Buying RAM for Gigabyte GA-H170-Gaming 3
doyojo6231 posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I have the motherboard listed in the title: Gigabyte GA-H170-Gaming 3. I want to buy RAM for it, so I wanted to ask which would be better of the following, and why: 8GB (1x8GB) DDR4 3600MT/s CL17 FURY Beast Black XMP Non-ECC Unbuffered DIMM (Single Module) 1RX8 17-21-21 1.35V 288-pin 8Gbit Spec Sheet OR 8GB (1x8GB) DDR4 3200MT/s CL16 FURY Beast Black XMP Non-ECC Unbuffered DIMM (Single Module) 1RX8 16-18-18 1.35V 288-pin 8Gbit Spec Sheet I want the total to be 16GBs so I'll buy two of the better one. Thank you all. -
So as the title says, I'm just after realising my RAM is running at default 2133mhz instead of 3200mhz so I went to go enable xmp and can't find it anywhere. I've updated the bios, checked they are all able to have it and can't find any info anywhere that helps so I thought I'd try here with the professionals. Anyone got any advice where to go from here?

Hi, I recently bought new set of RAM 4x8GB from Kingston new brand Fury beast, has 2 XMP profiles, one 3600mhz and the other is 3733mhz. XMP 3733mhz, is not working. It wont even post, regardless of what I do, voltages, low FCLK, loose timings...etc. all drivers and bios up to date. I tried the other way around, FCLK 1866 and no XMP, errors on all stress test also regardless of voltages. Not sure what is the issue, is it my RAMs, my board, both? My board is GB Aorus Elite X570 with 5600x. Currently on 3600mhz C16 with tight timings. Getting around 59ns in AIDA safe mode and 63ns in AIDA normal windows. Note that the RAMs are not compatible with the board.

Hey, my question is about RAM. I currently have 8GB ram, running 2400Mhz, and i am planning to buy another 2x4GB, but the problem is, i can't find exactly the same RAM that i currently have. I found the same RAM, but the color is different (current ram is black, the ones i want to add are grey) and the speed is 3000Mhz. Are they going to work if i buy and add them? As far as i know the speed should automatically be downgraded to 2400Mhz, since my current ones are running 2400Mhz. The only thing is, i am not sure if they are going to work without problems? Needed info: MOBO: B360M BAZOOKA New RAM that i would buy (x2): KINGSTON MEMORY DIMM 4GB PC24000 DDR4/FURY HX430C15FB3/4 KINGSTON Thanks in advance!

Hello community, I am new to the PCMR scene and will be creating a new PC soon. Due to budget constraints I have mostly decided to use older hardware so I can learn before I can jump into expensive hardware. I have 2 R9 Fury Nitro cards from Nitro and I noticed that on my motherboard (MSI X370 Carbon) the cards are very close to each other. The two cards generate some heat (quite a lot actually) and get loud under load. As such, k thought for aesthetic reasons, I should try custom water-cooling. I was wondering if someone has previously had experienced custom water-cooling for Sapphire R9 Fury Nitro cards. So far I have found only 3 waterblocks: Swiftech Komodo, Alphacool Nexxxo and Bykski. Additionally what radiator size should be used. I am using a Corsair crystal 570x case.

Sites often recommend a 700-800 psu for a system with a r9 fury. That made me wonder: would 2 r9 furys require an 1200W Psu with Platinum certified??

I know that you can get reasonably price micro-sized 1070, 1060 and R9 nano but are there any other powerful GPU's under 7"? I'll be pairing it with a watercooled 6700k
-
So i have the chance to buy either of those cards for the same price ( 240$ tax included ), now the r9 has (i believe) about 10% more power, it needs a stronger PSU, but i think my BeQuiet 630 ( 80+ ) should be enough. Is there any reason i shouldn't be going for the fury?

The sweet sweet sensation of upgrading a PC... It's like putting extra cheese on your favourite dish "it makes it taste 100x better!" One might say, but pairing an R9 Fury with an Athlon X4 845 feels more like i slapped a pile of cheese on a pineapple. It tastes awful... and even hurts a little. Jokes aside though. I get 30-50 FPS in CS:GO on low 1080p... this can't be it... there must be something wrong... right?...

Hey LTT community I have a ram question for you guys. I have been looking into upgrading some core components on my system and had a look at the prices of DDR3 ram modules here in New Zealand and noticed they are quite cheap... I am currently running a 4gb stick of corsair DDR3 1886mhz and 3 x 2gb sticks of Kingston HyperX DDR3 at 1333mhz (obviously the corsair stick is running at a slower rate due to the other sticks) for a total of 10gb My price point would be around the $120- $150NZD range. Any particular brands to stay away from? I have an overclocked i7-930 @ 4.1ghz so my memory multiplier is at 8 in the BIOS which is at around 1590mhz (any overclocking higher I get memory management BSOD's hence the upgrade Thanks Guys!

Need some help Oc'ing my ram to removing potential bottlenecks and in general just to learn a bit more about ram Ocing. Im 100% noob when it comes to ram, so id love some explination on what timeings mean what etc. the ram im using is Hyperx Fury CL14 2133mhz. my target frequenzy is 3200mhz. i did find one guy that had oc'd his cl14 2133mhz to 3200mhz. but the post he made was some time ago, and not enough explanatory for me to follow into "copying settings" heres a link: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-3093043/hyperx-fury-ddr4-2133-question.html should be one of the first posts.

So the simple question is: should I upgrade from 8gb RAM to 16gb? I game and I do some work, and the mainly reason I'm asking this is because yesterday I had nothing to do and I decided to run shaders on minecraft. Then I noticed that the RAM was being used at its limit, which concerned me. The fps also were stupidly low (around 20). Tell me if I should upgrade my RAM, viewing all the aspects (work and gaming).

Hi, everyone! Recently, when I started playing Rainbow Six Siege after a few minutes, my computer would shut down. Just the computer, nothing else. I was confused and thought nothing serious was going on so I played again 20 minutes ago, and again, it shut down. It appears to shut down a few minutes into the actual game. I thought this was because of a power issue, so I was like "I'm gonna stress the sh*t out of my CPU and GPU" and I ran Prime 95 and Furmark at the same time for 10 minutes (Rainbow Six Siege shuts down about 3 minutes into the actual game). Computer works as normal, AMD's stock cooler rips my ears off but it's all good. Any Ideas? I forgot to mention, I initially thought it was the power supply's power delivery to the GPU so I turned on power effeciency off in crimson settings and disabled frame rate target control. Still did it. Then, I replaced my dual 8 pin cable with the other one that comes with the corsair RMX 650. Could it be because of the PSU's PSU cable? (The one that you plug into the wall and it delivers power to the PSU) or the PSU itself? Thank you for your time. One last thing, I haven't tested out any other games, but it never shut down while playing league of legends for over 3 hours and over an hour of m&b warband.

I'm deciding on picking up a new graphics card for my personal build and am currently undecided on which to go with Specifically I'm looking at the Radeon R9 Fury from Newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202186&cm_re=r9_fury-_-14-202-186-_-Product, goes for about $309 or $290 on Amazon. As for the GTX 1060, Im looking at this one by ASUS for about the same price http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814126122&cm_re=gtx_1060-_-14-126-122-_-Product. I've heard that in terms of performance the R9 Fury easily beats the 1060 but how does it fair against the newer RX 480? Also, my monitor does support freesync so would it be worth going with the R9 Fury for the benefit of freesync? My monitor: Samsung 591 series-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA2W04YM5013&cm_re=curved_monitor-_-24-022-405-_-Product

So...I had been entertaining the idea of a mining rig for a while and I got 6 RX 580s at a very good price, but I got drunk one night and decided I wanted to try older hardware (I don't know either), and I bought 3 R9 Nanos, 1 R9 390, 1 R9 Fury and 1 R9 Fury X. Any problem running those 6 cards? They all have the same GPU except for the 390, but the deal is done (Drinking with ambien...SO F*UCKING WISE) and I wanted to ask if there could be a problem mixing them. Got no issues with the 580s, but I'm wondering on that mix I purchased while intoxicated (still at good prices surprisingly)

I've been searching around for some good ddr4 ram and I decided to go with Hyperx Fury's as they were quite cheap and relatively good looking I wanted whites as it fits my build but soon realised that they don't provide 2x4gb White, while they have 2x4gb for the black variant, anyone can explain this?

Hi, I bought an R9 Fury Nitro from Sapphire used, just a few weeks ago. When I bought it i only made sure that it works under load, but I unfortunately did not have a look at the clock speed it was running at. Whenever I put the card under full load (both stress-testin and real world gaming load) it starts throwing the clockspeed all over the place and eventually settles in at about 400mhz. Temperature can not be the issue since it never reaches more than 45C thanks to a watercooler. I researched online and some people seemed to have the same problem with the Fury Cards, but none of their fixes worked at all. Neither Clockblocker, nor increasing the voltage in Trixx had any results - the ladder even made it worse. Could there be any damage to the card that results in this behaviour? I'd really appreciate If anyone knew something to try out in order to fix the problem. Even though I'm a pretty techy person I am starting to run out of ideas. If it helps, here are the system specs: i7 3770 Asus PZ77-V LK motherboard 16Gb Crucial Ballistics DDR3 Sapphire R9 Fury Nitro Corsair RM750x PSU Thanks in advance, Simon btw. I already checked for the usual suspects, like power draw, bad cables, bios/ driver updates, etc...

Any Fury series owners out there with Ass creed syn, getting major artifacting with the latest AMD drivers? I have looked into all solutions, none work for me, i am just wondering if anyone else is having the problems..... Note i have had the game ages and just never got around to playing it until now, so i have no idea if it is ok with much older drivers. Note my Fury is fully unlocked and i have zero problems with any other games, and my card is dual bios, and even when i switch the bios over to stock i still have the problem....(it was fine once, until it crashed, the its artifacted again)

Hello, i need to make a fast decision: which pad to buy. they are all around 30$, the fury xl being 5$ cheaper. So the pads i was looking for are the ss qck+ LE (normal one not on stock), ss qck heavy and the hyperx fury xl(big boi). I will be using ths pad with a g102 and if i decide to go with hyperx, i already have an hyperx alloy fps that has some absolutely amazing rubber feet(i cant move it at all). i wont be changing the pad for 5 or so years if possible and braided options seem quite nice.

I grabbed a FreeSync ASUS MG248QR 144 Hz monitor last year, and finally decided to grab another during Black Friday to finally get rid of my mismatching monitor set-up. Both my monitors are connected via DisplayPort (no adapters) to my Sapphire NITRO R9-Fury. The primary monitor works okay...but the second monitor gets no signal. I have tried different DisplayPort outputs, and no luck. Manually changing the display input on the monitor to DisplayPort does not help, either. Eventually decided to try with an HDMI cable, since the GPU has a native HDMI output port, and that worked. While typing this, I just remembered I was using the included DisplayPort cable that came with the monitor -- wonder if it is just a faulty cable. Has anyone ran into similar issues before?

How in the name of all that is holy can I change the accent colours? This rainbow diarrhea that is my phone is getting on my bloody nerves! Also on my 6t I could use my power button to open the camera with a double tap? Can I do that on my find x2 Pro? It makes me long for simple times of my Xperia xa.

I am currently picking out parts for my new Ryzen gaming build which is my first ever build. (MSI X470 gaming plus) I am really keen on going with Ryzen compatible RAM than the Intel ones. I couldn't find many of them online but after a bit of digging and reading AMD certified RAMs I could find one that was perfect. https://www.amazon.in/gp/aw/d/B01D8U2BKA/ref=cm_cr_arp_mb_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8 This is a single 8GB RAM stick from hyperx fury 15CL at 2400mhz. However I couldn't find the 16gb kit so is it find if I just buy two of the same individual 8GB sticks and make it 16gb or do I absolutely need to buy a 16gb kit?

I have enough for a 260~ R9 fury, I know that when AMD releases driver updates they occasionally increase performance on the older and newer cards, so I guess with the updates and more games using dx12 would a Fury be a better bang for buck over a 350$ 980ti?

I'm curious as to if they have HDR support of their display ports. Considering the current market, I'm going to have to settle for one of these cards. They're both around 1070 performance and can be had for around 400ish it less with a bit of patience. HDR support is one thing I would really like to have, but I don't know if it's mainly just the newer generations that support it.
