ECA-91C2-14E747DA531F.mov

I have an issue while playing a handful of titles on my PC. I seem to have an issue where my screen experiences some sort of vertical line pixelation or screen door effect in some games. The strange thing is, it only tends to happen while outdoors and near foliage such as grass or trees. If I look towards the ground, it fixes itself until I look back at the foliage. Any ideas on what's causing it or what I can try to fix it? I have an Nvidia RTX 4060 from MSI and 32 gigs of ram, and no it's not the monitor's fault as far as I know.

Hello, I currently upgraded my PCs Motherboard, GPU, CPU and heat sink. After this upgrade, I have been unable to play many games that I have installed and was able to play before. I have ran games successfully on CPU (disabling NVIDIA GPU from Device Manager > Display Adapters) I am getting an error during crashes with nvlddmkm as seen in Event Viewer > Windows Logs > System (Included in screenshot) Note, this only happens with certain games, but not others. Here is current setup: Processor: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-13600K, 3500 Mhz, 14 Core(s), 20 Logical Processor(s) Motherboard: MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4(MS-7D25) GPU: Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 (GIGABYTE NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 WINDFORCE OC 12G GDDR6X PCI Express 4.0 Graphics Card Black GV-N4070WF3OC-12GD - Best Buy) RAM: G.Skill Aegis 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-2400 CL17 Memory (https://www.gskill.com/specification/165/185/1534753735/F4-2400C15S-16GIS-Specification) Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE 66.17 CFM CPU Cooler PSU: Corsair TX750M Gold 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply Things I have tried: Updating all my drivers Updating direct X versions Updating BIOS Enabled NVIDIA game optimizations Using Display Driver Uninstaller in Safe Mode to remove all NVIDIA drivers and software, restart PC and do a clean install of NVIDIA (tried both latest Gaming and Studio drivers) and iGPU drivers using the tool Using CleanupTool_1.0.20.0.exe to remove all NVIDIA drivers and software, restart PC and do a clean install of NVIDIA drivers from the following site: GeForce Game Ready Driver | 537.58 | Windows 10 64-bit, Windows 11 | NVIDIA Using Intel Extreme Tuning Utility's Benchmark tool to check the CPU (the max temp doesn't go higher than 81 C) Using FurMark tool to check GPU stress test and temperature and FPS seem to be within limits, so no hardware malfunctioning I imagine? When I play both Shadow Warrior 3 and Back4Blood (included in screenshot), both games will stop responding and the video is frozen, yet the audio still continues. I also get this error: "LowLevelFatalError Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost. D3D device was not available to assertain DXGI cause." I am unable to close the game with Alt+F4 and have to use task manager. The process does not say "not responding" as it would with a usual issue like this. Is there any advice as to what I can check to verify what this issue is? Thanks so much for any advice!!

So I recently upgraded my GPU and RAM. I have a 4070 with an i7 10700, 32GB of 3200 CL16, and a PSU of 800W. I had a 1070 with 16GB and I didn't have stuttering, but now I have micro stuttering in every game like R6, Red Dead, and Squad. I'm not using 100% of the CPU, but I feel this micro-stuttering. This is because i have a huge bootleneck or can be because of something else?

I'm gonna have some friends over and I thought that instead of watching movies like we usually do, I thought playing some video games might be fun to try. However, no one (including me) is a gamer. This is the hardware I have: PC (RTX 2060, 16 GB RAM). Mac (M1 Max, 32 GB RAM). 1440p 165 hz monitor. 4K OLED TV 60 hz. Three DUALSHOCK 4 PS4 Bluetooth controllers (unfortunately no PS4 at the moment though, long story...). I would prefer if there was a game that supported local multiplayer by using the two/three DUALSHOCK 4 Bluetooth controllers at the same time to the same device. But maybe those single device multiplayer games are mostly for console? We're open for any suggestions in terms of genre. I apologize in advance for my lack of gaming knowledge.

Hey Forum, I'm reading / watching the news about content providers simply removing content from ppl, what they already bought (looking at you Sony ) and since similar things happened to me on Steam too, I was wondering. I'm from the age where we stored the content on physical media. Cassettes, CD, then DVD.... Now, obviously, this is not a solution when a game install requires 150+ GB. I remembered, Linus and his group made something in the past as a local cache for your games to download. That was the "Lan Cache" video. Now, this is super and all and I believe this MIGHT be the solution to my issue. All I want is to preserve my games even is Steam or any other gaming library platform removes it from their store and I want capability to still install it if I want to. Have any of you actually tried it and worked? Were you able to install games that were pulled out from the online store, but were cached on your Lan Cache? Or if you have better ideas, how to keep my games and not to worry about they getting removed, that would be great.

I'll try to keep this as brief as possible because all my patience with this pc is nearly gone. I feel like I've tried almost everything to no avail. The Issue: So what happens is that when playing any game and in this case I've been using the sims 4 to keep it consistent, after anywhere between 2-10 minutes (typically) or up to 2 hours (rarely) of gameplay the whole pc freezes. Meaning no inputs can be done until I'm forced to shut it off. And there are no real indicators leading up to the crash, the games run as well as they should until they stop running at all. What I've tried: I feel like I have done nearly everything except for buying a whole new PC, which is absolutely not an option. But I have replaced parts, reinstalled windows, running more than enough virus scans and troubleshooters but nothing has shed a light on what the issue could possibly be. However some things I did find were that using a different ram stick on each slot helped it run significantly longer, to the point where it I had believed that replacing the RAM was the option. But then all of that was done and yet it still freezes just the same the next time the pc is used. This led me to believe that that the storage was corrupted in some way, after all I had ran the chkdsk command on the C drive and it failed. Right after reinstalling windows on the new SSD, once again the pc ran fine! But the day after the crashes began once again. I am past the point of being frustrated, I'm sick of this but Id like to avoid a pc repair shop if possible. -Asus EVO oc edition 2060 -Corsair 650 watt power supply -Ryzen 7 5800x -500 gb solid state drive -2 tb hard drive -2 x 8 ddr4 3600 mHz ram -MSI Mag b550 tomohawk motherboard These were the specs before the replaced SSD and Ram (gskill trident 32gb) Any and all help is greatly appreciated! Please feel free to ask any questions and I'll answer to best of my ability. For any additional context, please visit my previous post, thank you

I have at least one game with Denuve Malware in it and the game has become unplayable because of it. Which is even more infuriating now since I used to play it with our any issues a year an a half ago. As such i really want to find away to remove it to make the game playable again. I ABSOLUTLY HATE anti-cheat and anti-piracy programs that hurt performance of games. This type of thing makes me so mad I can't see straight. It is like the developer is spitting in our face saying I care more about my IP then you enjoying our game. Its to the point where I am going to boycott any new games that have this type of software. I also read this (https://qr.ae/py2PHd) recently do you guys know of this is true?

a note: please before you critize me for what I do, know that im a student and barely saved enough to get a potatopc...so try to undersstand:> ive been using JD2 to automate the process of downloading from ovagames for a long time.. but recently it doesnt work. and heres how: usually in the past, when i used to start the crawler, it'd process a bit and then show me a captcha to solve(usually the very last one of them) and then the password and done. but now, it skips the captcha thing and just asks for the password . but it doesnt work! it says ''wrong password' in the link grabber instead of the files.. i mean its gonna be very hard to download each file one at a time of the whole download..

Hi all, I've decided to ask my question here instead of creating a new topic. I have a Logitech Z906 (I live in a studio apartment and it is convenient because I can connect a lot of things to it) and I was thinking about getting a separate sound card for my PC. My reasoning would be is that, back in the day I never had the chance to experience some oldies but goldies that use EAX (Doom 3 or Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast) and I was looking for something that could be modern and also offer these features. Or should I just go for the old x-fi cards and switch between it and the one on my motherboard? Also, I saw that Plouffe also uses a sound card and it looks like something to be from Creative but I've never figured out which model and I'm also curious as to why exactly? BTW, right now I'm rocking an ASUS ROG Strix X570-E Gaming motherboard. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

Just curious, but how many people here play mobile games? I play Mario Kart Tour Super Mario Run Cooking Craze EDIT: Note to mods: I just realized I put it in General Discussion when I meant to put it in the "Official" topic. Move it without comment please. heck how many people are going to laugh at this note...

Hey! Without changing anything or going into any internet/router settings my connection in games started breaking. I tested with different games so it's not a one game issue. For example, in Fortnite I can run around and play the game like normal before all of a sudden the connection is lost and I'm sent back to the main menu. The same thing happens in Discord when in a voice chat with friends, all is well and then it lags without any warning. I'm connected via LAN from a WiFi extender (Speed Home Wifi - Telekom), this has not been an issue for about three years now. What is strange to me about this is that at no point does my internet connection break. I can load websites, watch videos, etc. I even had Fortnite going in the background and as I was browsing around and the game "lost" it's connection while everything else loaded without an issue. Does anyone have an idea of what could be causing this? Maybe someone knows a diagnostic tool I can run or something? I'm really confused and it's very annoying. Thanks in advance and please feel free to ask any questions that might help you to help me! :)

I built a new computer a couple of months ago and it has been running perfectly fine until recently. I've tested to see if anything was overheating, but the max temp for my CPU was around 80C and my GPU was around 70C. I've updated all of my drivers and made sure my windows was up to date. I tested my memory to see if anything was faulty, but after running memtest86 everything looked fine. Reset my computer and ran bleachbit a bunch of times. I even made sure every cable was fully plugged in to my computer just in case something had gotten loose. I have tried just about everything I can think of but to no avail. Budget (including currency): 2500 USD Country: Poland Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: AutoCad, Revit, Photoshop, Blender (sometimes sketchup + lumion (non ray tracing version)), also games Other details : I,m going to start my own architecture studio. I want the platform to be upgradable in the future. I'm not new to tech-related stuff, but this topic is making my head hurt and I need your opinion. Trying to minmax price and performance. I will probably use 2 monitors with this setup, that are not included in build. If you have a monitor that you can recommend please do. Also, going nvidia instead of radeon because of blender Proposed build: PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Y97q34 CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7900X 4.7 GHz 12-Core Processor ($410.59 @ Amazon) CPU Cooler: be quiet! There are 2 things about this build that are bothering me, and its hard for me to find answears for them. Firstly, i want to be able to upgrade this pc in the future, so the question is what mobo should i choose. After doing some research, i basically found out that for my needs B650E chipset is enough, but i'm not confident if it will be a good choice for a future ryzen 9 9000 X(so in the build i chose more expensive option). Second thing is, if i get a subsidy for opening a new bussines i will be able to buy 7950x version, but i don't know if 4 cores justify 33% price increase. I'm moving from i7-7700k and i have to say that cpu is still doing well, but more complex models are starting to become troublesome. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I recently upgraded my PC with a fast nvme drive and cleaned it then put it properly together, then I installed windows 11 with a single drive and all, nowI noticed in games the monitor is sort of losing FPS/Stutters more like (the effect of unsynced fps I would describe as) while at the same time the brightness and contrast are not in harmony, this fixes when I put the game in full screen. This effect does not happen with windows, they move smoothly, I tested on League of Legends and Warframe amongst other titles. The order of clean installation was as follows: W11->Chipset->GPU Drivers->Audio Drivers->Network Drivers->->W11 Update->Games, restart in between each step. Specs can be seen in my profile, GTX980 is the unit. Thanks in advance.
