This project is unofficial! A paid Floatplane subscription is required for proper use. Was looking for a Roku client/channel, and I couldn't find one, so I wrote this small client. Supports login via Floatplane only (no legacy LTT forum, nor Discord). 2FA login is supported. I'm currently working on a few bugs/enhancements, though I work full time, so progress is sparse. Pull requests/bug reports are more than welcome! Got a question? Feedback? Poke me on Discord for a faster response! Where Can I Get It? Roku The source can be found on Github (https://github.com/bmlzootown/Hydravion), and it is available via the Roku channel store (https://my.roku.com/account/add/TCXTKHH or https://channelstore.roku.com/details/96a633034fff363b2a194509d75cb966/hydravion). Android TV This will have to be side-loaded for the time being. Feel free to submit any issues over on the Github page: https://github.com/bmlzootown/Hydravion-AndroidTV tvOS/Apple TV Still a work in progress, should I ever get the time, but it seems to work just fine in the simulator. To run it, you'll have to sideload the app, though, as I have no paid developer license. Feel free to submit any issues over on the github page: https://github.com/bmlzootown/Hydravion-tvOS Jamamp (Jman012) has been working on a tvOS app (Wasserflug) that looks much better, and has far more functionality, that is currently available on the app store (see Discord for more info). The source is available via Github as well: https://github.com/Jman012/Wasserflug-tvOS

Before I even start... Yes, I realize I could buy low end/used PCs. Yes, I realize this project isn't necessary. Yes, I want to proceed anyway, so long as its at least slightly practical. Ok, so I'm working on setting up a makerspace. Its a slow process and I'm trying to piece it together as we go so that it grows to fit our community. The first things we are wanting to add are 3D printers and workstations to be able to create models and run the slicer. Today we just need Fusion 360 and Cura(and maybe a couple related programs), but down the road we will likely add some graphics software(Photoshop, Illustrator, etc), developer software(Visual Studio, Arduino IDE, Sketch, etc). So our workstations won't necessarily be doing a lot of heavy lifting, but I'd like to offer a decent experience for the people that come in to work on projects. Here's what I'm looking at: 1x Host(PC/Server) Good specs, not over the top Primary OS can be Windows or Linux. I'm more familiar with windows but am willing to work with linux if its better for the project. 10x Clients Bare bones machines remoting into the PC/Server OR Remote Peripherals connected back to the PC/Server Based on my current understanding, I would prefer that the Host be running virtual machines that can be accessed via remote connection. My reasoning is that I could always add more VMs and allow members to remote into the host using their own device(laptop, phone, tablet). This way they can use whatever software is available without having to take a seat from someone that doesn't have their own device. Also, supposedly creating VMs that use dynamic resources is much easier than it used to be. If I understand correctly, I could create 100 VMs but the hardware resources are only split between the VMs that are currently being used. Let me know what you think. I could only find one similar thread, but it was from 2015 and I'm pretty sure there have been some technological advancements since then.

I am attempting to install the folding at home client and control programs in Ubuntu and whenever I run the installation command sudo dpkg -i /home/alex/Downloads/fahclient.deb and I get the error Errors were encountered while processing: fahclient I am not sure what this means but it won't install through the Ubuntu software app either. The control app works fine but I obviously need the client for it to work. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

@LinusTech Any plans on making an APP version of the forum +/- other functionality on Android/iOS anytime soon? The browser nested forum is kewl, I dig it, just wondering if you've got plans on making any mobile clients. Could have forum part, LTX separate part, Youtube stuff part, Merch part, etc. Maybe even some QR code section with all kinds of affiliate links for people to follow... What are your thoughts? P.S. Maybe I should've posted this in a different forum section...

Hi, I wonder if anyone knows of a way to limit how many messages gmail will download to a client by date (so either "download all messages from mm/dd/yy" or "download all messages from [x years] ago"). I know within gmail itself you can set it to download the most recent 1k, 2k, 5k or 10k messages, but I would prefer to set this by date. I also want to keep ALL messages on the server, I don't want to get rid of anything, just free up space on my drive. This can be for any FREE email client. I think Outlook has a date slider but annoyingly it isn't free and I don't want to spend money on an email client as they're so readily available (yes, I know it's easy to "find" online, but I want to keep things above board here). Thanks for the help!

Hi! I was asking myself how I could secure my network from Client PC's that I repair and fix in my home? Like how could I be sure nothing harmful goes through my network if the client had an infected PC? (Let's say i need to download drivers or games/software on it and the client PC is not on my desk for Virus removal but for general stuff) Thank you all in advance!

Hi everyone, I'm probing for best practices setting up a VPN connection from 5 remotes workstations to a home office server. Each remote workstation is located in a verterinarian van that travels to clients. There will also be 5 clients at the home office that will connect locally to the server, or perhaps with VPN in some circumstances. So far, I'm going to use Active Directory to implement user and computer accounts for the van workstations and local workstations. I will implement VPN. I always figure many minds are better than one, so I am probing for anything perhaps I haven't thought of, and am seeking advice on the situation. Nothing exists yet. All we have is empty office space and 1 van. He wants scalability for 5 vans in total and his home office. What are your thoughts? Thank you.

i asked this question like a week ago, asking it again as i still havent managed to find a proper solution. im trying to stream video files between 2 computers where 1 acts as the server and contains the video files the other is the client that is accessing them remotely. i have been directed to this code shown in the site: http://csharpmagics.blogspot.com/2008/11/stream-video-over-lan-using-cnet.html and so i did try it but when i run it nothing happens. no errors or anything the 2 forms just stay open and nothing is shown. i did change the IP address to the loopback address (127.0.01) as at the moment im using a single PC to test if this is working and the site also says loop back address should work. i also did put a path in my computer with a mp4 video file. i dont see any other changes i should do to that code. i tried what i could by going through the code to spot any mistakes but i dont understand the code very well so i might be missing something. it would be very helpful if someone could help me figure out what the problem is. the method shown in the site is the only method i came across and there were comments that it works.if u know any other better way please do comment below but in a simple way as i am not very good at programming. thanks

So i wanted to present to the community a new alternative to Steam : Good Old Games See,Steam has been the mainstream pc games vendor trough time. The problem is,they had and still have monopoly over pc games distribution. As such they could do and still do whatever they want with games. This gives Steam no reason to improve or aim for better services. This has led to a very good platform with sales and everything, but no true freedom of choice as you are arbitrarily forced to log on the internet, plus, the games are all DRM,wich Good old games does not do such things. Good Old Games aims to bring back the time where we TRULY owned our games, where we simply shoved our games in our computers and consoles and played right away with no arbitrary rules or client to be able to play or install our games. Especially with the brand new 1.2 client!!! Another advantage with this new client and distributor is that you can simply download an OFFLINE installer for your games ,put it on any media you want, and reinstall it without requiring the client to reinstall. Anyway,i won't try and convice you as this could take all day. instead, i will give you all a link to their website and video introduction. Enjoy! an may the Golden age of gaming come back https://www.gog.com/

Hello, My parents own a small company (family business) so the place of business is also their home. Up until now we had one network for the business pcs, a linux server and private laptops etc. We also have wifi accesspoints that are connected to the network, so employees can access the internet on their private devices.(I attached a basic overview to this post) This system is a total mess and it is incredibly stupid to not separate the business network from the private network. I am a complete noob with networking stuff so I wanted to ask you guys if you could point me into the right direction. The basic idea is to separate the wifi network into two user-groups and two subnets. one that only has access to the internet the other has access to the whole network. As a firewall/router system I am currently running a dedicated pc with ipcop. As far as I know I have to use a radius server for authentication to the wireless network and somehow have to figure out how to configure the dhcp-server on the ipcop-system so it puts all 'guest' users form the radius authentication into a subnet that only has access to the internet. My question now is how can I use the radius authentification-name with a dhcp-server so it puts the user 'guest' into the subnet 10.xxx.xxx.xxx and the user 'admin' into the subnet 192.168.xxx.xxx? I am sorry if the answer is just a quick google search away but I have read a lot about this in the past few days and couldn't find an easy solution. Sorry for being such a noob - thanks

Hi , any help anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated, basically im trying to write a server which allows multipul clients to connect and send messages to the server. so far i have a login working and the server allows multipul connections. however when i call the "Chat() funtion it only seems to allow each user to send one message. Yet it allows one client to send loads of messages without crashing, the error i get is : "ConnectionAbortedError: [WinError 10053] An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine" ive looked online and it says the antivirus/firewall could be causing problems butt ive tried disabling both yet i still get the same problem. to me it seems like a problem with either the function of the multithreading. Any help would be massivly appreciated and the code is included below. Thanks in advance Sever code import socket import hashlib import threading s = socket.socket(socket.AF_INET, socket.SOCK_STREAM) s.bind(('127.0.0.1', 4000)) def Client_Connection(): YES = False while YES == False: Login = c.recv(1024).decode() FileName = "Login.txt" print(Login) if Login == "c1c224b03cd9bc7b6a86d77f5dace40191766c485cd55dc48caf9ac873335d6fc1c224b03cd9bc7b6a86d77f5dace40191766c485cd55dc48caf9ac873335d6f": YES=True print("OI") AddUser() else: file = open(FileName,"r") for line in file: print(line) if line == Login + "\n": YES=True message = "Welcome" c.send(message.encode()) Chat() else: print("NO") c.send("NO".encode()) file.close def AddUser(): FileName = "Login.txt" file = open("Login.txt" , "a") RecievedCreds = c.recv(1024).decode() print(RecievedCreds) file.write(RecievedCreds +"\n") file.close c.send("New Login Created\nRestarting server Please reconnect".encode()) c.close() def Chat(): MessageContents = "" while MessageContents != "end": message = "Welcome" c.send(message.encode()) MessageData = c.recv(1024).decode()#max number of bytes recv SplitMessage = MessageData.split(",") Sender,MessageContents = SplitMessage[0],SplitMessage[1] print(Sender,":", MessageContents) Disconnect() def Disconnect(): c.close() input("\n\n press enter to close") def Setup (): print("Listening: ") while 1: s.listen(10) #listen to 1 connection at a time global c c, addr = s.accept() print ("Connection from: ", addr) Client = threading.Thread(target= Client_Connection) Client.start() Setup() Client Code import socket import hashlib s = socket.socket(socket.AF_INET, socket.SOCK_STREAM) def connect(): message="" print("Waiting for connection") s.connect(('127.0.0.1', 4000)) Login() def Login(): Username = input("Please Enter Your Username: ") Password = input("Please Enter Your Password: ") SendPass = hashlib.sha256(Password.encode()).hexdigest() SendUser = hashlib.sha256(Username.encode()).hexdigest() Credentials = SendUser + SendPass s.send(Credentials.encode()) print(Credentials) if Credentials == "c1c224b03cd9bc7b6a86d77f5dace40191766c485cd55dc48caf9ac873335d6fc1c224b03cd9bc7b6a86d77f5dace40191766c485cd55dc48caf9ac873335d6f": Admin() else: data = s.recv(1024).decode() if data =="Welcome": Chat() else: Login() def Admin(): NewUsername = input("Please enter the new Username: ") NewPassword = input("Please enter the new Password: ") SendNewPass = hashlib.sha256(NewPassword.encode()).hexdigest() SendNewUser = hashlib.sha256(NewUsername.encode()).hexdigest() NewCreds = SendNewUser + SendNewPass print(NewCreds) s.send(NewCreds.encode()) Return = s.recv(1024).decode() print(Return) def Chat(): NickName = input("Please enter a nickname: ->") message="" while message!= NickName+",end": message =NickName + ","+ str(input("Send: ->")) s.sendall(message.encode()) s.close() input("\n\n press enter to close") print("successfully disconnected from the server") connect()

i recently installed filezilla 3.45 and thought the queuing seemed slow. so i did a queue all of my server and timed it, repeated this several times. it consistently took about 30 minutes to queue it all. i uninstalled 3.45 and installed 3.6 (oldversion.com) and ran same test. 3.6 consistently queued it all in about 20 minutes. a 10 minute slowdown to perform a single site download is awful. can some settings be changed to get the 3.6 queuing speed out of 3.45?

Hi all, I'm using Thunderbird 68.10.0 (64-bit) on macOS Catalina 10.15.5 I have multiple inboxes used on my client, mostly Google accounts but my primary one is non-Google and syncs via CalDav. Unfortunately, my tasks won't sync. In fact, adding a new task is a completely grayed-out option. Anyone else run into this issue? Attached is a screenshot of what I see, as well as the add-ons I'm running (minus Enigmail... I use that, too, but only had so much room in the screenshot ¯\_(ツ)_/¯). Happy to supply more details if needed. Thanks! ----- UPDATE: Welp, I figured this out myself. My service has a different CalDav address between calendars and tasks. Whoops!

Budget (including currency): Country: Europe Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: CCTV Viewing Client Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hi All, Long time lurker, first post. I am looking for advice on new workstation builds for work, the main use for these workstation is viewing and playback of CCTV. The system will be a viewing client for CCTV on 24/7, needs to be reliable and have remote management like vPro or IPMI. What my normal build looks like: i7 7700 16GB Ram 500GB OS drive NVME or Sata NVME I will take supermicro recommendations but really want to move away from them, nothing but problems the last year or so with boards failing and bad bios updates. Also any advice on NVME vs Sata SSDs for reliability? Thanks, Aaron

So a couple months ago I started noticing that Steam would occasionally start game updates that wouldn't actually download anything. The updates show up like any other, if I start the update before it's scheduled, it finishes immediately. This was never really a problem... until today when I noticed that it did this for no less than 118 different games in my account in the last 24 hours. That's a bit more than 1/5th of my games. Has anyone else noticed something like this? I can't seem to find people with the same issue.

I don't have a mobo that will support pci pass-through, but I know for awhile nvidia has started to support gpu pass-through on their consumer cards. Has anyone tried creating a virtual machine with pci pass-through and used their hyper-visor's discrete graphics card in steam stream? I am trying to create a virtual setup that can be logged into and game on. If anyone has come across this, or can help point me in a direction it would be great. It seems in theory there would be no reason why this wouldn't work. Thanks!

Do you use Google's Hangouts which integrates with SMS & Gmail or do you prefer Facebook Messenger to get everybody, even your mom onboard? Maybe you use something else like LINE, Skype, Viber or Slack! Tell me. I try to use Facebook Messenger myself because I get free unlimited chat data with my carrier and all of my friends and family are using it. It's great, but I'd like SMS integration or something more!
