Hey, So I'm in a bit of a conundrum right now, to make a long story short I built my dream PC last year and now I'm facing an unexpected big move across the Atlantic a month from now. I really don't want to sell the expensive parts only to re-build after my move, and I don't really trust that nothing would break if I just ship the whole system to my new address, so my next best option is to take as much as possible out of the case, grab an extra suitcase and transport individual parts in the original boxes on the flight, and buy a new case to rebuild the system at my new location. My questions are, first of all, which parts would be safe to keep on the motherboard during transport? Right now I'm thinking to disconnect the GPU, RAM and CPU cooler, but keep CPU and M.2 drives installed. Do you think this would be safe assuming the motherboard is packed fairly tightly in it's original box? Secondly, just in general, has anyone else transported a PC like this in the past? Any particular problems or gripes you've ran into in that case? I realize this is a bit of a weird question with probably no clear answer, I'm just trying to gauge the risks to minimize potential damage to my parts as much as possible while also packing things as compact as possible. Any help would be much appreciated! For reference, this is the full build specs in question: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/QvwTRK

Does anyone know what the best way is to transport a 27" monitor on an international flight? I have the original packaging, but that is rather large and would fill a whole checked bag. I have considered some options, but still am not sure about them. bring on board (to big really) wrap around clothes and put into checked bag - (might get damaged?) check as special item (costly $100 or so) sell and buy a new one once at destination (time consuming and I will lose money) don't bring a monitor and just use the laptop monitor alone and maybe loose productivity Thanks

It's an outdated old build, but I've been using it well for several years now. Finally got all the hardware to use as a flight simulator after finishing my mandatory military service. Excuse the messy cables... I added the blue logo sticker of my university on the side of my case. I think it suits the case and colors well. I'm an aviation student in Korea, and I'll finally be heading to the USA to get my first flying license Specs: Intel Core i7 7700k Gigabyte Z270M-D3H Corsair Vengeance LED 16GB DDR4 (8GBx2 @ 2666MHz) Gigabyte GTX 1070 FE Cryorig C7 Cooler EVGA Supernova 750 G2 with CableMod Custom Cables Samsung 960 EVO NVMe SSD (250GB) WD Black HDD (1TB) Corsair Air 240 Case Hoping to help my brother build a much better system after he finishes his military service too.

Hi there, I am creating a flight simulation that focuses on the realistic delay due to varied factors. I'm not an experienced programmer or with unity. I have a simple UI element within my game that displays the plane's (UAV) altitude, speed, distance from a base point and the latency. My issue is that the script used for this was in JavaScript and im no expert, so I need help with converting this to c# to get the figures as they update within the game, displayed on screen! Here is my code: var plane : Transform; var b : Transform; public var item2 : GUIContent = GUIContent("Altitude"); public var item3 : GUIContent = GUIContent("Speed"); private var guiSkin : GUISkin; var Alt:int; var Spd:int; var Bloc:int; var latency: float; var Distance:int; var obritalSatellite:int; //var PosZ:int; function OnGUI(){ GUI.skin = guiSkin; GUI.Box(Rect(0, Screen.height-120, 200, 120),"Plane"); GUI.Label(Rect(20, Screen.height-80, 100, 50), "Altitude"); GUI.Label(Rect(15, Screen.height-60, 100, 50), "Speed"); GUI.Label(Rect(80, Screen.height-80, 100, 50), Alt.ToString()); GUI.Label(Rect(80, Screen.height-60, 100, 50), Spd + " m/s".ToString()); GUI.Label(Rect(10, Screen.height-40, 100, 50), "Base"); GUI.Label(Rect(80, Screen.height-40, 100, 50), Distance + " m".ToString()); GUI.Label(Rect(10, Screen.height-20, 100, 50), "latency"); GUI.Label(Rect(80, Screen.height-20, 100, 50), latency + " ms".ToString()); } function Update(){ Alt=plane.transform.position.y; Spd=plane.GetComponent.<Rigidbody>().velocity.magnitude; Bloc=b.transform.position.z; //distance measurement from base to plane var distance = Vector3.Distance(plane.transform.position, b.transform.position); obritalSatellite = 70000; Distance = distance; //delay calculation latency1 = (obritalSatellite + Distance) *0.000003 + 0.120; latency = latency1; } My main issue is converting the function Update to c#. Any help would be ideal, Thank You. Regards, Andre

Been playing this game for the better part of 2 years now dreaming of the time when i could start doing serious stuff, and i finally got my big break, after grinding away ranks/reputation for the empire at Cemiess station for what seemed like forever, i finally got offered a long range passenger mission to the holy twins for 24 million credits . Spent the last 2 days flying out there and just arrived this afternoon, using my Asp Explorer with almost nothing other than advanced discovery scanner. Used the services of Felicity Farseer the engineer before i left, and got my range up to 39.7 ly per jump ( 34.5 with passenger cabin and scanner) i managed to complete the 12,500 ly journey in 12 legs of 30-32 jumps each, covering each 1000 ly leg in around 25-30 mins, which i think is pretty good going, some people do these missions with like 20ly jump range i've heard Now i'm here i thought i would make the best of it and found at least 10 systems with black holes, one of which has 3 of them ! Im not gonna risk any cowboy stuff this far from home, was tempted to ride the neutron highway for a while but havent had much practice with that and don't want to lose all that discovery data crashing into a neutron star. i did a quick bit of napkin maths before i left which gave me approx 750 jumps round trip, which could bag me an extra 15-20 million in just the discovery data alone, so here's hoping i don't fuck up on the way back haha, there was a big sketchy patch of brown dwarves about half way that worried me a bit Pics attached, i slammed into a blackhole nearly spitting coffee over my monitor, it terrified me. And also found a lovely neutron star to pose with. What are you Commanders up to at the moment ? CMDR Darklanky

Hi all! Right now I need some of opinions about where to live. Right now I live in Puerto Rico and the hurricane that happen was completely devastating. I personally want o go to Canada or USA since in USA and Canada I can get more options on buying stuff and well, better community and all. Is Canada great to live? Or the USA it's better or normal? Our family doesn't go outside that often, we do not spend a lot of money and we are nice people. If our desicion is Canada we will have to do some magic tricks or something because there's no family there and our grandma lives in USA. If I do not answer quick it is because we are using public wifi and speeds are from 50kbps to 150kbps. Thanks a lot in advance.

I'm planning on taking my 1070 with me on a flight, but I lost the bottom rubber cover for the pcie connector, so to add a bit of protection, I was wondering if I could place electrical tape onver it before I put it back into it's original box. Update: Thanks for the responces and reassurance guys. Now all I need to deal with is if the Airport Security TSA guys will let me in with it.

From what I can tell, there are no direct flights from where I live to Vancouver for the weekend of LTX. It looks like my best option is to fly into Seattle, then find transportation to Vancouver from there. Same thing but in reverse for the return. What are some good transportation options for three adults to get from Seattle International Airport to downtown Vancouver in the same day as our arrival?

Hey guys^^I´m looking for a new headset to replace my old Turtle Beach P11 (lol) and I prefer a wireless option, because I noticed I´d really benefit from that. Now my two choices would be the HyperX Cloud Flight and the Corsair HS70; both are priced around the same right now on amazon. I tried to do a little research but it occurs that the two headsets never really have been compared to each other, so I´m asking you guys. What do you think? Which headset should I get and why? Thanks for any answers ^^

I’m not entirely sure if this is the right place for the topic, if isn’t let me know where I could post this instead. But in a year or so I’ll be travelling for college and I was wondering what the best way to carry my PC is? I’m using the NZXT H510i case. Should I check it in flights or is it possible for me to put it in carry on?

Hello. I don't want to use a flight simulator where it is not realistic at all. Is there a CAP Certified flight simulator?
-
I used the search tool and couldn't find an existing Topic. Thought there should be a thread to discuss Flight Simulator given it's such a massive game to launch which really stretches what is technically possible at the moment. Also if anyone has found work arounds for any of the common bugs I'd like to hear

Hi, i am flying to Dubai and India this week because of a business trip from the enterprise i work for. Just wanted to ask what i can take with me in my backpack and what not. I have my laptop that should be fine because colleagues also flew with their laptops in the backpack. But i have components such as RAM and a SSD to carry with me and also i need my Toolkit. So shoudl i put them in the backpack and carry them with me or put them into my suitcase and leave them there? I know that i can take like chargers and stuff in my backpack but i really do not know about the tools, the RAM or the SSD. Would be great if someone knows how to deal with this maybe someone traveled to India or Dubai before with such stuff. The safest would be to just put everything in my case and just check it in and only have my laptop with me on the plane. Thanks in advance Toby

So I am going to the mall to look for a new luggage set for my trip I'm going on in a few days but have absolutely no idea who makes good luggage. I personally think hard shell luggage is crap because it seems like one heavy thing on top or one good drop/bump and it would crack. Anyway does anyone have luggage that has lasted for years and if so what brand? I don't mind spending more for good quality, long lasting luggage that can take some abuse from the apes who handle luggage at airports.

Hey everyone. I'll be moving in about half a year so I wanted to get the routine down beforehand. I have a massive build that is heavy as all crap, put in a Raidmax Vampire bulky case (which I'm planning on upgrading to a MasterCase Pro 5). I'll be flying across the country on 2 connecting flights. I know to remove my GPU and rad ahead of time and put them in separate boxes (preferably in carryon), but what should I be doing with my case/mobo? I don't have anything remotely big enough to hold my monstrosity, should I just pack it in a box or remove the mobo first? Would I put it in the unusual baggage for extra safety, or should I just kiss my computer's safety goodbye as soon as I get on the plane?

original article The Old: General fight was a feedback system which felt sloppy because it tended to overshoot. Ship profiles are a fixed part of the game and cannot be adjusted by adding different parts to your ship. No other flight mode available, acceleration is always perfect, afterburner only boosts acceleration and maneuvering thrusters (mavs) work fine even without the main engine.

Hi guys! I am having a flight soon, and I really need to get my pc with me. I built a mini-itx system in Silverstone ML07 (same footprint as RVZ01), and I was wondering if I can bring the system in that case on plane as carry on. Is it possible? Or what can you suggest as solution? It would be perfect if I had only carry on luggage. Thx

If you had a decked out rig for this, (tripple monitor, Beast PC, for car logitech g29 with shifter, for flight Saitek Pro Flight X-55 Rhino H.O.T.A.S.) Which would you choose.

Looking for a sub $50 flight stick to get into simulator games. I have narrowed down my choices to two sticks: the Thrustmaster T16000M and the Thrustmaster Hotas X. If anyone has had experience with one or both of these and could give some information on them I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

Could be classed as technology, so I posted it here. Original Source: Not much to say about this since I have only seen the video so far, but jet packs (that we think of, not quad rotors ect), are finally a reality and have been shown off working in the video above. The pilot (Don't know the name yet, will update when found out) managed to complete a successful 10 minute flight in NYC. The flight was carried out over water, but that was for the pilots safety and not for the jet pack to operate. EDIT: The pilots name is David Mayman, who has been working for over 25 years to make his dream a reality with the help of Nelson Tyler, who has been working on the idea for over 45 years. In the video you can see the pilot take off, do some fly-bys of the Stature of Liberty, and landing on what looks to be a barge. He also gets a bit daring and increased his altitude in front of the Statue of Liberty to higher than he was when he was in motion. My Thoughts? HOLY BALLS! I want one sooo bad, but it will take along time before it becomes commercially available to the public and you would most likely have to pass a pilots test. But the fact that this is do-able now, imagine in a few years time, with newer technologies and shrinking the size of devices while still keeping the same power output. Your Thoughts? Please leave them down below! EDIT: Visit the companies page, it covers their plan, how many revisions and tests they have done ect. http://jetpackaviation.com/ EDIT: Let me be clear, Jet packs have existed for a long time, some dating to around the 1950's, but this is the first one I have seen that is relatively small, easy to carry and has a fair amount of range (10 minutes is not long but it is decent grounds for improvement) Some people are saying this will not become publicly available, and you would most probably be right, in this form. In the future, I have no doubt that stuff like this would be available, but going back to what I said earlier, you will most likely have to pass tests and obtain qualifications for one. Also, yes there will be the stupid people who may ruin it, but there are stupid people who ruin driving. The brains on this planet out-weigh the stupid, in my opinion. So give humanity a chance, please? Have a little hope?
