I've recently built a new PC with a fresh install of Windows 10 (Ver. 20H2). Twice this has happened where I'll be 2-3 hours of continual use (Gaming, watching videos etc) and it'll act as if someone has pressed the Reset button. It'll immediately turn off and attempt to reboot. I don't get any erorrs in event viewer, no BSOD, just straight to a black screen. However, the RGB in the system doesn't turn off (RGB RAM, AIO, FANS, and the lighting on the GPU). When the system attempts to boot back into Windows, there's no video output on the monitor. I have tried unplugging and replugging the monitors in, however this doesn't help the situation. I know that the PC has successfully rebooted however as I use a RDP tool on my mobile phone, and I'm still able to get onto the machine. I attempted to open Device Manager to see if the video card had been recognised at all, however it wasn't appearing. AMD driver software didn't recognise a GPU installed at all. The only way I can get a video output (I've found so far) is to turn the machine back off, pull the power cable out and clear the residual power by holding the power button for 15-20 seconds. I can then replace the power cable and it seems to boot fine. I've found that the BIOS hasn't reset (XMP profiles on the RAM are still set), and as mentioned before I cannot see any errors in Event viewer. I've been able to run benchmarks on the machine and it seems to be performing correctly. Also I've recently used the Display Driver uninstaller as well and ensure that a recommened version of the GPU driver is installed. I've ran sfc /scannow within windows and all files verified successfully. The first time this happened I wasn't sure what to do, however when this has happened today I have reseated the GPU, RAM and cleared the CMOS. Can anyone suggest any fixes, or potential culprits? So, this is a question for anyone that has tried both headsets, all I want to know is which one have the least clamping force. I wear glasses, so for me, the least the better I've recently purchased the cloud 2s, and it feels like they have a good amount of clamping force, and in addition to that, they put some pressure to the jaw, which feels a bit annoying over time. The logitech g633 is the other headset i was interested in, and i've heared so many different things, that i dont really know how to compare them to the cloud 2s. I know that in terms of sound quality they are quite similar and I dont really care that much about mic quality cause all I want is my friends to hear me, so the only thing I have no idea at all is the clamping force, so if anyone that has tried both can give me their opinion it would be greatly appreciated. (srry for my bad english :P)

So, I wake up one morning and get ready for work. Get to work and log on to my router (Mikrotik RB2011UiAS) and server at home, hop on to the logs and found that someone in the Netherlands is trying to log on to my server! I go into overdrive and start putting in a rule to block the IP and block RDP to the servers in question. They start to ping my router to see if it responds but it won't, so it seems that they gave up after that. Looking through my logs it's interesting to see what accounts they tried to use (XEROX, USER, USER1, SCANS, RECEPTION, even KEVIN of all people!) and how many tries they did with each account. I've now gone in and blocked the whole country now so I won't get any more requests from them now. My question to the people; what type of firewall rules/security do you run? How strict are you? Going through what I have now it seems that I need to make some revisions on the rules to prevent this from happening again.

About 6 months ago i but some files in a .7z file. Encrypted with 7-zip AES-256. I have a ruff idea of what the password is say for example how many special characters and it has the word "The" in. Also i know where the numbers in the password and ruffly how many numbers it could be between. What program or what could i use to crack this? Some sort of brute force that tries passwords rather than hashing? I'm probably just doing capitals in the wrong place for example but there are over 400 or 500 ways the capitals could go for example. Any faster way of completing this? Also the file is 18GB big so after entering a password i have to wait 15 minutes for it to extract between trying each password since it only tells me the password is wrong at the end of the extraction.

So I've recently upgraded from a GTX 1070 to an RTX 2060 SUPER. Everything is great, I'm even hitting 2010mhz boost clocks in demanding games. My only issue is when I play CSGO, my 2060S doesn't boost up AT ALL from its idle clock speed of 1470mhz. I play on low settings (for competitive reasons), 1280x1024 with everything on low except for effects and shadow details. But this wasn't an issue for my 1070. My 1070 would boost itself and provide me with 300-600 fps. I'm assuming that my 2060S doesn't deem CSGO demanding enough to boost its clock speed up from its idle clock speed? It's odd because the first 10 minutes of playing CSGO with the 2060S at my settings provided me 500-800 fps (overkill for most, but that sweet frametime and minimum input lag is noticeable for me), but soon after the 2060S clocked itself back down to idle the clock speed, providing 250-300 fps, and won't budge after client and computer reboots).I have the latest chipset, bios, and drivers installed. I'm using AMD Ryzen Balanced power mode and I've set the power management in Nvidia Control Panel to "Prefer Maximum Performance". Is there a work around to force my 2060S to boost its clock speed when playing, or do I need to increase my video settings in CSGO to force my 2060S to boost?Build Specs:https://pcpartpicker.com/user/phyLo/saved/Mw9whM

Hello, fellow members of the linustechtips forums; I am having trouble getting the caps key on my Razer Blackwidow X Chroma to register properly. At times it works like a normal key, where I don't have to apply much force but for the majority of the time, I need to apply extensive force to even get it to register. I am afraid that this will eventually break my keyboard as a whole. My Blackwidow X Chroma is approximately 1 year and 6-7 months old. Possible causes might be because of ants, since I have seen a lot of them on my desk lately but the issue persisted before I found ants on my desk. I am also using custom white PBT blank keycaps for specific areas of the keyboard. What should I do to get this problem solved in the most efficient way? Thank you all in advance.

Hi, my name is Leon and im planning on Upgrading my System. Im currently running: Gforce 760 GTX Intel I5 with 2x3,0 Ghz if i remember correctly 2x4gb ddr3 and some gigabyte motherboard and planning to upgrade to: ASUS Strix Z270F Intel COre i5-7600K Palit GeForce GTX 1060 3 or 6 gb (not entirely sure yet if the 6bg is worth it - opinions please. and im only buying one of those when they go back down in price they went from like 225€ to 350€+) Would the new system be stable and most importantly would it bottleneck on a part. Also would there be better options on some of the Parts. I am only planning on replacing my Motherboard the Gcard and the Processor since the rest of my stuff like my ssd and hdd's and case and powersupply are still fairly new Thx in advance Leon

Hey Guys, does anyone know of a capable Brute Forcing Programm for decrypting a .rar achive? For some backround (this is a little bit embarassing): In July i bought my first bitcoins, so I have made an account on Bitcoin.de, downloaded a wallet (Bitcoin Core), encrypted this wallet and backed it up. Everything there was to know I wrote down in notepad. Like the password of bitcoin.de and the passphrase of the bitcoin core wallet. When everything was finished and I had the bitcoins in my wallet, I took the txt file and saved it in an archive I also encrypted. Here I used a combination of some of my standard passwords. This combination I wrote on a piece of paper and put it in the drawer of my desk which can be locked. So, now bitcoins are going through the roof I wanted to at least get the money I spend back, so the rest of the bitcoins can do what ever they want (i wouldn't lose any money). But since then I moved to a different apartment and the desk I used where I stored the password for the .rar archive broke so i replaced it. I thought I would remember the password but any combination I checked is wrong but I know the passwords I used for this combination. So does anyone know something that can help me with my problem? I was thinking about a programm which takes a list of your own words and checks every combination there is. Most of the brute force programs I found are really shady or only allow 4 digits which is way to short. I am looking for a password with a length of 19 to 24 digits and every PW I used in this combination is either 7 or 8 digits long (plus some symbols which are also known). I know that this can take ages but I really would like to try it and since I know parts of it maybe it will work. Regards Marc

Ok, so I have some nasty virus that no antivirus can get rid of that I have tried. It's a browser hijacker and there might be others. I can't reinstall windows from a USB, tried many times (see my post below). Every time I open the settings and press reset, it just doesn't do anything. I restarted my pc in safe mode and tried it, I did the thing where you hold shift and restart it, and it just ignored the shift and restarted normally instead of bringing up the troubleshooting menu. I have no Idea how to fix this, please help.

I was looking at the new Logitech series and it's marketed to have less click force, but all reviewers that I've seen don't really mention it at all. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with them of any kind and knows if it's just marketing junk or not. Also, are there any other mice with less click force? Also, light mice are what I want. I have a fingertip grip style and my g400s is heavy.

May the force be with you all. K so recently I was discussing with a friend of mine about who the most powerfull sith lord / jedi knight ever is based on overall abilities using the force and light saber dueling. I think Vader is extremely powerful and very underrated since the movies made him look very weak but if you have read the extended universe you will know his true power. (He easily crushes an AT-AT with the force...) Also for everyone who is gonna say "but he got rekt by Luke..." I respond with: He didn't want to kill Luke since he was his son and Vader was in an internal conflict on wether to help Luke or remain loyal th the emperor. Also did you notice how Vader felt Luke and Palpatine didn't? That proves Vader's force supperiority. Also he was a very good user of telekinesis (watch end of ep 3. where he has just turned into Vader and crushes a room without really moving his hands. (and that is before he perfectioned his force usage and learned new combat styles to adapt to his suit.)) Anyway the decision is yours... Vader or Sidious, Helmet Guy or Grandma, NOOOOO or MUAHAHAHA, ugly face or... well... ugly face 2.0... anyway u got the message... VOTE! #Trump2017

So I'm looking ahead to my second build build and i face a delima. My first build went perfectly, but i had my cousin to help me build it. During the build, he put in the cpu and now looking to my second build, he's over seas and not able to help out. Im worried about putting the cpu in myself as my hand are quite shaky, not tremors or anything big, but still noticeable and I'm worried that i might break the cpu pins if i align it wrong. Can cpu pins break by just mis-alignment, if not, how much force does it require for them to bend? Do you think i should go for it myself or just buy the parts and have it made for me? Oh and i plan on using a i5-4690 cpu if that makes a difference. Thanks!

I was looking for an inexpensive SSD to be used as a boot drive in a new PC and the Corsair Force LS caught my eye. I'm specifically looking for a cheap but reliable drive. It's going to be used as a boot drive only and 60GB will be enough. Does anybody have experience with this drive? Would you recommend this drive, or could someone recommend and alterative around the same price point? After looking up reviews I'm fairly happy with this as a budget drive, but I always like to check with the wealth of experience on the forum Thanks in advance, Fantom.

I'm overclocking an ASUS Radeon 7950 HD GPU with MSI Afterburner. When I run OCCT (my preferred stress test; with error check enabled), my core voltage (VDDC) measurement fails to go over 1.11V as shown in GPU-Z; I have my core voltage set to 1.2V in MSI Afterburner. The test ends up coming back with errors, which basically means the clock is unstable Question #1: Could it be unstable because the GPU is not receiving enough voltage? Question #2: If I enable "Force constant voltage" in MSI Afterburner, could this potentially solve this issue by feeding the GPU the volts I originally set (1.2V)? Question #3: Is it safe to run "Force constant voltage" on an overclock that's used for maybe half of the day at most OR a 24/7 overclock? Question #4: My core voltage (VDDC) measurement remains at 1.188V during idle (on desktop, surfing net, etc), but it goes down when I run a GPU intensive program like OCCT. Why doesn't it stay closer to 1.2V like I had originally set it? Thanks!

Hello Everyone, I'm currently making simulations in Solidworks and am confused. I have to double the force on a pulley and change the dimensions from the original pulley, in order to withstand the new force. My hypothesis: If I multiply all the dimensions by the cubed root of 2, then my volume will double and the results of both simulations will remain the same, because I doubled the force and the volume of the second experiment. Does that make sense? I figured if the volume of the object doubles along with the amount of force, then the results should remain the same. When i ran the simulation, it didn't go as planned. Why? Thank You so much!

Just wondering if I can do anything about my Force 3 120GB to try to get some (not particularly important, but annoying to lose) files off of it before I try to RMA it. It's about 6 months old now, and it just suddenly wasn't being recognized in the BIOS or even in my laptop, SATA dock, etc.

I was looking for a Logitech G27 wheel in a couple of shops, but suddenly it seems that it is available nowhere. When I checked the Logitech website and went to the steering wheel category, it said: no products available in this category. Does anyone have any information on this? Has Logitech completely stopped making these steering wheels or is the next big product waiting to be launched?

Corsair has announced their new Corsair Force LS Series SSD, powered by the Phison SATA 6Gb/s controller (as opposed to the LSI Sandforce SF-2200 controller being used on the rest of their lineup). It will be available in 60GB, 120GB and 240GB options with desktop and laptop upgrade kit options. specs: The Force Series LS aims to provide great performance and value and comes at $69.99, $109.99 and $199.99 for the 60, 120 and 240GB variants respectively. Source: http://www.guru3d.com/news_story/corsair_launches_force_ls_series_ssd_with_phison_controller.html It definitely seems like Corsair has Samsung's new 840 EVO SSD in their crosshair. let the battle for the cheapest, fastest, most reliable SSDs possible begin, it is most definitely welcome :D.
