Hey all I was hoping someone can tell me where i can get a motherboard plate similar to the one Jay used in skunkworks ans well as a mid plate... I've been browsing around online but haven't had any luck finding a good and decent looking pate, I'm almost considering having one CnC'ed I want to Buy a 900D so i can venture into a custom watercooling.... I'm aiming for something similar to Skunworks but don't know where to get all the parts required my current PC specs are as followed: Case: Corsair Graphite 780t full tower (white)PSU: Corsair RM750I MB: Asus x99 Strix GamingCPU: Intel core i7 5820k (overclocked 4.3GHz)CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i v2 AIO water coolerRAM: Kingston HyperX 16GB (4x4Gb @2666MHz)GPU: MSI GTX 970M.2: Samsung 950 evo (256GB)SSD: Kingston HyperX (480GB)HDD: WesterDigital 2TB Black

I am searching for a case to really build up over time a water cooling system. I currently have a built PC so I would just need to buy fans and water cooling stuff. I was looking at the phantom 480 and corsair 900D but based on price cant decide between both. I love the size and look of the 900D but the price is high and I would need about 17 fans for the entire case which is very pricey. The way I will start water cooling my components would begin with just a kit from ek with a 360mm sized radiator. Because I am a college student, I want to take the time to expand my build through several years. I had my eyes set on the phantom 820 but I am not sure if it could fit two radiators to cool a cpu and gpu in the future. I would like to know any advice anyone has with any choice of cases that would be best. Also your opinion on my idea for improving my computer throughout years.

Sup Peeps, Here is Powerhouse (Specs in my sig)! I am currently using a Corsair 900D.... Horrible case. Absolutely horrible to work in and a lot of the space is just wasted. Hurt my fingers just trying to get the thumb screws off for the pci expansion slot due to the door hinge mechanism. The unscrewing was ridiculous with the 980ti classy's as they were wider than usual but it is still present with normal founder's 1080ti's. Not Reccommended. Bought it thinking it will be as nice to work in, if not better then my 750D but was unpleasantly surprised. Now I am thinking of repasting my CPU/GPU and and upgrading to hardline tubing. What would be a good case to migrate to for that. I am currently running a custom loop with 2x EX XE480 + 1x XE240 radiators that I would like to carry forward as well. I am looking at the caselabs SMA8, but I would appreciate some alternatives to it as well as it is horribly marked up in price for Australians.. It must be a pretty case regards, ~GabeN

Hello readers, so im going to convert my normal Corsair Obsidian 900D Build into a watercooled one, and i do have a question. In the 900D the PSU ist mounted vertically, seen from the front, on the right side. Like 99% of 900D watercooled Builds im going to install an 480Rad in the bottom chamber, on the left side, seen from the front. At the Moment the direction of my PSU Fan is pulling Air from the right, exhausting it on the back. That means, the RAD installed, at least one fan would "push" air through the RAD onto the flat side of the PSU. Q: Turning the PSU, a 180°, that the PSU fan "takes" the air coming through the rad, exhausting it on the back, would that be an idea to avoid bad airflow or is it probably an bad idea cause then it could damage the PSU fan. FYI : PSU is an EVGA G2 850 Watt with this "Eco-Mode" where the fan doesnt spin until ~400W i think. Eco Mode could be turned off. Thanks

Hey peeps, I have a corsair 900d, I am going to setup the radiators on it after the yearly maintainance soon so I wanted to find a few things about case flow. I am using noctua fans with low noise adaptors as well as 2x 480 EKWB XE radiators. I was thinking of placing all the rads in as intakes for positive air pressure. Is that a bad idea? Cheers

Pretty much this^ Just wanted to ask if anyone has had experience with disassembling this case or if I shouldn't even think about it. It wouldn't be anything fancy, most likely just a few plain white parts or some coloured accents. Thanks in advance!

I recently decided to change my previous choice of the Asus Rampage V Extreme to the Asus X99-E WS. In doing so, PCPartPicker has thrown a temper tantrum telling me that the X99 is incompatible with the 900D. I have already read conflicting "guesses" online about this issue. Can anyone verify one way or the other (hopefully by first-hand knowledge) if the X99 will fit (without modding) inside the 900D? Please provide your resource so I can read more about this (not that I wouldn't take one's word). Thanks...

I'm sure this topic has been beaten to death on here, but the majority of the threads I found consisted of photos of completed builds using the Corsair 900D instead of talking about the reason behind the build. I'm more interested in the air flow (intake/exhaust), how many radiators are necessary, and the aspects of push/pull. I have always been a little paranoid with the heat these components produce, so I don't mind going a little overboard on the air/water cooling as long as I am not being counter-productive. When I bought my current computer many years ago, it got so hot one day that it literally burned out one of my RAID's (or something similar happened that affected my HDD), so this is why I'm paranoid about temperatures. I have seen several videos where people have intake fans/rads on the bottom, outtake fans/rad on top, but then there is a mixture between whether the front fans are intake/outtake (rad or no rad) and the back exhaust is intake/outtake (rad or no rad). I just would like to get a sense of what other people are doing with this case (or if they have built with this case). In my mind, I would imagine the bottom would have two intakes (one with a quad 120mm and one with a dual 120mm). This is where my question about pull vs. push/pull comes in. Then I would imagine 2 intake fans at the front (do I need a dual rad here) - pull or push/pull? I plan on the top with a thick quad 120mm rad with push/pull, so that section is taken care of. For the back exhaust, I want a 140mm (assuming as an outtake), but here again, pull or push/pull? I understand the difference between the SP and AF Corsair fans, and I understand a positive pressure environment (so no need to go there). I just can't figure out the best combination for everything else. I plan on using Alphacool radiators and Corsair SP/AF fans.

Hey guys, I am trying to build my first custom water cooling system and I need some help. My setup: Corsair 900D Asus X99 S 4 x 4GB Kingston Predator DDR4 Corsair RM750 SLI 2x Asus GTX 760 Direct CU II OC So I know the graphic cards aren't the best, but I will update them later with a pre-mounted waterblock card. But for my build now they dont matter. I did some research on water cooling and picked these parts: 1x XSPC Raystorm CPU-cooler 5x XSPC EC6 Coolant, 1 Liter - clear 3m PrimoChill PrimoFlex Advanced LRT 3/8 ID 5/8 OD 5x Corsair SP120 PWM Quiet Edition Twin Pack 1x XSPC D5 Aluminium Screw Ring - Black 1x XSPC D5 Photon 270 Reservoir/Pump Combo 1x XSPC Xtreme Radiator RX240 V3 - 240mm 2x XSPC Xtreme Radiator RX480 V3 - 480mm 10x XSPC Coin Fit G1/4 to 3/8 ID 5/8 OD Compression Fitting V2 - Black Chrome 3x Swiftech 8-Way PWM Cable Splitter What do you mean? How is the quality of these parts? And will it all fit together? Thx for your help and feedback

I'm planning on using the Corsair 900D case and a combination of their AF/SP fans in addition to a few radiators. As far as fan control, I see some who praise the Corsair Link and others who praise a physical fan controller component stuck in a drive bay (with knobs and LED display). Is there any advantage to one over the other (Corsair Link controlled by software versus a physical component controlled by knobs). How many fans can either setup control? If you are using one or the other, can you please link me to what you are using and maybe share your experience with it. Thanks.

Hi Team I have been planning a big project for my Corsair 900D and i have created a wishlist on pc case gear of all the items that i will be getting. https://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=wish_lists&wlcId=357161&action=wish_lists I have done some research but as this is my first time doing a custom water cooled unit id like to hear if the items i am getting will green lit for a solid build. Let me know if these is any compatibility issues, as i am purchasing from an online store i have to get it right, its about 200 dollars cheaper that way. I will only be using still water in the build but i got some dye just for fun see how it goes. *i have a fan controller but i think i will probably need another one. Thanks in advance

If someone gave you a Corsair 900D and an unlimited budget that you could only use to build the custom water cooling loop to go with it, how cray would your custom loop be? What radiators, pumps, reservoirs, fans, tubing, cooling blocks etc. would you use (brand and model). Objective: cool the CPU, GPU, MOBO (and RAM if you want to). Specific interests: you like cable management, a whisper quiet PC, overclocking and long walks on the beach. Some components for reference: CPU: Intel i7-4930K MOBO: Asus IV Rampage Black Edition GPU: GTX 780ti SC RAM: 64GB Quad-channel 2133MHZ PSU: 1200W Storage: SSD's

I've been going back and forth between the 750D and 900D for a while now, from a building stand point the 900D would be awesome for my future plans. Plenty of room to and a second card and even go water cooled after that. The 750D is great from a "cost effective" stand point compared to the 900D. Still room to go dual sli and water cooled at some point. Also the bottom drawer that comes with the 900D is a very attractive feature to me. Any other thoughts or recommendations on different cases? PS. How does everyone have there pc build in there signature?

Hey guys, Anybody ever own A little devil pc v8? I was curious if it offered anything more than the 900d i was looking into. ?Basics: Photographer Usage: Desktop Raid storage Backup plan: G-Rad external drives (years down the road to impliment) Current issue at hand. I'm starting a photography business. I would like to go with the 900d over the 750d for the 3 hot swap drive bays, and the expandable max 15 hard drive bays. My conccern is motherboards only go up to 10 Sata ports. One is going to be free for the Blu ray burner (data backup)..How do I go about connecting the other disc drives to the sata ports? I tried looking this up on youtube, google, and other pc forums. With no luck, i have no answer. Hoping to find one here.

Hi. I'm new here, I'm Canadian, and I live in Virginia, so feel free to poke fun. I'm working on a spec for a my new workstation. I do freelance design in SolidWorks for Sheet metal, machine design, and custom product part design analysis. My challenge is SolidWorks is a single threaded application, so multiple cores doesn't do it any good. Overclocking does however make a significant improvement. The simulation software I use does very well with multiple cores, so it seems like Ivy bridge-E is a smart choice to get the best of both overclocking for modelling performance and 6 cores for analysis performance. I think Xeon is over-rated. I have a dual Xeon system at work, only time I see a benefit is when doing big simulations, or running multiple background conversion tasks. Water cooling seems to be an important feature, due to some simulations solving for hours. My current setup without OC or WC gets into the 70 degree C range. This is what is in my shopping cart so far: Asus rampage iV black edition (just because it is cool... and I'm a self-proclaimed Asus fanboy) Corsair XMS 64GB memory CMX64GX3M8A1600C11 (going to give RamDisk a shot.) Stuff I'm thinking about adding: Whatever unlocked 6-core i7 IB-E I can afford when the shopping cart is full. I can always upgrade the cpu, right after the haswell-E release. I've been following gnif's work from EEV forum on converting GTX 690s to K5000's so there may be a GTX 690 in this build. ;o) Fittings and rads from Koolance. Probably a 480 to start with up top, and then maybe a 240 in the basement and a 360 in the front as an upgrade I'm having trouble deciding on a good case, I'm falling in love with idea of a water cooled 900D, probably just one or two rads, but with many drives since my work can be very data hungry and raid will be important for data redundancy. I realize there are many cases that could work for me, but I'm liking the idea of this one. my current system is in an Antec P182. I like the layout of the 540 Air, but not exactly what I'm looking for with this build. It's been 5 years since my last system build so I'm looking to have a fun conversation with this one. I've never taken the time to do a build for looks, but since my office is moving to the dining room, I'm thinking of doing a black on black for the build with just a few polished metal accents and minimal lighting. It will be an experience for me to do good cable management and tubing routing Usually my builds look like a thrown together test bench mock-up in case. Maybe I should sleep less and model it up in SolidWorks? Maybe not. I wonder how hard it is to paint a noctua black? Is that sacrilegious? The budget is a little bigger then reasonable for this, however its a business expense, so I'd like to hear ideas, I'll create a build log as the stuff rolls in over the holidays.
