No sound, speakers shut down, sound starts playing, speakers pop and then start playing sound.
Guest posted a topic in Audio
Hey ya'll. I come back here with hopes to solve an issue I am facing but for Gods sake I cant figure why is this happening... Sooo I got new speakers with subwoofer and the problem I have is that when I play audio, it works fine, but if there is even just 1 second pause, speakers go to some form of "iddle" state and then when sound should start playing, subwoofer goes with super annoying POP sound and actual sound starts playing a second later... I dunno if that is the speaker feature or windows problem but its very annoying and I kinda want to fix that... This way I cant hear discord notifications cuz all it does is loud POP and it can be literally anything, discord, steam, windows notification or just out of nowhere it pops and goes back to its "iddle" state... I want to eliminate that "iddle" thing so the speakers would be on all the time... I dont care about power savings and whatnot... -
Summary Cricut recently announced changes to their policy, expecting users to pay $10 a month for unlimited uploads, Which cannot be stored locally. Free users will be limited to 20 uploads a month. A lot of projects use 5 or 6+ uploads, severely limiting the use of the machines for free users. Previously crafters only needed to pay for access to cricuts images and projects. Storing locally is not an option without also using their cloud storage. Some users are attempting legal action against cricut. In the hopes of forcing the company to reverse their decision, or at least allow local storage of designs, without uploading. Quotes My thoughts On the one hand, I feel disappointed by the company that was supposed to be "for crafters by crafters". They are essentially forcing most users to either pay the subscription or be extremely limited for an expensive machine. On the other, I understand servers are expensive to run. However they should allow users to store locally if they don't want/need the benefits of cloud storage. Anyone know a generally consumer 5-axis CNC machine that can cut through harder steels? Doesn't have to literally be desktop but generally speaking at least a little shy of 5 figures. I know of ones that can do softer steels and aluminum and softer titanium alloys and whatnot but I can't get a definitive yes or no on harder metals. Anything even close? Coming up in the future?

So as the title says, how does one measure the distance from point A (Lets call point A the CPU Enter hole) and point B (Lets call point B the GPU Exit hole) I thought about using a length of string similar to how you used to use it to measure distances on a map (Long ass piece, you'd lay the string across the path and mark where bends and such are to get the full length as if you were to walk it and not just measure 'as the crow flies') However is there a better way to determine how long the length should be (I'm going to be bending the PETG tubing, not using fittings.) EDIT Inc answer! Anyone looking at this for help? Look at this video and this kit, it'll help you to measure exact differences!

Hello all, I was thinking about cutting a large square out of my pc case's side panel. My school's DT department has a laser cutter and I could most likely get the cut done to near free. I was wondering any consequences or potential risks which could cause issue. How easily is it done and should I do it? I don't own a cutting saw or anything so I couldn't do it myself Thanks for any help Will

a while back i purchased a Asus Strix audio card for my gaming PC. when i installed it, their was an audio output but the audio timing to frames were off by a considerable amount during cut scenes and not as much during game play. In addition to this, the audio would just cut sometimes and then come back on with not fair warning, and the cutting was not very periodic from what i remember. when the most current update was installed i didn't notice a difference in performance or a lack of cutting. i am using Windows 10 and the card was described to be able to be used on windows 10. I'm wondering if the drivers need Adobe or even Java to make them run smoother or if those are really necessary to make the drivers run. in rare cases the computer would crash on start up or during updates when the driver was installed but once i uninstalled it from my computer, the lagging and crashed stopped. i purchased the card in hopes it would take miner stress of the graphics card to allow max performance but so far it is turning out to be a bigger headache and wast of $100 than it is a benefit. if nothing else now i just want it to work so i didn't waste my money on it.

Hey guys, I'm a few months at most off of going ahead and starting my watercooled build, and I have hit a snag. Basically, I want to know if you can cut Bitspower PETG with a PVC cutter. More specifically, the type of PVC/Soft Tube Cutter Jay (from JayzTwoCents) uses in Paul's (from Paul's Hardware) Hotbox 2.0 Build Log (he states that it's husky, and this is the only thing that matches). I'm planning to get both the Husky one and the Klein Tools one, however I just wanted to check if it would also work with my Bitspower 12mm PETG. I realize it works with the PETG in the video, but that is EK PETG and I know that in some cases PETG is more prone to crushing for some brands. If anyone knows it would be much appreciated, since I will probably switch to Primochill PETG (Which I know works since Jay uses it in Skunkworks). Thanks in advance. Hi guys, cutting right to the chase, there was recently a power outage in my area while my computer was on. its surge protected and works fine apart from this. when i started my computer and loaded into windows, i realised my fans kept running at about 40 to 50% and then cutting out and stopping. not all of them, just system fans. however when im in bios, fans respond correctly, predictably and can be controlled. i used speed fan to see whether windows was just playing silly buggers but i wasn't able to alter the speeds of the fans or stop them from turning off. I also couldnt change the rpm of my pump or other working fans. tried AI suite 3, no luck with that either. the fans are brand new noctua industrial that were working fine so i don't think its them. plus it affects all the fans the same. short of doing a fresh install of windows or clearing cmos im at a loss of what to do. and windows reinstall isn't really and option right now.

I have a pretty old Acer aspire from 2011 and I have connected my 5.1 receiver to it but the sound cuts out for a second all the time. It happens completely randomly and I'm running out of ideas. I have tried googling the issue and tried almost everything without any luck. For example I reinstalled the drivers, swapped ram, stress tested to see if it's related to high cpu usage, checked the cables, changed output format etc. There is no problems at all when I have my ps3 connected to it so it shouldn't be the receiver. This problems only happens with the digital output, headphone jack is fine. Any suggestions? Edit: Seems it cuts out way more when watching a movie. The cpu usage is usually at 100% then. But the problem is still there even with low cpu usage.

I have fix my headphones but the cable is just too compact and hard to cut, there's 5 cables going in it and I had cut its end by biting it, really. I only have the tools shown in picture, help. (and my finger to show the scale of things)

Hello all! I'm looking to make a custom HTPC using a console case, but an infection in the case requires me to cut off (looking from the back) the left-most I/O connectors (typically the PS/2 and 2 USB) at a minimum and, if possible, that corner piece of the actual board. I'll be using an mITX board. Does anyone know how safe it is to do either of these things? Do mobo manufacturers tend to place extra circuitry in this small corner of the board, or no? Thanks, Nifty255

Laptop usb ports randomly cutting out
Lord_Karango17 posted a topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
So I recently did a reinstall of windows on my laptop in preparation for using it as a daily over the summer. After this, I notices something fairly quickly. I use a lot of external media (2 external ssds and 2 external hdds), and while these were being used, the usb ports on the laptop would cut out for a few seconds. This happens over all the usb ports, as my external keyboard goes dark, and my mouse stops working as well. Razer does not have any specific usb drivers, and I installed all the drivers that were available (excluding the graphics related ones that i got off nvidia's website). After a bit of research, a lot of people said it was a usb 3 power saving measure derping out, so I disabled anything related to usb power savings, and I also disabled "legacy usb support" in the bios to no avail. It just cut out on me while typing this, because origin opened in the background and accessed the hdd. -

Hi! I'm currently making a film in Adobe Premiere Pro, however I've encountered a problem. For my project I need to cut out a circular area of one my mp4 files and have that area act as a normal video throughout a period of time. It needs to be moving, and not static. If necessary I can also use After Effects if required.

Hello everybody I am going to be doing some very extreme mods to the Phanteks Enthoo Evlov. This is for a build with very clean aestetics and my mods will reflect it. I will also be getting a custom paint job done, a grey on the outer panels (In 2pack paint which is what cars are painted with)and black on the inner ones(powder coated). All of the mods will be very strong as they are all going to be made out of steel or aluminium and welded to the case. These case mods are going to cost about $2,000 in materials, labour because I am not able to do all of these case mods myself and paint. Here are the case mods that I have started planing. Front internal panel The plan is to mount a 360mm alpha cool radiator on the front panel as marked above. This will mean that these tabs need to be cut off and a piece of aluminium/steel welded to the flat surface. This is the front panel dust filter and it will need to be expanded to allow for the 360 radiator to breath. Here are the push pins that are currently holding the front fan filter to the front panel they will need to be replaced and relocated because they are in the path of where the radiator sits. Front panel Exterior Front Panel has a hole that needs to be filled it is 3mm aluminium. It needs to be flush with the outside surface. Side/back panel exterior panel More holes to be filled Rear panel I need to make a cover panel to cover the area shown here and needs to be welded to the back panel. Here is a quick one I made up out of acrylic to show you what I meant. Top internal panel This panel feels abit thin and weak even when it was in case with rad and fans attached needs some reinforcements to strengthen. Weld a sheet to the back of this panel with the needed cut outs. Mid section Weld a cover plat to this cover panel. it's just to cover up for neatness just to clean up the aesthetics. Motherboard tray Cover panel to cover the motherboard tray next to the motherboard with small space or cut outs for GPU and 24 pin cables, This part may need to be extended somehow to reach the inner front panel because of previous mods to the front panel. Side panel with window This is just a simple window expatiation so you can see the whole inside. Just what is in the planing for now I will keep you all posted, loved reading all your coments.

I have a Red NZXT Phantom 410. I am looking to mod the side panel so there would be a bigger glass panel. What would be the easiest way to go about doing it on my own? My main issue is figuring out what to use to cut it, and how to get a clean, straight cut. The problem with cutting it is that the cut won't be on a flat surface. The line where I want to cut it is where the fan mount bumps out a little, and I want the cut to be straight on that line. (Look at pic for clarification). Another thing: I am also looking into getting a psu cover. Is there any place I can prebuy these, and if not what would be the easiest way to make one myself? Thanks in advance!

Hi Guys! So I just got my second GTX 780 and am now running SLI and loving it! These are not reference cards but the ASUS DIrect CUII models. Obviously my temperatures are now higher than before but still very much okay I guess. The absolute highest I've seen is the top card hitting 70C (158F) in Crysis 3 @ 5910x1080 (Surround) and I'm thinking of modding my side panel to have one or two 120mm fans blowing directly on the cards. The problem is that it's a windowed panel (quite thin acrylic) and I have no chance of getting spare parts here in the Netherlands. The case is a Corsair Obsidian 750D. I've tested temperature with the side panel off and with the front panel off. With the side panel off I did not see and improvement... it was actually a bit warmer. Front panel off made no difference but I think if air would hit the cards directly I could see an improvement. What do you guys think? Have any of you done a similar mod and will it help? Or is it better to keep it like it is and avoid possibly destroying my side panel window. Thanks for the input .

Hi everyone, I was wondering if someone knew how to make a custom window or more importantly a custom cut in a side panel. I would like to cut a design into the side panel of the case so that the window looks like a lightning (i plan to have a frosted window with yellow lights). I have never modded a case before so I was wondering what would be the best way to do this. Another idea I had for another computer was to cut a lion or other semi-intricate design and was wondering if this is even possible at home or would it need to be sent to a shop or laser cut?

Hi guys, I'm currently searching for a programm which can CUT (certain parts out of) videos. The use case scenario is the following: I'm using NVIDIA's ShodowPlay (in Shadow Mode) to save the last 5 Minutes of game footage I've just played. But actually I mostly only need the last 30-60 seconds. Does anyone of you know a programm with which I can extract these parts without having to re-encode the video and therefore losing quality? OS: Linux / W8 Thanks in advance for all suggestions!

Hey forum! I was considering the idea of modding my old pentium 4 rig for the fun of it and to gain some experience as in the future I might have to mod my main pc to allow more fans on the side (I will eventually go for crossfire and the gpus are too big to allow a fan in the only location available in my case's sidepanel). The problem is that I've never done anything of the sort. 1) I have no idea of what to use to cut pieces of the case off (screw holes are easy), and I don't know if fan holes are better left with some sort of grid on or just big holes where the air is supposed to go in (or out). 2) If I have the choice, are there any real counterindications to having the fans be on the outside on the case aside from space considerations? How would I go about applying fan filters? Do I really need them? 3) Lastly, in case I decided to go for a window (be it full sized or just partial), what material is best used for the transparent part? since it's a "for fun" mod I would like something that isn't very expensive, it doesn't have to be the prettiest thing in the world as long as you can see through it and won't break by staring at it. Can I mount any fans on the window itself?

So!, I found the H440, and drooled, and wanted and craved it.... and have preordered one for myself ( Now removed my preorder and got my money back. ) What does one do when your dreams of a case got smashed ?, Cry ? Curse ?, why yes of course you find another case that has similar aesthetics and similar dimensions. and start cutting. Dual 360 rads ?, no problem in a 600t that i had laying around, still waiting for the radiators & ress to arrive before i make the final cuts
