While most people I talk to say they think a sentiant AI that can think and act as if it were human will be the one to ke ill us. Other I have expressed ideas that AI's like Terminator or the Matrix will do us in. I personally believe will get a end more like Horizon Zero Dawn's AI misshap. I am talking about the Farrow Plague not Hades. Additionally who do you think will have created this AI? I think Nvidia likely have a huge hand in it even if they did not mean to.

Hi all, I run a Ryzen 5 3600 with the stock cooler on an Asus Prime X470 Pro, and after upgrading to the most recent chipset release (2.13.27.501) I seem to be running hotter than before. I checked temps in Ryzen Master, and got idle readings around 65°C (no other programs running) and game temps in excess of 75°C. I have ensured a good thermal paste application, that my cooler is tightened as much as possible, and that my PC has adequate cooling. I tried setting an "undervolt" in bios using PBO by setting the PPT to 70 (down from 88 stock), but the change doesn't seem to register in Ryzen Master. Side note: There appears to be 2 settings for PBO in bios - not sure if this is specific to Asus or not but I don't know which one to change/which one works. I've read of people having idle temps in the 30s WITH the Ryzen 5 3600 stock cooler and I can't seem to get anywhere near that. What gives? Any suggestions on how to lower temps with bios tweaks, Ryzen Master tweaks, etc? Thanks in advance

msi aero itx 1050ti sudden death, what could be the cause?
Akkupack posted a topic in Graphics Cards
so as the title says, my beloved 1050ti has had a heart attack and promptly died. im going to give some details of what happened; i know it died, im just curious how. firstly this card is well maintained, regular de-dusting and repasting, never having ran graphically intense games or mined on. i was playing a game while listening to youtube when the whole pc froze, youtube kept making sounds as if nothing happened but the game wasnt, so i cut power and booted back... 5 mins later, same thing. running furmark right after boot froze it in about 2 seconds (cofirming the cause being the graphics card). it had a small overclock (no overvoltage, but 75% power limit) which i removed, but that didnt change anything. leaving it alone for a minute after freezing, it would display strange things, for example the bottom part of the screen seemed to be filled with small rectangles containing random parts of the image, then changing to a random solid color across the whole screen. i noticed little horizontal lines of green pop up the moment it freezes, too. eventually, it wouldnt even boot: starting up the computer would have the monitor say no input for way longer than usual, after which a simple black screen would appear and remain forever. the crashes look similar to what youd get when overclocking memory too much, which leads me to suspect the death is memory related (maybe vrm? this card has zero vrm cooling). what exactly causes this kind of death? old age, somehow? overheating? do gpus usually just die like this? what are your experiences? -
I've just disassembled my laptop for cleaning purpose. I plug out the hard drive, network adapter, also the motherboard and all the cables that attach to it. After cleaning done I installed back everything to it place and try to turn on. It doesn't show up anything, just the power indicator is light up. My hard drive is not running means it didn't boot up anything. Nothing i can do.

So I bought Schiit Fulla 2, pretty good little guy, with a lot of exposed holes in chassis for ventilation and apparently for tea. Spilled some herbal tea on that thing (really not much) it popped and is broken now. I live in Eastern Europe and pretty much nobody heard of Schiit so nobody can really fix it without proper schematics. Sending it to US (where I bought it) would cost me nearly half the price of a new one + possible out of warranty repairs + shipping back, might as well buy new one. What do? Should I just send it to a tech shop for them to try and fix it even if they break it or should I just bin it? Sell it for parts? While it's not that expensive it's still a lot of money for someone like me and I would like to salvage this boi and make it work again. Any advice?

Is there any place in your PC where you can stick your hand in while the PC is turned on and die?

Hey guys, so i bought a RX-480 DEVIL from amazon arround february, and it worked kinda fine, i started noticed that some games will cause a Weird Crash that will result in No signal and peripherals powering down, but the system will remain on, monitor will only show a black screen as no signal is being outputed, well i Atributed this to a Failing Really Old (5 years PSU) that ive been hammering with loads of diferent components, a Corsair CS 650 80+ GOLD well needless to say, after a while the PSU short circuited and Fried my motherboard too when it died (the new psu was actually in transit and arrived 2 days later) well i upgraded to a New Ryzen system with an EVGA 750W BQ BRONZE PSU not Great, but Good enough for what i have (for some reason the 750w was cheaper than the 600w ones) that aside, i rebuilt my system but the fucking shitass blackscreens keep Hapening @ fucking random @ really diferent games for not so called reasons, killing floor, player uknown battlegrounds, BF1, world of warcraft, it has happened on almost any game, it sometimes happens 5 times a day, and sometimes doesnt happen at all in a week, im going to buy a cheap GPU and RMA my RX 480 as it still has warranty, fuck, everytime i buy something fuccking new it just dies, any tips? theres no crash logs, theres no anything, it will just go to a black screen

Last night I was streaming Life is Strange and my computer had no issues whatsoever. A windows update was scheduled for 3am and when I woke up this morning I was greeted by a "blue screen of death" with a frozen 50% and the error message of "Machine check exeption" i restarted my computer and i was able to use it for about a minute with no problems but after that minute, it blue screened again. In that minute i have been able to check the drivers for my gpu and my Hdd and my SSd and they look fine. Ive never done any overclocking but i checked my Bios too and it seems that i can stay in my Bios menu for as long as I want without crashing. My cpu temp seems fine staying around 32°C. I dont know what to do. If you can help, thank you very much, i want to get back to streaming as soon as possible. PC specs. Recently built a new rig for gaming and I keep getting blue screens randomly while the system is in use, running the following: Ryzen 9 3900X Radeon RX 5700 XT 32GB Ram running at 3000 Mhz The two errors I'm consistently getting on the blue screens are video_scheduler_internal_error as well as video_tdr_failure. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, and before you say it yes I have already updated all of the drivers. Thanks in advanced! -Nicholas Pelfrey

I have no idea how this happened. I understand wanting to collect money that is owed but there no need to be a dick about it. If its an automated message maybe its more understandable but I'm confused since the letter mentions that the person is deceased so its not like its a completely confused bot. https://gizmodo.com/paypal-dying-while-owing-us-money-is-unacceptable-to-u-1827499095

Hello all! Just looking for some advice or to see if anybody else has experience with a similar issue. It has me properly scratching my head! haha. So, last Wednesday, while my PC was running completely at idle, sat at the desktop, my Corsair SF600 power supply failed with a bang and a flash of light from the rear of the PSU itself. Tripping the circuit breaker for the sockets on that ring. This appeared to kill the unit all together. Wasn't able to get any power to any of the components until I connected up an older power supply, an AX750, externally (as it doesn't fit in my SFX case). I one-by-one reconnected each component and tried powering the device. To my surprise, everything was fine with all of the components hooked up. Ran a couple of hours of Prime95 and Unigine Valley simultaneously with no issues. So I shrugged and attributed this to the heatwave we are currently having in the UK that must have pushed a very heavily used 3 year old PSU over the edge. So I ordered a replacement. The next day I installed the replacement SF600 and i was off to the races. However today, 5 days after installing it, the replacement unit appears to have failed. The PC, this time while streaming a video from 4oD, powered down suddenly. Followed by a 'clunk' from the power supply. Sounded like a safety shut off to me. Testing would seem to agree as cycling the power switch on the PSU would allow me to switch the PC on for a split second. Then it would power back down immediately. Seems to be a protection cutoff. I have tried powering up the PC with this 2nd SF600 with just the 24 pin (ATX) and 8 pin (CPU) connected. Still exactly the same results. Only powers on for a fraction of a second. The PC is now running fine again using the AX750 as an external power supply sat next to the tower. No stability issues running stress tests or games. Could anyone here suggest a line of investigation? I'm confused as to how I have managed to kill 2 Corsair SF600's in the space of a week... Amazon are already sending a free replacement for SF600 number 2 and I'm concerned this will just pop as well after just as short a life span. Would you guys think the 2nd unit being faulty is more or less likely than one of my components being at fault? The PC is on a surge protector. Maybe this could do with replacing? Maybe I'm experiencing unclean power... So many avenues to go down. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

A 44 year old Russian man has died, while he was playing a VR game. He was playing Star Wars VR ,when he fell and crashed his head onto a glass table, resulting in a massive head wound. Not knowing how serious his injuries were, he continue to play the game until he died of blood loss. His mother discovered her son's motionless body on Thursday, when she went to visit him. https://www.trymodern.com/2905/man-accidentally-kills-himself-playing-vr-video-game

Ok so recently got shadow of war and im telling you this bloody orc as cheated death like 5 times already. He just doent stay dead, he dont know whats good for him. Im I doing something wrong? Why does he keep coming back and anyway to stop this? Like a way that kills to make sure they dont "cheat death"? ps pretty good game so far although can be overwhelming with number of orcs around mission area. eg doing mission fighting like 20 orcs and a chief or whatever and bloody turn a corner while killing them and boooomm another 20 orcs around a came fire decide to join in.(killing target makes them all run away tho).

Why will a PSU kill you? I have read a lot of articles about this but I haven't understood them fully... Would somebody be able to explain it to me? I mean I know CPU's draw anywhere from 60 to 80 amps these days, for instance mine draws around 76 amps overclocked and running prime95 and it's an immense amount of current. But Can someone explain the math and facts to me please? Thanks in advance ^.^

A friend of mine got a BSOD last night that said KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR (cdrom.sys). After that he booted back up and was informed that there was no OS on his HDD, followed by "ERROR: No boot disk has been detected or the disk has failed". Okay, so dead HDD, right? The thing is, it's from a trustworthy brand (WD), is less than a year old, and he takes good care of his PC and hasn't used up even close to the whole TB on it (like 15%). So is this just a freak early death, or could it be something else? I'm about to pop over there and have a look, what should we try? Thanks.
