I have a chinese motherboard Machinist B75 Pro U5. According to the manual (very hard to find by the way, didn't comes in the box) "Supports Intel Core i3/i5/i7 2th or 3th generation, Xeon E3 v2, Pentium and Celeron series processors". Now is working fine with a i5 3470s CPU. For gaming it works really good actually. I just got a i7 3770k CPU and i have installed it, but here comes the problem. 1 second after turn the PC on, 4 beeps can be heard: no video, no boot, no BIOS. I thought may be the CPU is damaged or dead, so i put it in another old hp office class computer (HP Compaq Pro 4300, the one where i have removed the current i5 3470s CPU in the first place) with the same socket (LGA 1155). For my surprise, the i7 3770k CPU works fine in this junk. So we can discard the CPU as a problem. Working Around: According to UserBenchmark and cpu-upgrade websites, i7 3770k is compatible with this motherboard According to Intel Ark, i7 3770k's main differences with i5 3470s are: Total Threads (8 vs 4), base frequency (3.50 vs 2.90 GHz), cache size (8 vs 6 MB) and power consumption (77 vs 65 watts). The last one makes me wonder if this can be the issue. The "official" Machinist website, says it works with the i7 3770k. If i put back the i5 3470s CPU into the motherboard, starts with 4 beeps and boot with no problem... after restart, no beeps can be heard again. It seems like it use this beeps as a warning in case some hardware changes. I can't find any "beeps meaning" table or documentation in internet nor the motherboard manual. Current Setup: Machinist B75 Pro U5 Motherboard 700w Power Supply Nvidia RTX 2060 GPU 1 M.2 NGFF, 1 SSD and 2 HDD Units 2 x 8GB Fury HyperX 1866mhz DDR3 RAM Any ideas about why i7 3770k CPU does not works in this motherboard? b75prou5.pdf

Performance gains range from mediocre to non-existent, and in the worst cases it's actually slower than Skylake, overall it's still slower vs the 5800X despite consuming significantly more power. Interestingly it also has higher core-to-core latency and a worse performing L3 cache compared to Skylake. It's impressively bad, I'm at a loss for words. I'm seeing strange readings from HWINFO64 for my CPU. Under routine workloads I see intermittent/brief temp spikes up to the 90s. These last less than a second. However, under Prime95 torture test the CPU barely hits the 70s. I thought maybe it's a software glitch so I tried monitoring the temps using another program but I see the same strange temp spikes. Could it be a sensor malfunction? ROUTINE WORKLOADS: PRIME95 TORTURE TEST:

so a few minutes ago i was browsing passmark and i found this: link is here :https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i7-11700K+%40+3.60GHz&id=3896c as you can see its a 11700k has a 3.6 ghz base and 5 ghz boost with 8c 16t and a TDP of 125w which is kind of high for a 8c 16t cpu and its has the best single threaded performance of all chips (even zen 3) look here : https://www.cpubenchmark.net/singleThread.html so what are your thoughts

Okay, I have myself a bit of a dilemma regarding upgrading the storage on my system. I bought a second-hand system from a friend with a brand new Be Quiet! 600w PSU, which made it a real bargain. The specs were/are: Core i7 3770, 16Gb RAM, nVidia GTX 980, 60Gb SSD and 2x 2Tb HDD. It's a pretty decent system, I'm happy with it. The weak link in the chain so to speak, is the motherboard. It's an Asus P8H61-MX R2.0. Don't get me wrong, it's actually very reliable, but it only had USB 2 and 4x SATA 300Mbps with no RAID. On the expansion slot side of things, it has one PCIe x16 3.0 and 2 PCIe x1 2.0. It only had 2 DIMM slots too, so 16Gb max I want more speed from the SSD side of things and as I see it I have two ways of doing it (Three ways if you count a new motherboard, but that seems overkill when these boards are really pricey right now!). 1: I get a PCIe SATA 600Mbps adapter and get a bigger SSD 2: I get the same adapter, but instead move some of the other drives to the adapter and get another 60Gb SSD and stripe them in Windows (I have checked, you can stripe a Windows 10 installation partition), but leave them connected to the onboard SATA ports. 3: I screw the whole thing and get another motherboard, which I'd rather not do as I have a Win 10 attached to the board. I'm tending to think that even at SATA 300Mbps, striping two SSDs with the on board controller would be the way to go, or there's a fourth option actually I could get TWO PCIe adapters and put an SSD on each one and stripe them. In my experience Windows software striping is actually pretty decent. Anyway, I'd be really grateful what you guys think.

So i have this weird problem with my CPU temps. Most of the time on idle its 30 to 35 degrees Celsius but sometimes it goes up to 40, 50 or even 60 and i'm not even stressing it that hard. Does anyone know why this is? I almost always have Firefox, Skype, Discord and SpeedFan open. Spec list: Intel Core i7 6700k @ Stock Speeds Cryorig H7 cooler (with Cryorig CP7 thermal compound installed) ASRock Z270 Killer SLI Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 @ 3000MHz EVGA Geforce GTX 1070 8GB SC WD Green 240GB SSD & 500GB HDD Xilence Performence A+ 730W Phanteks Eclipse P400S Tempered Glass, White (with stock fans, yes i know i need an upgrade)

I bought a 4770k last week and so far I love how well it performs in Blender and Premiere, even compared to the 4690k I previously used. I know these badboys are notorious for running very hot, but I think I scored a particularly bad performing one. Long story short: I'm using the same cooler as previously with my 4690k and the temps are outrageous. If I start Prime95 at stock speed, the temps immediately jump up to ~90°C on the hottest core. My 4690k never went past 62°C with the same setup while being overclocked to 4,2 Ghz. A bad mount is debarred, I've reinstalled the cooler multiple times now with the same outcome. Are these temps to be considered normal?

Hello to all. I'm saving up for a main overhaul of my MOBO, CPU, RAM and HDD/SSD. I've already Picked a SSD and HDD so I'm good there. However, Im stuck on the fo weather I should get a 4 or 6 Core CPU [Intel of coarse]. What I do is 3D Modeling granted I'm still a bit of an Amateur and do mostly Vehicle Modeling and some scenery but I would like to move onto Animation, Rigging, More Detailed Scenery, Photo Realism and really expanding my current list of Capabilities. I'm in College have been accepted to a University which has a specialization coarse in Game Art BS. So which should I get or which would be fine. I was looking for someone who would sell a new or if I had to used i7 3930K. Yes I do game as well. But here's some examples. There's a few but I think this gives you an Idea.

Hello I need some help deciding on whether to get a new 144hz monitor or upgrade my PC (Everything but the GPU) I currently have an AMD FX 6300 and a GTX 1060, and BENQ RL2455HM 60HZ monitor. I use this monitor for both PC and Xbox One gaming. I'm not getting the full performance out of my current parts because I run my games at 60fps due to the screen tearing. I would like to upgrade my PC because of the bottlenecking, however I would be running games at 60fps because screen tearing really annoys me, but then I wouldn't be getting the full performance out of my new parts... (I would be getting a core i7 6700k, 16gb of RAM and i haven't decided on the motherboard yet) It would also be nice to play new games that I can't currently play with my current specs. So now my problem lies here, do I upgrade my PC first or upgrade my monitor first. Any responses are greatly appreciated!

Hi! My existing rig is a dell mobo with a 4790, 12 gb ram, and a 1060 and I was wondering, would it be worth it to upgrade to Kaby lake? P.S. there are a couple issues with the mobo right now; there's an electrical buzzing noise coming from the mobo and outputting through the headphone jack when either cpu or gpu is under load, and the usb controller doesn't like to power things like phones or audio interfaces.

Ive been working cutting lawns and have enough to buy a 7700K and have a bit left over. Should I continue working until I raise the £750e needed to buy one of the new LGA2066 Core i9 Extreme processors. Im not working within a set budget but would like to keep it within £4000 I have set aside £1600 for 2 EVGA GeForce GTX 1080Ti FTW3 cards. I am building a system primarily for video editing and gaming in a Corsair Carbide Series 400C ATX case and using a RM1000x power supply (both of which I have already bought). It seems to be a little strange to see a 13 year-old beginner jumping in with a high-power, high-cost system after using a low spec late 2012 mac for almost 5 years but I am fed up of not being able to play games at 1080p on settings higher than lowest stably. On less demanding games I can usually squeeze 20-30fps out of my 512mb GeForce GT 640M at 1080p. I would also like to be able to access more VR games as the PlayStationVR game library is very limited and is lacking many adventure games but I am really enjoying playing Star Trek Bridge Crew that I pre-ordered months ago that came jut the other day. I am willing to work for the money like I have been for the past three months. I AM ONLY GOING FOR INTEL/NVIDIA since I believe they are the best for Multi-Threadded performance although AMD's new X399 'Threadripper' CPU seems pretty promising. I just thought to ask for advice.

My hardware: Intel Core i7 6700k Gtx 1060 6GB 16 GB DDR4 RAM 2400Mhz Asus Z170-p Mobo 500W PSU (EVGA) Cooler Master CPU cooler (not specifying which because it doesn't seem relevant) 1TB HDD, 128GB SSD Windows 10 home In GTA 5, I should get an average frame rate of 60+ (according to several benchmarks on Youtube with the same GPU, CPU and RAM), whilst I'm getting 30. I've updated my drivers (and downgraded to see if that was the problem) and OS; nothing seems to fix the problem. I do not know what to do.

I'm gonna be building a PC around Feb/Jan of 2017, So I'm wondering if its worth waiting for KabyLake? http://pcpartpicker.com/list/bzrzZ8 Current Parts list.

Hello guys, Now the CPU isn't overheating per-se but it's definitely running a lot hotter than expected in games. It's a 4790 non-K but it's been pushed to 4.0GHz (max allowed locked multiplier) on stock voltage and it's running around 70 to 80 C in games that aren't even very taxing. Robocraft is the most notable example of this. It's got an Antec Khuler 650 cooling it which is antec's low end liquid cooler with a 120mm rad and single fan (non replaceable). I have managed to take manual control of the pump-fan speed because the fan curve that you set is very slow to respond and will let it heat up to 80+ C. I know you aren't supposed to be able to control its speed but by re-wiring some cables to and from the pump I have managed that. The fan speed is at 75% which is quite noisy and the CPU diode still read between 70 to 80 C. Is this normal? I've meticulously cleaned the CPU die and coldplate many times and applied Arctic Silver 5, with only the first reapplication yielding a 2 to 3 C improvement. Also, the radiator fins are hard to reach because of antec's approach to the design: the pump is on the fan hub this time and not on the coldplate, therefore preventing a fan swap for something better since I would throw away the pump by doing so. A side effect of that is you cannot remove that assembly from the rad without a special kind of screwdriver (which I do not have unfortunately) and I'm unable to get a good angle at the fins. They aren't that clogged up though. For your information, I can confirm that the problem isn't between the PCU and coldplate since the air being pushed out of the radiator is quite warm. What do you guys think? Is the Khuler 650 a bad performing cooler in the first place? Or is there an underlying issue I haven't seen yet or is it just due to Robocraft being more CPU-bound than I'm led to believe? Regards

Hi, I would like to understand how these two CPUs are different, gaming wise. I mostly play AAA action games at 1200p. core i5 4690: 3.5-3.9 (boost mode) core i7 7700: 3.6- 4.2 (boost mode) The speed difference is not so big, so why is the Core i7 supposed to be better? thanks.

Hello, I have a Core i5 6400 on a Z270 motherboard, which I bought because I presumed it would be compatible with Coffee Lake, which I was looking to upgrade to, considering it's speculated that it will be 30% faster. But now that it's been confirmed that Z270 will not support Coffee Lake, I am wondering between selling my CPU + motherboard and going Ryzen or upgrading to a 7700K, which would be a better choice? Thanks.

My new PC saga has gone up from a trilogy to a quadrilogy -,- This chapter is called "Wallet wars my pc strikes again" As you all gathered here may noticed I am in need of a new power supply due to a small thing breaking in my current one and making my life airfield like (minus the planes thankfully) My requirements for this small glorious box that powers my pcmr wallet sucking machine are as follows: -quiet -capable of comfortably supplying enough juice to my overclocked 7820X and a future volta 2080 gpu (GTX 1280,1280Ti, 2080, 2080Ti whatever they call I'm buying it) - high quality -reasonable in price (obviously not some kind of a 15$ 25000W wonderbox elite pro gaming extreme pocket bomb but also not a power supply thay has a case made of gold) So far I found Corsair HX850i to my liking though not so sure about the differences between the RM RMx RMi HX series (except for price ofc) and not so sure about me needing this many watts As always any help is welcome as I hope to finally have this PC build behind me and finally working as I want it to.
