  1. Hi This is my pc spec: Cpu : Intel 6700k Mobo : Asus z270 ix code Ram ; gskill trident z royal 2x8 GB 3600 cl 18 VGA : XFX rx 580 8GB i try my best to describe my problem : i have this problem about a month and i try updating drivers, reinstalling windows, check for mobo bios update, and nothing helped at the end : 1-when xmp profile is activate the ram frequency is 3600 and cpu max or turbo is 4200 and cpu cache frequency is 4100 MHZ and i get random BSOD watch dog time out error randomly in game and i get hardware failure error when testing my system with aida 64 fpu test 2-When xmp profile is on and I disable asus multicore enhancement in the bios ,everything works fine in windows except my max cpu frequency reach 4000 mhz in windows when i check it with softwares like xtu and etc, the strange thing is in bios my max or turbo frequency is still in 4200 3- well when i disable the xmp and set the tuning to auto in bios with asus multicore enchantment on everything is ok except motherboard force cpu to work harder and it's frequency go a bit higher than 4.2 and it become hot . 4- in auto mode if i disable ascus multicore enchantment everything works fine but it set the cpu frequency to 3800 in windows . in all of the top example if i set cpu ratio manually to 42 i get bsod error and aida 64 fpu test error again and in all of above example the cpu cache and max frequency are the same in bios but in windows they are different. so i really need your help i can not figure out what is the problem.
  2. I need some help with my RAM settings. I purchased a kit of Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3200MHz (CMK16GX4M2B3200C16). I already had one these kits installed so now I have 32GB but I’m running into some errors in memtest86. If I apply the XMP Profile 1 3200 MHz and run the test I get several errors into the first past. If I disable XMP and leave the speed at 2933 memtest86 finishes without any errors. So basically these are my results XMP Profile 1 2933 MHz DRAM Voltage (CH A/B) Auto: Fail XMP Profile 1 3200 MHz DRAM Voltage (CH A/B) 1.35V: Fail XMP disabled 2933 MHz DRAM Voltage (CH A/B) Auto: OK XMP disabled 2933 MHz DRAM Voltage (CH A/B) 1.35V: OK XMP disabled 3200 MHz DRAM Voltage (CH A/B) 1.35V: XMP disabled 3200 MHz DRAM Voltage (CH A/B) Auto: Fail My system specs are: Gigabyte B450m DSH3 Ryzen 5 2600 Sapphire Pulse RX580 8GB Gigabyte PB500 I’m wondering if my new RAM is defective or it just an issue with the maximum RAM speed supported by my R5 2600 (up to 2933MHz). To my understanding RAM can perform up to the manufactures specs if the rest of the system components allowed and it is not considered defective if it can perform correctly below the manufacture specs. Correct me if I’m wrong.
  3. Anybody be able to help with this? Just finished my new build and enabled xmp in BIOS. Task menager reports 3200mhz as it should be, but hardware info and cpu-z show 1600mhz. For futher information, I have 4 sticks of corsair vengence rbg pro with (once again) xmp enabled.
  4. I bought some memory sticks 2x8 last year, they had hiyninx CJR IC’s and I just got a new pair of the same model and I got unlucky with Samsung c die (They have the exact same model number) Turns out they also have different PCB's A0 pcb and A2; It won’t even run default/auto xmp At 3200 cl 16-18-18-38 Seems as though the manufacturers cheaped out. I got it running at 2800mhz cl16 but I’m getting over 80ns Up-volting it to 1.5v 3000mhz doesn't work, it causes too many errors and crashes.
  5. Specs: Aorus B450M Ryzen 5 3600 (8gb x 2) Corsair vengeance LPX 3200MHz (CMK16GX4M2B3200C16) Built this computer in 2020 where the bios version at that time is F50. Turned on XMP which resulted in a BSOD, tried manually typing the XMP timings which worked out great. However, after about a week the computer crashed and couldn't boot up. Went to a shop to have it checked and turns out my CPU died? Got it replaced and everything is fine again (as long as XMP is turned off) One year later, a new bios version came F61. Updated to that version and tried XMP, it booted to window without any problems now. Further tested it with some memory tester such as HCI MEMTEST (1000% coverage), P95 (8 Hours) and TM5. However, as soon as i restart the computer and re run those tests again, all of them fail immediately Things I've tried: 1.Turned off XMP (2133MHz) and re run those tests (all good) 2. restarted the computer and re run those tests at the lower speed (all good) 3. tried one ram at a time and swapping different slots (all good) TLDR; All memory tests at XMP speed passes after booting directly into window from BIOS. However, after restarting the computer the tests fail immediately Any advice? Afraid that I'll destroy my CPU again if i just enable XMP
  6. Hi All, My first post here! So I built a machine earlier this year, for work, gaming and VR. PCPartPicker Part List CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 3.4 GHz 16-Core Processor (£699.98 @ Scan.co.uk) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black 82.52 CFM CPU Cooler (£89.99 @ Amazon UK) Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming ATX AM4 Motherboard (£291.56 @ Amazon UK) Memory: G.Skill Trident Z Neo 64 GB (4 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory (£586.53 @ Amazon UK) Storage: Samsung 970 Evo 2 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Video Card: PNY GeForce RTX 3090 24 GB XLR8 Gaming EPIC-X RGB Video Card (£2082.84 @ SmartTeck.co.uk) Case: Fractal Design Meshify 2 ATX Mid Tower Case (£119.99 @ Scan.co.uk) Power Supply: Asus 1200 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Total: £3870.89 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2021-08-23 13:53 BST+0100 The problem I'm having is recently I've been getting BSODs, usually with stop codes like MEMORY_MANAGEMENT or ATTEMPTED_WRITE_TO_READONLY_MEMORY or KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR. So I decided to run a bunch of RAM tests. Tests Ran all memory sticks together with Karhu RAM Tester, and raised errors. Ran each memory stick individually with Memtest86, and all but one passed. Ran the 3 passed memory sticks together with Karhu RAM Tester and after several hours got a BSOD. Going back to the drawing board after that last test failed, I considered the DOCP settings, I have them set up like so: https://imgur.com/a/f6XMpG9 Just using the default DOCP settings, as the ram is rated as 3600. I turned off the DOCP settings and re-ran the Karhu RAM Tester with all 4 sticks of RAM back in (as it seems more rigorous than the Memtest86 test), and after 17 hours and 9214% coverage, it's found 0 errors. So, my question is where to go from here? I assume the RAM itself is good, but the DOCP settings aren't playing ball somehow? In which case how do I get the speed advertised on the RAM, but also system stability? My motherboard is on the QVL list for the RAM (https://www.gskill.com/qvl/165/326/1562840280/F4-3600C16Q-64GTZNC-Qvl), so I don't understand why I'm having so much trouble. Another random point, which may be related, but probably isn't. I've noticed that the RAM RGB bottom half often flickers when running some kind of animation, all the sticks seem to do this, with differing frequency. I'm less bothered by this as it's purely aesthetics, but still a bit annoying. The weird thing is, this only seems to happen when it's running an animation via Asus Armoury Crate, if it's left to it's default rainbow animation it works fine. Which makes me think it's a software problem rather than an hardware problem. (Video of this issue here: https://imgur.com/a/f6XMpG9) I've also updated the BIOS to the latest stable Thanks!
  7. Immediate help required - Hello, I recently (today) installed a Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB DDR4 3000MHz (cl16, VER5.39) RAM module in my PC which already had a Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB DDR4 3000MHz (cl16, VER5.30) module. The only difference in those two modules are the Version No (5.39 vs 5.30). Every game I open, it just crashes instantly and I never make it past the menu. I ran Windows Memtest and no errors were detected twice (normal mode). I tried running Premiere PRO and it worked fine even tho it was pushing total RAM usage to around 7GB System Memory and 2GB iGPU Shared Memory I have a Ryzen 3 2200G and I am using the Vega 8 iGPU. I have allocated the 3GB Vram in the BIOS and XMP is applied I did test with XMP disabled but no luck. P.S - Even Google Chrome is giving "aw snap" error
  8. Hey guys, I recently decided to upgrade my system, so I bought motherboard, memory, m.2 nvme ssd and used cpu. Everything seems to be working well, but I can't enable XMP on my new memory. Everytime I play with the frequencies or timings I get blue screen or memory errors. My hardware: CPU: Ryzen 3900XT (Used) RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX Black DDR4-RAM 3600 MHz 2x 16 GB 64GB in total (Brand new) Motherboard: MSI MEG B550 UNIFY Gaming Motherboard ATX-AMD AM4 Ryzen 5000 Ready (Brand new) SSD: Sabrent 2TB Rocket NVMe PCIe M.2 2280 Internal SSD (Brand new) GPU: MSI ARMOR GTX 1060 (From old system) PSU: Corsair RM750 (From old system) Cooler: AIO Corsair H100i V2 (From old system) Things I tried to fix this problem: Update BIOS. Tried 2 different BIOS versions. Tried to use XMP1 and XMP2 profiles. Tried to manualy tune the memory using DRAM calculator. System didn't boot after that, had to use CMOS Tried to lower the frequency, I could boot at 3200Mhz but the system wasn't stable. Memtest showed some errors. Is it normal that XMP profiles doesn't work? Do I need to buy better memory or is it my motherboard causing all those problems? Thanks for your help! References:
  9. I can´t understand very well some things about overclocking and also I cant activate the XMP profile on my bios and I don´t know why. Can anyone help me? It would be perfect if we can talk via discord.
  10. I recently bought a second hand pc with Corsair CMK16GX4M2B3000C15 RAM, which is supported by my motherboard - a ASUS H170-PRO - but whenever I try to use XMP, the pc stays on but does not display any video output at all. I updated the BIOS to the latest version but XMP still doesn't work even though the auto timings are all correct. I tried it at slower speeds like 2933 and 2666mhz but it still does not work and just stays on forever (at 1 hour I manually turned it off) and I have to force it to shutdown, when it displays that the overclock failed due to 'system instability' or due to a force shutdown. FYI, my CPU is an i7-6700k not oc Please give me any ideas as to how to fix the issue and I have attached a CPU-Z report of my pc CPU_Z.txt
  11. Hey, y'all. I just upgraded from a 2600 on a B350m Steel Legend hoping to fix this issue I was having with my RAM not even running close to XMP but I still can't get there, looking to see if anyone else has had the same issue. Ryzen 5600X B550M Steel Legend 4x8GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3200MHz CL16 I technically bought the 4 DIMMs in two sets as I just ran two sticks for a while and bought 2 more of the same package when I had some more money. The first are Hynix C die, the second are Samsung B. I haven't had time to test using one set or the other to see if there's an issue with the Hynix C set or an advantage to the Samsung B set but I really don't think there should still be an issue AT LEAST getting up to the rating the package was designed and sold for. So, on the old system I would try to run XMP and it would do it's little memory learning thing and just get into a cycle that never ended of the GPU rgb flashing on and off, not getting anywhere, booting back up and resetting itself to 2133MHz (or me having to just power cycle manually), even if I had good settings running previously at, say, 2733MHz before. That got really annoying because I'd usually have to do a CMOS clear to get it to actually take new settings once that happened. Now, with the new motherboard and CPU I tried enabling 3200MHZ CL16 XMP, which should be completely supported by the CPU and MOBO and it still doesn't load. I've gotten it to at least run currently at enabling XMP to pull in proper timings and voltage but lowering it to 3000MHz and that works for now but I really want to see if anyone else has had the same issue, if you've seen any fixes, if there is something I'm missing, etc. Cheers, Bob
  12. So, since part prices are god awful right now, I caved and bought a pre-built Lenovo Legion TR5, then replaced the psu in it. It came with a single stick of 1x8 ddr4 ram, rated to run at 3200 mhz. In the UEFI, it states it is running at 3200 mhz. How-ever once the system launches and I check in speccy, it says it is running at 1539 mhz. I've never had speccy give an incorrect reading before, how-ever I know it's a possibility. The UEFI doesn't have any option to enable XMP, or RAM overclocking of any kind, and as far as I'm aware it's impossible to access the actual BIOS with Lenovo's weird firmware. Is this just an incorrect reading, or is my ram really running at half of it's operating speed?
  13. I have recently gotten a new laptop and was hoping i could upgrade my ram to be faster, but there is no XMP profile option in the regular bios. I had heard that the previous gen models have an advanced bios with XMP settings, but it looks like the combination was changed of this laptop, so i have to figure out what the combination is to getting acces to the advanced bios. Is there a way i can get acces to the XMP profiles on my laptop or get the combination to the debugger/advanced bios? I have the lenovo legion 7 16achg6 (2021)
  14. My build: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/41327088 Used this new ram for a month with XMP enabled, running at 3600 no problem. Replaced my CPU fan, and now the PC won't boot (goes straight to BIOS), and there it suggests resetting to defaults and rebooting. PC boots fine with XMP disabled, ram running at 2133. Benchmark is from right after I installed the new ram (with the old fan). I no longer have access to the old fan, it's in a friend's PC 4 hours away from me. PSU is this, purchased late Nov 2019. Tried: -Verified RAM is in A2+B2 -Updated BIOS to F10k -Complete disassembly/reassembly of the PC. -Removing CMOS battery for 10 minutes -Booting with only 1 stick of ram at a time (both fail) -Brand new identical ram I'm at a loss. I'll try anything. Thanks.
  15. Im having an issue where when im playing a game sometimes it crashes and I came to the conclusion that I need better ram. While evaluating I realized my ram was running at 1200mHz instead of 2400mHz. I immediately went to bios and looked for something to fix this issue and couldn't. I couldn't find XMP or AMP nothing. I went searching and found out that in the bios It detects the ram is 2400mHz but in windows and ubuntu it runs in 1200mHZ. 17. What difference between DOCP and set same settings manually? ASUS X470F M/B I had DOCP but had issues with Cyperpunk crashing when RT is on. I set timing manually same as DOCP, reduced speed from 3200 to 3000, same voltage as docp. No more crashing.
  18. Hello peeps, I recently upgraded from a ROG z270 to a ROG z490, I remember enabling XMP on my Z270 and it did work with a 6600K to boost the memory frequency to 3200Mhz however motherboard died after some times and its 95% because of the XMP. (mobo goes into infinite boot loop red led then orange and again). Now with my Z490-F, I can't even go higher than 2133 Mhz. After enabling XMP the board turns off and on TWICE then goes into the same cycle as the Z270 for at least 4-5 times then sends me to bios and the screen before that telling me i booted into safe mode and have to press F1. I never manually overclocked because I don't know how and would rather use the pre set profile just so I don't burn anything. Can anyone help me fix this? 19. Well my desktop started to spit out bluescreens, not very frequently but there is tell tale sign something have to do with RAM. I have the sticks running XMP for the last one and half years in my Aorus X570 Elite with a AMD Ryzen 5 3600. (Ram bought in Nov 2019) Date | Error message | Stop Code 4/14 MEMORY_MANAGEMENT 0x0000001A 4/12 MEMORY_MANAGEMENT 0x0000001A 4/12 PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA 0x00000050 4/5 KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR - 0x0000007A 3/22 FAULTY_HARDWARE_CORRUPTED_PAGE 0x0000012B 3/8 MEMORY_MANAGEMENT 0x0000001A I went and test the Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro using Microsoft's Memory tester and the sticks failed the test. Windows report really don't have anything more than "its broken"... So then I used MemTest 86+ (v8.3) and it got bombarded with 10000+ So much so the MemTest stopped the test... (See report MemTest86-Report-20210414-171233) (Note stick -440 is in Slot B2 and -441 is in Slot A2, these two are the slots should be populated first and allows ) Then I removed one of the two sticks (-440 from Slot B2) and found out the cuprite is -441 in slot A2 (See report MemTest86-Report-20210414-212128) To make sure -440 is good, I took -441 out and plug -440 back to its original B2 slot, the ram Passed the test (See report MemTest86-Report-20210414-235434) To make sure the slot A2 isn't at fault, I pulled -440 out from B2 and installed in A2 (which was -441's initial slot). It passed a pass of test so I decided that should be enough to conclude Slot is good. And lastly I tried plug in both sticks in but in reversed the slots -440 is in Slot A2 and -441 is in Slot B2 and no surprise they failed the test... Note fault address had shifted, as expected when ram physical location changed. (See report MemTest86-Report-20210415-031012) * As I typing this post I tried to run the test again, within first pass, it already give me 8000+ errors, mostly in 1EDBA**** address range.(I guess one of the chip on the stick is busted...) With this much testing, I think I can conclude the fault is in the Corsair Ram instead of my Mobo/CPU? I don't have another set to switch out and test. 20. I have been running 4x8gb CL16 gskill trident z @3200mhz for 3 years now with xmp enabled on a 9900k/z370e. Now all of a sudden I cant get my pc to boot unless I disable xmp. Did the memory or something mobo related just wear out? Thinking the voltage might be to low. any recommendations on what to try?
  21. I recently just got this ram and I am not able to enable the 3600mhz xmp on it. I have a asrock sfeel legend x570 with a ryzen 7 3700x and the bios is up to date. I did do a memtest86 and there were 0 errors with the ram. I saw that the Ryzen 7 3700x only supports up to 3200mhz ram? It runs just fine with no xmp enabled on the ram and I have used 3000mhx xmp before on the same mobo. Do I enter the oc manually or am I missing something?
  22. Hey there. I think this other thread is very similar to mine but it's not quite the same. https://linustechtips.com/topic/1306961-xmp-causing-bsod/ I am on a z390 gigabyte board and I am running the latest bios which I flashed myself previously. Everything is updated , drivers OS, etc. . I've used my computer for well over a year with no issues on the xmp @ 3200 but now suddenly when gaming I'm getting memory_management, irql_less than, kernel errors etc. It's really only when I've got the xmp enabled. I'm happy to replace the RAM or the motherboard but both work just fine with no xmp. The xmp profile actually results in drastic increases in fps which is why I care so much. I ran memtest86 and after 6 hours no issues with the RAM. I am running Corsair CL 14 RAM I believe. Recommended for the board. Curious about the thoughts on if this is a mobo issue or memory and how I might tweak to correct it? Maybe mess with voltage settings a bit?
  23. Hello LTT Forum, first time poster here! I am asking you guys for help since I could barely find any information on LTT / Google about my specific issue. If anyone has experienced this please tell me. RIG: Ryzen 5950X, RTX 3090, Crosshair Hero VIII Wifi, Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 32gb 2x (SKU cmw32gx4m2c3200c16). I also checked that the RAM is listed in QVL as compatible with DOCP and 4 DIMMs directly on the ASUS support page, you can also find that here and find it with CRTL + F: https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/SocketAM4/ROG_CROSSHAIR-VIII-HERO_WI-FI/Memory_QVL_for_AMD_Ryzen_5000_X570-4DIMM.pdf The issue is, as in title, that my PC does not boot when I enable DOCP in BIOS. In fact it instantly shuts off and retries 3-4 times until it asks me to setup the BIOS again due to the failed POSTs. Funny enough is that this issue persists with 2 DIMMs from the same kit, 4 DIMMs and even the DIMMs swapped out and tried in different slots. Sometimes it also works but randomly stops working when adding new RAM or randomly upon boot so I begin again with 2133MHz. Without DOCP the RAM works, I tested PRIME95, checked if RAM has any issues and in general without DOCP the system really rocks, but DOCP would be so nice to have working, especially when it is literally listed as working in this config. At this point I feel like the RAM kits are fine and the MOBO or the BIOS is the issue here. I tried the BIOS 2311 and 2702, I will test the BIOS version 2502 right now but I doubt it's success. Anyone else here with same config or maybe I missed a forum post with that EXACT same issue? I would even give something back for a solution that makes this work. lol Thanks for reading and even if you don't have a solution I'd be glad to hear if I am at least not alone with this or maybe I made a mistake with the config.
  24. My system: OS: windows 10 pro 64 MB: Asrock 570x taichi (with latest bios) CPU: 5950x Ram: G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 4000 (PC4 32000) SSD: Corsair Force MP600 M.2 2280 1TB PCI-Express Gen 4.0 x4 NVMe GPU: msi nvidia 1070 (place holder edition) So my RAM (https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-32gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820232973?Item=N82E16820232973) runs at 2133 hz and 1.200 v if I leave everything in " auto" settings in bios. If I enable XMP the settings change to 4000hz and 1.5v. At this setting the desktop loads and everything appears to work fine untill I try to load any game. All games start as normal and run up to the point of actually loading in. At that point I get fatal errors and crash to desktop. I tried to manually set the XMP settings and still have the same issue. This ram was not cheap! Is it deffective? Should I return it to Newegg before my return time is up? Or is there something I am missing? XMP is all new to me. Benchmark links: With XMP, https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/35946782 No XMP, https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/36396630 Thank you for any help,
  25. If anyone has this F4-3600C16Q-32GTZNC Which G.skill's 32Gb 4x8GB 16-19-19=39 kit and managed to reduce the timings, What were you able to achieve with it? don't care all to much about any speeds above the stock 3600Mhz DO NOT REPLY TO THIS FORUM POST, IF YOU DO NOT HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH SAID RAM KIT! those who do, I thank you.
