Howdy! I built a Custom liquid-cooled Gaming PC and when I first powered it on, it wouldn't post. I checked the motherboard Debug Leds and it had a solid red CPU Light and a blinking red Dram (Which I have read is normal during memory training on am5). After trying all the troubleshooting steps (and referring to the steps on the README: How to respond to a no POST or no power up situation) I could think of I was led to believe that either the CPU or Motherboard was not functioning correctly. Using AMD's excellent RMA service I was able to relatively swiftly get my potentially faulty 7700x replaced with a brand new one, but I was still receiving the same no post and solid CPU light, after trying my troubleshooting steps once again I decided to try and get the motherboard Rma'd through Asrock (I probably should have tried to get it replaced or returned it and gotten a refund via Newegg, but I did not choose to do that at the time and I am now outside of my window to do so). I received my replacement Motherboard from Asrock about a week about and while it was not in retail packaging and it did have one of the SSD thermal pads pealed (which was the same one I peeled for my SSD on my original board), the Serial number is a different from my original board so I assumed they just sent me a working open box or repaired replacement board. Unfortunately, even with my replacement motherboard and cpu, I am still getting the same issue. I have listed the troubleshooting steps I have taken Below. I feel I have Isolated the things that could theoretically be wrong with it down to the Motherboard CPU and RAM or perhaps somehow the previous motherboard had something so wrong with it that it broke my original and replacement Cpu (which feels unlikely), Given that I have RMA'd both the Cpu and Motherboard it would lead me to wonder if something is wrong with the ram, however, I am still getting the Red CPU debug light when I try powering on without ram. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Problem: The Computer gets power but does not post, Debug Led's display solid red Light I have tried: Turning it off and on again Reseating Powercables Reseating the CPU Reseating Ram Both Ram sticks individually No Ram sticks (the blinking dram light does not turn on in this case) No graphics card (using igpu) Removing the SSD Testing the Graphics Card in another system showed it was still working although I'm not sure to what extent as I was not able to stress test it. Tried with nothing but the motherboard power cables plugged in (2x8 pin CPU, 24pin mobo) Tried Different monitor's and Different cables A different Power supply (Evga 700 Br) 6 Different wall outlets on 3 different Breakers and 2 different power cables (both of which were tested working) both with and without a UPS on all of them Clearing CMOS (both through the header and through taking out and putting back in the cr2032 battery) Updating Motherboard Bios to the most recent (2.10) Using Bios Flashback Feature (only attempted once on each motherboard, appeared to be successful both times) Tested the power supply on different PC (ryzen 7 3700x, rx 5700 xt) and ran a stress test with it and it still appears to be working fine. I've just built a hard times PC. It has a Ryzen 5 5600G in it, with Vega 7 integrated graphics and obviously no dedicated graphics card (planning to add later). For whatever reason most of the websites don't state what Integrated graphics it has. Usually they just say Radeon Graphics. And this is my first build, so I was pretty overwhelmed by the benchmarks, compatibilities, tests, picking the config etc. So I've just realised that 5600G has Vega 7 graphics, while the 5700G has Vega 8. So I started feeling bad about my choice going with the 5600G and wanted to look up the difference between them. But my lord it is difficult to figure out what is going on. So my questions are: - What is going on with AMD's naming? Why is there a random Vega 11? - Are they called Radeon Rx Vega or is that another lineup? (I have seen it many combinations) - What is the main difference between those generations? If its only performance, is it significant? - Are the numbers behind Radeon Vega xx represent anything, like i3 or b550? - Is there a difference between these integrated gpus and the mobile ones like a 4500U apu has, even with the same name? I tried to clear these things in my head but nobody is super interested in these APU-s as much as other components, so the info is also pretty limited or at least not that precise. Thanks people!

So im trying to install windows on my pc from a usb drive, but when i select it on boot override the monitor screen just blinks and nothing else happens. I have been looking around the bios to see if theres something that might be preventing it from booting but I cant find anything. I also re installed the windows media creation tool on the usb drive like tree times now just in case it was corrupted or something but no luck.

Too many times I've seen people who need help and someone replies to them with help and a question but the OP doesn't quote them... In the end, the helper doesn't reply since they never got a notification and OP didn't know they need to quote them since they're new to the forum. It really sucks and leaves the OP confused and helpless. Perhaps during someone's first few posts there should be some sort of an alert that you should quote people or something?

So, I really need a new pc. For the past 3 years I've been playing games on a Laptop with no GPU. After 900hr playing csgo with all settings on low, I've decided its time. I was thinking of buying one, but I really want to build it myself. I already tried getting reddit and going to pcmasterrace, but all my posts got deleted automaticly because my account was too young. After that, I mentioned a console once, and I got banned. I hope it's not the same here, I really don't know where else to go. If you have a problem with my post I'll take it down. My question(s): Is it hard to build a pc for the first time? What can go wrong? Do I have to pay $80 for windows?? And more importantly, will an Rx 580 and R5 1400 be enough to run games in 100+ fps 1080p (I don't mind going down to medium)? I appreciate any help at all

Hey peeps, I recently got 2 1080ti founders edition from EVGA and am unable to get anything higher than 1850 out of them. Was kindda bummed out as many reviewers had titan XPs running at 2Ghz stable in multi card arrangements. I have waterblocks on the way for the cards so I was wondering if putting them under water will improve my chances at all? I made sure to get the EVGA version as I could get a step up later on to a FTW hydrocopper if they make it in time.

So theres lots of windows updates and I always do them right away because 9 times outta 10 when my PC gets a weird qwerk it's because windows wants to update. I have no idea how that works but literally know theres an update as soon as my PC acts funny. So I always do them, 30 mins ago I did one and PC rebooted as usual and boom windows is now broken and telling me windows needs to be repaired! This have happened to me atleast 3 times in my time using win 10 and always from an update. Pretty sure it's always been a reinstall to fix sort of thing but ughhh I do not want to reinstall it.. there must be some way to fix the install. I am going to have to start making backups before windows updates.

windows 10 My computer can run everything but minecraft!!!
Ripalodeon posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Alrighty. So about 2 days ago I logged onto minecraft and every time I turned / moved my perspective my game lagged out. Whenever I moved my mouse I would get major lag spikes. I made a cry for help on the minecraft fourms but it got me nowhere. Before 2 days ago, my game was silky smooth, almost no lag ever. I tried reapplying thermal paste like 2 times and I even put back on the stock cooler for my Ryzen 5 2600X. Nothing helped. I went onto Rainbow Six Siege and I was able to play the game on High Settings with 70-80 FPS. I then went onto Cuphead and got 60FPS, no drop at all. My PC isn't overheating (I believe) I think this is a software issue but i'm not sure at all. I even allocated 6GB of Ram to my minecraft game. Nothing is working, super confused. If you want to see my original forum post, here it is: https://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/support/java-edition-support/2995540-minecraft-randomly-became-laggy Edit 1: Windows 10 64bit 650W 80+Gold Power Supply Ryzen 5 2600X Corsair 16GB Ram MSI RX580 Armor OC Samsung SSD 250GB Hard Drive 500GB Edit 2: I have the Optifine mod already installed Edit 3: Very odd, I went into spectator mode on my server. I clicked into my friend's characters and whenever I "watched" them play, it was silky smooth!!! Whenever I turn my character it lags the game, but when the character turns in spectator, it doesnt lag! Additionally, like right after I made this post, my game was running smoothly and then like 20 minutes later, the game continued to have the same problem. Super odd, very confused -

Hi, Just been loading back all my applications onto my laptop after a clean install of windows. Sadly Bitdefender Free edition is been a pain in the neck. I installed it normally without any errors or issues. Then when I went to check it worked it says its not installed. So I assumed it just needed to be reinstalled so I when to uninstall it. THEN its says its already installed during the uninstall process. So is there a way I can remove it, and reinstalled it when I cant go through the typical unistall process? Anyone else encounting this annoying issue this is the second time bitdefender has decided to mess with me. Cheers.

Hi, So when trying to update my drivers from 368.x to 372.x, The installation appears to succeed, except for the fact that during the portion where the graphics driver is installing, the screen goes black (expected), and then re-appears, but using what appears to be the basic display adapter (low resolution, and only displays on one of my monitors). My 1060 is picked up in device manager, but when I click on it for more info, windows says that it stopped working (code 43). Help?

I'm upgrading from a GT 720 to a GTX 950. I got a new power supply, 500W, and for some reason, when I start the computer up, the GPU won't! D: I press the power button, then it goes BEEP, BEEP, which it's supposed to do because the GPU's fan won't move, and then the CPU and back(exhaust?) fans work, but not the GPU, nor its fan. I tried switching from 130 to 240V, which made it even worse, as the computer would straight-up crash, restart, and then crash again, over and over. What am I doing wrong!? Please help meh! Thanks!

Yet my third post in the same section Would have thought I would have gained some knowledge but nope xDD So my previous post, http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/287082-new-gaming-pc-help/, had a budget of around £1000-£2000 but that was due to a job that I was going to get but never actually got ;/ So here I am with a different job and a smaller budget lol, my budget is £600-£800 What I want to have is a PC that can be able to play next gen games at high/ultra graphics at 1920x1080 60+fps i.e. fallout 4, black ops 3 etc. As well as have enough power to be able to stream and record on & use programs such as Photoshop. What I don't need; -OS -Monitors ( I have a 24" monitor, main one, and a 21.5" for my secondary monitor) -Keyboard & mouse -headphones I have some parts I can re-use; -128GB SSD HD -1TB HDD -8GB Ram Third post in the section, and you guys aren't sick of me yet, I hope ;D Love you all -Dan

Hey guys, I've had my current PC for about 10 months now, and at the start, everything worked perfectly. But now, for some reason, my Windows Explorer is crashing when I do certain things. It will crash when: - I try to rename multiple files - (sometimes) when I try to move multiple files to the other storage device - I try to play a large video file (through any application, VLC, Windows Media Player, QuickTime) - (sometimes) even when I open up a folder containing large files (such as a season of a television show) I uploaded a YouTube video (approx. 30 seconds) just to make sure everyone understands what my problem is. So, does anyone have any possible solutions for me to try? It would be gladly appreciated, thanks.
