I'm at a loss... Honestly, I don't know what's causing the issue and I'm reaching out to this forum to hopefully get some help. Basically, what's happening is that shortly after I boot up and log on to my computer, I get started either playing a video game, browsing the web or whatever then, regardless of what I'm doing, I will get 1-3 different instances of my computer bogging down to a crawl. This manifests itself as a 2 second window where I get: time stretched audio (if I'm doing something that involves audio) everything is slow and laggy extremely low framerate Once the 2 seconds is over, my computer is responsive and fast again. This is extremely irritating for obvious reasons, the least of which being, it shouldn't be happening. Here is the best summary of the things I've tried. (I don't remember everything I've done since this has been going on for over a year now): Reinstalled windows approximately 3-4 times. ran "sfc /scannow" an unholy amount of times ran several disk cleanups ran virus scans from Kaspersky, BitDefender, Norton Power Eraser and SuperAntiSpyware I did a memory dump of my computer and did a deep analysis of it by following this guide from PC Security Channel Is your PC hacked? RAM Forensics with Volatility - YouTube (all tasks and IP addresses seemed clean) upgraded my harddrive updated graphics drivers and made sure all drivers and chipsets were up to date disabled any unnecessary startup programs and services as well as tasks in Task Scheduler changed power management options in windows and in BIOS settings resulting in no effect I figured after wiping my computer multiple times, that surely would have cleared out any issues. To be clear, I have tried running Windows after a fresh install without going crazy on the task killing and whatnot and still have had the issue. The most I do after a fresh install before testing is update all the drivers and make sure windows is up to date. I've googled the ever-loving crap out of this issue and both Google and Microsoft are no help, always suggesting either sfc /scannow or some other basic troubleshooting step. The best idea for a cause I've been able to come up with is that maybe it's the insanely high amounts of security audits going on in the background. I attached a screenshot to give an idea but it's like over 3000 audits in a tenth of a second. I know CPUs are fast these days but that still seems crazy to me. Within the details of the security audits, it seems like it's checking something that has to do with my Live account and the email addresses associated with it. More pics below. Any help would be appreciated. It's literally driving me insane.

I have a weird issue. I bought a Seagate Desktop 8TB External Hard Drive HDD – USB 3.0 a few years back and it started to have bad sectors, so I ordered another one and replaced it. After a few months of usage this error started to pop up in the Event Viewer: The IO operation at logical block address 0x0 for Disk 4 (PDO name: \Device\00000051) failed due to a hardware error. I contacted Seagate and got a RMA and have have had this drive since March 9 2023, two days ago the errors started to appear again. The weird thing is that I am on new Motherboard and CPU, and fresh install of Windows 11, this error does not appear on other computers. Crystal Disk Info shows no errors and the drive works fine other than that error. It also seems that the errors start if I boot with the drive’s USB plugged in, if I plug the drive in after boot the errors don’t appear. I don’t think the drive is failing, any ideas? ****UPDATE: Seems to be an issue with any external drive plugged in to usb *** ****UPDATE: So just had 2 different usb HDD plugged in, I rebooted and only one caused the error in the event manager, I unplugged that one and kept the one that this post was talking about plugged in, rebooted no errors, maybe it fixed itself, maybe I have usb port issues? This post continues from here. I crashed again today. it was suggested I should go into event viewer, after my crash. I did. Haven't exactly been using event viewer before and I was wondering how I can read the event viewer event. I found it, its a "critical" error. Event ID 41, which just means it crashed the pc. I have attached my event viewer crash. I hope somebody can tell me which component is causing my pc to crash, or give me some useful information for troubleshooting. Since my last post, I have cleared CMOS. Just removed 1 of my 2 ram sticks and gonna wait for it to crash again and switch to the next stick. I will be replying in the comments, however it might be a while, because I am gonna go cook dinner. Thank you, Magnus. Crash.txt

So recently I've noticed that my Computer randomly runs into hard stops and freezes, at first i assumed it was a driver issue and reinstalled all my drivers about a week ago, but this didn't seem to have an effect on the issue. Today i was watching the RL 351 stream and getting some work done at the same time when the stream stopped and the window went black, I'm using Opera GX, so i tried to just close it and reopen it but upon closing the window and attempting to reopen Opera, nothing happened, the load symbol popped up next to my mouse but the window never reopened. So i opened task manager and force closed all instances of Opera, after closing the last instance my whole PC froze, no big bad blue screen, i could still control my mouse but couldn't interact with anything. When I attempted to CTRL+ALT+DEL the screen flashed but it never changed to the ctrl alt del screen. So i restarted my PC using the restart button on the case. Once the PC restarted i opened event viewer and this event was all over the place, when i investigated the error had been occurring since 8/25/2021 and in the details of the error it said that disk 5 was unexpectedly removed. The weird part is that I don't have a disk 5 anywhere in the system, I searched in msinfo and nothing labeled Disk 5 showed. My question really boils down to, Is this something i should be concerned about? Also, why is Disk 5 in the error but i cant find it anywhere else? And if i should be concerned what is the fix? Thanks to anyone who helps in advance!

Hey everyone, I made a post a couple of weeks ago describing WHEA errors on my 5900x due to a suddenly unstable undervolt (PBO2 curve optimizer). It was stable for a couple months, but started having errors after a chipset driver update. I noticed that while the first unexpected reboot showed a WHEA error in event viewer, following reboots showed nothing. But the behavior was the same until I decreased the negative offset from -30 to -25. My question is, why don't I see WHEA errors in event viewer anymore? Additionally, there are no other error logs describing why the reboots happen.

So, a few days ago I caved and bought a 30L Omen because I've been wanting a new GPU for over a year, and finally had the chance to upgrade. Unfortunately, I couldn't manage to get my hands on just the GPU, but I settled for an Omen 30L that came with a 3060. Anyways, this morning I wake to a computer that has freshly booted. Interesting, because I did not shut the machine down, and have it set to not shut down (just to sleep) even when inactive. I've been using the PC for about a week with no issues, and have full intentions of just using several of these parts as upgrades to my previous build. (Came with 1TB M.2, 3060, and a 5600 and want to keep all 3) The issue is listed below. It states that it is Event ID 41, but the issue is that there is no bug code to reference, and there is so much information online about it I'm not sure where to begin. I have already tried the following: sfc /scannow through Command Prompt. However, I'm worried it will happen again as it has now happened two times (the first time I thought maybe I just shut off the PC and didn't remember, but upon viewing the log I can see that it happened once three days ago, and again today.) Both of the times the computer was entirely idle, albeit after hours of use. It hasn't done it while in game, only when I have been away (so far). So I'm unsure if there is some crash that is occurring that I do not see, but I assume there is not because the Event Viewer doesn't list anything. If anyone has any idea as to what this could be it would be greatly appreciated. I do not want to keep the $1,500 PC (have another eight or so days to return for refund) only if it does not work or has some insane performance issues. After all, my last PC worked completely, but I wanted better frames/performance. Below I have listed the error information from the Event Viewer. I can also say there is nothing wrong with the temps of the PC, and there is nothing wrong with the storage device of the PC. I have used CrystalDiskView to check the life/integrity of the M.2 and it says that it is operating at 100%. The temps are 45C CPU, and 30CGPU at idle. Under load the CPU goes to 55C and the GPU goes to about 48-50C. I have not seen either of them go above 55C, and I check relatively frequently. (usually right after I get out of a game, or right before I close it to get an idea of baseline since I just got this machine) Log Name: System Source: Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power Date: 3/6/2022 9:45:41 AM Event ID: 41 Task Category: (63) Level: Critical Keywords: (70368744177664),(2) User: SYSTEM Computer: Destroyer Description: The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. Hello, i'm running a ryzen 5900x which has pbo2 enabled and its basically overclocked, but as you know, it takes quite some time to dial in the settings correctly to where a single core doesn't crash. I have had problems with core 6 and 7, they are usually responsible for the crashes so far and a few days ago i decided to install windows 11 but now i can't even view the APIC ID for which core is causing the whea errors because windows 11 is f*****g garbage does anyone know how to get detailed information out of event viewer? "A fatal hardware error has occurred. A record describing the condition is contained in the data section of this event." is not enough

Over 3 weeks ago, my PC that has been built and working fine for almost 3 years now started shutting down and starting up by itself. This started one night after being shut down as I was about to sleep. That day it was used regularly and presented no failures. Last hardware change was on December as I added another SSD for storage. Haven't touched the pc since then. Did no install any program/upsate that night. Shutdowns seem to be completely random as they can happen 15 times a day, just 3 a day or sometimes there is a large period of no shutdowns (24 hours aprox). Windows Event viewer showed and has been showing this couple of error every single time the pc shuts down itself. Some came from Microsoft Windows Tech Support, some others from an Independent Advisor at a Microsoft Forum. Last week, I sent my pc to a technician in order to check what is going on. To our surprise, my pc never turned off nor start up itself from Monday to Thursday. Each day he left the PC on for half of the day, and the other half off. None of ehat I have reported happened. Sometime ago (too long) WInamp started crashing whenever I tried to save a change in my playlist. Around the same time I noticed Open Office would also crash whenever I tried to open a document with the menu, or use the Save As. i ignored this issue for several months, figuring my Windows install was somehow corrupt, and the issue only applied to some things with a file dialog box. Not all thinks, only a couple, Winamp is old, OpenOffice is cross platform, I figured they were both using some older OS call that was throwing the crash. More recently I had the notion of checking the Event Viewer. I ran Winamp and clicked "Save Playlist" so it would crash and had a look... The device, \Device\Harddisk0\DR0, has a bad block. Now it's not a great thing to see, I couldn't be stuffed reinatalling windows on a different drive when I'm planning on getting a new PC later this year, but: - How does a SSD (1TB Western Digital WDC WDS100T2G0A) have a bad block? - Should I worry? - Can I somehow suppress the error so that crashing programs ignore it? Truth be told I've lived for over a year with happening, and I've not lost a single byte of data. I figure the error is coming form the drives controller for some reason (maybe it has a bad bit of cache RAM?) Any info/advice would be appreciated. Jib

Hey guys I am looking for some help, as if someone could assist me in figuring this out it could save me a fair amount of money from having to replace any hardware ;-; So I have been having an issue for the past month or so. I have been getting random restarts during Gaming with no BSOD, only a Kernel Power 41 (63) Error code in Event Viewer after the system restart. Also all corresponding Bugcheck codes and Parameters are 0 in the event with also (70368744177664),(2) being the keywords associated with the error. Normally I would associate this with a PSU problem as I did have a failing PSU before with the same issue, however that restarted pretty much instantly upon opening up any game. Whereas this one is strange. I can play something like Hades for as long as a I want but as soon as the machine becomes pressured by playing something like Dying Light 2 (Random example) it can take anywhere from 30mins to 4hrs for a restart. In an effort to diagnose this I have done many things such as Reinstall and update all my drivers, reseat the RAM and test all memory with MemTest86, Updated my BIOS, Disabled C-States in the BIOS just to rule it out, Enabled XMP profile 1 for my RAM, Checked the health of both My SSD and HDD and even tried to force a BSOD in my settings to see if it would give me an error code. And all my tests have found nothing. Until Friday night, which was the last time I used my PC. When I decided to run an OCCT stress test, using the Power Test. It restarted within 10mins of running. I ran an automatic log with HWINFO and ran the test again, as OCCT doesn't show errors if the system restarts. If anyone has the time to look through this log and help me, it would be greatly appreciated! (It is in excel format as that is what HWiNFO automatically saved it as) Also the log would have cut off when my PC restarted again, so hopefully someone will be able to see what went wrong This is the second PSU I have had since 2017 and I really don't want to have to replace it again. It is the same brand and model as I had before. For Reference my PC Specs are: - CPU: Intel i7-8700k (3.7Ghz) Motherboard: Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Gaming 7 RAM: 32Gb Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3000Mhz (2x16Gb Sticks) GPU: 10Gb Windforce Eagle Geforce RTX 3080 CPU Cooler: Corsair H60 V2 Hydro Cooler PSU: Corsair 850W RMx Series Modular 80 PLUS GOLD Monitor: ASUS TUF VG289Q 28 Inch 4K HDR Monitor M.2 NVMe SSD: 2TB Samsung 960 Pro HDD: 3TB Toshiba HDWD130 7200 RPM (Used for Mass Storage as 2nd Drive) Thermal Compound: Arctic MX-4 Sound Card: Asus Xonar DSX (Installed but not currently being used) Wireless Card: 802.11 AC1300 867Mbps/5GHz, 400Mbps/2.4GHz (Installed but not currently being used) Thanks by the way Test1Log.xlsx

Hello, My computer is crashing whenever there is a load on both my CPU and my GPU, but both are stable on their own. This makes me suspect the PSU, but I wanted to ask for some more eyes before I went ahead and bought a new one.I would love to post dump files, but it's not creating them "due to error during dump creation". The actual crash is Event ID 41, source is Kernel-Power; the dump file error is ID 161 source is volmgr. Any help would be appreciated, and I'm happy to supply any info I can get. Hello guys, I am not a hardware expert, so I am seeking help here These happened to me recently and these ware what Event Viewer said 4th of March 2023 The description for Event ID 0 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer. If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event. The following information was included with the event: \Device\Video3 BusReset TDR occurred on GPUID:100 The message resource is present but the message was not found in the message table (screen just say no signal and my GPU missing from device manager until I rescan hardware, had to switch to the intel integrated GPU to see the screen) 6th of March 2023 Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered (twice in a day, screen froze and had to turned off my PC and these happened when my PC is on idle just showing desktop maybe with explorer open) I thought it may be something to do with the buggy NVIDIA driver, but that was updated on the 28th of Feb 2023 (I had rolled back to the previous version since then just to see if it makes any difference) So my question: Is this signs of my GPU is reaching its end? I bought it in 2019 and never overclock any of my hardware Thanks S

INTRO So Iv'e be in event viewer because i'm getting all sorts of bugs and i want to fix them. These bugs and *ahem* "quirks" are the following BODY This Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered (mostly the display just goes black for a bit. yeah... This The driver detected an internal driver error on \Device\VBoxNetLwf. (possibly related to the network crashing infact im pretty positeve it is.) This error can occur without the loss of my network connection. I do have virtual box installed and god knows what cofig for Hyper-V and all that but hey CONCLUSION AND THIS ( WHAT THIS POST IS ACTUALLY ABOUT) This post is about this "Name resolution for the name www.facebook.com timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded." I don't have a face book tool installed nor was it open in any browser tab this happened right when a frequent bug i have occurred a problem were my wireless dongle, (i'm working on it) crashes and I lose my connection to the internet. Not really sure if "crashes" in an apt description but hey. (unpulg and repulg is my go to fix) maybe its related I don't know maybe Facebook secretly owns Microsoft But I want to know what that error really means and why did i lose my connection (will update when i lose my connection and post the new error below) ( ) -----------------------------------------------

nvlddmkm driver error causing loss of image untli it recovers
bazookapanda posted a topic in Windows
Anyone have any idea how to fix "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered." event ID is 4101 -
Hi all, My computer crashes once or twice a day and I'm trying to figure out how to fix it. At first, in event viewer, the warning showed up as "Windows Kernel event ID 41 error The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first". I googled it and read a lot of the solutions. I was using a Xion 700W PSU, which has the worst reviews I've ever seen for a PSU (got it from a friend), so I thought it was my PSU that was busted. I invested in a brand new PSU and bought an EVGA 80+ Gold Certified G3 750W. The issue continued to persist, so it wasnt a power issue. The second thing I tried was to upgrade the BIOS' firmware. My mobo is a MSI X99A Raider ATX and I upgraded the firmware from P10 to P50. This definitely did something: my computer crashes a lot less frequently now but I'm getting new errors. Here's the summary of errors that I'm getting now: 1. Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered: only happens while gaming. Screen turns black as the driver fails and restarts. 2. Event viewer WHEA error "event id 19": happens at the same time as the above. 3. Windows Kernel event ID 41 error: same as before, PC still randomly crashes (ingame or out of game, sometime crashes when I'm staring at the desktop with nothing open except the usual background programs) I tried to tackle each of these issues. Here's a list of the things I tried (that I remember, I've been trying to fix this for months now...) 1. I tried playing with the TdrDelay, increasing it to 10 seconds. Didn't work. 2. I tried turning off TDR altogether by setting TdrLevel to 0. Didn't work. 3. I tried to disable Realtek Audio Driver and using only the Nvidia Audio Driver. Didn't work. 4. I turned off overclocking and am running the PC at stock. Didn't work. 5. I have DDR4-3200 RAM. I had XMP enabled to run it at 3200 MHz. I turned it off. Didn't work. 6. I'm using a GTX 1060 Gigabyte Windforce 6gb GPU. My friend has the same model and his PC works fine. We swapped for a week to see if the issue was with the GPU. Didn't work. PC continued to have issues even when using his GPU. 7. I set the BIOS options back to the recommended default. Now the back fan is blowing up a storm since the default seems to set it at 1500 RPM. Didn't work. 8. I cleaned up the whole PC (it was already very clean to begin with, I have a good case that's great at keeping dust out). Didn't work. 9. All drivers were already up to date. It's also not a temperature issue. The GPU is running at stock and the temperature is around 50 degrees (stays around 35 degrees when idle). I also had installed a ton of fans in my case for no particular reason. The front has a 200mm fan, the back and bottom have a 140mm each, and the top is loaded with triple 120mm fans. The CPU is at roughly the same temperatures as well. The only solution that I read that I remember not trying is to underclock my GPU. I didn't really feel like using an underclocked GPU, and I don't think I should need to with my current build. I also plan as a last ditch effort to reformat my PC, but I would like to avoid this option if possible. Here's a list of all my PC parts 1. Intel Core i7-5930K 2. MSI X99A RAIDER 3. I'm 5 hours into Night in the Woods. My last session was 20mins until it crashed "has stopped working" when I was afk. This is the only crash so far. None of my other games crash (yet). Only Dark Souls 3 (very rare) but I assumed that's down to the bad port. Can anyone analyse the Event Viewer details? Any tips or advice is great, thanks!

So, I wrote MSI support yesterday to see if they could help troubleshoot some specific event viewer errors and I just got an automated response with general troubleshooting steps that have nothing to do with what I was asking. Note that I never changed anything inside the computer before getting this issue. It was reinstalling windows and a bios update that happened before this started happening. This is the response I got: "check and make sure there is no bent pin inside the cpu socket. Please try with clearing the cmos setting on Jbat1 jumper/SW1 Switch or removing the battery on the mb out for 1 minute and put it back in with power off. Please test out the mb and components outside the case with mb box to support the board. This can prevent any short or grounding problem to the mb and the components. Try with swapping other components like the processor/memory/power supply/video card with other working system components to limit down and defective components installed into the system board. Remove all connection/installation of add on cards, drives, and extra cable connection from the mb. Try with bare minimum components installed only. If all steps have been tried and problem still persists then please kindly refer to our website for manufacturer warranty RMA info/request: http://service.msicomputer.com/msi_user/rmaform_p.aspx" I'm not having hardware issues! Everything is working great in that department. I've already tested all of that stuff and it's working fine. It's like they didn't even read my message. So, maybe you guys can be more helpful. Let me know if any of these issues are familiar to you and if you know how to remedy them. This was the message I sent MSI support: I'm having UBS disconnection issues and a few other issues. Sometimes they work fine, sometimes they randomly connect and disconnect, but every time I start my computer I can hear them connecting and disconnecting until it settles down and stops This happens with my onboard USB not just my expansion card. Here are some errors I'm getting in event viewer: -"Session "ETW USB tracing" failed to start with the following error: 0xC0000022" (I get this error every time I start up the computer and it comes up in event viewer pretty constantly while running too) -"The CldFlt service failed to start due to the following error: The request is not supported." -"App Container profile failed with error 0x800700B7 because it was unable to register the AppContainer SID." -"The SysMain service terminated with the following error: The request is not supported." I'm also getting an error that looks like it has to do with my Oculus rift which is probably unrelated: -"The description for Event ID 0 from source OVRServiceLauncher cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer. If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event. " I also had a hardware error in reliability history but that went away after restarting. Sometimes this happens when I start up the computer though and if I look in device manager, I have a yellow warning next to "Generic superspeed USB hub" which goes away if I reset. The other issue is that I'm sometimes getting a black screen upon startup where nothing does anything and I can't even see anything on screen. That goes away after restarting.

I randomly get crashes (not blue screens, however my monitor turns black computer momentarily powers off then starts back up (similar to a restart without the "restarting..." gui). Files do not save and usually cannot be recovered after a crash, I did check WhoCrashed and there were 0 logs relating to this issue. At first I thought it might be a RAM issue, I had it RMA'd and even with these new RAM sticks I have the same problem. One thing to note is even when I was running memtest86+ my computer crashed (does this rule out the driver issue?). PC Part Picker Link for my PC Specs: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RFBkHN Event viewer thing attached makes me inclined to believe its a PSU issue, any thoughts on where to start? (If you need me to post more screenshots let me know!) As far as I am aware this error started happening when I accidentally did something with the BIOS so I clicked "restore settings to recommended defaults"

help [Help] Win10 BSOD when running high processor load (?)
Darthagnon posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Greetings. I was wondering if anyone could please help me with my Windows PC bluescreening (or, in this case, orange-screening) on me. It has occurred most often when playing Monster Hunter World. The game freezes, the sound turns to electrical-type buzz, and then the computer screen goes orange with a sad smily and Windows says it's collecting error data (it ain't, it just sits at 0% forever). Looking at Event Viewer afterwards, there are a string of WHEA-Logger warnings, more or less one every minute for the time I was playing Monster Hunter, saying: A corrected hardware error has occurred. Reported by component: Processor Core Error Source: Corrected Machine Check Error Type: Translation Lookaside Buffer Error Processor APIC ID: 4 The details view of this entry contains further information. I uploaded the event log When it crashed before, the screen used to get green/purple lines all over it, like a graphics card problem, but after I updated all my drivers, that no longer happens. The green/purple lines also previously appeared rarely, when playing AC: Odyssey, or watching YouTube videos. My computer specs: Dell Inspiron 7577 Gaming, latest BIOS, OEM drivers, etc. GTX 1060 MaxQ 6GB, v431.70 Nvidia drivers (latest provided by OEM) 16GB RAM Intel Core i7 7700HQ, running Throttlestop undervolt (-0.1553V) (tbh I've wondered if this is the problem, too low voltage, but switching to my failsafe voltage profiles did nothing when I last tried). Any help or suggestions would be appreciated! -
Hey everyone! I'd love your expertise to help me solve this problem of mine. My system recently started freezing then displaying a BSOD when I would do anything CPU intensive. Specifically in Lightroom Classic CC 2020 and Photoshop CC 2020. The cursor would freeze and display would turn off. Sometimes it would give me a stopcode of: WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR. In my own efforts to troubleshoot, I disabled GPU acceleration in all of my Adobe apps thinking that was the culprit. It did not do anything. Event viewer in Windows has proven to be not helpful as it never records any issues at the time of the crash, just the improper shutdown after I am forced to shit the system off. In addition, I ran a stress test with Aida64, everything passes except 'stress cache' on the CPU. Oddly enough it passes when in safe mode. I did a full windows clean install and right after the setup screen the system just freezes and the display turns off. In safe mode again it is fine. Here are my system specs: CPU: i9-9900K RAM: G.Skill 64GB DDR4 24000 Mobo: ASUS ROG Maximum XI Extreme GPU: Asus ROG Strix 2070 8GB Audio: EVGA Nu Audio Pro (PCIe) Storage: Intel SSD 750 (PCIe), Intel Optane M.2 Memory Module, Samsung SSD Evo 840 (x2) Samsung SSD 970 EVO M.2, Seagate 12TB HDD PSU: Corsair HX850i Cooler: NZXT Kraken X72 Case: Phanteks Evolv X Latest drivers installed. Windows 10 64bit Build 19041.1 Any help or assistance to point me in the right direction would be most appreciated! ?
