gpu Copper wire sticking out of GPU, should I be concerned?

Might seem like a silly question, but here goes: Earlier today I opened up my PC to swap out my old PSU for a higher wattage, fully modular one, and of course to do this I had to temporarily take out my GPU. However upon doing this, I noticed that there was a copper (I think) wire sticking out from one of the coils on the GPU. Note that my PC has not undergone any rough treatment or movement since I last opened it up, so this must have somehow spontaneously happened while the computer was running. I have also never run into any errors relating to the GPU, despite my computer having obviously been running for a supposedly long time with this wire sticking out. Anyway fast forward to now, the power supply swap went off without a hitch and my PC is up and running again. I tried running Destiny 2 and overclocking my GPU, and nothing bad has happened (yet). But I thought it'd still be a good idea to ask here. Here are some photos for reference. It's a GTX 1060 STRIX for anybody wondering:

Need help with finding the proper place for my front panel power button... check the manual cover to cover.... does it just not support it??? The cable it a two pin. My case is built by razor lian lit and my motherboard is in the title. Any help is help as long as it’s useful. Right so we have a big thick wire (about 1 inch diameter) coming out of our wall at a sharp angle down, and we want to cover where it comes out with some sort of hood. Any suggestions?? -

so my friend has broken his headphones... again... so the cable is detachable. the part that you connect the cable is broken (circled in red) i checked the cable is not faulty. i also tested the headphones with other cables and the issue persists. my plan is to cut the red circled male jack and the female jack on the other cable (circled in green), soldering the wires together and covering it up with black sugru glue so it doesn't look ugly. what do you think? btw I put this in peripherals and not audio since it has to do with fixing headphones. not choosing the right ones or other stuff

as you can see from the pics below my psu wire is interfering with my radiator at the top of my case, does anybody know of somewhere i can get a wire for my psu that bends on its own as soon as the wire exits the socket it is plugged into? my wire has been like this for a while now and i am going to do a bit of an upgrade and wanted to know if i can get anything for the next time i open up my PC for some upgrades. psu-silverstone sx500w

hello everyone now this is my first time here on linus's forum. anyways coming to the question .i bought a gaming headphones(kotion GS410) from amazon recently. and for my taste the audio is pretty good and that's not a problem here ,the problem is it's cable which is way too long which people may say good but it really makes me be careful as it gets stuck under the chair .and i don't want to damage my headphones because simply i cant afford them what do i do now.

The IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) has just approved a new standard for Ethernet with the capability to allow for 200Gbps and 400gbps Ethernet speeds - great for cloud computing and data centers - also for Enthusiasts, *Cough, Linus*. At its max throughput, the 400Gbps allows for the transfer of files at speeds of 50GB PER SECOND. But what does that mean for the average PC gamer - if you had this connection, theoretically you would be able to download all of GTA V (around 65GB) in UNDER 2 SECONDS. Don't get your hopes too high though as this is NOT coming to desktop users (I assume yet - in the future, maybe?). Here is a quote from the Chairman of the Ethernet Alliance: My thoughts? Holy balls. This is awesome. While it will not be for consumer use - yet, I assume this will trickle down in the future. Personally - I feel like Ethernet has been stagnant for a while with speeds. I have 1 stock fan that came with my case (Corsair Carbide Spec-01) and another corsair AF120 red lit fan. My issue is my mobo (AsRock H81m-VG4 R2.0) only supports 1 case fan,one cpu fan and one gpu fan. My 4790k's heat sync is occupying the cpu and my GTX950 is occupying the gpu slot and my stock fan is occupying the case fan slot. I wanted to know if anyone tried stripping 2 fans and making them bother run with 1 connector seeing as both the fans use 3 pin connectors i was hoping it was possible,but this is my first PC build and i really don't want to break anything. Thank you.

My Cloud II headset has a problem with the usb end where it connects to the controller. I have noticed that my computer does not see it unless I bend the wire in a certain way. I wish I could repair the wire but the end is laced with fabric. Is there anything else I can do to fix this?

Hey everybody, There's been a pretty slight clicking/sputtering sound coming from my tower for quite some time. It goes on for several fast clicks for maybe 10 seconds then stops. Repeats again several seconds later. Sometimes maybe a minute goes by without any clicking. Could it be a wire rubbing up against the case fan or cpu fan? -

To put it simply, heat generated in any resistive circuit (anything that isn't a superconductor) is directly proportional to the current^2 * resistance of the circuit. The resistance of a wire is inversely proportional to its diameter. As wires get thinner, resistance grows, heat generation increases, and heat dissipation abilities are lost, hence the Tantalum Nitride layer. All the major semiconductor companies are having issues reducing the size of their metal layers because of these effects which also effect clock rate ceilings. Stanford has found a way to use Graphene to replace this layer, and constructing the graphene sheaths is actually easy from a manufacturing standpoint compared to trying to produce uniform sheets of the stuff, and a perfect lattice isn't required. A single support layer of graphene would be 1/8 the thickness of Tantalum Nitride, but what wasn't covered in the ExtremeTech article is even more interesting. Graphene has a greater than ideal thermal dissipation property. Due to quantum mechanical effects beyond my education level in the field, graphene conducts heat better the longer the path between the source and drain becomes, a behavior contrary to every other material on earth (to my knowledge). In other words, the effort needed to keep a CPU or GPU cool may take a nose dive in the next five years. Furthermore, because of this heat dissipation ability, we should see semiconductor companies being better able to shrink their metal layers again, meaning ever more transistors for you and me. The power button on my case doesn't work because the cord between the button and the motherbaord was snipped whilst the computer was turned off. Have you got any advice? My grandfather who has experience in electrical says just using a block to bridge the wires (and making sure positive goes to positive, negative goes to negative), and the power button should work like normal. I've taken the jumper off the motherboard for now and am just using the motherboard's power button. Any thoughts?

Hey everyone, I'm a bit curious about something and was wandering is you could share your enlightenment on the issue. Backstory - recommend you read The Question Why is my WiFi beating my Power-line in speeds and Ping? Would the extra earthing fitted by the electrician effect the speeds? I am not using Wireless AC, although my router does combine both the 2.4GHz and the 5GHz band, if that would make any difference. My router does support WiFi AC but I am not using it, my WiFi card only supports up to the N standard. I would like your input, and thanks for reading the minor essay I had written above. So I recently attached my PS3 to the back of my 32" tv so that it would be hidden. Since I live in the Air Force dorms I'm unable to physically modify the room, otherwise it would be pimped. But now all the wires from the PS3 and TV were just hanging there and it was going to bug me. Thankfully I just bought these Cable Tie plugs from Menards for $2 today to tie a wire harness on my truck up. Tools and Hardware Drill and bit (1/4") GB Push Lock Base - Cable Tie Mounting Base (Fits 1/4" holes) Zip Strips (cable ties) Drill the hole You need to find and mark the spots where you would like to add a mount. You should be careful to not go to fast to punch through and hit the electronics. I happened to know exactly where the electronics were so I was solid. Snap the Mount in Pretty simple. Just press the pin in so that it snaps and clicks. Finish it up Now you can take the wires and the zip strip and loop it through and cut the excess length.

I am trying to find what wire I will need to use in order to make and sleeve custom wires for a new PC I will be building. It is the first time I will be building a PC hence why I am asking what may be a basic/beginner question. I will be using 16 awg wire but I am not sure on what specifications it needs to have such as the voltage rating, material etc. Also I am in the UK so not sure if that will affect it at all. Would this wire be sufficient or would I need lower voltage rating or any other specs that may need to be different? I will be using the Lutro0 supplies to sleeve the wire. Thank you in advance for any advice on this.
