Up until several weeks ago, I had no internet issues. I frequently lose internet access to all of my devices, now; wired and wireless. My browsers and Windows network adapter diagnosis say that the DHCP server can't be reached. I use an Arris SB8200 modem and a TP-Link Archer C7 v4.0 router. My desktop is hardwired to the router. I have tried the following: Rebooting the router (no change) Connecting the desktop directly to the modem (no change) Using a different router (no change) Using a different modem (no change) I used a new modem for a week and returned it after the first disconnect happened. Calling the ISP (no problem identified) Having an ISP tech visit (no problem identified) He checked the coax cables and grounding. Of course, the internet was fine while he was here. Rebooting the modem (this usually works, but the problem returns in anywhere from a week to 5 minutes) I'm going nuts. What should my next step be? What could be the root cause?

I've been plagued by this issue for months now. My hardware is an Asus ac88u running on the latest merlin firmware. Wan port is connected to my fibre modem. My computers are 1 desktop (ethernet), a laptop (ac wifi), 2 phones, an ipad, 1 android tv. I get totally random disconnects playing games, watching Netflix, video conference calls, or even just browsing one a single device. The disconnects don't last more than a minute, and will recover by itself. During the disconnected period, the web client for the router becomes unresponsive, and will timeout when requested / refreshed in a browser. This leads me to think it's either overheating and thus thermal throttling. Or it's somehow run out of memory? I need help designing tests to identify the issue. The router itself suits my needs just fine, I'd hate to replace it cos shits expensive now. Any idea if logs reveal anything? I have to admit I can't decipher it. It mostly looks like network packet information. not sure if this is the issue: Feb 21 22:46:26 rtl_fail: rtkswitch fail access, restart. For some reason I get random disconnects from my ethernet, the wifi works perfectly fine its just the etherenet. Ive checked the cable, replaced the cable, checked the wall adapter, replaced the wall adapter, tried using a diffrent wall socket, checking the router, turning the routrer on and off, checked the wall adapter at the router side, replaced the wall adpater at the router side, tried connecting to the router itself, updated the drivers, unistalled and reinstalled the drivers, checked that windows 10 hadnt had it set to "turn off to save power" or eco mode or what ever its called. It doesnt even have an option for it! Its really annoying as Im getting random disconnects in a games I play, in discord other people in a call cant hear me for a few seconds and then im back. The network controller is a Killer E2500 Gigabit Ethernet Controller in a Dell G7 17 7790. Its not anything serious and only happens every few days. but more often when im playing games, and even MORE often when im playing escape from tarkov. But thats likely just because of the game at that point cause everyone knows how touchy it is.

I recently moved into a new house that had 2 floors. After moving in I found out that my ISP's router didn't have a strong enough signal to reach the 2nd floor, so I decided to choose between an Extender, a Powerline and a 2nd router. After giving it some thought I decided that the best solution was to buy a 2nd router (TP-LINK) and put it on bridge-mode, that way I would have a wireless access point and a switch to connect my PC to. But when I did that I started getting random network drops on my wired and wireless connection form my new TP-LINK router (4-10 seconds but long enough to get you disconnected and BANNED from many online games). To fix that I tried the following: 1. Check my ISP's and TP-LINK router for firmware updates (everything was up-to-date) 2. Change the DNS servers to 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8 for secondary 3. Check ping between the 2 routers (0ms-1ms) as well as ping to game servers (32ms-61ms which is normal) 4. Make sure that I had Cat-5e cables from my ISP's router to the TP-LINK one and from my new router to my pc (200Mbps Upload / 20Mbps Download) 5. Check for CPU/RAM usage on both of my routers (25%-50%) 6. Remove most of my devices on the network 7. Reset both routers in case I accidentally changes a setting I shouldn't have 8. Making sure my ISP's router had a bridge-mode (which was st*pid because it was working) My specs: Router (TP-LINK): Archer C6 Router's Firmware (TP-LINK): Latest Router (ISP's): SpeedPort Plus Router's Firmware (ISP's): Latest Cables: CAT-5e Distance: ~20m Quality of the cables: 1.Good according to the website I bought it from 2. Used my ISP's cable for connecting the router (TP-LINK) to my pc Internet Speed: 200Mbps Download / 20Mbps Upload (tested from https://speedtest.net/) Latency Between The 2 Routers: 0ms-1ms (tested from cmd)

Manufacturers are making mainly usb 2 dongles to have compatibility with older systems and the transfer rate of usb 2 is still good enough for WiFi For years i had WiFi trouble till i realized that usb 2 devices need to go in usb 2 slots for optimum performance. I have always been putting it in the blue slots at the top for better reception.......... big mistake. Then i plugged it in a black usb slot and it works perfectly no drops, no disconnects in game, it is solid now. If you plug a usb 2 HDD in a 3.0 slot you will see that it drops in and out of optimum speed. usb 3 hardware can be put in a usb 2 slot no trouble.

Hey there guys, I've had some pretty heavy lag spikes for the past few months, mostly in Games like CS:GO, it would spike up to around 300ms and have a package loss of around 10-20% I need to connect over WIFI because I'm sadly not allowed to pass a cable literally 20 cm through the floor... So ... then i got a bit frustrated and did some testing. I tried it on other devices in my network which seem to not have any problems. I tried swapping to another router I had laying around which didn't change anything either. So i concluded it must be the WiFi dongle i've been using. It was a TP-Link TL-WN823N, which only had 300Mbit/s anyway, so i decided to buy a TP-Link AC1300 Archer T3U. I've been stuck trying to get anything to work the past 2 days, the dongle works on any other device i try it on (Also Windows 10 machines) But if i try to connect it either: 1.Disconnects the Device immediately (only happens when it connects to the 5Gz band) 2.Disconnects after a few minutes of use ( or atleast switches to "No Internet available") 3.Stays connected long enough but gives me pings of around 200ms constantly (seems to be between router and dongle because the latency is seen on the ping of the Standard Gateway) Well ... i hope someone one here has an idea, what i could try, i've pretty much did everything i know. I deleted the driver, tried different versions from the manufacturers website but still nothing. If you need any further information i'll try to provide it as soon as possible

My Xbox one controller disconnects immediately after turning on if steam is running. i have spent over a week googling this problem and tried all the tricks i could find on the net that linked it to geforce experience, vive/oculus (which i don't have) and some other programs as well as steam, but they either didn't work or only worked once and you had to repeat after every restart. now i actually have had and fixed this problem before, i found a forum post with a dll file you put in steam root that fixed it permanently, but i can't for the life of me remember what it was called or where i found it.. all i can find are the above mentioned workarounds. does anyone here know about this file and provide a link or point me in the right direction atleast?

After getting my pc fixed by a technic the other week, when I'm playing games I go offline for 1 second and then connects again. It's really annoying and would like to know why It's happening... Hey so I have had this problem for months now( about 2 months). My keyboard keeps randomly disconnecting. Im running Win10 and i hear the connected/disconnected sound all the time. But its not always like that, sometimes i can play weeks without it happening once then all of the sudden it starts, somethimes PC restarts help sometimes not. I have read that smbody had the same problem and he was using a Deathadder Chroma mouse ( i do aswell) and his mouse was the problem, i have testetd differnt mice and no mouse at all and it kept happening. Is my keyboard broken or having a short circuit sometimes? Btw. I wrote this with my phone because restarting my PC doesnt fix ithe problem right now.

I've no idea if I have asked this question before, but I have this problem now, so I am asking now... So, at my school, there are a lot of people using their laptops. But they never have any problem connecting to the WiFI, only mine will. If people are not using it, my wifi comes back itself. I have told IT teacher to check it out, but they never do so. Tried to reinstalled Wifi driver, unofficial WiFI driver, official wifi driver... not working. Once I opened my laptop, found out that one wifi wire is poped off. And I have soldered it back. I used to have that problem, for some reason it wasn't happening anymore. And I re-installed my windows, it comes back again. Here is my specs: Laptop name: Lenovo 500s-13isk CPU: i5-6200U GPU: Intel HD520 SSD: Samsung 256GB ssd WiFi: Qualcomm QCA9377 dual band wireless card. all the settings are default, and the driver is released in 2016 May I found out that if I connects to OpenVPN which is located in my house, wifi disconnects more frequently. Even without connecting VPN, yet is does not work sometimes. Guys, please help me.

Hey guys! I just built myself a new PC and I'm running into first minor issues, which are pretty annoying. At some point, when my pc is running for a bit, my mouse and keyboard will just disconnect randomly at the same time. The funny thing is that the LEDs are still lit up, but I can neither move my cursor nor type anything. After I physically disconnect/reconnect them, they work fine again. I also have an audio-interface and a webcam connected which don't seem to be affected by this, except the fact that I have to reconnect my audio interface after boot for my PC to actually power it. I'm using a Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite, SteelSeries Apex M750 keyboard and a SteelSeries Rival 600 Mouse. I didn't have these issues with my old PC so I suppose it is because of the motherboard. Are any of you guys familiar with this? I have mouse and keyboard connected to the USB 2 ports on the motherboard btw, if that makes a difference. Cheers!

Hi My Monitor acts as an USB hub with 4 ports that I can use for whatever USB device I need. I connected the mouse and keyboard to 2 of these USB ports on my display. Now, my Windows power settings make the monitor turn off after an hour of inactivity (the computer is set to remain active permanently, only the monitor turns off). Unfortunately, when it happens, the monitor won't turn back on when I move the mouse nor use the keyboard. The only way to have it to wake up is to connect to my PC via remote desktop or VNC. When I do this, I hear the usual windows sound meaning that USB devices have been connected. My best guess is that when the monitor turns off, the USB hub also turns off and the connected devices (mouse and keyboard) cannot turn the monitor back on since they are technically disconnected from the PC. An easy fix would be to connect those input devices ton an USB port on the tower rather than on the monitor. Alright... But is there anything I could do (in Windows power settings or elsewhere) to have the display to turn off after an hour of inactivity while its USB hub would remain active? Thank you very much in advance for your help and advice. Best, -a-

Greetings. About a month ago, I started experiencing issues with random USB disconnects/reconnects in all of my ports for my keyboard and PS4 gamepad. The peripherals in question would disconnect for a few seconds, and reconnect automatically (though sometimes the keyboard would disconnect permanently, and I had to run it through ports to get it working again. At the time, I chalked it up to my old (7+ years) components, which were an i5 3540 CPU, 8GB of DDR3 RAM, and an old z77 mobo. However, I upgraded a few days ago to a ryzen 5 2600, 16GB DDR4 3000, and a TUF X470-PLUS Gaming mobo. However, the issues still persist. If anything, they're worse than ever: Instead of disconnecting and reconnecting, the keyboard randomly gets stuck and repeats the same character until it reconnects. Typing out this post is a huge hassle. I've tested my peripherals on my wife's laptop and they work just fine, so the issue is definitely with my PC. So now my question is the following: Do different peripherals have different power requirements? This issue never seems to affect my mouse (Razer Naga Chroma), so I'm guessing that it requires less power(?). Also, given that I replaced everything except the PSU and GPU (a 600W EVGA unit and a GTX 1060 6GB, respectively), could the increased power requirements of this rig somehow worsen the issue if it is, indeed, due to a faulty PSU? Thanks in advance! PS: The PSU is about 5 years old. UPDATE: I just tested writing an article with my keyboard lights off and encountered no issues. Afterward, I tried writing another, but this time with all my other peripherals plugged in and encountered no errors. Lastly, I tried once again with the lights on and the problems immediately came back. Does this suggest a problem with my keyboard, or with the PSU? I checked all the lines in the BIOS, and all the voltages are within the accepted ranges.

?? #help !!!!! Does anyone knows a solution for USB disconnecting and reconnecting situations ? !!!! Problem is that I recently cleaned the CPU and the UBS ports in the back panel starts to disconnect! At first it was the mouse . It freezes but the power for the mouse is still flowing . When I connect it to another port the power doesnt flow to the mouse. But the System is fine. Only the mouse freezes and the system still running without freezing. I even tried another mouse but its still the same. Sometime it reconnects after like 10 minutes. The back panels works. The Sounds work and I have a Keyboard on old PS/2 port so the keyboard doesnt freeze. Then the Portalble Hard drives start to reconnect . that has never happened. All the front and back panels are the same. Now the ports get freeze right after few minutes in the desktop. The heat isnt even high either. Also uninstalled the USB drivers and reinstalled. BIOS updated ! Ports drivers are up to date from the windows and the Manufactures site. Even disabled the power plan for USBs that can allow them to shut down the power. I even disconnected the DVD drive thinking if theres a power problem. Reinstalled the CIMOS too. Even applied new thermal grease on the processor. The cleaning was not rough either. I brushed off the dust and blew some of it with a bicycle pomp. Didnt even washed it or anything. I cleaned it two more times after too. The mb is ASUS B150 PRO GAMING/AURA Board. Its being 2 years and few months since I got it. It has 4 ports of 3.0 and 2 ports of 2.0 . Also a port of 3.1 . *I wonder if its a chipset problem cause I here ASUS has that problem. Ive ran out of options . If anyone can tell a solution that be a life saver. Cause loads of work has piled up and this has pushed me to a point I no longer pissed off cause I am way over it. Thank you!

And then whilst that was happening my keyboard and mouse just shut off, I tried unplugging and plugging back in the keyboard mouse and headset but they had all just stopped working, no lights or anything. I had restarted my computer and the headset was still making glitching sounds but my keyboard and mouse were working. after changing my audio to the speakers from the headset and then back, There is no more glitchy sounds coming from the headset but as i am typing this my internet is disconnecting and re connecting over and over. Okay so ever since I got my new keyboard (Corsair K70), my mouse (Razer Imperator) will randomly disconnect and then maybe 15 seconds later it reconnects. I think it has something to do with the HID (human interface devices) service, but I cant for the life of me figure out what it is or how to fix it. I've tried all my USB ports and updated all drivers. Nothing works. Anyone had this issue or know how to fix it?
