I'm asking, because I think this is what is causing the stuttering in certain games like Hitman 3. Every fifteen seconds or so, the screen freezes. And I know its my ethernet causing the device manager screen to constantly refresh because it stops refreshing when I disconnect it. What gives here? I've tried reinstalling the drivers for my NIC Adaptor, even went with the nuclear option and reset the modem.

I made a similar topic few months ago, for another harddrive, but basically the same issue - the difference is this drive has a LED so I can not only hear it I can see it. 20210706_175530.mp4 (prob cant hear it, its just regular - constant - rapid harddrive "clicking") The consensus was that this is "normal" but it really isnt, because it did not do this during the last weeks, just started doing it yesterday - and it does not stop - if I reconnect the drive it'll be silent for a few minutes but then starts again accessing the harddrive constantly . If this is some "maintanace" thing, thats quite counter productive because all it does is wear the drive out and annoy me… I checked theres light disk usage but that doesnt really correlate to the constant read/writes. Also I checked there's 0% fragmentation, so that couldnt be it either (I think) So yeah, question is how do i figure out what its doing / how to stop it? ps: drive is about half empty/full

I'm really stumped right now as to why my headset keeps disconnecting and reconnecting to my computer. I've updated drivers, unplugged and re-plugged everything on the motherboard, and turned off the power savings on EVERY SINGLE USB port. I don't know what to do anymore this has been going on for a month and I can't deal with this. before this i was having an issue where everything disconnected at once and screwed everything up. But that went away for a while and now I'm stuck with this. I'm using the Razer kraken pro v2. My setup is a Gigabyte 970A-DS3P, 8gb of ddr3 my processor is an amd FX 6300 which performs way above average and an RX480. I have a 750W power supply and a 1TB hard drive. I'm literally ready to put my whole setup on ebay for $10 As I typed this my headset did this 5 TIMES.

I've recently upgraded my computer, and no my Battlefield 1 constantly crashes. Like every game I get in, it crashes. What I mean by crashes is it stops responding and closes itself. Because of summary 3, I did to check disk on both my C drive (windows) and D drive (battlefield 1 and other games) It used to involve nvwgf2umx.dll but somehow I fixed it. For the last month or so my computer has randomly been freezing and becoming unresponsive and requires me to forcefully shut it down with the power button. It happens 1 or 2 times a day at most. When it freezes, what ever was on my monitors at the time remains there and a loud popping/crackling noise goes through my USB headset (the sound last for less than a second). I initially had my PC overclocked to 4.7GHz (4.0 base) and figured that would be the problem but after leaving it a stock for a while it hasn't stopped it. Also, it happens both during playing games and just browsing the web. My PC Specs are as follows: i7 6700K @ 4.00GHz / Asus Z170-A / GTX 970 (base clock) / Corsair Vengence DDR4 16GB @ 2100Mhz / H100i AIO / 500 Samsung 850 evo / 1TB WB Blue + 2TB Seagate Barracuda / Corsair CX500 / My personal opinion is that the PSU might be on the blink as I have had it for around 1.5 - 2 years. However I'm not the best when it comes to troubleshooting so I'd like some more opinions. If you need anymore info then ask away. Extra: Event Viewer shows no logs relating to anything other than "Critical: The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly". Temps remain below 65C on my cpu and below 60C on my GPU under load. Cheers.

Just got a new graphics card installed after my other one shit the bed a while back. I installed it and system booted up no problem. Great! Then after updating everything that was out of date and updated windows, all the sudden the computer now starts doing and endless reboot when I turn it on. Post shows my asus logo ten couple seconds later shuts off then restarts again. Over and over.

So my HP Laptop has been messing up for a bit (i mainly use my desktop computer) So i tried competely reinstalling windows via the format methods on the computer. I let if delete all my files and during the time of the computer reinstalling Windows 10 (without the USB Windows 10 drive just reinstalling from the computer). When i came back to it the message on the screen said it was installing windows 10. A while after i assume the laptop died and since then everytime i startup the laptop before it finishes loading and before it shows the wndows starting up pic it pops with a message that says "The computer restarted unexpectdly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows instillation cannot proceed. To install windows click "OKAY" to restart the computer and then restart the instillation." is the computer R.I.P. i doubt it. should i say F the Hard drive and buy a new windows 10 install. I do have the USB Instillation from my PC Rig Build not sure if i'd let me use it on a different computer

Hello, I am here because I am having issues with the computer I built myself and its freezing at random times even when just browsing on the internet when its not even using big programs. When it freezes the computer stays on what you were seeing, for example if I am on Youtube and it freezes its like taking a screenshot of your computer and putting it on full-screen it will not do anything, no sound, no ctrl + alt + del, no nothing all I can do is force shut down and restart it (the same when playing games its simply random). I have yet to figure out if its a software or hardware problem I have tried a lot of windows fixes. So I just got done putting together my new motherboard, CPU and SSD and ahm, basically I have these multiple orange lights on the motherboard that I have no idea if they are supposed to be there as a decoration, or if it means something is work. The system works, so far at least and I can't really spot any problems to be honest, I mean I am writing this from the new system. I read somewhere that this is a problem thing, then I read at other places that it is just a decoration, I've no idea. My 2 CPU fans are at a constant rpm of ~1800. I've tried applying a fan curve in the BIOS: only my case fan's rpm varies with the temperature. I've tried SpeedFan: same result. If I put on an LNA or an ALNA, the rpm drops to ~1300 and ~1000 BUT, as the rpm is constant: temperatures go high under workload. All of my fans are 3-pin (DC?) fans. I would like to have a working fan curve for my 2 cpu cooling fans. My computer is very noisy. Hey I was wondering, I'm building my self a new PC since my old ass macbook obviusly can't run most games (fallout 4.) But one of the things ive noticed while playng games on this laptop like csgo and half-life, portal... is that all have fps jumps from mabye 80 sometimes to 30 and its very frustrating. I would just like to know if theirs any app or anything that could (for my new PC) cap my fps at 60 but also boost my fps to a constant 60. Im fine with overclocking btw.

So my internet has been inconsistant with Comcast. Some nights I get 8.1Mbps and some nights I would only get 1.5Mbps but I could load most pages and videos on youtube at standard resolution. I was ok with this. I could get by with daily tasks and most evenings I had no problem. The past four days have been especially bad. Like 107kbps download BAD! The past two days it has been all day, morning, evening, and night. It is also a very wierd pattern of issues. When I initially try to load my email or a webpage or a video my ping spikes and it struggles to load. Once it gets past a certain point, it will load at a decent rate and lowest quality. I have reset my router, changed passwords, scanned my personal computer for viruses, called comcast and nothing has helped. It's very irritating to not even be able to load email images, or videos, let alone games. My setup is a comcast modem/router with a linksys router connected. My personal computer is one story down and using wifi, but I have a second desktop connected via ethernet to the comcast modem. Both are having the issue. I'm overclocking an ASUS Radeon 7950 HD GPU with MSI Afterburner. When I run OCCT (my preferred stress test; with error check enabled), my core voltage (VDDC) measurement fails to go over 1.11V as shown in GPU-Z; I have my core voltage set to 1.2V in MSI Afterburner. The test ends up coming back with errors, which basically means the clock is unstable Question #1: Could it be unstable because the GPU is not receiving enough voltage? Question #2: If I enable "Force constant voltage" in MSI Afterburner, could this potentially solve this issue by feeding the GPU the volts I originally set (1.2V)? Question #3: Is it safe to run "Force constant voltage" on an overclock that's used for maybe half of the day at most OR a 24/7 overclock? Question #4: My core voltage (VDDC) measurement remains at 1.188V during idle (on desktop, surfing net, etc), but it goes down when I run a GPU intensive program like OCCT. Why doesn't it stay closer to 1.2V like I had originally set it? Thanks!

My grandparents would make me maintain their computer, which would get so much viruses constantly despite malwarebytes pro + avg internet security pro. They're old, and only use the web browser (firefox), and usually browse russian websites so I guess the AV's don't know those viruses yet. I used to re-install windows every 2 weeks or so; but one-day it hit me! They just use the browser! I installed Linux Mint Debian (Closest looking thing to windows), got their bookmarks toolbar with all the links they like, installed their printer, and now they're in heaven; and I won't have to deal with them anymore! I also installed a ton of games from the app-store and they love em! Moral of the story: If a family member that constantly fucks up their PC uses JUST a web-browser, slap on a linux distro (not ubuntu with unity). No viruses, same browser, no fixing, errbody happy!

Ok, so I play Battlefield 4 from time to time, and I'm getting back into it, and I usually like to play 64P locker, but I haven't tested other maps... but not that I shoud, but 3 times between today and yesterday, BF4 crashes into about 10 minutes of playing.. why is this?

First set up and first boot, I was hoping to be able to use the integrated graphics with my 3570k. When I test boot, the cpu fan keeps spinning as the PSU fan spins for a bit and slowly stops, nothing shows up on the monitor and everything eventually shutsdown. However, within seconds, it repeats the process. Im not sure if its my psu or motherboard or if I need a dedicated card for the first boot but i've tried clearing the CMOS and everything but the problem continues.
