I need a decent photo and negative scanner with good resolution and features. I have a lot of old photos I need to scan and digitize. My budget is around 300$ but maybe a bit more. Also does anyone recommend a software to edit the photos later that is either free or pay once type??

tl;dr version: want scanner I can feed a multi-page, multi-sided document into and hit a fire-and-forget button and have it go automagically straight to Evernote, seems like someone has probably figured this out before me in 2018 Looking for a scanner for a paperless home. Have some notes (about ~800-1000 pages, afraid to count) from grad school and a bunch of paper files (about another 300-ish pages) that I want to digitize for archiving, after that just basic home use: personal documents and correspondence, receipts etc. Phone apps requiring manual shooting each page and cheap all-in-one printers aren't going to get the job done in reasonable time. Even looked into renting one, but at $150 for the cheapest 1-week rental I figure I might as well buy something. >Budget $100 to about ~$400 max. Less is better, but willing to pay for a quality long-term solution that gets this clutter out of my life >Requirements WiFi Automatic document feed with duplexing (auto double-sided) Scan direct to cloud services (Evernote) without a PC, phone, etc. intermediary having to be turned on. Via email is good enough as long as it's not slaved to a PC. Reliable scanning of pencil notes without manually setting contrast, exposure etc. >Would be nice, but not necessary Automatic OCR, but can leave that to Evernote or perform manually when needed Ethernet just in case >Previous devices Epson XP-434 all-in-one that did a handy one-touch standalone scan to cloud to Evernote, but only one single-sided page at a time HP 4652 all-in-one that's slow, requires a PC and too much manual interaction and babysitting for the initial high volume >Models Already Under consideration Fujitsu Scansnap ix500: nice, but EXPENSIVE for my needs @ $400+ (yikes!) and still requires link to PC Epson Workforce ES-500W, $329 and still requires PC No real preference between a standalone scanner and all-in-one printer as long as the all-in-one is up to the task

I have an old canon mg 2120 and was at ends when the full size photo paper the first time i tried it came out perforated all over the paper by the feed spikes. Now i see the upgrade the PIXMA MG3620, but watching the qvc demo the photo paper was so thin it curled, not sexy at all. Now if that is what i have to deal with i am out, because my caveat is i want a front loading printer. I did find the HP ENVY Photo 6255 and link https://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-envy-photo-6255-all-in-one-printer?jumpid=ma_2018-july-4-sale~printers~3~STO~K7G18A%23B1H~HP_ENVY_Photo_6255_All-in-One_Printer Is a front loading printer i am looking at. If you guys and gals can find me a better one at the price of around 80 smackers; my needs are: Low cost printing And Amazing scan quality with small file size Also front loading

fellow LTT forum members, I need HP LaserJet 3052 scanner drivers urgently. I have checked the interwebs but could only find the drivers for the printer. If anyone has that particular driver in their posession, sharing would be much appreciated. Thank you. PS: would asking for Windows 10 64bit be pushing it??

I want to set up my old Pixma MP250 as a standalone network scanner with a lightweight arch distro managing it. I have arch installed and configured saned, but I can't figure out how to get the scanner function to work. I've looked at scangearmp in the AUR repos, but it depends on some packages that are a) 32-bit, and b) orphaned. Is there any other way I can interface with this scanner short of ripping it apart and Frankensteining it? I've had this printer working before on Fedora, but that was 8 years ago. edit: To clarify, I don't want to print anything. This is going to be just a "scanner-only"

My Pixel 2 XL phone went from one charge with the scanner working to the next with it malfunctioning. When i would try to use the scanner i would get a message saying " fingerprint hardware not available." This is making me think the scanner isn't bricked since it can tell when my finger is against it but it won't actually read my fingerprint. I then tried deleting my fingerprint data and re-adding but it wont read my finger anymore. Is there any possible fix besides sending it in for repairs.

Before I begin, the main reason I'm asking is so I can scan QR codes so I can use the Authy Desktop Authenticator. I am well aware of the risks of doing this, and I'm willing to take my chances. So, can anyone recommend Desktop software that isn't tacky or cheesy or might install viruses? Does such software exist? I'm on Windows 10 Pro and I have a Microsoft LifeCam HD-3000 Camera.

I want to setup the fingerprint scanner on my Samsung Galaxy S7 for the phone itself, my bank's app & anything else I can. Ever since the day I got this phone though & saw someone else having theirs serviced because it wasn't recognizing their fingerprint, I've been too worried to try it. Is it really that bad or what? Is there a decent chance that some apps such as my bank's won't play well or is it more fool-proof than passwords? On Android Central, they said to grab 2 pics of my thumb going across the censor diagonally. Are they implying I slide it across or just press it down in that way? Also, will only that particular thumb & not any other finger of mine work to unlock the phone? Can a cut or callus inhibit the censors success rate?

Hey All, Doing a project for a uni and basically want to set up an rfid sticker on something that I've 3D printed so it will allow me to log into an iPad. Possibly something bluetooth so it looks professional with no cables. Any suggestions would be awesome. Cheers

Heyo! I work in IT for a company that basically hires new people every single week. We have to install a loadset and configure a computer for each new hire, and since there's a whole lot of things that needs to be done on each computer, this often takes up a lot of time. Basically, what I'm wondering is if it's possible to launch a .bat file automatically by scanning a barcode with a barcode scanner connected to the PC? Any information regarding this would be greatly appreciated!

So I was recently hired on at Walmart and being a techie I was intrigued by the bar code scanners (https://goo.gl/vzVLTc) I was able to determine that they are Symbol MC9060's just with Walmart branding. I was looking at buying one off eBay but was wondering if any one had experience with one of these or a variant of these. (MC9000, MC9090, etc)

Hello, guys. I'm a fresh here and need your help. I'm going to buy a document scanner for the 1st time in my life. Previously, I didn't need it at all, but now with a new job I use it often, even at home. After looking dozens of reviews, I have 3 models. 1) Canon imageFORMULA P-208II Scan-tini Personal Document Scanner. Is this battery-operated? 2) Canon imageFormula DR-C225 Document Scanner. Does it work with Google Chrome or Google cloud print? How does this compare with the Fujitsu ix500? Anyone own both? 3) Canon CanoScan LiDE220 Photo and Document Scanner. What is the differences between lide120 and lide220? How good is the included software? Do you need a third party software for picture editing? Thanks in advance! Any suggestions will be pretty appreciated!

Being a part-time online trader and a full time business man on the move, I have always been worried about losing my phone or my information falling into the wrong hands. Not only do I have to keep my information secure, but I also need access to my online trading accounts at a moment’s notice. While I have been pretty happy with the conventional security that a 4-digit pin code offers (some phones use lock patterns), there have been times where I lost a good opportunity to make a killing on the commodities market because I was unable to access my accounts fast enough due to the security lock and pin code. I recently read that a person unlocks his devices 110 times a day, I probably unlock my phone at least twice than the average. Recently, I saw a Le 1s advertisement on Flipkart and I learnt that it had fingerprint scanning technology and I saw this as an answer to my prayers. From the little I understand and some quick google reference, I found out that fingerprint identification technology in phones had the answers to all my security concerns. Since no two finger prints are same, the automated authentication biometric of Le 1s allows just its rightful owner to access the phone. Since identification is based on the fingerprint scanner, it also removes the need to remember a password there by providing an accurate and reliable way to unlock the phone. One interesting feature of Le 1s is that the sensor comes with a 6H hardness anti-scratch mirror that allows the finger print to be read without any issues. As I tried to unlock my phone, I found the sensor enables both flash recognition and identification accuracy immediately and effectively as promised and it eliminates the need for PIN codes or patterns to be memorised. Now with quick access to my online trading and banking accounts, I can truly say that I have all information at my fingertips.

I built my first desktop a few months ago, but after 4 years on my HP Laptop with an integrated fingerprint scanner I've become used to logging in that way. I've been looking for a good USB Scanner but haven't found much reliable recent information, If anyone could point me in the direction of some reputable brands or sources of information that would be much appreciated. I am running Windows 10 Pro if that matters. Thanks in advance

Here is my code public static void main(String[] args){ //execute the previously defined methods to calculate the quadratic equation. while (cont){ System.out.println("What is the A value?"); //Asking the user for the A value in their quadratic equation. Scanner Ascanner = new Scanner(System.in); //Created a new scanner variable for the A value boolean validInput = false; while(!validInput){ try { double a = Ascanner.nextInt(); //Storing the next integer of that scanner variable for an Integer of the A value.System.out.println("What is the B value?"); //Asking the user for the B value in their quadratic equation. validInput = true; } catch (InputMismatchException e) { System.out.println("That was not a number, please enter a numeric value"); } } double b = Ascanner.nextInt(); //Storing the next integer of that scanner variable for an Integer for the B value. System.out.println("What is the C value?"); //Asking the user for the C value in their quadratic equation. double c = Ascanner.nextInt(); //Storing the next integer of that scanner variable for an Integer of the C value. //Finding the radicand double tem1 = handleradicand(a,b,c); neaer the beginning you can see that I am trying to get an A value(this is a program for calculating the quadratic equation, I have methods and stuff before this, but this is all that's necessary for help). A scanner is then defined called Ascanner. This is where stuff gets confusing. Before I added this, everything was fine for the most part. If you ignore the while loop and the try catch stuff, the user would input an integer and it would get stored as a. But if the user input a letter or something else, it would crash, so i want to add something to handle that case, so that if the user inputs anything other than and integer, which would otherwise cause a runtime error, the program would prompt the user to try again, saying that was not a number, please enter a numeric value. What happens, is that when i set the double a to the next integer, it doesn't get returned from this method, so that when i call it in handleradicand, at the bottom, it is undefined. What should I do to either fix this, or maybe I should do something other than a try catch.

SO, I found out today that the college that I'm going to has a print limit of 50 pages per student, then 25 cents per page after. I like to print out everything, so i need a printer. It needs to have a scanner, and also needs to be wireless. Large ink cartage's are nice. I have no clue where to start, so say some examples you've had good luck with.

Hello friends, Curious to know if any of you have recommendations for printers which are easy for older people who are not tech savvy to use. There are a few main things I'm looking for in this, and I'm not sure where to start. - Easy to use menu interface: They primarily use it for word documents, both printing and scanning. Color is not necessary - Toner is preferable: I am called to replace their ink, despite showing them how to every time, so since toner will last longer that is preferable - Wireless: I'm going to be setting their machine up, so wireless will make it easier for them to be able to print from wherever they have their laptop, rather than being mad they can't print because they forgot to plug in a cable or something. Thanks for your suggestions!

Assignment: For example take this user input and set it up into individual Integers/Doubles: Type 2 level 5 Attack 80 Defense 60 Base 20 STAB 1 Critical 2.0 Random 0.9 Damage is 14 I have researched the Scanner class with no luck. I know I have to use .nextInt(); and so on but don't know how to actually format it. I can't seem to find any examples either. It would be great if somebody can pint me in the right direction.

Hey all, My friend has a Macbook Pro (Not sure what version of OS X, may not be the newest, but the laptop is only a few years old). Her ex boyfriend was taking programming courses, and became the target of some hackers after he did some stupid shit that I won't get into. He fears that my friend had been targeted too. Anyway, I'm passable with Mac OS X (I'm an IT tech, so I'm extremely proficient with Windows, and somewhat okay with Linux), but I have almost no experience with malware detection on Mac OS X. Can anyone suggest some good tools, and any specific methods for checking Mac OS X for malware? Looking specifically for any viruses, trojans, your generic malware infections, etc, but also anything that could indicate the system is compromised (like DNS infections). Will running a few various malware scanners be sufficient, or is there anything more in-depth I should look at? Also, please suggest your favourite (and effective) Mac OS X compatible malware scanners.
