Hello, so I've been trying to figure out why my framerate in minecraft with shaders is so low, and my gpu usage is low as well, peaking at 50%, and usually sitting at around 10-20. I have allocated 6 gigs of ram for minecraft, and have an r5 1600 and an rx 5700. I am using bsl shaders on the medium present, no settings changed except vigentte and motion blur disabled. I get anywhere from 5-40 fps, and get 100-200 fps without the shaders, so I don't think it's a cpu bottleneck. I seem to get low framerate regardless of what settings I use, except completely turning them off. Is there any optifine setting or shader setting that tanks performance on amd cards? Also, is there anything I should change in the driver settings? edit: forgot to say what my render distance was. I have it set to 24, but this was tested on hypixel in the main lobby, away from any people, so it's whatever render distance is the maximum on hypixel edit 2: I found this solution elsewhere, would this do anything if I could somehow replicate it on amd? "Open Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings, and set Threaded Optimization to Off, and Low Latency Mode to Off." edit 3: I apparently did notr have 6 gb allocated, and only had 2. I forgot to do that after reinstalling minecraft.

Hello, This is my first ever post so I apologise if it is in the wrong place or anything. Basically I have built my first PC the other day and downloaded some games, Metro 2033 Redux , Last light Redux and Exodus. 2033 and Last light crash however in safe mode they are playable for a while and then crash. Exodus is another story, it will not get past the first cutscene with Anna and gives me a black screen with a fatal error message. I am on the newest drivers AMD have released. Also I have tried playing State of Decay 2 which gave me a crash with the reasoning being the Physx DLL? Batman Arkham Asylum also would not start due to PhysX however I managed to fix this by manually installing it from the Nvidia website. I have no idea what to do and any help would be appreciated.

Hey guys (specs are in my bio), I bought a used 5700XT sapphire pulse a month ago, performance has been worse than my 5 year old RX 580 8GB except for highly demanding games like cyberpunk or assassin's creed. I play 1080p 240hz and in esports titles like csgo and valorant, even GTAV. My GPU will only utilize around 50-60% of my gpu in csgo's case it was 20-30%. And power draw in cyberpunk is around 200W while in esports titles it is around 60-90 Watts. csgo and valorant only runs around 170-200 fps and with stutters. Checked all my software and reinstalled drivers with DDU and disabling all AMD freesync or frame lockers I can't find a way to make it to use its full power. Would like some help, thanks

I want to upgrade to a Sapphire Radeon 5700. But I currently have a 530W PSU (Thermaltake smart SE SPS 530 bronze certified) Now the TDP of the 5700 is 180W while the 5700XT is 225W while they both recommend a 600W PSU. Now other GPUs with a TDP of 180w such as 2060super/1070ti/1080 recommend 500W-550W PSUs. Also the total power consumption of 5700 rigs on YouTube is 315W. Less than 2060/1070ti/1080 rigs. Now I'm wondering if my 530w PSU will be enough for a Sapphire 5700 Current rig i5 6600 MSI z170a krait gaming 3x GTX 960 MSI Gaming X 4g 4*2 team 3000mhz ram Thermaltake Smart SE SPS 530

It's Alive! Following instructions from a kind user on FoldingForm I managed to get my 2 new RX5700XTs working on Ubuntu 18.04.4. First you need to be running the 18.04.4 with the Hardware Enablement (HWE) so you have the 5.3 Kernal. Next you need the Adreneline 20.10 Preview Drivers Unpack them: sudo tar -Jxvf amdgpu-pro-20.10-1028677-ubuntu-18.04.tar.xz change to the directory: cd amdgpu-pro-20.10-1028677-ubuntu-18.04 install the drivers: ./amdgpu-pro-install --headless --opencl=pal Then add the unprivileged fahclient user to the video group: sudo usermod -a -G video fahclient Replace the systemd service file so that fahclient loads properly: sudo nano /etc/systemd/system/FAHClient.service [Unit] Description=Folding@Home Client After=network.target [Service] Type=simple ExecStart=/usr/bin/FAHClient /etc/fahclient/config.xml --pid-file=/var/run/fahclient/fahclient.pid --daemon PIDFile=/var/run/fahclient/fahclient.pid User=fahclient RuntimeDirectory=fahclient WorkingDirectory=~ [Install] WantedBy=multi-user.target Reboot: sudo shutdown -r now If you get No GPUs found errors then add the GPUs.txt file sudo wget http://fah-web.stanford.edu/file-releases/public/GPUs.txt -P /var/lib/fahclient/ If you get OpenCL index errors you should install the Dev package: sudo apt install ocl-icd-opencl-dev and you might need to remove then re-install the FAHClient packages or just set the GPU and OpenCL indexes manually to 0 and 0 for the first card and 1 and 1 for the second etc.

I currently have a GTX 960 and I'm looking to build a new pc with a Ryzen 5 3600 CPU. However I use a BenQXL2411 monitor which only runs on 60Hz through HDMI but full 144Hz through DVI.Option 1: Buy an RTX 2060 super card with a DVI port and keep my current monitor to save a ton of hassle.Option 2: Sell my monitor and buy an RX 5700 or XT version and shell out an extra £125-175 on an entirely new monitor. (Every 5700 card I've seen lacks a DVI port.) Option 3: Buy an expensive (£110) active dual link DVI display port adapter and keep my current monitor which would work with an RX 5700 card. Here's the BenQ monitor - https://zowie.benq.eu/en-uk/product/monitor/xl/xl2411.html (1x DVI-DL 1x D-sub 1x HDMI)Thanks for any help! ?

Which ones of the custom Aib cards that have been released do you guys recommend. I have heard that the cards have almost the same performance as each other, but the cooling is the only different, is that true? The rx 5700 mech oc is on sale at 4000kr which is roughly around 447 dollars. While the sapphire rx 5700 pulse is priced at 4300 kr which is 481 dollars. Do they perform similar or is it better to get the pulse version? I think the main difference between those cards are thermals, i have searched for reviews, but didn't find many. So that's why i ask this awesome community for help. People have told me to wait for nitro+, but it's rumoured to be released at the end of september, atleast that's what i read on reddit. I fear that the price of the pulse might go up by that time, and the nitro+ is probably alot more expensivene than the pulse verison. Some stores have already started rasing the prices of the pulse cards, to 4500kr around 505 dollars. So my question is if i should buy the pulse card now or the msi mech oc card which is on sale? Or should i wait and see if they release the nitro+ cards, but by that time most of the rx 5700 aibs are around 505 dollars sadly. I am really conficted right now, so some guidance would help me a lot! Thanks Again!

I have started the building process of my pc, but the only part I haven't ordered yet is the graphics card. I know I want the new rx 5700 but I'm not sure which card. At this point I don't care about waiting for the custom cards as I just want to use my new computer, and I have no previous pc to use in the meantime. If heat is a problem I'll get one of those arctic thingies. So now I'm lost between which brand of card to get, Sapphire, XFX, Etc. The ones I'm considering is the XFX one which has 4 stars on amazon, and 4 eggs on Newegg. The Sapphire one has 4.4 stars on amazon with 7 reviews, while has 1 egg from one review. I don't know who to believe or if I should go with another brand. Rn I'mm on vacation and when I get home I would like to be able to start playing. Please give recommendations! Thanks!

What power supply would I need for Ryzen 5 3600 and Radeon 5700 combination? Could I get by with a 550 W psu. I don't plan on overclocking.

I saw some videos recently of people replacing the stock cooler of amd's new cards with older ones from 2xx-3xx series. If anyone has to do that would be interesting to compile a list of coolers that can fit on it.

I have a simple question, will 3rd part manufacturers make navi 5700's and 5700xt's with a cooler other than the current blower style one ???

Hi all I was pondering a new GPU and I like a little bit of 1440p 60hz and a lot of 1080p 144hz. My question is do I go for a high end 5700 or a low end 5700xt, in the UK they retail about the same cost. Any Thoughts

A review was published "by accident" by a Polish site called Benchmark.pl. The review was conducted with early drivers and apparently, these drivers also don't support overclocking. Therefore, the results may not correspond to the final performance. Nonetheless, behind the Spoiler tags lies the results; benchmarking in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Far Cry 5, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, 3DMark Time Spy and 3DMark Fire Strike. Last graph is Full System Power Consumption with an i9-9900k, and it looks like Power Consumption is relatively decent when compared to the RTX 2070. Lastly, the RX 5700 looks like it will be a great price to performance offering. Source: https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-radeon-rx-5700-xt-and-rx-5700-review-leaks-out

Hey guys I just want a logic check here to see if I'm missing anything important in my understanding. So im desperately wanting to upgrade from the 970 in my main PC which has aged uh terribly. I'd love to get an rx5700 but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna have to upgrade my CPU at the same time so I don't wanna blow all my budget on that. Here in Aus I can get the rx5700 for $500 but yesterday I saw an ad for a 2nd hand good condition Vega 56 flashed with a 64 bios for $350 and it's the cooler type I want. After looking at the benchmark results I'm starting to think I should just get the 56 because otherwise I'd be paying like nearly an extra 50% for an extra 10-15fps which really doesn't seem that good especially when I'm so budget limited. I know for a fact that the 56 with the 64 bios overclocked brings in a firestrike score that's only about 200 points behind the 5700 which I think is pretty impressive. The reason I'm budget oriented is I have to change platform and Ive already got an AM4 board I can use so I want to get an R5 1600AF for it while I can because they're super cheap at the moment aswell as another 8gb of DDR4 so if I go for the 56 im gonna be able to upgrade my whole system for more or less the same amount as the 5700 alone would cost me. If I didn't have to upgrade my platform I would just go 5700 but AMD GPU's not liking x58 sort of kills my currnet main system which sucks because it has no trouble keeping up (W3680 @4ghz) but atleast I've already got an AM4 board and half the ram I need so I figure I should jump at the opportunity while the r5 1600af is available cheap because it's basically a 2600. Does my logic sound right here?

I was just wondering if the 5700 xt is going to be getting non blower versions because i've heard it runs really hot with its current fan. All the third party cards i find on Newegg are blower fans with the same mould as the og 5700 xt

Hi guys, wanting to build 2 new PCs next year. 1000 to 1200 Euros to spend. Ryzen 5 3600 seems like obvious choice for this Budget. What GPU? I first wanted to go 1660, then in Anthonys Vid for Budget options it said "if Budget =1000 -> Vega 56. Only Vega 56 variants available are MSi, Asus or Gigabyte, which I was told... suck. So what do? Thanks ahead!

So, I made the choice of getting a Radeon RX5700 about a week ago, and I've been loving it ever since, but it's really funky with my trash CPU. I was in need of a GPU after my previous one failed, so I went for a worth-while purchase and got the RX5700 while it was on sale for about only $290. It runs incredibly well on certain games and its speed is exceptional, destroying my other consideration in almost every way: the 1660Ti. However, my old setup is lagging me behind while using this GPU. I'm still running AM3+, my CPU being an unlocked AMD FX 6300, my ram being a pathetic 1333mhz, but totaling 16gb of ddr3 memory, my other stuff's a gigabyte 78lmt-usb3 r2 MB, solid state main drive, some storage HDD's, you get the picture. When I try using the GPU while gaming, things get a little weird. Some games run fine, like Forza Horizon 4 and Spyro: Reignited Trilogy (Max Graphics for Both). However some games using older architecture, like even something insanely light like Java Vanilla Minecraft, will cause lag in places that are WAY within this beastly card's limitations. I find this so strange because I'll be running a new game like Spyro with no sweat at 60fps, fullscreen, ultra graphics and vsync, but the moment I run something that isn't a newly built game, like Destiny 2, (Steam Port), I get horrid lag (avg. 40 fps) when viewing a lot of geometry, that doesn't change at all despite me altering my graphics settings from absolute low to absolute highest. My main guess is because this card is so new and beefy, my old CPU just isn't good enough for keeping up with the Navi framework when it tries to run older games. However, if I know AMD well enough, it could be a driver-side incompatibility, something they just haven't gotten around to fixing yet, or perhaps never will since they've dropped their FX line of products years ago. I'm planning on upgrading my setup to AM4+, but a good out-of-the-box setup for a gaming rig that uses the full power of this card would be $400. I know my setup's garbage, but I'm considering running with it for at least a bit more time. Until I can afford a proper and steady upgrade, are there any sort of suggestions anybody might have about increasing the level of compatibility so older stuff can run more smoothly?

I am looking at either a 5700 xt or a 5500 xt sapphire nitro, I like those models The thing is that I would like to know if the investment is the best I don't have many money for the 5700, that would take me at least 2 months more I have enough for the 5500 I have a 27 inch 1920, 144 hz monitor and don't plan to change it I dont do any AAA titles really, I play LoL, Rocket League, I think my most demanding game is monster Hunter I also do streaming from time to time My system is Ryzen 7 2700x water-cooled by masterliquid 240 B450 F Rog motherboard Radeon R7 260x 16gb Gskill 3600 mhz Ssd 240, 1.5 tb of hard drive Masterwatt 600w Lian Li 011 Dynamic Sceptre 27 inch 2019 monitor Hope you guys can help me with this, and that the info is enough Also, is it worth waiting for the 5600 series or is that jibber jabber?

I just recently built my first desktop PC, and I thought i had installed some pretty nice components to be able to run recent games well (not too crazy though),i was shooting for a decent 1440p setup. I haven't played many games, but the ones i have been playing have had some issues. Red Dead Redemption 2 is the main game i have been playing, and it works ok (to an extent). I still experience some stuttering in towns and dense areas, but its a different kind. I have played some of Disco Elysium, which seems to be the most stable of the games i've tried. The other games i have noticed perform worse are older games actually. Assassin's Creed Unity looks very choppy on high and Mirror's Edge Catalyst i just started, and i have stuttering when i turn, for about a half second that happens pretty often. It helps slightly to bump down the graphics to medium or low, but the stutter still persists on 1080p 144hz, and im getting around 100fps on 1440p with high settings. The Frame Rate appears to be steady during the stuttering with the other games as well, which puzzles me. I can't really get a gif or something of the stuttering, but i will try if you guys have any ways to do that without uploading a huge file. My Specs for my build are: OS: Windows 10 Pro x64 CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Six-Core Processor MOBO: MSI B450-A PRO MAX (BIOS version 3.8) GPU: XFX AMD Radeon 5700 RAM: 2x8GB Corsair Vengance DDR4 (3000Mhz) PSU: Corsair CX550M (550 Watt) Im using an Acer 1440p, 144hz Monitor. I've got 2 intake and 2 outtake fans, temps are normal as far as i can see. The chipset, BIOS and GPU drivers are up to date. Have i overestimated my specs? Have i skipped something in setting up my pc, or could something else be wrong? If you have any ideas on what i can do to remedy this, or if you think i have something improperly set up, please let me know. If you need any more info from me please ask, ill be happy to provide it.
