So, A new version of the Radeon crimson driver is available (17.3.1). I have 17.2.1. When I open Radeon settings and try to update (I tried both express and costume upgrade), it asks me if I want to "exit radeon settings and launch the installer", I click yes, it loads for a bit, then stops. Then it says "Unable to get installer file to launch the requested page" at the top of the radeon settings window, under the menu bar. How to fix? All help appreciated! GPU: RX 480 CPU: i5 4690k RAM: 1866 2x8 HyperX Fury DDR3 Storage: 250GB Samsung EVO SSD Hi, I've been experiencing a lot of issues in many of my games while playing in windowed or windowed fullscreen mode. The game experiences very bad stuttering even when there isn't much going on in the game. As soon as I switch to fullscreen, everything is buttery smooth. Very perplexing. Here is one thing that I noticed...Whenever I end the Radeon Crimson process and proceed to launch a game in windowed mode, everything is smooth again. I suspected it was just a bad version of Radeon Crimson and decided to install a different version. Still got the same issues. So far I can only get things to work in windowed mode by ending the Radeon Crimson software...any ideas?

Hi, I bought the Sapphire Nitro+ RX470 4GB and whenever I install Radeon 16.9.2 or above, suddenly my GPU does 100% usage and I need to downgrade to 16.9.1... Can anybody please help?

OK so I play a game called World of Warships and the highest anti-aliasing is FXAA which IMO is crap, there is no MSAA or anything so I want to force better AA through my crimson drivers which does not work. No matter what setting of MSAA or EQAA I have it on does not affect the game. I have tried every driver that is compatible with my R9 390 but none of them work. any ideas?? BTW I have disabled in-game AA when overriding. Any ideas??? Specs: CPU - I5 4590 GPU - MSI R9 390

This is the error "The instruction at 0x####### referenced memory at 0x########. The memory could not be read." This used to happen when playing PUBG. Closing the amddvr process solved it. Recently it started coming up when shutting down the computer: I go "shut down", the pc starts to turn off and then it gets stuck on that page that shows a program blocking shutdown and asks you to force shutdown, with that same exact error message. It's starting to become really annoying, especially considering I'm on a basically clean install of Windows7 on a new Samsung EVO SSD. Pic related is the error. Anyone had this same problem?

I just updated to the AMD Crimson ReLive driver update. Now I can't overclock my GPU in afterburner past the stock frequency which is 1040 MHz. It doesn't even give me the option. I cant oc memory either it only allows up to 1500 MHz which is stock. Any other AMD users having this problem? Is this normal with driver updates?

Hi, I've got some weird stuff going on concerning AMD's GPU drivers... I've tried looking on the forums, there are some similar problems with the RX480, but I've found nothing that solved this particular case. I'll try to be as complete as possible. Now, I'm not a complete novice, but I'm no PC wizard either. So, any tips are welcome. First the build: CPU: A8-7600 APU with Radeon R7 integrated graphics @ 3.1 GHz (no OC) GPU: Gigabyte RX480 4G @ 1290MHz with current driver: 17.11.1 Crimson (no OC) RAM: 8 GB Hyper X Fury DDR3 MoBo: Gigabyte GA-F2A68HM-H PSU: 650W from Be quiet! Storage: 2x Sandisk Plus 250GB SSD + 2x 500GB HDD from Hitachi, but also Apple branded!? Sidenote: Both the SSD's have windows 10 installed on it. The problems persist on both versions. Case: Gigabyte GZ-X1 Windows 10 x64 Displays: LG-freesync screen connected via HDMI and some ancient square Acer monitor, connected via a Display port to DVI adapter. (This config might be relevant? I don't know) The story of how these parts came together to form this machine, has long been lost in history; idek myself, but it exists! Did I miss anything? So, what is going on with it? The current graphics driver installed is version 17.11.1 When updating the drivers, to anything since Adrenalin (version 18.xx.xx), at first everything seems fine, games run fine, nothing unusual. I tried the latest driver at the time 18.12.2 but also one of the first Adrenalin drivers released, with the same result. Untill the system reboots, then everything goes wrong. When it reboots, the windows logo shows up (On the Acer screen, not even the LG one) the dual boot menu passes, then windows logo again, and then a black screen. No login window, not even a cursor. Windows didn't seem to think the system failed to boot. Explaining everything I tried at this point, would take ages, so let me skip ahead to where it gets interesting: I learned that the black screen is not a black output, there is no output beyond the windows flag. I tried a lot of things, and it took me a while to figure this out: but the display signal doesn't stop, it jumps from the GPU to the unused output on the motherboard. So at this point, the PC is kind of useable, it's just running on the APU's graphics prowess! Which is horrible in comparison to an RX480 ofc. At this point, only installing drivers older then Adrenalin with DDU seem to get the RX480 going again. So here's the question: Why does the APU hijack the systems output, when there is an RX480 available and the latest drivers are installed? Do I need to tell the system to use the RX480 in some way? Is my RX480 simply no longer compatible with these drivers? If sow, why does AMD's software recommend me to update? TL;DR: With any driver since Adrenalin edititon, PC uses APU's graphics instead of the dedicated GPU.

I was having problem with my graphics card when i played Fallout 4, it was having huge framerate drops almost 10 seconds or less then the computer crashed with a blue/black screen being black or with blue/red/black stripes. After i saw it imediatly i quit fallout 4 (the driver that i was using was 17.2 Crimson). Then when i opened a video, went to youtube, or anything the computer just crashed with the screens as i said before, then when i restarded the pc crashed with a black blank screen. After i saw it i imediatly disconnected all the cables of the computer and cleaned it also i reaplied the thermal paste since the one that was there was a cheap one and i bough a better one, after all the cleaning i put all the cables on the computer and powered it up and the same problems were persisting all over again, when i was about to loose hope i google about the problem and they told me it could be the driver of the graphics card thing i din't believe at first, i asked in many computers shops of my country all said the same thing it's my graphics card or ram, the ram i doubt since i used memtest on them for 24+ and showed no problems with them. Then i started to believe on it and uninstalled the graphics card and used DDU and the computer starded to work fine without any problem. What i am confused is that i fixed my problem with a simple uninstall, having everyone saying that the graphics card was the problem and the ram as well. PS: I had problems with the GPU because i moved it the PC is on and the same thing happen but that time was different the pc graphics card was super hot when i turned on the computer and the i couldn't do anything on the computer it would shut off even while i did nothing, i solved that problem replacing the thermalpaste since i had like 1,2 without replacing the thermalpaste in the graphics and i also did it on the cpu, also i used a hairdryer directly to the CPU of the GPU to try to fix the solder that could be either damaged of broking by elevating to high temperature and resolding it again.

I've picked up my RX480 over a week ago and running it on my system has put unneeded problems with displaying a cursor properly. 1. Playing games for a while corrupts the cursor. Great. 2. Start menu makes it invisible for a second until it displays again. Disorientating. 3. Not showing in fullscreen if the game is using default windows cursor. The f. I'm seriously getting annoyed, all the solutions people provided for this apparently archaic problem are just either temporary or just flatout make another problem appear. Most don't even work. It pushed me to use CursorFX but i uninstalled it since it doesnt work on fullscreen. WHAT DO I DO TO MAKE THIS TORNMENT END.

Ok I've had this for a seriously long time. Every time i try to upgrade my driver to version 16 and above, I get a mini stutter every 2 seconds. This literally makes my device useless. It's an AMD a8 7410 apu from HP. Here is a link to a support thread on AMD: https://community.amd.com/message/2746260#comment-2746260

Recently I've been getting graphic driver crashes, so I checked if there's a new update. I updated Crimson to 16.9.1 and now it only crashes (sometimes) on Twitch when I switch to fullscreen or the other way around.. Is it just me or are you also having issues with the latest drivers ?

Hey I'm having some issues with MSI Afterburner and AMD Overdrive. So before AMD Crimson came along, I used MSI Afterburner to OC my card. Here is some quick information: Mobo: ASRock 990FX Killer CPU: FX-6350 @ 4.7Ghz PSU: Sentey MBP750-HM 750w GPU: MSI R9 380 GAMING 4GB GPU2: NVIDIA GT 730 (disabled in device manager) (use it for DIRECTV 2 PC because it's the only card that I have that features screen capture protection) Im running the latest AMD drivers as of this post. The stock speed for the card is 980Mhz and while using Afterburner, I would be able to get a stable OC of 1142Mhz with the Voltage slider set to the max. Once AMD Crimson came out and the driver installed on my PC, I probably (can't remember) navigated to the Global Overdrive panel under Gaming => Global Settings => Global Overdrive, and accepted the liability statement from AMD. If I use Afterburner now with the same settings, the core clock will flux between ~800Mhz and 950Mhz. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and settings in hopes that it would cause the liability statement to pop up again, in which case I would decline it to keep Overdrive off, but sadly this was not the case. I'm able to achieve an OC of 1141Mhz in Overdrive, but it is very unstable in certain games (but not all) that were fine before). I was wondering if anyone would have any ideas as to why this might be happening. Took me a while to address this issue.

Hey all, I am running a laptop and if I am trying to update the crimson drivers post 16.7.2 my laptop will just freeze upon reboot and shutting down. I get this message in event viewer after shutting down manually: The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly. Kernel id 41, Task category (63) with bugcheckcode 0. I have tried a lot with the chipset drivers and intel management engine, I also tried some power settings adjustments and uninstalling the sata driver from intel. I am running a laptop with: i7 4700mq, 24gb ddr3 ram, 500gb seagate hdd, 480 gb ocz arc 100 ssd and a HD8970m/ R9 M290X in crossfire. I have updated the vbios mxm from clevo. I run a custom bios with premamod. Anyone know what to do about this? I tried refreshing my windows 10 installation but to no avail might reinstalling windows 10 fully be the option? I have tried sfc /scannow in command prompt but even with the recovery image it did not succeed. Don't know if it has anything to do with it. Kind regards, Mergpijp

Hello guys!,I am going to be buying a AMD Radeon r9 380 and I can't find a detailed video/article explaining how to delete all the drivers properly.. do I use the Crimson install manager or Device manager to delete it all? I don't trust DDU uninstaller/any "non-major" third party companies or AMD clean Uninstall utility because it kills your USB ports.. I have heard horror stories on the internet Thanks! Have a nice day!PS: any good video links will be GREATLY appreciated and I use CRIMSON drivers Specs: i5 4460 3.2 ghz r7 360 oc 16 GB RAM

Hello friends! I was wondering if anyone else with crossfire 7970's was having problems running certain games like Rocket League. When I updated crimson a while ago I had to revert back to pre-crimson drivers because Rocket League when launched in fullscreen would flicker along with my other two monitors. If anyone knows exactly why this is happening or any tips I would greatly appreciate it. My System: AMD 8350 AMD 7970x2 Crossfire 3 Monitors Windows 8.1

So I was wondering if you could use both manufactures programs in one computer by having a card from both companies. Nvidia has that sick shadowplay and Amd has the new cool stuff and I want the best of both worlds.

Hi, So I've got my new GPU in my system (R9 390X) and there's 2 Crimson driver options on AMD's site: Version 15.12 (WHQL) from 12/17/2015 Version 16.3.1 (NOT WHQL) HOTFIX from 3/17/2016 Which one do I install? Clean install BTW. Help is gladly appreciated!

Hello, I have a r9 390 and I would like to automatically over/under clock my GPU depending on the game. Crimson has that feature but when I look at the core and the memory clock speed, it doesn't change per game. I have over clocked the memory to 1600 MHz and the core to 1127 MHz. Using the 'global' settings in crimson. Thank you for your time.

I've just gotten the notification from AMD Crimson that there's a new driver available. However, since it's just some VR stuff and support for the new Radeon Pro Duo I don't care about I don't want to update. I remember in Catalyst there were multiple buttons in the update window, like "Skip" and "Later" etc. but in Crimson I only see a link to the patch notes and "Update Now". I also checked through the settings and I see no way to skip driver updates, so can someone tell me whether it's possible to outright skip driver updates in Crimson like it was in Catalyst? I can dismiss the notification manually, it's just that it reappears every time I start Windows, which is super annoying.
