Come on an adventure This is my first go at watercooling and I don't think I'm ever going back to using air! Here we have Bertha 2.0 (after getting bored with Bertha 1.0 of course). Composed of a modded prodigy with a shroud (obviously not an idea I saw watching SingularityComputers :P ), 520mm of radiator and some cable sleeving. More below. Cable Management in a Prodigy WITH tubes everywhere = worst thing ever. Must say, it wasn't a half bad job. I'm still going to have nightmares about it. Good thing I'm not posting a pic of behind the GPU! A bit more detail on the parts: Case parts: Bitfenix prodigy (Modded front panel) + shroud (installed by yours truly) + Modded Power button + Hole in the bottom (to fit a radiator) All this done with a trusty dremel. 2 Corsair SP120 fans for intake and 2 NB fans up top for exhaust (Notice how the rings are nice and green) Some Bitfenix presleeved extenders (Hate all you want, that took effort to manage in the back since these things gotta attach to the original cables) PC parts: CPU: 4770K Mobo: ASUS Z87I-Deluxe (took a lot of patience to get one of these) RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance (Couldn't find the vengeance pro GOLD) SSD: 128GB Samsung 840 PRO (wish I could get one of those evos) HDD: 750GB WD Caviar black GPU: EVGA GTX 780 (bow chicka wow wow) PSU: Corsair AX860 Watercooling parts: Resevoir: Swiftech micro res Pump+CPU Block: Swiftech Apogee drive II (Believe me, you need to save as much space as possible in there) GPU waterblock: EK titan something or other Radiator(s): 240MM and 280MM black ice stealth (520 in a prodigy WOOT WOOT :D ) Fittings: Monsoon free center compression fittings (gold to match the mobo of course) Tubing: Primochill advanced LRT Atomic UV green (I even used the included Sysprep, I'll keep this spot updated with any plasticizer issues I hope to not have) I also got 2 bitspower 90 degree fittings that I like to ignore Coolent: Primochill Ice intensified (UV Brite Green) More pics: The modding process in all its painful glory **respect for anyone who can guess where the SSD and HDD are** just noticed that the pictures don't exactly showcase it hah Sorry for the sloppy pictures :( silly iphone why won't you take good low light pics

Hello everyone, I'm considering sleeving my AX860 PSU and have already run into some problems before even buying the sleeving. My PSU seems to have lots of double wires, making it tricky but not impossible. My problem is that I only have two single 6+2 pin PICe cables, so I can only connect one graphics card through those. The other PCIe cables are double 6+2 pin cables, which look horrible when plugged because of the extra cable loop between them. I was wondering if it's possible to remove one of the 6+2 pins and convert it into a single one? Or is that too dangerous and just a stupid idea? - I know you can buy Corsair's own sleeved set, but I think that the white ones just look like white cables rather than being sleeved. It's also cheaper to just do it with paracord.

I am looking at supplies for doing some custom cables and in the process of doing so I have found some aftermarket connectors that are colored to match the sleeve, but they have wings that I think are unnecessary. I was wondering why are the wings there, are they for extensions. Also, who sells some good connectors that aren't black, don't have wings, and are not transparent. A lot to ask for, but I appreciate it.

Ok, I may be new at at sleeving but I am diving head first into it thanks to the help of everyone here and Overclocked.net with a special thanks to @lutro0customs and his great work he has done as well as @WildTurtle for being so willing to answer any questions I have had. I have gathered about a page of information regarding price per M, diameter, and bit more, but I am missing one thing. Do any of you know the diameter for MDPC sleeve? ALmost every other brand of sleeve is 4mm so I am assuming they may have simply conformed to MDPC. Any help would be great because this is important for matching brands together to make a set of cables match to your desired color palate.

Currently doing a build for my sister in a white Bitfenix Prodigy and wanting to use the leftover white corsair sleeved cables in a Silverstone 600W PSU is it possible to switch the connectors on the wires in order for them to fit and have them work? Has anyone done it before? Otherwise I have a short cable kit and the right tools, but sourcing sleeving in NZ at the moment is impossible, no-one is selling it, and the Lutro store in down due to them moving building. Also could I buy a 24 pin ATX Sleeved Extension and mod it to plug straight into the PSU? It would be just like a short cable kit. Anyone with experience in experimenting with this? Regards, Tim

Hey guys! Im kinda new to this forum, although ive been watching a lot of different stuff on here and there were tonns of intresting things to find Great forum! So well, being not too long here is a question - Im about to build a new system in a few days, and want to give it a good look, since im going to buy corsair 350d window.Ive got it all assembled in my head besides one crapy problem - Sleeved cables re impossible to find here in Russia. So Ive found some option from NL.I have friend living there,so he can send it to me. - http://www.alternate.nl/Corsair/Sleeved-DC-Cable-Kit-Type-3-(Gen-2)-CP-8920045-Adapter/html/product/1123418?tk=7&lk=9836 Its said down there that those cables re compitable with some Corsair PSU'S,but I was planning to get Seasonic fanless. Is this just a marketing trick and those cables will fit on my psu,or it wont work? Thanks in advance guys!

Hello Guys, this is gonna be a long one. So after posting my build (Obsidian 1.0) and being super proud of it, I looked at the Build Of The Week thread, that was a mistake. The pure awesomeness of those systems has driven me to do better myself, I doubt I'll ever get it as good as those guys, but damn I can try. The first things I decided to do was ditch my air cooler and colour-coordinate my system (Obsidian 1.1), but the real significant mod I want to do is cable sleeving (Obsidian 1.2). I've spent the last week researching the hell out of it and I'm finally convinced someone with no experience can do it. People with actual experience, I'm requesting you go over my preparation process to make sure it make's sense and that the numbers are correct. I've been asking some questions on LTT, but decided to start my own thread so I wouldn't be taking over anybody else's. From what I've learned it seems that Lutro0-Customs is the best sleever out there and his FAQ and youtube channel are my primary source for instruction. And most people say Million Dollar PC (MDPC-X) is the best sleeving material source there is, they are in Germany, so shipping won't be free, but it seems very reasonable and they provide lots of options and nobody has said anything bad about it's owner, Nils. However they are not the only choice, you can also get Paracord from Lutro-0 Customs, have Lutro-0 do it for you entirely (obviously expensive) or you can get extensions which are machined large-scale, so they'll be lesser quality and you'll have to deal with managing longer cables, but they're fast and simple. The best selection I've seen for extensions (in Canada) is Memory Express and I've heard a few people recommend BitFenix if you do go the pre-done extension route. You can see my Obsidian 1.0 specs and pictures here. My Obsidian 1.1 upgrade will be done this spring and consists of cooling and aesthetic upgrades: Replacing the quality but ugly Noctua NH-D14 with Swiftech H320 All-In-One liquid cooling Replacing the stock Swiftech Helix fans with Cougar Vortex fans Replacing the 750D's stock fans with Cougar Vortex fans Adding NZXT LED lighting (orange) My Obsidian 1.2 upgrade will be the sleeving upgrade, but requires more planning. Following Lutro-0's advice in his FAQ and some random guessing, here is the process I came up with, please make sure I'm doing this right. PSU: First I decided to replace my semi-modular PSU with a fully-modular PSU. I believe this will make the sleeving process much easier, though I have seen some people say working with a non-modular PSU is easier, but that it requires opening the casing, something I am not willing to do. Since I've has such good experience with Corsair, I decided to go with the AX-860. As an added bonus this will mean I can continue to keep the old PSU in my computer and have it functional during the actual sleeving, which will be a multi-day process. What method/sleeve do I use? I decided after watching all of Lutro0's guides to go with the MDPC (plastic) heatshrinkless method. This should deliver a real nice look with the added bonus of not having to line up all the heatshrink perfectly. I also considered paracord but it didn't have all of the options I wanted so I decided to go with MDPC. Colour Scheme: I've decided to with black as my main colour and orange as my accent. I hadn't originally planned on modding or colour-coordinating when I originally built the system, so I kind of have to work with what I have, namely black components. For the sleeving I've seen lots of looks and decided that I would make each cable 75% black with an orange stripe offset from the centre. The pattern i would use for the 24-pin: How much sleeving do I need? I used the PSU's datasheet to determine the length of the cables I intended to sleeve. I broke the sleeving into the three different categories as named by MDPC: Small Sleeve, for individual wires. The 24-Pin, EPS, PCI-E, Molex and Sata power cables. Black Orange Sata Data Sleeve. Black Orange USB Sleeve. For small wires such as the internal USB, front-panel and audio cables. Black Then I multiplied the number of each cable by the length of the cable by the number of wires I wanted black and the number I wanted orange like so: (Number of cables) x (length of cable in mm) x (number of black wires in cable) Example: 24 Pin connector = (1 cable) x (610 mm) x (18 black wires) = 10.98 meters of black sleeving I've added a 25% safety margin to each total, I'm hoping that is enough but if someone with experience would like to correct me, I would be thankful. I have also decided to buy heatshrink pre-cut, so I took the number of connections I had (120) and added a 75% safety margin on those for a total of at least 210. You'll also need some tools to complete all this. If you already have some of them then it will be cheaper for you, but this is what my price estimate came out to: And here is the actual cart from MDPC: Note that since I'm ordering from Canada I don't have to pay the 19% VAT (tax?) so the cost is lower than what is shown on their website by default as Nils details here. Shipping is also better then I thought it would be. Note that I have not placed the order yet as I'm waiting until summer to do this upgrade and I want to hear back from some pro's to make sure I'm doing it right. Thanks for reading that long-ass post and I welcome any advice or questions.

Hello ! I would like to mod my personal rig and I would like to begin with the cable of my modular psu. They are too long. Is it possible to make my homemade psu cable ? Or can I just make them look better with a custom sleeving ? Thank you.

HEY GANG! I made a little tutorial for my YouTube channel and thought maybe some of you fine people would find it helpful. Thanks for watching

Ohkay so I am looking into doing custom individual wire sleeving on my corsair rm1000 power supply. The included modular cables are actually a flat low profile cable for every cable but I assume I should be able to split them apart rather easily if not please tell me. My other question is color and where to buy I would like to do half uv reactive neon blue and half matte black or gray/white sleeving too match the rest of my build. If you guys have any suggestions for a different color or anything throw them at me. I also would like to sleeve my fans headers as well if possible but I do not know what gauge of sleeving would work best for that. I believe the length of my 24 pin connector is 610 mm (14,640 mm) and my 8 pin is 650 (5,200 mm)and my 4 pcie cables (6+2) is 750 mm (24,000 mm total length). So without doing my molex connectors that will be 43,840 mm which we can just round to about 50 meters so i'm thinking around 25 meters of one color and 25 of the other color or about 75 feet give or take of each. My next question is fastening should I only use heat shrink or should I also use the zip tie trick on top of the heat shrink also if there are any heat shrinks you can recommend (for color and quality) give me some suggestions hopefully. Also I would love to hear some of your experiences and even see some of the sleeving you all have done.

So I am about to start my first sleeving project soon (1-2 weeks) I have been watching all of Lutroo's videos and many other's videos on youtube over and over again to make sure to drill the procedure and method of sleeving in my head, and I feel pretty confident about it now. However I don't have any money to buy one of the ATX pin removal tools :c Mum gave me $600 for christmas which I used on my computer and buy some upgrades and I wouldn't want to ask her to give me some more for she would get mad ($600 is a lot of money ._.) So i was wondering what is the best way to remove the pins without having to use the tool? All help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advanced AUD stores only please

I'm in the process of upgrading my current PC and have seen a lot of people are doing custom sleeving. I was just wondering where I could learn to do this? Does Linus have a video? Newegg? And what type of sleeving is best? Just the plan rubber stuff you can get at any hardware store, or the nicer braided colors that really accent your build. This will be my third build. If you think sleeving is a little too advanced at this point let me know. Thanks Linus Community for all your help! Hope everyone had a great holiday!

Hi guys, I'm planning to make a build pretty soon (already have most of the parts) and the theme is going to be gold and black. I have an Asus Z87-A motherboard, and some gold vengeance RAM (not vengeance pro, the gold is darker on mine). I want to sleeve ALL my cables and i'm not sure what colors to go with. Here are some options I was thinking of: All gold All black (kinda simple/boring but very nice and clean) Gold and black (alternating) Black, gray, and gold (alternating, might have to make some changes for the 8-pin power) Any ideas or suggestions would help. I also would like any tips on coloring my fans and the IO brackets. Thanks in advance.

Hi, With the 24 pin cable, how would you fix the other end inside the PSU itself. I'm ok with sleeving the pin end, but i dont know the best way to secure the other end of the Paracord. My PSU is a Corsair CX600M. Thanks

Thanks- Here's my part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1LbFT Here are the extensions im talking about: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=Silverstone+extensions+&N=-1&isNodeId=1

BBR4 - Hackintosh By Tommy-b-10 So I only got into custom PC's at the start of 2013, and began this build around August. I started with the goal of building an all round computer that will last me for a few good years, whilst running both Windows and Mac OSX. The parts guide on the tonymacx86.com website were extremely handy in the planning. Parts Red is for unpurchased items Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H This board was the best board I could find that supported the OSX platform, and didnt cost a butt tonne CPU: Intel i7 3770k @4.5GHz and 1.13V May as well spend and extra $100 and get the i7 than the i5. Even though I probably wont be doing any heavy editing or rendering, its nice to know I still have the options. Graphics Card: Gigabyte GTX 770 4GB 4GB will be needed to drive 1440p well. Storage: 1x Samsung Evo 250GB SSD 2x Seagate 1TB HDD I'm using the SSD partitioned into 2x 125GB partitions for the OS's, one 1TB for storage and the other as a backup drive Ram: 16GB 1600MHz GSkill Matches the colour scheme, and I find myself using the full 8GB on my current PC Case: Fractal Design R4 Black with Window Loved the front of it, and the build quality is outstanding. PSU: Silverstone Strider Plus 600W Perfect size and is fully modular CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i I wanted to be able to OC my CPU, and figured why not. The LED on the middle is perfect with the colour scheme. Also using Noctua NF-F12's to cool the rad as the H100i stock ones were too loud. Fans: 4x Corsair SP120 Quiet Edition Using as 3 intake and one exhaust. Sleeving: MDPC-X Black and Aquamarine Blue Beautiful and Cheap. Nil's does a really good job! Mouse: Func MS-3 Ever since Linus's ad for this, i have really wanted it. I like to Palm my mouse, and I have relatively large hands. Keyboard: Apple Numeric Keyboard I know people hate membrane keyboards, but I love the one on my MacBook Pro, and I prefer the numeric keyboard version. Monitor: Asus PB278Q I just love the look of the monitor. Its 27" 2560x1440 and looks amazing. Whilst its expensive, its one of the cheaper 1440p ones out there. (excluding korean) Photos Excuse the photos. Most of them are taken on a shocking old point and shoot, and the rest are iphone quality The place I purchased the case from only had the non windowed version, so I picked up a window online for $50 Package from PCCaseGear. Accidentally ordered 2 Fan twin packs. Turns out I needed them though so alls good All of the boxes for the first order Amazing case! w/o window w/ window. So much nicer. Insides SP120's installed in the front. More Soon!

What is the point of replacing the connectors when sleeving rather than keeping the original power supply connectors? Thanks

Does anyone have a Antec TPQ 1200 psu? is it hard to sleeve them? because it looks hard.
