Which RAM is better ( both work on my MB with XMP profiles as specified, AM5 platform): Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5-6400 2x48GB, CL32-40-40-84, 1.40V Gskill Trident Z5 RGB DDR5-6400 2x48GB, CL32-39-39-102, 1.35V Differences: A) 1.4V vs 1.35V: Does the higher voltage have a relevant disadvantage (power consumption, lifespan, heat development)? B) Timings/Latency: CL32-40-40-84 vs CL32-39-39-102 --> Which overall values are better, Corsair or Gskill? C) The DIE manufacturers: Gskill apparently has a Hynix A DIE. I don't know about Corsair. Does the DIE manufacturer matter if I don't overclock the RAM or change the timings/latency?

Hey there. Total newbie here to overclocking. I recently won a RAM kit through a giveaway (V-Color Skywalker Plus 64GB (32x2) 4400MHz 19-26-26-46) and want to put it into my PC. My current mobo (MSI MS-7B86 "B450 Gaming Plus") only supports OC up to 3466MHz. I was curious if any more experienced overclockers could give some recommendations on timing settings (outside of just clicking XMP) for my mobo? Would 3200 at a certain timing setting be better than maxing out to 3466? As you can tell, this will be a massive upgrade from what I had, but a bit overkill for the rest of my system. Haha. (Plans to upgrade mobo and CPU in the future) but for now would like the best performance I can get out of this new RAM. Any thoughts? Full PC Specs: CPU: Ryzen 3600X RAM: V-Color 64GB (32x2) @ 4400MHz (previously 16GB (8x2) @ 2666MHz) Mobo: MSI B450 Gaming Plus (MS-7B86) OS SSD: WD_Black SN850 500GB (+ other storage SSDs) GPU: GTX1650 Super PSU: 450W

Hey, I have a few Questions that i just don't find answers for. Thats my configuration right now: Slot #1 & Slot #2 = 2* Samsung 8GB 2800MHz 1R CL14-36 G.Skill Slot #3 & Slot #4 = 2* SK Hynix 8GB 2800MHz 1R CL14-36 G.Skill I wonder if it would "decrease" Performance or "async" the Infinity Fabric if: 1. I would Overclock Slot #1 & Slot #2 (with the "better overclocking capable" Samsung DRAM) to something like 2800 MHz CL12-34, but keep the Overclock of the Slot #3 & Slot #4 (with the "worse overclocking capable" SK Hynix DRAM)? 2. I would further overclock all Slots to 2400MHz CL12-34? 3. I would overclock the Infinity Fabric to 1800MHz but keep the DRAM at 2800 MHz CL14-36? Thats my System: CPU = Ryzen 5 5600X MB = MSI B550-A PRO RAM = G.Skill 32GB 3200MHz CL16-38 ^^ 2* Samsung 8GB 2800MHz 1R CL14-36 G.Skill ^^ 2* SK Hynix 8GB 2800MHz 1R CL14-36 G.Skill GPU = RX 6800 XT Midnight Black 16GB 2400MHz@990mV MPT 345W max. Power Draw PSU = BeQuiet System Power 9 700W (672W@12V Rail) Sorry for my bad english, Thanks for reading and maybe answering!

Hey there everyone! So I've been encountering a TON of crashes/errors that I was not having before after upgrading my RAM, from two sticks of Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR4 3600, to 4X 16GB sticks. I purchased them from two different vendors (Amazon and Newegg) and it appears that the dies on my sticks came from Samsung, and Sk Hynix, with my original sticks being the Samsung dies. I'm not exactly sure which set came from where, but I suspect the Samsung BDIE sticks came from Newegg. I haven't done anything with timings/voltage, as I'm not super knowledgeable with that (but would be willing to give it a shot!) I do however, know my way around the BIOS fairly well. My timings seem to be just slightly different across the sticks, but not by much. Could anyone shed some wisdom on my foolish self -- is it problematic to be running multiple different manufactures, of the same 'type' of RAM...? Also, even with XMP enabled, I'm showing TERRIBLE RAM speeds, of about 1799Mhz, on sticks rated for 3600. I'm running a Ryzen 3700x, on a MSI B450 Tomahawk Max MB. Bit of RAM info below, for anyone brave enough to peruse it: Help?

Hey, got some problems with my kit. If I hit up the xmp profile I notice some delay with the mouse (especially in csgo). To give some reference 1000hz polling rate feels more like 500 hz (with a crapy mouse). I tried to set configure the timings manuall and kind of fixes the problem but then I get random ingame crashes and some stutter. Xmp profile passes memtest. I have talked to corsair support and they blame the bad auto timings on amds. I had 3 mobos with same behaviour with them all. My 2 asus mobos even showed 2 different timings on a and b channels (2*8gb). The kit doesn't overclock at all. They are combined with a 3700x (stabled clocked 4.4ghz@1.28v), 3070ti and a corsair rm850x. This been bugging me for long and really don't know what to do. Can't rma the kit cause they pass memtest and corsair pointing fingers at AMD, my retailer points the finger at AMD and claim that there is nothing wrong with the kit cause it passes memtest. But at the same time I know differences between a responsive crosshair in Csgo and a "slow" reacting. Any ideas? I'll put a lot of money into this build for a long time and even borrowed money for the gpu and just can't afford getting a new kit. So all good advice is welcomed!

Hi everyone, I'm looking at these 2 GSkill kits: F4-4000C16D-16GVK - 4000 MHZ, 16-19-19-39 at 1.4v F4-4000C16D-16GVKA - 4000 MHZ, 16-16-16-36 at 1.4v They both look like Samsung B-die. I'm thinking, maybe they made the 16-19-19 kit because some CPUs can't do 16-16-16 and the XMP will fail, but other than that, both kits are identical and will do 16-16-16 at 1.4v. Can somebody confirm that? I know B-die generally does flat timings, or maybe +-1. Maybe the 16-19-19 kit isn't B-die?

Hey guys, first time posting here, just looking for some advice. Few years ago a bought a kit of 2 x 8 Gb of 2400 MHz ram from G skill (G.SKILL F4-2400C15D-16GTZR Trident Z RGB Series 16 GB (8 GB x 2) DDR4 2400 MHz PC4-19200 CL15 Dual Channel specifically). I've been very happy with it ran with no issues for years, a few weeks ago my brothers PC stopped working and he's sent his ram to get repaired to Corsair. In the meantime, he's using one of my 8 Gb sticks. I'm now wondering, if he keeps one of my 8 Gb sticks, can I buy another 2 x 8Gb kit and have 24 Gb in my setup? The only reasonably priced Gskill kit I can find at the minute (in the UK) is this ( https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01MTDEYHU?pf_rd_r=K8DKDD28X5NEC1S4FQKC&pf_rd_p=6e878984-68d5-4fd2-b7b3-7bc79d9c8b60&pd_rd_r=0ee542f5-6ab3-4dd8-a53d-b5489d4180a0&pd_rd_w=6FCXH&pd_rd_wg=3UX0I&ref_=pd_gw_unk ) which runs at 3200 MHz and seems to have different timings: CL16-18-18-38. I'm running an i5 8600k, a 1080 Ti and a Gigabyte gaming 3 mobo if that helps. Is this gonna work? Any advice appreciated

Hey guys:) This is my first post so please be kind. I am very sorry for bad English, my mothertongue is German. My system: Motherboard: Aorus X470 Ultra Gaming CPU: Ryzen 7 3700X @ 4.2 GHz on all cores GPU: MSI RTX2070 Armor also overclocked ( Afterburner: Core Clock +190 MHz , Memory Clock +1000 MHz) RAM:2x 16GB G.Skill Trident Z Black & White 3600 Mhz (CL17) So I was getting into overclocking and was tweaking CPU and GPU settings when i noticed that my RAM was at CL22 in CPU-Z. I went into my BIOS and turned off XMP and set my timings to 17-19-19-39-58 but the timings didnt change at all in CPU-Z. How do I set my timings correctly so that they appear in CPU-Z correctly? system.txt

Hi, I recently bought a kit of 2 corsair vengeance rgb pro at 3600 cl16 (Micron E-die) and overclock them, I want to know if it's a good overclock. The xmp profile is 3600mhz cl16-19-19-36 1.35v and i managed to run them stable (i think) at 4266 cl17-22-22-42 1.45v, I left the other timings in auto as well as the other voltages. I use memtestpro86 to verify if it's stable runing it for 45 minutes. Is this overclock good or the tRCD, tRP and tRAS values are too high? Motherboard: Z490 gaming edge wifi CPU: i5 10400f

Please bare with me so I can explain in some detail what the issue is and what I've tried so far... So I'm working on helping my friend fix his PC. It's only around 4/5 months old and for a while he's been having issues with it. Early on it was getting errors playing games like Tarkov. The common error he was getting was a page file/virtual memory error. Something around the lines of running out of memory etc... However, as time went on and after adjusting virtual memory on his pc to solve this, it was only temporary. Lately his pc started crashing / blue screening. I worked on it last night and tried the following: Wiped all drives and installed a fresh copy of Windows 10. (Installed all updates and drivers and tested Tarkov while screen sharing over Discord and running TeamViewer to control it. I wanted to push the ram a little to test. It has 16gb, running at 3200Mhz, and it wasn't using much to assume a fault would or may occur. But it did.) It blue screened again. Reset BIOS to optimized defaults and booted up. This in turn has obviously reset the RAM back down to the 2133Mhz default. (PC seemed to be fine, we never stressed it this time. I went straight in to setting a bootable usb up with Passmark Memtest86. We ran this for a few passes and no errors were found.) RAM is still set to 2133Mhz as default. PC is running fine as of last night. (As of this morning I am starting to think that the issue lays within the ram being overclocked to 3200. However, this ram is the Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16gb 3200Mhz (2x8gb sticks) Here's some information I should include: This PCs specs are the exact same specs as my nephew's PC. I built both my nephew's and my friends. However, my nephew's PC runs absolutely fine when set to 3200Mhz. So it confuses me as to why 1 would work but not the other. PC specs are as follows: Motherboard - Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite (supports up to 3200Mhz) CPU - Ryzen 5 3600 GPU - RTX 2060 6gb Primary - M.2 - Samsung 970 Evo plus 500gb Secondary - 500gb SSD for storage Latest update: While writing this I got my nephew (working pc) to check his RAM settings and timings. Here they are to compare. I've circled he differences: WORKING PC IMAGE 1 - https://i.imgur.com/MFKIILi.jpg IMAGE 2 - https://i.imgur.com/W5A5Vqz.jpg NOT WORKING PC (*please note image 1 here says "Memory Frequency(MHz) 3200MHz ---- 2133MHz" because we just made the change but did not press F10 to save it.)* IMAGE 1 - https://i.imgur.com/eVngSBf.jpg IMAGE 2 - https://i.imgur.com/wA4kiNx.jpg Please tell me your thoughts. What you think I should do to solve this issue? and whether or not I should change all timings and advanced timings etc in NOT WORKING PC to match WORKING PC ?

I'm a big fan of Corsair's Dominator RAM and bought my last set at MicroCenter. MC Doesn't carry 3600 Dominator, so looking at Corsair's site, I can either get 64 GB of CL 18 3600 for $600 or 64 GB of CL 16 3600 for $850. The only reason I'm looking to purchase new is that I use my computer as a workstation as well as for gaming, and the 32GB of CL16 3600 Dominator I'm running now gets up to 90%-95% usage under normal circumstances, so I want to jump to 64GB for headroom. I'm running: Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Formula MoBo, Zen 3 5900X, 32GB CL16 3600 Dominator RAM, ROG Strix 3090, TT 850W Gold+, and an ElGato 4K60 capture card. Is it worth the ridiculous price for the 64GB of CL16 or will the 64 GB of CL 18 do me just fine?

So I just want to know what sort of timings are can be had out of a Samsung B-die CL16-16-16-36 4X8GB kit at 3600Mhz. Not looking to increase the XMP per say, just perhaps tighten timings. What can I expect to get with this config?

Hi I just upgraded my PC (I guess at least) and bought an additional 16GB of 3200MHZ DDR4 RAM. Now I have 4x8GB of the same Vengeance LPX 3200MHZ Memory. It runs smoothly, cpu-z and the task manager show the 32gb. But it is running at the default 2166mhz frequency. I already tried to enable DOCP which didn't help. In the BIOS drop-down menu it says 3200mhz while only running on 2166mhz. I am not comfortable to set frequency, timings and voltage myself, I don't know too much about computers. Updated the BIOS, Chipset etc. Now CPU-Z shows the timings as 15-15-15-36 while I think the correct ones would be 16-18-18-36. But I have no clue on how to change that correctly. Specs: ASUS ROG STRX B450-F Gaming Ryzen 7 2700X 4 x 8GB Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200MHZ Can anyone help me out here?

As the title suggest, any help would do. But I've tried DRAM Calculator and it always fail to post. even changing one timing (CAS) from 18 to 16 causes a black screen. I know I can do it step by step but at least I would like some head start. The dimms I'm using is GSKILL TRIDENT Z NEO RGB 32GB DUAL 3600 CL18 F4-3600C18D-32GTZN https://www.gskill.com/specification/165/326/1562840525/F4-3600C18D-32GTZN-Specification It's a dual rank and hynix CJR/DJR die unfortunately. Rest of the specs: Ryzen 5 3600 (4.375 at 1.2v) Asus B550 Strix-F Gaming Wifi Included is the screenshot of Thaipoon the the DRAM Calculator result. Any help would be appreciated especially if you have the same exact die, can i have your settings?

Hello, I just have DDR4 3800 CL 13-14-14-29 and I'am thinking of exchanging it for DDR4 3800 CL 19-19-19-39 with RGB. Is there a difference in Framrate? (Ryzen 3700x)

Which one do you think will overclock better with a 3900x ? (mobo : b550 aorus elite) Apparently micron is better for ryzen 3000 end b550 mobo ?

Alright, I'm gonna admit that this might fit into the Laptop section, but I'm not curious about the laptop. I'm curios about the RAM. I saw they have some Ryzen machines running 4266MHz RAM and that perked my ears right up. So I decided to look for some Geekbench scores. In so doing I learned that the timings are absolutely stupid (and so is the measured bandwidth). But I couldn't see more than the primary timings that Geekbench reads. LPDDR4X 4266MHz with 40-39-45-90-135 (surprisingly 1T) From what I could find online I think that's running with 1.1V on the DRAM, but I couldn't find anyone actually talking about it online in any forums. Is there anyone here that perhaps has a machine and can tell me all the timings of the kit with something like ZenTimings? https://www.overclock.net/forum/13-amd-general/1740690-zentimings-3.html#post28555146 And just out of curiosity could you run HWiNFO and see if the DRAM voltage is reported in there? But what I really want to see are Aida benchmarks. Is there anyone out there that can help me out?

So I kinda tweaked the memory timings on my HTPC. But I didn't run an actual stress test. Instead, my kids pound the machine all day/night. Now my timings have been set up for a few days. And kind of experimenting here..... So what are your thoughts? The PC is used for Multi media, Gaming from light to heavy, and everything in between. Should I still run OCCT linpack for the heck of it? (No reports of unstable system yet) p.s. I'll get some screen shots of the memory set up soon.

DDR4-3060 CL14-17-17-39 works fine (maybe) DDR4-3060 CL15-17-17-39 always turn into 16-17-17-39?! DDR4-3060 CL17-17-17-39 always turn into 18-17-17-39?! Why does it refuse to input 15 and 17? Does it hate these numbers? :<

I was using changing DRAM timings in gigabyte aorus b550 elite bios in the tweaker tab and when I checked CPU-Z and Ryzen master my timings did not apply. I did have very aggressive timings so maybe it is not applying them because it is not able to boot. But in cpu-z and ryzen master the CAS Latency is 15 when the RAM default is 16. What is the issue? Thanks

My friend and I are trying to see who can squeeze as much performance out of their system as possible, ya know, as kids do these days. We started with manually tuning our RAM. We both have 16-19-19-39 3600MHz kits, but through our OCs we got different results, as you do (both of these were tested with MemTest86 with 0 errors). I got 16-18-17-18-36 (along with a bunch of other things I changed), while my friend SOMEHOW managed a tCL of 13, however most of his other numbers were worse with 13-19-17-19-39. I have come to the lords and ladies of things I don’t understand to ask which one of these is better (and why because yay learning). We are also on Ryzen if that helps because I know it likes good RAM. Thanks!

Hi guys, I'm tweaking my ram timings with the help of Ryzen DRAM Calculator. Everything seems good so far, plus 10 FPS on my most played game. I haven't tested for full stability using memtest86, I'll do it later. I'd like to know what to do with some settings in my BIOS that don't match the ones showed in the CALCULATOR. See the images below. I'm not sure what to do with tRFC because it shows as only "tRFC" in the calculator but I have more than one tRFC setting in my BIOS. Also RTT_NOM and RTT_PARK don't allow me to set RZQ/7(34), I can only disable the setting or set a value in ohms. What should I do? Help me out pls! Is there any step by step guide on how to use the calculator properly?
