Ok, so I cannot find the answer to this question, or at least one that fits my setup. I have 2 GPU's, not running in SLI. The 970 is running only my gaming monitor, and an old GT 520 running my secondary monitor, which I usually use for random things like netflix, youtube, twitchTV, system monitoring software, etc. Is there ANY way to prevent the secondary monitor from blacking out when playing a game in fullscreen mode on a different monitor? Sometimes I can usually alt+tab in and out until it behaves normally, sometimes it just freezes the image of whatever was on the screen, but nothing moves (like when I am running system monitoring software, Asus GPU monitor, task manager, HWmonitor, etc.) I would think this should be doable, especially when I have a completely separate graphics card running the second monitor, the fact that it sometimes forces that monitor to black out, kinda pisses me off. Is there any setting within windows, or Nvidia Control Center that will allow me to make the screen not black out? I have looked and looked and looked and I can't find anything other than "multi-monitor compatibility mode" which does absolutely nothing as far as I can tell. Why in the hell would anyone force this kind of thing? I have more than 1 monitor for a freaking reason. Edit: Specifically I am trying to run Metro LL with asus GPU monitor up, but it just blacks out the screen and has no option for windowed or borderless mode.

i'm wondering what kind of horsepower it will take to run 7680x1440 surround + 1 more monitor @ 1920x1200 for info while playing. is one 980 going to cut it at low/medium settings, without aa or is it not going to work at all?

So i am considering getting an ultra-wide monitor the thing is i always run at the minimum three displays as i do a fair bit of video editing as well as i dabble in 3d modeling (i need the extra displays for tutorials when doing 3d lol ). Here is my dilemma though i like the overall height and aesthetic of each monitor to match, so does anyone know of an ultra-wide with standard aspect counterparts that look relatively the same and will match up to the border of the ultra-wide. If any one can link me to a picture of a set up like this i would really appreciate it.

I have been using a single monitor for about a year now and it is excellent. The problem is that the single 1080p monitor just doesn't cut it anymore in terms of productivity and spending 600 dollars on 2 more of the same monitor would be too expensive. I have been looking for small displays to put beside my main vg248qe in portrait. It is not a standard setup, but I think it would be the best for my usage. By small, I mean between 15 - 21 inches diagonal. I don't care too much for resolution. I am mainly concerned about the price, I want to spend no more than 130 CAD per panel. I will not game on them, productivity only on the secondary monitors. I don't need 100% sRGB or anything crazy like that either. It is necessary to have the full range of rotation, as I want to run them in portrait on either side of my main display. TLDR: I need a small cheap panel (below 130 CAD) and I don't care about any specs like resolution (though more is better) and things like color accuracy are bottom priority. IPS would be nice but on the tight budget it is unrealistic.

Anyone have a video card recommendation that might meet the following requirements. Must be 1 slot wide Can power at least the first 3 displays below preferably all 4. 1) 1280x1024 via DVI 2) 1280x1024 via DVI 3) 1920x1200 via DVI or HDMI 4) 1920x1080 via HDMI A now cheap older card would be preferable it doesn't need much horse power it will never see 3D rendering / gaming. Should be capable of running 1080p video though but I'm sure pretty much anything should do that. If you're wondering why. I have a pair of R9 280's in crossfire and want to dedicate them to ONLY running my primary monitor and to off load the rest of it to a secondary (err tertiary) card and I need it to fit on the last PCI-E slot at the bottom of the board. I'm looking for something AMD preferably so I dont have to try to run nvidia drivers at the same time as AMD I've tried in the past and it never worked as well as it should... but maybe thats improved by now. Thanks! -B

**Sorry, i wasn't sure where to post a full system build, i figured this was the best place** Hi guys, This is a bit of a theoretical build at the moment, as I don't actually have the money for it, nor am I living in the place I would use it... I'm planning on moving house sometime mid next year, and I want to have a nice HTPC under the TV. I also do a lot of work from home that requires multiple monitors, so I figured I could work out of the same room and kill two birds with one stone with this build. Focus of the build: - To drive a large 1080p TV - Drive an additional 3 monitors (likely 1080p) for desktop use - SILENCE Here's a list of parts that I would need to buy. Monitors, TV, speakers etc. aren't included on here as I can use some existing stuff for that. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/kMvYCJ CPU: Intel Core i3-4360 3.7GHz Dual-Core Processor (£106.98 @ Aria PC) CPU Cooler: Corsair H80i GT 70.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler (£76.98 @ Amazon UK) Motherboard: Asus Z97M-PLUS Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (£95.80 @ Amazon UK) Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (£39.99 @ Amazon UK) Storage: Crucial MX100 128GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (£55.78 @ Misco UK) Storage: Western Digital Green 4TB 3.5" 5900RPM Internal Hard Drive (£101.94 @ Aria PC) Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 960 2GB SuperSC ACX 2.0+ Video Card (£162.98 @ Amazon UK) Case: Fractal Design Node 605 HTPC Case (£105.12 @ Aria PC) Power Supply: EVGA 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply (£87.28 @ Amazon UK) Optical Drive: LG BT30N Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Writer (£58.77 @ PC World Business) Total: £891.62 I'm not willing to change the case. I think that Fractal Node 605 would look really nice and stylish under a TV in a living room. PSU is likely overkill, but I'm already using one in a different build and I like it (especially the ECO mode to turn off the fan). I was originally thinking to make a Hackintosh, because I like the Mac Operating System, (not to say that I don't like Windows or Linux, but I'm more comfortable on Mac for day to day stuff). It still seems to come out quite pricey though... Which makes me a little undecided on whether I should stick with a Hackintosh, or maybe move to an AMD Windows/Linux build instead... But like I said, this is theoretical at the moment, so I don't exactly have a budget in mind. Obviously the cheaper (and quieter) the better, but certainly not over £1k. I'd appreciate your thoughts please edit: copied pcpartpicker into post

Hello! So I've run into an issue that I've been researching for, and can't seem to find a solution that works. I've recently acquired an AMD Radeon R9 270x. Even more recently, I've acquired an Acer H236HL which I'd like to have as my 3rd monitor. So here is my setup as a whole: Monitors: Acer H236HLHDMI // DVI // VGA Acer X223WDVI // VGA Samsung TV (model escapes me, it was a hand-me-down)HDMI GPU: HDMI // DVI x2 // DisplayPort I understand that I need DisplayPort for the Eyefinity...thing (or an Active DP adapter). But I don't want that, neither does my setup allow for it (my TV sits lower than the 2 monitors). Is it at all possible to have 3 monitors? I've read on a few forums that its possible with DVI/DVI/HDMI. Just not for me. I've tried this, this, and almost every combination imaginable. Help me, internet. You're my only hope.

So I've set up 3 Asus 24" VG248Qe 144hz screens. I have enabled SLI and Surround. I got World of warcraft to work proper with no difficulties what so ever on ultra settings nice fps nice gameplay all that nice stuff. But The problem now is Battlefield 4. I have set the resolution to 5760*1080 and the loadscreen goes on the middle screen while the other two are dark, but when I get in the game I cant use my mouse or keyboard, it's stuck in the menu and I can't do anything. Is there anyone that knows of this problem and could help? I have 2 GTX Titan cards.

Alright, this has only begun a few days ago and I was wondering if there was any way to fix it So, i'm running windows 8.1 and after "a" recent patch, whenever i'm trying to switch monitor, there is a 2-5 second delay where the mouse will slide in the "in-between" space by that I mean that it's where I would leave my mouse pointer if I wanted to access the windows 8 sidebar thingy. It used to have a .5 sec MAX delay if I moved the pointer slowly and none if I moved it quickly but now I NEED to move the pointer super fast for it not to be stopped while switching monitors. So, if you have any clue on how I could reduce/disable the delay, please tell me.

I am thinking of investing in a G-Sync Monitor, I found a 24" 144Hz one for a pretty reasonable price. What i would like to do is use the G-Sync monitor for my main Display, and my current LG 60Hz display as an auxiliary display. Is this possible? Cheers

I have 2 monitors set up to my computer but for some reason the bios shows up on my second screen, is there a way to change that?

Hey everyone! I am about to buy a new monitor. At first I was planning to go for 4k, but after further research I decided against it because of the UI scaling problems. I think it would drive me nuts if I intend to use it in an dual monitor setup with one 4k and one 1080p display. This is the monitor I want to buy: LG 34UM95-P I saw this on LTT Channel (YouTube) and I think it's really great. I used to game on an eyefinity setup with three 1080p 27" screens (current setup) and one auxiliary display for browsing, voip and chatting. The decision to go back to one monitor is because I got too lazy fiddling around with settings and changing configuration files just to get it to work as I want it to. And also too lazy to switch between eyefinity mode and desktop mode all the time. And lastly because of the bezels. In the future I plan to play strategy games and mmo's on this display and for example sims or other games like Star Citizen and Elite:Dangerous through the Oculus Rift once it's consumer version is released. Since I'm really used to having multi monitors I don't want to completely fall back to a single monitor. That's why I came up with the following idea. TLDR: What I basically look for are 2 monitors that do have the exact same height as the LG 34UM95-P (37.98cm / 14,95 in) and do have a similar look, same or close bezels (1,27 cm / 0.50 in) and should have VESA holes on the back. And they also should have an horizontal (vertical if taken from the picture above) resolution close to 1440 pixels to have no "virtual" borders and therefore have free mouse movement. It would be really nice if someone could help me find 2 monitors that are matching the criteria above. I already searched the web, but it's really hard to compare since most of the shops do not have detailed seize information. What do you think about my idea? Are there "better" solutions for my multitasking / multimonitor needs or should I try what I mentioned above? Thanks! Cheers, Tronnic.

I know you guys don't think it is worth it but it has been on my bucket list for ever and I can't afford a 1440p monitor so I might take the plunge and get a third. Could I have your pros and cons about gaming or productivity? Here are mine: Pros Cons More space for activities! Expensive for old news Can finally get a monitor for skype and Games might not support triple steam so I don't have to keep using alt tab Get that eyefinity experience I have always dreamed about Might give me an edge for games with a map (eg: CIV) Looks badass Feel totally immersed Be able to use my peripheral vision

Hey Guys, I'm looking into setting up a wall of screens, 8 to be exact, and I have a question concerning the AMD FirePro 2450 GPU (http://tinyurl.com/k9rloq3). I was wondering since I want to drive 8 displays, would not being able to crossfire them be an issue? Could I just run two in a single pc each driving four screens? Thanks, your help as always is much appreciated.

Im doing a school project where I need to put up to 8 or more monitors on one computer. I need to show off artwork that people in my school have made. My problem is that I don't want to spend so much money for 3 or more graphics cards. I've seen businesses use just one computer to power up to five monitors without needing a really big computer. If anyone knows a piece of hardware that is capable of this i'd really appreciate it.

Hi there eveyone I've been having this problems for a while now but now its really bugging me I'm trying to do a 3 monitor setup on Windows 8.1 I'm currently running a AMD 7950 GPU and just keep getting this message saying "The display settings could not be saved. Please try a different combination of display settings. So i've been trying to get this working with my Capture Card too and still had the same problem but now its with an actual monitor and I haven't got a clue why I can't have a 3 monitor setup. Thanks Peeps

CPU: AMD FX-6300 Motherboard: ASRock 970 EXTREME4 Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 3.5" Video Card: Asus Radeon HD 7850 2GB Video Card I have a 2 monitor setup with one monitor hooked up via DVI and the other a tv hooked up with hdmi. When I try to play games, like Civ 5 and New Vegas, the mouse goes into the tv, making it impossible to play. How can this be fixed? I have looked it up but many of the posts are from 2010 and have links to 3rd party software. These solutions are hardly elegant and it seems like this should be a non issue, as non of my multi monitor friends have it. Thanks!

Hi everyone, I'd like to see some nice videoguide by Linus about multiple monitor configuration, and also a focus on Viewport, what is, how to set it and so on.. maybe a Teckquickie would do the job. for example explaining how to choose the monitors based on the bezel size, resolution and aspect ratio. what angle they should be eachothers. what is a viewport and how to set them by different kind of games/application. how to remove the space between bezel using the GPU software and so on... there aren't much guide online and one made by linus would be really awesome! also nowadays computer monitor are becoming cheap and affordable by most people who want to have an additional screen to work with it ( https://i.imgur.com/ePksqpE.jpg ) an example of the difference between two triple monitor setup
