Hey everyone! I'm in a bit of a bind here and could really use some help. My PC is refusing to budge after a recent power outage. I'm rolling up my sleeves and trying to troubleshoot, but honestly, I'm feeling a bit lost. I've ruled out the power supply as the culprit – tested it on another rig, and it's working like a charm. Now, I've got my sights set on the motherboard. I attempted to kick-start it by briefly shorting the pins usually triggered by the power button (hope I'm using the right lingo), but sadly, no luck on the boot-up front. Any insights or guidance would be seriously appreciated My Specs: EX - H110M Intel Core i7-7700 16 GB Ram T-FORCE (TUF) RX580 Sata SSD CV 650

Hey all! I'm new to this forum and hope this is the right thread and not the GPU one, but please correct me if I'm mistaken. After so many attempts my issue still persist: Constand blackouts while having freesync enabled. I’ve tried so many things which I’ll put down below, maybe I’ve missed a possible fix you might know. The only persistent and reliable way to get freesync to work without any problems is installing a driver from 2019. For PC config see the end. For me this is solely a driver problem which I’m really fed up with. It worked in 2019 and at some point, just stopped. Sadly, I no longer have the old driver at my new computer…. I would highly appreciate any more ideas! I’ve tried following in more or less this order: - Fresh install of AMD drivers with DDU, both WHQL and beta versions - No configuration of Radeon Software after installing - Different Freesync ranges with CRU, both lower and upper limit - No Enhanced Sync in AMD settings - Different timing standards in AMD customs resolution - No HDMI link assurance in AMD settings - Overclocking, underclocking, as well as undervolting GPU - Energy Saving Setting in AMD Settings - Installing 2019 Radeon Drivers (only solution that works like a charme) - Filling out AMD report tool - Fresh install of windows - New computer with a premium PSU - Install of new monitor driver - New premium HDMI 2.1 Cable PC specs: - Old computer: i5-3570k at 4.2 GHz, RX480, Asrock Z77 Extreme 4, 16 GB Crucial Vengeance DDR3, Sharkoon WPM 600 W, Samsung 870 Evo, HP 25x 144 Hz aswell as two other 60 Hz monitors - New computer: Ryzen 5600x, same RX480, MPG B550I GAMING EDGE MAX WIFI, 16 GB G.Skill RipJaws DDR4, Seasonic Focus SGX 500 W, same 870 Evo, same HP 25x 144 Hz aswell as two other 60 Hz monitors

So I was using my computer and it was totally fine the power went out. Came back, turned it back on now the CPU lights up the fans turn GPU RGB everything seems to work. But my keyboard and monitors aren't working. Even the power on button only turns on the computer now and doesn't do the manual shut down. Also worth noting I have the computer plugged into a surge protector. What do I do now ?

Having a strange issue (at least that's what I think). When I'm playing CSGO, my screen sometimes turns off. The LED power button is still lit, but the display goes full black. It's not just showing a black screen, it just turns off fully with no backlight (as if it was off). Sometimes it happens for a second, sometimes it just stays black unless I pull out the power cord and plug it back in. The power button doesn't work when it's blacked out either. This only happens when playing CSGO. Not during internet browsing or anything else like that. Not even in other games. I tested BF1, overwatch, Forza horizon 3 and watch dogs 2 and none have the issue. Some facts about my setup: The monitor having problems is a BenQ xl2730z (i have freesync and 144hz on) (connected with display port) It has two other monitors on either side which are BenQ rl2755hm i5 4460 r9 390x drivers all updated 16gb ram 150-400 fps when playing counter strike Sometimes it happens more often than others.

My computer is about 5 years old my first computer I have built myself. Motherboard: Asus Z77 Sabertooth CPU: 3770K I7 Intel GPUs: GeForce GTX 980TI (main runs main screen) and 7970HD (secondary runs 2 screens) Ram: 16GB of ram - CML16GX3M4A1600C9 PSU: less than 4 months old 1000W Gold series RM1000i Corsair OS SSD: 256GB Cruical Storage Drive: 2 TB WD Green Game Drive: 1 TB Samsung SSD 850 EVO My computer has been shutting down on me my screen go straight to black screens and my fans in the computer goes out as well. After about 4 seconds POST is fine and then everything boots back up. Lights and all comes back on. My thought was the voltage of the PSU, but it new. SO I went into my bios to see the measured values and they look fine. While playing with the settings to change it back from manual overclocking to auto my screen went dead and so did my fan led in my case. 4 seconds later it comes back as if i pressed the power button. I think i narrowed it down to something with the wires. I say this because out of frustration while the computer was booting up. I let my hand free fall on to the case and... BOOM it went dead. SO my thought was... hmmm while doing the POST i'll just bang on it hard... and sure enough it went dead upon me striking it. I did this a few more times and the results were the same. UNTIL that is the last time tried it. It wont shut down no matter how hard (to my liking... i could do it wayyyy harder) i hit the frame. When i get the time. I will take it apart and re wire everything. Take everything out clean it. AND finally gives me a reason to change out the CPU Heatsink... I have a Thermaltake SpiralQ on it. It does the trick beautifully... but it has a slight vibration. Do you guys think there are other issues with this? What other test do you think i should perform? Comments?

Hey folks, so recently I just bought a new pc (specs down below) and a brand new 1080p monitor (BenQ GW2270. After a few months of use only, the monitor screen blacks out for a couple seconds, then it comes back again. It is not a big thread but sometimes it can be really annoying when I am gaming and doing work. I was using a DVI cable. I have a universal adapter to connect my monitor to the power strip. Pls help me to solve this problem. PC spec: Pentium G4400 Zotac GTX1050 8gb adata 2133 MHz ram WD Blue 1TB hard disk drive Corsair VS450 power supply Asus H110m Motherboard

Hi guys, I have the below build and am looking at upgrading. The main games I play is PUBG, COD Bo4, overwatch and F1 2019. https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/k7TPx6 My case is a Corsair Carbide SPEC 03 (couldnt see it on pcpartpicker in australia) I do stream from time to time so hence why i got a 6core processor for my first ever build. Currently, I am having some issues playing BO4 with medium-settings. I seem to only receive 65fps on blackout playing standard multiplayer but with Blackout, i drop to around 50fps. I know that I shouldn't be complaining too much for receiving 60fps but with Medium settings, it's not the best experience for myself or my viewers when I do stream. I would much rather play with a strong 70-80 fps on High settings. Ok well to my ideas, I don't want to touch the case, mobo, ram or storage for the time being, mainly just upgrading the CPU if needed or the GPU. Definetly looking for a good AIO CPU cooler because my Ryzen 5 1600 runs pretty toasty on my current 212 Turbo air cooler. I don't really want to spend alot of money on something like a 2080ti etc, i was thinking maybe a 1660ti or even a stretch to a 2070. Currently I don't think there are too many issues with my CPU, from what I have been told my Rx 570 4GB is the main issue. Anyways let me know your thoughts PS. I am in Australia so please base your ideas around AUD and Australian retailers if possible

Hello there! Hoping some like-minded individuals could assist with an issue I've been having. I recently got a new TV to game off my PC. It displays 4K. I have really enjoyed the simplicity of gaming at 4K 60hz on a large screen. However, on some games the screens blacks out while still playing the audio from the game, and the only way to fix it is to change the input to something else, and back again. This only happens on certain games strangely enough, such as Audiosurf 1, Broforce, and Jackbox Party Pack, but it does not have ANY issues on games like Rocket League, Overcooked, etc. Seeing that it does this only on certain applications I have deduced that it cant be a HDMI cord issue, or port issue, and I don't think it would be a TV issue either. It also cant be a heating issue as temps are consistent, and I recently replaced my graphics card with a 2060 and the issue persists. It has to be something within my pc, drivers, or something. Any ideas out there? Oh, and as far as I can tell, switching to windowed display fixes it, but that's not exactly the fix I'm looking for. Thanks guys for any help you can provide.

Edit post : this happened again when i tried to export 8K textures from Substance painter, (Substance painter usually use cpu and gpu power to export) Another edit : i again downgraded my gpu driver to the july update, now it seems whenever i try to export 8k textures from substance painter, pc doesn't restart. but that blender tile 4 problem still appears. Few people who helped me on my previous may know me, My UPS was facing some restart problem so i sent it to claim warranty currently i'm using a small 650va one, which can't backup for a sec when blackout happens, but can backup when i'm idle.it's been 3 days i send my 1200va one to the warranty and with is ups no restart is happening because of voltage spikes, So now the problem is i was thinking what if my psu is faulty too.so i tried doing some heavy tasking, In this picture you can see gpu is almost using 180watt with volume tile size 2.but when i changed that to 4 pc restarts O_O in blender volume sample 2 is high and 16 is low, no problem with 2,8,16 but only on this scene whenever i change to 4 pc restarts without any warning. (I tried using my pc directly to the wall plug)So i tried using furmark to stress the gpu and cpu but no restart happens.i tried playing witcher 3 which uses 160-175watt gpu power most of the time but no restart happens.i again tried using my other scene in blender eevee and used volume sample 4 but it was fine.SO what is the problem here? if it's software issue then i think it shouldn't restart it should crash instead. i also tried changing gpu driver and still pc restarting if i use sample 4 in this scene. (gpu and cpu temp was fine)In furmark test gpu temp was 67C. and cpu always stays under 60C.My pc spec i5 640016gb ramrx 590 8gb 240gb ssd 1TB+500gb HDDno liquid cooler fan,5 120mm cassis fan and Thermaltake 620watt smart modu,,Well you may say the PSU isn't good enough, but i already know that. but psu is handling when i'm playing games or working in blender or even when i'm stress testing. why only this scene with volume tile size 4? Can a software related issue turn of PC directly? or something is wrong with my hardware? Thanks in advance

Good day everyone, i am reopening my issue with new knowledge. i previously posted in this topic: I hope this is allowed. I am experiencing game crashes and Bsod's as well as simple Blackouts while playing games. Not every game causes crashes but some do. I have experienced crashes in: "Rise of the Tomb Raider" "Ori and the will of the WIsps" The Bsod's usually hint somewhere at a problem with the RAM but they almost always happen when the graphics card is maxed out. Which is one reason why i thought the PSU might be the problem. My Setup: Intel i7 7700k MSI Z270 Gaming pro Carbon MSI RTX 2070 Super Ventus OC Be quiet! Straight Power 11 650 W (after previous suggestions i changed my psu today but got a game crash and a bsod some time after installing it.) 2x Corsair 8Gb lpx 2400Mhz cl16 (Dual Channel Mode) 1x Corsair 16GB lpx 2400Mhz cl16 1x samsung 970 m2 (system drive) 2x samsung 860 (games and old system) 1x 4tb WD Blue The 2070 is hooked up to the 12V lane 3 which can supply around 260W on its own. The operating system is around 4 days old on a new ssd. Obviously that also means that the graphics drivers are new. Bios, chipset driver landriver etc. are up to date. I hope someone has an idea. Minidumps are attached. Cheers. 061020-7296-01.dmp 061620-9656-01 - Copy.dmp

Hey all, Never actually handled a server before (at least, not an important one) and between my various options for I'm getting a little overwhelmed and could do with some advice. I plan on building a NAS for a small business, it will primarily store video and our current storage needs aren't huge but footage has to be accessible from the network and data integrity is a big concern. I plan on buying 3x 2TB drives, 2 to put into a RAID 1 array, and 1 to fit to another PC in a different building to back up data nightly. Ideally I'm doing all this from within FreeNAS either with an older prebuilt machine or a small new build. The main problems I can't quite wrap my head around right now are: 1) The business is located in a premises which experiences short lived blackouts anywhere from once a week to three times a day, always between 9-5. I'm considering a hardware RAID card with a battery, or perhaps a full battery backup for the server as a remedy to this - but I really don't understand how hardware RAID cards operate when compared to, say, a software RAID with ZFS, and definitely wouldn't be sure what I'd be looking for if I were to purchase one. Consequently I'm sure how to protect against RAID write holes when the power outs inevitably come.. What would you recommend? 2) If I choose to go with a software RAID, especially with ZFS, there's a lot of conflicting information over the use of ECC or non-ECC RAM. I understand the concept behind ECC RAM but I've never used it and amn't entirely convinced if it's going to be worthwhile for this workload. At the moment no more than 3 people would be working on the server at once and so it's not an incredibly strenuous job, even if the RAID array adds to the load. We also will be upgrading the server later on down the line and could switch to ECC RAM when cashflow is a little less tight. Is ECC RAM that important to start with? 3) The boss really likes shiny new things, and although I'm convinced that a pre-built machine off of eBay with some new hard drives fitted to it would do a fine job maybe even with a battery backup or battery-fitted hardware RAID card in order to keep things peachy I've been planning on building a little box in a BitFenix Nova with an FX-4300 a lil powersupply 8GBs of RAM and a mobo with enough SATA ports and RAM ports to provide easy upgrades in the future (presuming that we're not using ECC RAM here) - am I missing anything here? While the budget is kinda set at "beneath 400 euro please" there is flexibility and if there's anything I should be ensuring to save trouble down the line I'd happily invest now. Thanks yall!! Edit: Sorry yall, wasn't very clear: The blackouts are going to go away in a short/medium time and convincing boss to fix the problem/buy a UPS unfortunately isn't feasible rn. Protection against write holes would be very useful in case the problem comes back farther down the line or for mere days of operation where it may continue to be an issue while the server is operational

Hello! This is a repost because I didn't get help. (I'm also not sure if this is allowed..) I have a huge problem. After I wiped my hard drive and installed Windows 10 my internet speeds go to 0 and then back to normal in a pattern. I have tried other WIFI connections but the pattern keeps happening. I solved this by plugging my modem/router into my PC with USB but I also need wireless to be working. The problem is in my PC not in my ISP or my router/modem. Pls help. There's a screenshot.

Hi, I have a weird problem with my PC which is roughly 18 months old. Due to my premature diagnosis, I have already gotten a new motherboard. However the issue persists. Original build Win1064 14393.222 Gigabyte Z97 D3H (changed into MSI H97 Gaming 3 just last week) i7 4790 2x 16GB HyperX 1866mhz kits (32gb total, currently running in 1600mhz due to inability of overclocking) Gigabyte GTX1070 G1 1 Kingston SSD 1 Sandisk SSD 4 WD HDD Asus Xonar Essence STX II CM V750 power supply Recently, I started experiencing blackouts, freezes and crashes with my PC. I can always tell when the issue is coming, things will start to lag and the whole screen freezes or blacks out. Some times everything resumes normal some times my PC just crashes. Interestingly this happens in game as well, however when it resumes the game is still running fine and did not crash to desktop. When I alt tab into desktop, everything that is display related has crashed/restarted such as Chrome stop working and explorer.exe requires a restart. What I did to troubleshoot was to stress test my CPU, GPU and RAM separately. Tested my CPU with Prime95 small ffts, Furmark stress test for GPU and Memtest from HCI for RAM. I've also reinstalled most important drivers such as chipset driver, audio card driver, graphics card driver and refreshing my Windows. Motherboard BIOS is up to date as well. The issue is 100% reproducible when I stress test the RAM in 2, 3 or 4 sticks configuration. No issue with single stick in any slot with over 140% coverage on the Memtest. It will start to lag a little bit and blacks out and resume normal and it will continue to happen so long as I let the Memtest run. Linked below is an example of what happens when I do Memtest. Any chance this is due to faulty GPU?

Hey guy's, so i'm having an issue with my monitor randomly blacking out, i'll go ahead and list my specs real quick then i'll go a little more into detail. MotherBoard: Asus Rog CrossHair V Formula Z. CPU: AMD FX-8350. RAM: 16 Gigs G.Skill Trident X (2400MHz). PSU: EVGA Supernova 1000W G2. GPU(s): 2 Radeon HD 7950 DD's (In Crossfire). Okay so i have a triple monitor setup on my Crossfire setup. i don't have EyeFinity enabled just using 3 monitors. Main Display is a vizio LEDTV (Detected as display number 2) plugged into HDMI. then a Hyundai monitor (Detected as number 3) plugged into Mini Display port with a Mini Display to VGA Active adapter. And a HP w19 Monitor (Detected as number 1) plugged into VGA. So the HP Monitor randomly goes black. my Computer stays on and the other 2 screens stay on. but that monitor just blacks out. it's still on but is black, it shows picture for a little after a reboot. i've noticed while watching netflix, when i start a new episode it goes black, then if i start another one after that it will turn back on for a little bit, if i unplug it and plug it back in the display will come back shortly. but then i have the issue again. i have tried it with the Active adapter and just plugged into the VGA. the problem wen't away for a little while but just randomly came back. i have tried different catalyst driver versions, including the latest and older ones. if anyone can help that would be awesome! Thanks!

Yesterday there were some blackouts in my neighborhood and I don't have a Surge Protector where I connect my power adapter. I had my laptop disconnected from it, but today in the morning I realized that it wasn't working. Can a blackout ruin a laptop power adapter even if it's not connected to the laptop? I haven't been able to find an answer on Google, but haven't found anything yet.

I've been experiencing random screen blackouts lately. It just turns black and then comes back after around 5-10 seconds and happens even when I'm not doing anything. The monitor doesn't seem to lose detection since no usual prompt pops up. Any application I'm using, or video I'm watching just continues running while this happens too. This only started happening since I started using DisplayPort instead of DVI for my BenQ XL2420T monitor. I misplaced the DVI cable that came with it and had a very difficult time finding a DVI Dual Link cable that let me run 120hz. I opted to try DisplayPort instead and bought one from a local store. The DisplayPort cable's brand is CableMatters. 120hz works perfectly using this cable, but then the screen blackouts started happening. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and believes it's because of DisplayPort. I really don't want to hunt for cables again, and the particular DisplayPort cable I purchased was pretty pricey as well. But I'd be much happier knowing the cable was the only issue than if it were my CPU, GPU, PSU, MoBo, or anything else. Thanks! My specs are: Monitor: BenQ XL2420T 120hz CPU: Intel Core i7 3770k 3.5GHz OC to 4.2GHz SSD: Samsung 850 EVO for OS Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 970 RAM: 16GB G.Skill 1600
