Goodday everyone! I am in the process of building a small home theater and I will be using external hard drives to store my media. Using a hard drive monitor software though I noticed that the drives would reach temperatures over 45 or even 50 degrees celsius during hot days which is unacceptable for me. After trying to find a solution I thought about building a simple 2x140mm fan cooling base which will be powered directly from the wall. I have trouble finding the necessary components though, specifically a schuko to 3 pin fan adapter. All the adapters I found are meant to be used with a power supply which leads me to believe that I am not using the right keywords to find what I need. Can someone direct me to the component I need to be able to power the fans? Finally, would it be possible to give the cooling base trigger capability in order to power the fans automatically once a hard drive is powered on? Thank you in advance

Hey folks, My CPU is constantly running at its boost speed of 4.2 Ghz instead of its base 3.8 Ghz even at idle. I don't want it to be doing this so then it doesnt have to be running as hot, less power consumption, etc. I currently have a Ryzen 9 3900x that is running at base speeds on an Aorus X570 Elite. I just updated my bios to F37c and set my windows power power plan to balanced (windows 11 ver 10.0.22000 build 22000). Any support would be greatly appreciated!

Hello folks! I've been a huge fan of LTT since years but it's my actual first time over here asking for help, thanks upfront for helping me! So I'm planing to build a complete new system with the following pieces and I had a few questions about my liquid cooling loop! Please let me know in the comments if I should post scheme of my ideas or if it's clear enough that way! Ok so here's the big lines: Case: Be quiet Dark Base Pro 900 http://www.ncix.com/detail/be-quiet-dark-base-pro-61-133206.htm Motherboard: Asus Maximus VIII Formula http://www.ncix.com/detail/asus-rog-maximus-viii-formula-d5-126247.htm CPU: I7 6700K (Do I need to link that? ahah) GPU: GTX 1080 (I'll need advices picking one for water cooling it!) Ram: 16GB Corsair Vengeance LED DDR4 http://www.ncix.com/detail/corsair-vengeance-led-16gb-2x8gb-88-135582.htm (wathever the color, i'll probably pick red) SSD: Samsung 850 Pro 1TB http://www.ncix.com/detail/samsung-850-pro-1tb-2-5-ce-99906.htm HDD: 4TB 7200RPM (Probably gona go with a WD since I already got a failure on a seagate) PSU: Enermax Platimax 1200W (I already have it in my current computer and I'll keep it) Optical Drive: None, who needs that nowaday! Now as the water cooling setup here are the component i'll use: Radiator1: http://www.xs-pc.com/radiators-ex-series/ex360-triple-fan-radiator Radiator2: https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-coolstream-se-240-slim-dual (I'll get the the "why" this one later) CPU block: XSPC Raystorm Pro http://www.xs-pc.com/waterblocks-cpu/raystorm-pro GPU block: XSPC Blade GTX 1080 http://www.xs-pc.com/waterblocks-gpu/blade-gtx-1080 Tank: XSPC Photon D5 Pump Combo: http://www.ncix.com/detail/xspc-d5-photon-170-glass-75-91744.htm Pump: See tank FANS: Corsair ML120, no discussion those are simply incredible Big Lines: I want a 360MM Rad for my CPU+PCB and the 240 rad for my GPU, let me know if I should invert that. The 240 MM will be Front mounted as an intake (I know it isn't optimal but I have no choice since I can't botom mount it). The 360MM Rad will be top mounted of course. I plan to place my tank+pump combo right after my 240MM rad (Drive trays will be removed except for one as high as I can place it so everything fits in). Ok so that round up most of my setup now I had a few interogations listed below, please help Question 1: Considering my 240MM rad will be shotting hot air in my case I taught about putting a 120MM fan at the bottom of my case, in the slot closest to the rad since the other one won't be usable due to PSU. That's where came my idea of a really slim 240MM rad at the front, would I be able to fit this fan in? Is it a good idea to try to compensate for the heat driven into the case? I'll use a 120MM rear exaust fan too) but my question is: WOULD IT FIT? Question 2: As mentioned before, should I run my 360 rad for my CPU or my GPU? Because build wise it'd give a much cleaner look if my 240 Rad would be used on my CPU but performance wise is this the best option? Question 3: The tank I picked is well rated, but considering my rad will drive hot air DIRECTLY on it. should I go for a Bayreservoir (5.25 bays) pump combo? Aestecticly speaking it'd be much less apealing.... Question 4: Any recomendation on how to pass my tubing? Note that there is a PCB water block built-in the motherboard I picked (It's copper, I verified ahah) Question 5: That one is an old one... BARB OR COMPRESSION FITTINGS???????? and why? Please do not hesitate to post ANY comment on my build or recomendation all help and opinions is welcome! Once again thank's upfront everyone, let me know what you think! (LET ME KNOW IF I SHOULD DRAW A SCHEME OF MY IDEAS TO MAKE IT CLEARER)

If anyone of you owns a Dark Base Pro 900, I'd appreciate some info on it's two LED strips? From what I've seen in the tons of reviews, when connected to the controller, they can switch between 5 colors and the off state. Can they actually be connected to the motherboard or a separate controller to produce different colors or color combinations?

I have a Celeron E3300 and it has a base speed of 2.5Ghz. (I know, the CPU is outdated) The problem is. The CPU usage gets never higher than 91% and it reaches never the base speed. Is the CPU damaged? IS this normal or is it a fault of windows? Thanks in advance

Hi, My 1 year old 5.1 setup's sub-woofer is randomly stops working in between songs, all the speakers are working perfectly fine. And If I gently hit it on top with my hand when it has stopped working, it starts to work fine for some time, then after some time again stops working. I opened it up, thinking it maybe a loose wire or something, tightened all the connections, but that doesn't solved the problem. Any help? I know the sound drivers and the sound card is not causing this issue. It's really annoying when base suddenly stops in the middle of the songs, and you have hit it for the base. It's a Creative Inspire T6300 5.1. Any help? Thanks...

Hey LTT, In one of Linus' videos on overclocking an X99 CPU, after pushing the modifier up as high as stable, he pushed the baseclock up to I believe 105. However, on Haswell-e, I don't remember the term, but it's tied into the motherboard and overclocks everything, like the SATA bus, RAM etc. I don't know how much damage overclocking your HDD can do, but would it be possible, instead of pushing the baseclock up, to turn the baseclock down to say 94 or 95 and turn the CPU modifier up higher? Example: My 5820K is stable at 4.3GHz but gets iffy at 4.4. With the modifier at 43, I could turn the baseclock up to 101 or 101.1 and get 4343 or 4347 MHz respectively. What I'm proposing is to set the modifier at 44 and turn the baseclock down to 99 or 98.9, giving me 4353 or 4357 MHz respectively. Is turning the baseclock down below 100 even possible? (i have not checked the BIOS). If so, would it even be recommended, since it would theoretically decrease speeds across the system? P.S. I know, I got like a 30th percentile chip. 4.3 GHz @ 1.286v is pretty bad, and temps on the two hottest cores max out around 84. One day I plan on getting a 6850K as a stop gap to a full rebuild and hopefully I can OC to my hearts content then. Or maybe a custom loop. You should probably ignore this, I don't want to start the "when should I rebuild and what should I buy" conversation. Also, this is the video I was referring to:

Hello. I just bought a new Dark Base Pro 900 case and I'm trying to invert the door. The problem is that I don't know how to put the piece from the image below to the other side. Without it, the door will not stay closed. Did anyone try to do this? I'd appreciate some help.

Hello! I'm looking for a dual monitor stand. I have 2 24" BenQ RL2455HM and I don't know what type of stand to look for. I want the dual monitor stand since I think that itll free up some of my desk space that the normal monitor bases take. Please let me know if you have any ideas! Regards, Richard

Hello all, I am looking for games with a base building mechanic similar to Subnautica, Rust, Fallout 4 etc. Where you have to go find resources and bring them back to build awesome bases. Anybody know any games like that? Or just any games in general that I absolutely need to play? Thanks!

Hi, recently i bought a new phone but they didn't came with any earphones. So I was wondering if you guys can help me find some for around 25 euro, since i don't have so much money. I wanted to buy the Sony MDR-EX110AP at first, but a lot of reviews said that it's really treble heavy. And I can't find any better earphones that are as durable as those are. Please help.

I'm looking for a pair of headphones that has a vibrating bass, like the Skullcandy Crusher. I really like bass and how the Crusher can vibrate with it so I'm just wondering if there are any other options out there that I can look at.

Hello fellow Pc fanatics, I'm quite new to to concept of headphones ( NOT HEADSETS, DAMM I HATE THOSE THINGS). I'm trying to find a good one for playing games and music, ohh and linus tech tips videos, however i have never owned one and have only been using the horrible quality of headsets. I like a mixture of base and pure beautiful sound however im kinda a noob. I want to buy a set, but don't want to buy the wrong ones and regret it later. I'm planing to attach a modmic onto it for great quality mic sound but the headphones are the problem. I'm not in a tight budget but i don't want to go to overkill around $50 to $150. Closed back, any place to buy from and an not to noisy environment but good for things like LAN parties and tournaments Suggest your favourites headPHONES and their price Thanks for reading my nooby topic Jamesbanana (Morgan Freeman in disguise)

Hey Everyone So after a couple of years struggling with the terrible cable management in the Zalman Z11 i decided to get a new case , saw Linus's Quiet PC build and i loved the look of the Silent Base 800 Unfortunately Linus didn't do a review of the silent base 800 , so i had to look at other channels like Tek Syndicate and Hardware Canucks , after a few days of pondering details about the silent base 800 i decided to order one , this is my review of the Silent Base 800 , one thing to note tho , im my excitement i forgot to take in-progress shots of the build and case , so all i will have here is a few pics of my finished build Aesthetics I personally love the look of the Silent Base 800 , its a physically big case with subtle but notice able Orange/Silver/Black accents , depending on which one you buy of course . The Case is also color coded on the inside too , i have the orange variant of the case so i have orange cable management grommets and orange drive mounts if you buy the silver variant then you will get grey grommets and drive mounts , and if you buy the black variant you will get black grommets and drive mounts Note that there is no window on this case as of standard but Be Quiet have just announced at Cebit that a window version is coming and you will be able to buy the window separately from the Be Quiet Store , both side panels and the front draw bridge door have sound dampening foam covering the whole side panle and front door One thing to note on the Silver variant , it actually has more color than the other two variants , the silver version has silver case stands where as the black and orange variants have black case stands ( which you dont have to use if you dont want to ) The Front of the case has a Door which covers up four 5.25 inch driver bays , and a draw bridge type door that covers up the two 140mm pure wings 2 fans that are filtered by a removable mesh fan filter that looks a bit tricky to remove but is easier than it looks , also the front of the case is a brushed plastic design , there is also a 120mm pure wings fan in the back of the case , and a long fan filter at the back of the case for the power supply and bottom 120/140mm fan The Only thing i have found to be careful of is scratches and finger prints , while building the case i accumulated alot of scratches on the bottom of the case and alot of finger prints on the side panel , i cant say about dust yet as i have only had the PC running a few days Design/Looks out of 10 - 8/10 , gets scratched easily and no window (yet) The Building Experiance As i mentioned before i bought this case primarily for cable management , but i also wanted something that would last me alot of upgrade cycles and would cool my hardware enough To put it simply , this case is a dream to build in , it has plenty of room for as much hardware you could need , aswell as watercooling potential ( i would love to see a WC build in this case ) there is almost an inch behind the mobo tray for cable management which is more than enough , you can mount up to 7 HDD's and 4 SSD's , as well as the before mentioned four 5.25 drives or fan controllers and such , as i mentioned before the case comes with 2x 140mm Pure wings 2 fans and a 120mm pure wings 2 fan , if you were to buy them separately they would cost you £27 ( Amazon UK ) and those where the cheapest variants on amazon , for reference the case was only £85 , you can also add a 120mm fan on each side panel , yes thats right you can put a slim 120mm fan on the back of your case to help cool your mobo Anyway , the case was really really easy to build in , it is really big and spacious and has more than enough room for all of my hardware ( Specs in sig ) and its big enough to accommodate all of my hard ware and my big hands to put everything in , i have built a few PC's for my friends , using cases like R4/5's and some corsair cases , i can easily say the Silent base 800 has been the easiest to build in I again only had 1 issue with the silent base 800 while striping it down for building , the bottom playstic cover that hold the case stand/feet and fan filter for the bottom fan and PSU fan was screwed in AND had a sliding lock mechanism , which just seems a bit odd to me , the screws are also a bit of a pain in the bum to get at , they are in each corner of the case and you need a really thin small Phillips screw driver to get them out Marks out of ten for ease of building - 9/10 , those screws annoyed me lol Quiet-ness and Temps Lets start with the obvious , This case is made by Be Quiet! , so you can bet your ass its gonna be quiet , and so it is , the only thing i can hear in my case is the horrendous coil whine on my CX750M PSU which is in no way the cases fault now temps is where things change , My old case was a Zalman Z11 , with the case amount of fans in the same place , except the z11 only had one intake on the front i switches over to the Silent Base 800 , and my GPU and CPU temps went up 5c , at idle and load , but i believe this is because all the fans in my new case spin slower , all of my temps are still within he max temp range , my Windforce 970 hits 71c with a 1479mhz OC and my FX-8350 hits about 50c @stock , its still enough for my PC to stay cool enough for my needs i just found it weird that this case make my PC hotter , but i think that is just me Marks out of ten for silence and temps - 9/10 , very quiet and good enough temps Conclusion The Important thing to remember is that this is a Sub £100 case , and for the price it is amazing , it looks awesome , has alot of upgradability and fn options aswell as nearly £30's worth of fans included so really the case was only about £55's lol , if you are in the market for a physically big ,very well built , rather heavy ( a good thing imo ) case then i will always recommend the Be Quiet! Silent Base 800 I enjoyed every second of re-building my PC into this case , and this case also made it as easy as can be , i had no problems installing any hardware , even my Noctua NH D-14 fits with loads of room to spare i will definitely recommend this case to everyone i can , just on the off chance that i get to build in it again lol Here is a couple of pics of my Finished PC , thanks for reading , if you have any questions please ask

I'm looking for a quality headset with good sound, base, and quality microphone for pc that's good for gaming, editing, music, movies, YouTube, etc. Budget isn't a huge issue as long as their quality. I've come across many good looking headsets such as the a50s, logitech, turtle beach lineup, but it seems many of the "promising" ones have lots of bugs and issues with them such as I've seen with the a50s that makes me hesitant. I would prefer wireless headphones to avoid having lots of cables to manage but it's not a deal breaker. I would defiantly prefer 7.1 Dolby digital or at least 7.1 surround but 5.1 is ok if it's a trade off. I am aware it's hard for others to determine comfort level for a peticullar headset, but a headset known to be more comfortable in general would be very good. Having a charging stand for the headset would also be a huge plus as it looks much better, more professional, and looks cleaner. Again not a deal breaker but defiantly something I would look for in higher budgets. I very much like the look of the astro a50s but have read some nasty reviews about bugs and problems with them. Such as cutting out, buttons being unresponsive, bad drivers, etc. so if anyone has any experience with them I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

I am looking for a headset between $50-$80 that needs to have a mic, good base, and good built quality! I'm not an audiophile, I just like some punchy base! I can't really move my budget any higher so just hit me up with my options at this range!
