Put everything together. Overclocked to 4.8 with 1.415vcore. Got it stable and played a few games for about an hour. Temps were good, not more than 85 celcius. I turned the system off and let it sit for a few hours. Tried to turn it back on and now it just hangs in post. with q-code 99 or q-code A2. I reseated my gpu, Removed my gpu and tried to boot on the integrated graphics. Tested both ram sticks Reseated all cables, and mobo connections. Tried different 1200watt psu Reseated CPU, other cooling paste. Tried booting outside of my case, on both integrated and external gpu, with each ram sticks seperatly And obviously cleared my CMOS multiple times. Im still stuck on the Q-code 99 (or A2 sometimes ) with signal to monitor. Any more ideas ?

Hiya guys. Yesterday, me and a friend of mine decided to take apart my PC, clean it and then replace the fans, and add an AIO Water cooler. After all this, we booted the PC up and windows launched. We monitored temps and we then did a fresh install of Windows. After the fresh install, the PC was booting fine. It would go through everything and I could access windows. However I left some residue files from one drive on my main drive which I wanted to get rid off so wanted to do another install. Before I did my 2nd fresh install (which I wanted to install on my NVME m.2 drive), I had overclocked my CPU to 4.0 GHz at 1.35 V and overclock my 2 RAM sticks which was originally 2667 MHz which I was able to get to 3200MHz which I was able to keep stable during a cinebench run. So after all this overclocking, I did another fresh install. But during this install I was getting the error code 0x8007025d, which was saying "Windows cannot install required files. Make sure that all files required are available and restart the installation. Error code 0x8007025d" The steps I have taken to try and fix this so far have been: 1. Download a new media key on my USB to try and get windows downloaded. 2. Remove all sata cables from my other drives and keep the m.2 as the only thing plugged in 3. Tried to access the repair my computer in the windows download bit but to no avail. I'm kinda out of options to decide as I cannot figure out for the life of my why this is doing this. If anyone can help me at all, or even tell me if a tech company can sort this out I don't mind paying either for a tech company to fix this I just can't figure out what to do. Thanks guys My specs: Ryzen 5 2600x 16Gb 2667 mhz Corsair lpx veagence. MSI b450 gaming plus motherboard Samsung 970 Evo 500gb Samsung 860 Evo 500gb Seagate Barracuda HDD 2tb Rx 580 GPU

Ryzen 3 2200G Hello, I am planning to create a build in the early 2019, and I have set a budget of RM2100, around $500 USD. I would like to build this PC, https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bp7HJ8 I have a few question around the Cryorig C7 and the MSI A320M Gaming Pro Mobo. First, about the cooler, PCPartPicker said I would need to buy a additional mounting kit for the A320M mobos, and if so, I would like to know how is the mounting kit and probably other alternatives to the Cryorig C7. Second, the MSI A320M, I have seen in some forums, such as Tom's Hardware, that the MSI mobos aren't very good and it would be better to choose mobos from ASRock or GIgabyte. If that's true, I would like to know which one is recommended. Third, I am building this PC to withstand the mining craze and wait for gpu prices to drop, and I would probably get a GTX 1060 3gb, or 6gb, I would like to know if there is any bottleneck and how much bottleneck there would be, if there is a substantial bottlenecking, what would be a better alternative? Last but not least, I would like to hear your budget builds for less than $500 in today's market. Thanks in advance, and I apologise for my English as it is my second language. EDIT: I almost forgot, is the MSI A320M Gaming Pro motherboard good for overclocking?

Hi, So, I want to buy a solid gaming laptop custom built. Hidevolution is selling silicon lottery's CPU but I can't go for the best one because of the thermals even with liquid metal. So, is this https://i.imgur.com/8FaShlz.png with liquid metal ok for the thermals. I may go with this final config https://i.imgur.com/nn4Q8rO.png. Any suggestion? I don't really have a budget issue since I've been saving for a while, I want the max performance with good thermals, I don't really know where the sweet spot is.

Hi all, My first ever post on this forum. So my new RTX 2080 Ti FE arrived today (finally after a 3-week delay). I removed my old card (GTX 980 Ti) and installed my new card. I reinstalled my graphics drivers to be certain they are correct. I ran some benchmarks and a game or two and I got no performance increase at all. My benchmark on Cinebench was basically the same as my 980 ti (maybe 1 fps more), my games had 0 fps improvement, one game even had an fps drop. Can ideas what could be going on? I have an Intel i7-4790K overclocked to 4.6ghz. My Nvidia control panel is set to 'prefer maximum performance' too. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Regards.

Alright so I got a deal from a friend on an i7 960 16GB of G.SKILL RipjawsX and an msi x58a-gd45 motherboard for $50. He got it new in 2011 and never overclocked on either the chip or the board. I’m planning to use this in a cheap gaming rig to sell locally but I wanted to see how it overclocks first. I got it up to 4.02 ghz without touching any voltages with the cpu multiplier at 175x23. I’ve been running cinebench r20, prime 95, Aida 64 and playing games on it all day and haven’t had any problems yet. The max temp I got on a hyper 212 evo is 85C with room temps around 30C. The voltage stays constant at 1.28v on the cpu core. From what I’ve heard most of these chips need around 1.38v to be stable. I’m pretty new to overclocking and never did it on a platform as old as this. I want to know, is this sustainable? Is it a good idea to sell it this way? I got a reasonable improvement in games and cinebench r20 scores went from 1062 to 1301. Any experience is greatly appreciated

about 5 years I built a PC and it's still able to do everything I want today without any problems. Is the 3930k overclocked at what I have gonna have any problems running the next gen NVIDIA cards at 1080p. 1440p, or 5760x1080p? But even beyond gaming, is it still a good workstation processor today? Cause if I upgrade I'm gonna have to buy a new mobo/ram along with the processor. If it matters I'm getting 1275 on novabench.

When I put my PC under a load, say the CPU Z benchmark or stress test, one of the the temp sensors reports temps over 90 C. Thats when I have it the CPU OC'd to 5 ghz (using Asus BOIS build in OC utility), at stock speeds its more like 70 under load. Can anyone identify what sensor it is? Hello, I have a Philips 60Hz IPS monitor, FHD, and I am thinking about overclocking. What I don't know though is if will revert to stock on another computer. Also would it void my warranty? I don't want to do it without knowing exactly what I am getting into. I have other components overclocked, I saw the guide on how to do it but I am still not sure if I should do it. Thank you.

I just got the meshify c by fractal and the coolermaster airmaker 8 for my i5 8600k (that i had a evo 212 temporarily on) and now I want to overclock. I used my motherboards recommended 5 ghz oc profile and I easily hit 84 c running PUBG for a couple of seconds. Specs: Meshify C (air cooling case) i5 8600k Asus Strix Gaming-H (x370) 16 gb ddr4 GTX 1080 Fan config: 2 infront intaking 1 exhausting in back 2 fans that are on the cooler itself (push and pull i assume) the cooler master logo isnt upside down so i assume its blowing the right way Thermal Paste: Noctua NT-H1 Thermal Compound Any help would be appreciated! P.S I'm new to this overclocking stuff hence why i used to profile on my motherboard edit: This might be useful. The fans I bought didn't have air flow direction indicators so I spun it and I felt air on one side and not the other. Both front fans' logos are facing inside and exhaust is facing outside.

Hi guys, I have just tested my new build. It is a Core i5 8600K with a Z370 Gaming Pro Carbon and a NZXT Kraken X62 AIO Cooler. The Core i5 8600K is overclocked at 5.0 ghz with a vcore of 1.35 v. I added some screenshots of my results with Cinebench and AIDA 64 Extreme(10 min test). Is this system overclocked at 5.0 ghz stable for the long run? I'm worried that the temperatures are a bit on the high side while I was running AIDA 64. Could someone give me some more advice? Thanks a lot

Do you guys think the Nvidia founders edition 1070ti is worth the extra 30 dollars over the overclocked Asus Geforcec GTX 1070? Im currently waiting for my 970 to sell, and once it does I will be either getting the Asus card from my local microcenter, or wait 3-7 business days for my 1070ti FE to come in. Im not sure what I should do. Will I see enough of a performance boost from the TI to wait 3-7 days without my rig, and be laptop bound, or should I just get the Asus card? I will be gaming currently on a 1080p 144 hz monitor, but am planning on a 1440P 144 hz monitor around christmas time. These are the cards in question Nvidia Founders edition - https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/products/10series/geforce-gtx-1070-ti/ Asus OC 1070 - http://www.microcenter.com/product/467995/GeForce_GTX_1070_Overclocked_Dual-Fan_8GB_GDDR5_Video_Card Thanks for any help!

Hi All, I'm getting some very sub par scores on Firestrike Extreme. To give you all speculation of my system, I'm running an i7-6700k (overclocked to 4.6 GHz with Kraken X61), Gigabyte G1 Gaming 980 ti (GPU clock = 1317/1406, Memory clock = 7160, Power Target 125%), with 16 Gb of RAM on the ASUS Z170 Sabertooth Mark 1. On Firestrike Extreme I'm getting scores around 4200, which when I compare online, it stacks below the minimum VR specs (i5-4690 and gtx 970) and the gaming laptop specs. Due to the specs of my computer, I have no clue why my scores are consistently so low. The details sheet shows that my GPU is at 100% load but it never goes over 38C, which I'm hypothesizing has something to do with it, no aftermarket cooler is THAT good. Anyway, I thank you all for your help! Thank you!!

so my AIO is finally starting to die and im glad as it is the worst one to move around as the tube is covered in a rigid mesh material and it is extremely hard to possition on my core x9 case when roof mounted. airflow is not a issue with my case and im working to make it far better . now im looking for a air cooler since they don't tend to die and u only ever have to replace fans and thermal paste. I want to buy fractal define r5 case for my new computer, which has i7 6800k with noctua nh-d14 cooler and also gtx 1070 (probably gigabyte or evga air cooled). If I put 2 fans in the front of the case, 1 in the back exhause. Will it overheat if I overclock the cpu and gpu ? to me the silent is very important. but I still want to overclock as well. so would you recommend if I put more fans in it or better ones or juts get a different case with better airflow? Also I dont know if the window version of r5 is a lot more loader, I'd like window since my motherboard is asus x99 strix with leds on it but silent is more important to me than looks. water cooling is no option btw

Hi Everyone. This is my first build log. I put "watered" in the title, as that'll be my description for water cooled pc components. As for this build that'll be the GPU, cpu, and motherboard that will be water cooled. I have an EVGA GTX 960 SSC 4gb. From what I read, I would have to run Doom (2016) on medium-low settings to maintain 60 fps. I am getting 75 fps pretty solid, with lows around 60 and highs of 90+ as seen in the screen shots I posted. I don't have my GPU-Z statistics on hand, but I know I have my core clocks at 1564mhz completely stable, I forget what I have the memory clocks at. Basically, this card is beast mode, out performing the average gtx 970. Why do so many people hate the 960 again?
