I want to record my gameplay but I find that AMD's record function in driver is just suck and sometimes make some DirectX errors to game. Also tried OBS but the performance lost cannot be acceptable. So I'm planning to buy a capture card to record my gameplay. The problem is, I'm using a 4k 144Hz monitor. Is there any capture card support 4k 144Hz passthrough? recording resolution is OK to be 60Hz, both external and internal type can be acceptable.

So I just received my AverMedia GC553 in the mail today. Connected everything, set it up installed newest drivers etc. and it was showing an image which already made me happy. Next thing I notrice is that after a random amount of time (mostly between 5 and 15 minutes) the preview of the image just freezes (audio does not). This obviously means that my stream / recording also stops and I have to either reconnect the capture card or deactivate and activate again in OBS. I hope that somebody knows something about this capture card and could help me :) Thanks in advance! Oh yeah also my main specs are: Mainboard: ASUS Prime A320M-K Graphics card: RX 580 8Gb CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 (stock) Ram: 16Gb DDR4 2666Mhz Windows 10 Pro newest version Also, I already know that it says "Intel chipset recommended" on their page but Ive looked around and theres a lot of people having no issues with this on an AMD system.

I prefer the Avermedia, because It'll allow recording of high frame rates upto 240 on 1080P, which I prefer, because I can fiddle with slow motion effects much better that way. But on the other hand the Elgato 4k60 Mk2, can send out two separate signals allowing you to stream at (My pref. 936p) and even record raw non-overlay vod at 4k, but it's maxed at 60 FPS for recording

So the situation is this, I have a 165Hz Gsynch compatible monitor @1440p but it woks at that refreshrate only when hooked up with a Displayport (HDMI outputs 120Hz max) I see that elgato solutions need an HDMI input... And as far as I understand none of them can output 1440p @165hz (also what about variable freshrate? ) Also as far as I understand their best product (4k60s+) has a significant delay when streaming (like above 250ms? ) I dont care to become like a "game streamer" but some of my close friends moved out of my city and now we like skype each other or what not to hang out but this gets a little tedious if our "sessions" last more than an hour and they do usually, because its not the same as hanging around in a bar or at someones place there are moments where there is silence or whatever etc. So I thought (since I am the only gamer, the other dont game but e.g when in my place they liked watching me play and brake my balls with every small detail they see which was getting into my nerves but I somehow miss that now ) that I could like play a game and have them watching and talking to me so me playing the game could fill up those intervals of silence that happen usually when we e.g talk to each other via discord or skype. The issue is that I would like to have as close to 0 latency (so that they wont ask stuff about the game footage they see that is in the "past" on my perspective and confuse me while playing like "oh you didnt pick up that thing!" "What thing?" "the thing next to the desk in that room" <--- which would be a room I already left etc) But I also would like to keep 165Hz and variable refreshrate on my monitor. Last but not least I would like to feed at least 1440p 60hz on the stream. (so having the device bypass on my monitor to hdmi is a no go) So what streaming solution (doesnt necessarily have to be from elgato) could work? Also would there be flickering issues if eg. I hook the GPU to my monitor via DP (165hz variable refreshrate) but the device (e.g elgato) to the HDMI (as a second monitor) since over HDMI the GPU could not give 165Hz feed? Last but not least could suggest to me headset with more than decent microphone and at least ok sound? Money is not necessarily an issue but I would like the best bang for the buck. Thanks

Hello everyone, I'm trying to find an answer on this. I'm about to buy PS4, I want lately Stream/Record Games. The thing is, I'd like to connect my PS4 to my PC (via Capture Card BUILT in PC) then record/stream Monitor with OBS. I want connect PS4 via HDMI to my Capture Card that is Inside of my PC, then lead HDMI from my CAPTURE CARD to monitor. Then I want to STREAM/RECORD that monitor via OBS - using my PC (I have 2 monitors). So the situation will be like this - I'm playing PS4 Game that is shown on my Monitor + I can still use my PC - work with OBS/change Scenes etc. IS IT POSSIBLE? Btw - I dont know about Streaming on PS4 via Downloading Twitch app right on PS4, i DO KNOW about Remote Play, I just want do it by this way that I wrote. Thank you so much for responding - sorry for bad english/bad describing. John Bel

So I want to get a PS4 for all the exclusive games and especially for Red Dead Redemption 2 but the problem is that I don't have a TV anymore and I'm not planning to get one anytime soon. But I have 3 nice high definition high framerate PC monitors, so I would like to just plug the PS4 into one of those. Problem is that they are G-Sync-only panels so they only have one DisplayPort adapter and nothing more. I still want to see the PS4's video on my monitors so I'm searching for a good capture card. The problem there is that I didn't find anything online that would fit my needs, the only things I could find are capture cards to record the gameplay but I don't actually want to record the gameplay, I just want a clear, latency-free fullscreen video stream of the console. Is there a way to just do this somehow and if so, what kind of hardware do I need? Or does every capture card have this option? I honestly have no idea and I hope you guys can help me out a little bit.

So... This had gotten to the point of ridiculous... This is my 5th replacement after the card bricking after about 9 months of use... and now it's bricked again and it's just outside it's warranty... The 5th bloody card and I couldn't get money back because I got assured the issue wouldn't happen after this firmware update for WIN10... Anyone else had this issue with theirs??? Any resolution to "unbrick" the damn card?? System: i7 4790K, Asus Z97 Deluxe, 16GB RAM, Intel 600P 512G SSD, GTX 1070.

Hi, I have 2 AverMedia LGP Lite GL310 capture cards and I am trying to create a live streaming using both cards at the same time. The problem is that OBS only detects one of them. The other keeps on flashing the "blue circle of death". I tried uninstalling the driver and the stream engine and re-installing them and I am still having this problem. Does anyone know how to fix this? P.S.: Laptop is Dell XPS 15 9550, Cameras Sony A6300 & GoPro Hero4, OBS 64bit version

So for a while, actually a REALLY REALLY long time, I been having this weird issue and still haven't figured out why is it doing it. I am trying to record from my other computer, but for some reason I have this green bar down below, a black bar to the right, and the rest of the display has moved up to the upper left. But for some dumb reason it works perfectly fine if I plug in my Nintendo Switch. I even tried calling them for support to get help but either they don't pick up and when they do they can't help. Anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it?

Hi guys I have a question I want to record a benchmarks TOTALY without performance impact on bench results Im thinking: Live gamer portable have pc-free mode, so i just put hdmi in, and hdmi to monitor as i should So the question is, does pc-free mode really carry all recording by-her self, or does it impact a pc ? Thanks

Hi guys I have a dedicated streaming pc: i3 8100 ASUS Prime H310M-E R2.0 8gb RAM rx 570 I use an avermedia livegamer mini capture card to capture from my gaming pc. As soon as I open Stream Labs or OBS i immediately have over 70% CPU usage. When I record and stream it completely spikes to over 90% and skips so many frames. The only source that is up is the game capture card and a webcam + overlay. I dont know why CPU usage is so high. I tried lowering my resolution, bitrate, etc. even toggled with the encoding devices to no success. Is i3 8100 not enough for this? Or do I probably have hidden drivers sucking up processing power?

So I have a AVerMedia HD 2, and I want to see if I can record videos onto my other computer with it, for some reason, everything appears to be moved to the top left when I view it, but when I view it with my nintendo switch for example, it works perfectly normal, tried contacting support but no response yet. However when I view it through my monitor it works perfectly for some odd reason. Anyone had this problem before?

I'm having issues with my streaming pc. I ran windows 7 earlier which worked fine with video and audio capture from my gaming pc, but when I switched to a newer pc and windows 10 pro N, I just can't get audio captured over hdmi. Countless tutorials on youtube show the stereo mixer procedure, but the capture card isn't listed as an audio device. Video works fine though. I've tested the Avermedia Live Gamer HD, Extremecap U3 and Live Gamer Extreme. Using the Intel QSV encoder for video. Streaming pc is an: i7 4770k 16Gb ram Nvidia Quadro 600 Avermedia Live Gamer Extreme USB3 Avermedia Extremecap U3 USB3 Avermedia Live Gamer HD PCI-E

Hey everybody! So I have a bit of an odd problem. I purchased a capture card a few weeks back to get my dual PC streaming setup up & running & I'm basically stuck using OBS Studio on my gaming PC, Fullscreen monitoring onto the capture card & than that signal going to my laptop for encoding (so basically having it set up as a third display) The issue is that the frames look kinda choppy like that & that's the only thing I have yet to solve.. I can't pass the video signal through the capture card with 2 cables bcs it's HDMI & my gaming monitor runs at 144HZ, so the only thing to do is mirroring displays & here's the weird part, When I mirror displays it works fine all the time, except while I'm in-game & DPI is higher for some reason, but only "half" the time.. For instance with PUBG, while I'm in-game shooting, driving or just running around everything is fine & how it should be, but when I press TAB to open my inventory or while I'm in the lobby, the DPI is changed to a lot higher (And by DPI I mean the speed of the mouse cursor, not the actual DPI on the mouse...) So I'm basically gaming with two very different speeds which doesn't work out... so if anybody knows how to fix this or what might be wrong, I would appreciate it very much & thank you for reading all of this all specs about the hardware down bellow, have a nice day/night! Displays: Gaming display: 24GM77-B - 1920x1080 @144HZ Second display: LG 27UD69-W / 2160x3840 @64HZ Capture card: AverMedia Live Gamer Extreme - 1920x1080 @60HZ And ofc stuff like maxing out my CPU or GPU on either computer is not the case, this is just a bizarre issue I'm having..

So i am looking at purchasing a Avermedia LIve extreme, i am a streamer who has been off for some time and awnt to change up how my streaming goes. i had a few questions on the display portion of this though. I currently have a set up with 2 computers, 1 is a laptop and the other a desktop. Here is my setup Main PC I7 6700K with kracken x62 watercooled 2x EVGA 1080 TI SC2's 32 gigs of ram multiple ssd's main screen is a samsung 43 inch 4k display secondary screen is a benq 4k 27 inch monitor Laptop(streaming PC) I7 7700HQ GTX 1060 12gb ram 1TB hard drive(thinking of putting a spare 480 ssd in there second screen on this system is another benq 4k 27 inch monitor So here is what i have looked at doing. i want to use my laptop to stream the video top twitch so i can lessen the load on my main PC by using the avermedia live extreme. i have tested duplicating my main screen into a 3rd output, but the problem is my screen runs 4k at 4096x2160. the other monitor i am testing this with is a 1080P ,monitor since thats what avermedia will be transmitting. the 1080P monitor scales it to 4k, but there are these huge black bars across the top and bottom of the screen. is there any way to make it so i mirror my main screen but at 1080P instead of 4k? i know my way of explaining this is a little confusing and im sorry if i cause confusion.

Hello, all, This is my first post to Linustechtips's forum, so let's see if you guys can help. A few years back, around 2015, I obtained an AVerCapture HD GL310 capture card (as the box says), and I couldn't use it at the time because my computer was not the greatest. Recently, I found the card once again. Realizing I may not have the cable, I dug around my various hiding places for cables and found ONE that fit the port on the side [Mini-USB]. I'm sure this is the one, as its length is about 6ft, the same as the described length of the cord than comes with the card online. I plugged my HDMI IN from my console (XBOX 1) and my HDMI OUT to my LG TV. After that, I plugged in the cord to my PC (trying both USB 2.0 & 3.0 ports) and no light is flashing. I know how the card is supposed to work, vaguely, but no recent posts online appear when looking for help. Also, while using the LGP Lite - GL310 download software, it says it is not detected. Hope you techies out here can save this $100, four year-old investment, although, if you can't, I won't be upset. Thanks, El <3

I have been looking into getting a capture card and I was going to get the Avermedia one but then the Razer one came out and I am torn. I have been really interested Razer's new streaming product line especially since they utilize USB 3.0 which I have noticed isn't present in others.

ok, i have a PS3, and i plan on getting a PS4 during the holidays, and i want to record game play from both, onto my pc. i have a beefy computer, so weather the card itself encodes the footage or the PC does doesn't matter. from the research ive been doing this: http://www.amazon.com/AVerMedia-Recorder-C985-Capture-Stream/dp/B007UXJ6LE/ref=as_sl_pc_ss_til?tag=bescapcar-20&linkCode=w01&linkId=&creativeASIN=B007UXJ6LE looks like one of the best options, im just wondering if the community has any experience with it. thanks

I just received my new Avermedia LGX GC550. When I start recording or previewing directly on my gaming pc, the preview or recoding has this weird glitch going on. I attached a recording to show you guys what goes on. When I connect the avermedia to a secondary recording pc it works normally although the source is still the same (gaming pc).
