What GPU is good with a Ryzen 5 3600X? Got a GTX 1070, don't have the Ryzen 5 3600X at the moment but want to know what a good GPU is to go with the CPU.

Hey guys, Quick story I just builded a brand new system for around 600 €, all the parts are brandnew except the GPU. It´s a 1070 Zotac mini from ebay for like 150 € but the seller told me one of the fan (the left one) spins at full speed, I thought for myself this would be a Software problem or something that i could easily solve with MSI Afterburner. Oh boy how could i be wrong. It´s like a jetengine. On gpu-z and Afterburner the RPM sensors tell me 0 rpm but the fan still spins at full speed. Even manually putting a fan profil in msi, it don't change anything. I searched everywhere and didn't find anything that help. Things I've done: -DDU and fresh install of gpu drivers -fresh install of windows + update -renew the themal paste -cleaned the gpu (was so filthy that the pcb where something was written was black) Things I will do (planned) -using a vga to 4pin pwm to see if the sensor in the fans is the problem -perhabs using a different PSU Toughts -Bios on the gpu? -Bios on motherboard (there are two new versions, but the installed is from 2019/11/27) -if there is the sensors in the fan problem I will renew them System: Thanks in advance. Sorry for the bad english. Geetz Tiago GPU-Z

Hey there I'll try to keep this question short, I'm planning to upgrade my PC however I'm conflicted into two paths, and I don't know which to choose I've got an old case with usb 2.0 ports which I kind off want to replace at some point The game I'm looking forward to play is Cyberpunk 2077 and I'd like to have a smooth experience at 1080p 75hz with high-medium settings, I finished RDR2 with my current build but I had to search through websites and reddit forums so I could have a decent experience while also making the game look acceptable even though the game was optimized poorly but you get the point. Also I want to get into VR at some point later in the future and try out Half Life Alyx and Boneworks I've found a 1070 at ebay at around 210€ (plus shipping) which seems like a decent deal to me and an upgrade from my 970 However I also thought about building a new PC from scratch while keeping my GPU and PSU, I know that the newest Ryzen CPU's will launch in a few days but sadly it's off my budget right now and while budget GPU's (1660, 1660super and ti) right now don't impress me either, I think the used 1070 is a good deal but I might be wrong for now many games still require the i7-3770 as their recommended CPU with some exceptions (for example I see the 4790k used a lot) Thank you in advance! New Parts i'm looking for: CPU:AMD Ryzen 5 2600X Mobo:Gigabyte Aorus B450 M RAM:16GB RAM Case:Aerocool Cylon Black and a random M.2 NVME drive (all around they cost like 350€) PC Parts I have: CPU: I7-3770 (non k) GPU:GTX 970 RAM:8GB mobo:asus p8h61-m lx3 plus r2.0 PSU:Corsair VS550 (not the best psu around, but it's good for now however I'm thinking of replacing it) Storage: 2 HDD's 1 boot SSD Budget (including currency): 440€ Country: Greece Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Cyberpunk 2077, VR, slight editing on the side with Premiere/Vegas as a hobby and some photoshop

#1 I've had this laptop for over 3 years now. It's an Omen 17 laptop with a GTX 1070 and a i7 6700HQ. I used to play COD:MW at 100 fps, almost everything on Ultra at 1080p. I went to play today and I almost couldn't reach 40 with everything on low at 720p... The temperatures are fine, nothing's changed about this laptop. Did the GPU just fry itself? I did try to play Mafia 1 Remake on it and had the same result. It's not using any onboard graphics cards as my laptop doesn't have one (as far as I know). Is it just dead?

So right now I am currently running a ryzen 5 3600 and a GTX 1070 for 1080p 144hz. My dad plays at 1440p however and is planning to upgrade from his gtx 1070 soon. He told me he would give me that card, so heres my question: can I SLI two GTX 1070's from different brands? (One being MSI and the other being Gigabyte) Thanks for reading!

Hi all, I am in the market for a new GPU. (The unit does not have to be new) One big thing about my PC setup is the fact that it is white and grey themed, so I want a white and grey GPU. I found the older GTX 1060 DUAL and 1070 DUAL from ASUS and they look great. However, on Newegg, Amazon, Microcenter, Best buy, ect. all of the units are hundreds of dollars over MSRP and I don't feel like spending $750 on a GTX 1060. I found multiple used and new ASUS DUAL GTX 1060 6GB on ebay for reasonable prices. I also found some VERY reasonable used GTX 1070's (around $100-$200) Some of my friends have had not good experience with art supplies and some other things on ebay (none with PC parts). I know to look at the sellers reviews and the product reviews and I feel confident that I could find a good seller with a good deal. I just want to make sure that i'm not gonna spend around $200 and get nothing. If someone has had good experiences that would be very helpful (Also which one should I get? GTX 1060 6GB or GTX 1070, bother ASUS DUAL models) Thanks for all the help!!!

My question has to do with the EVGA GTX 1070/1080 VRM problem of way back in 2016. For those who were affected, did you need to replace other PC components after the VRM got burnt? I was affected and indeed my Graphics card died. My RMA replacement part is about to arrive and I wanted to know if there is anything I need to do in preparation for its arrival so that I dont have to deal with my Graphics card dying again. Should I replace my mobo or psu? Has somebody experienced the death of another PC part that was due to the death of a graphics card? My PC is running fine at the moment.

troublshoot multiple games having insane framedrops/freezes
jimboza1 posted a topic in Graphics Cards
as title states, first noticed this when i was in COD Warzone, but didnt think much of it, since its a demanding game and i have it on everything high 1080p. then this started happening in LoL and apex legends, both games i have had no issue bringing to over 100 fps and being stable as hell. IDK if the problems are specified as frame drops, but it's basically all games freezing for a couple of seconds and being back to normal after said seconds. ive used this GPU for about 2 years now, this is the first time i have issues with it. i5 8600k, OC to 4.7ghz, (has been insanely stable for over 6 months now, problems started happened a few days ago)(about 2 years old) GTX 1070, non OC (abo0ut 1 year old) (451.67 , latest as of date of post) SRock Z370 A-PRO (never had issue with it, about 2 years old) 16gb 3000mhz ram (about 2 years old) Warzone and Ãpex are on HDD's and LoL is on a SATA SSD quite an aggressive fan curve on both CPU and GPU, both never go above 75C all games started having issues around the same time, when being able to play them perfectly last week. any help would be much appreciated, this is getting hella annoying and makes some games unplayable. thank you, jimboza1 -
I have a Gigabyte PB500 80+ Bronze PSU. I'm planning to buy a MSI Gaming X GTX 1070 from my friend. Will it work this PSU?

So my friend is having some issues while playing VR, while the Index is on and running there is artifacting that randomly shows up on either monitor and lots of stuttering in games (this doesn't happen while playing games not in VR). I know a 1070 isn't very powerful especially for the index but even a game like beat saber has awful stuttering issues (and the performance counter this shows frametimes never even get close to the 8.3ms of the 120Hz, they sit way above this, somewhere in the 15ms range.) This combined with the stuttering makes it almost unplayable. Tried re-installing graphics and Index/SteamVR drivers and the Index works flawlessly on my laptop (2070+9750h) even in 144Hz mode.) Any other ideas?

Hi, I recently acquired an Acer Predator (G9-793-76YT) Laptop with a GTX 1070 (and an I7 7700HQ). I did some benchmarks to compare against my Lenovo Desktop Y710, which also has a GTX 1070 (I5 6400). These benchmarks, I think, are not going to impacted by the CPU (in this case). The laptop came out on top in both benchmarks. This is odd since I would have thought the desktop GTX 1070 would beat the laptop. Benchmarks... Superposition (1080p extreme) - Laptop = 3387 Desktop = 3244 Unigine Heaven Benchmark 4.0- Laptop = 2151 Desktop = 2096 Is this normal? Shouldn't a desktop GTX 1070 peform better than that of a GTX 1070 in a laptop?

Hi Guys, Im building a PC soon and dont know whether to buy the gtx 1070 or the RX 580 8GB. Specifically its between the Asus ROG STRIX Gtx 1070 https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-Strix-GeForce-GDDR5-Graphics/dp/B01HMDRY7E/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=ROG+STRIX+1070&qid=1594743492&sr=8-1 vs or the Asus ROG STRIX Rx 580 8gb Overclocked edition or the Sapphire Nitro+ rx 580 (which of these two rx 580's would be better for performance and thermals) https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-ROG-STRIX-RX580-8GB-GAMING-Graphics-Radeon-GDDR5/dp/B071CP4MPX/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=asus+rog+strix+580&qid=1594743607&sr=8-2 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-Radeon-Special-2xHDMI-Graphics/dp/B073F1286D Do not worry I am not paying amazon prices - £150 for the RX 580 8GB ASUS/ similar price or lower for the sapphire card or £180 for the gtx 1070. I have a 1080p display and want nice 60fps on high. Has the rx 580 drivers make it much better now?
-
Hi guys, I'm building a system soon and wonder which card is better (both are the Asus rog strix 3 fan design). I want to know which one is better and if the difference is significant. I've heard that AMD driver updates made the rx 580 perform much better than before? I really don't care if I have nvidia or AMD card in my system. All I care about is performance, value and thermals etc. Take care, Pete.

Greetings, recently i have purchased a Asus strix GTX 1070 OC edition from eBay and it should be arriving either tomorrow or the day after. while i am waiting for it to arrive i would like to get everything i can ready to minimize setup time. my questions are as follows: 1. do i have to use Asus aura sync to control the RGB lighting? 2. is any special/Asus only software required for the external fan control function? 3. are both HDMI ports available for monitor functionality or is one of them dedicated to only VR headsets? 4. can i monitor the GPU wattage use of this card with MSI Afterburner? 5. what are the most common known problems with this model of card? 6. can the built in NVENC encoder on the GPU be used to render videos in adobe premiere to H.265 ? please only respond if you have experience with this card or the questions i am asking about. thank you for reading and i look forward to some informed responses.

Hello everyone, First time posting here on the LTT forum. Quick overview of my system: My specs are: Intel Core i7-6700K (4.2GHz Base clock oc) CPU Cooler Master Hyper TX3 EVO CPU Cooler Gigabyte GTX 1070 G1 Gaming GPU 2x 8GB HyperX Fury DDR4 2600Mhz RAM Asus Z170-K motherboard Corsair VS650 PSU Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD WD Blue 7200RPM 1TB HDD Corsair Carbide Spec-Alpha Tower The build is about 4 years old. Software: Running Windows 10 Education I Believe the Nvidia Geforce drivers were 445.87 but im not 100% sure. The situation: The PC was shut off all day and in the evening I decide to do a little bit of gaming. So I was playing Mount&Blade: Bannerlord for about 15 minutes on one screen and youtube on my 2nd, and suddenly both screens froze but the audio continued for about 10 seconds. Then everything froze, even the indicator lights on my keyboard didn't respond (e.g. capslock, numlock). The only option left was to force quit the pc by holding the power button and restarting it. The restart took longer than normally and once on the login screen there were all kinds of black and white squares accross the screen. They were all the same size in case you were wondering. I've never came accross anything like this. After logging in, the displays go black after 5 - 10 seconds and stay black. Photo and video for clarification: (https://imgur.com/a/Quy7oEh) (https://media.giphy.com/media/PmFMgTiZP4ercmxkew/giphy.gif) Things I tried: I restarted it twice, but both times with the same result. I've pulled out the video card and booted it up on the Intel HD Graphics and that ran without a problem and without the black and white squares. Things I haven't tried: Opening the GPU to check for "any bulging capacitors, brown bits, or what look like fly specks." since I don't have any spare cooling paste to replace it once I've opened it up (and scared to destroy it further). Putting it into a different system since I don't have any other system. Cleaning the system since I don't have a compressor on hand (will probably have this weekend). Things I investigated: I've looked the issue up online and it doesn't seem to be artifacts. No Blue Screens, so can't investigate any dump. It couldn't really have been too hot since I was just 15 minutes in and I believe I have decent airflow (2 air inhale at the front and 1 exhale + PSU fan exhale in the back). It was quite dusty inside the case, but the GPU was the least dusty of them all. (still maybe too much?) TLDR; I'm fairly sure it has something to do with my GPU, since the black and white squares are randomly appearing all over the screen and are absent when I pulled the GPU out and booted on the Intel HD Graphics. I don't know if it is hardware or software related. Anyone has suggestions or know what this issue is? Many thanks in advance!

Correct me if this thread belongs in psu, but i plan to upgrade from a p106 to p104-100 sli. i noticed the p104 is slightly faster than a 1070 so i went with the 8gb version. i leave my cpu fan and 2 case fans at max speed all the time. and my 8086k maxes at 65degrees on all cores. the p106 is really quiot slow fan speed usually maxing out at 53-ish degrees. the main concern is the psu. is 750 watts enough for the p104 sli? ita a corsair 2019 rm750 gold. my cpu is not overclocked the board just enabled the boost so can go to 4.3 ghz. @1.3 volts according to bios. im on linux, and currently use the adaptive clock so i do not know if its concidered a gpu overclock.

I have a strange artifact appearing randomly. You can see it in the link https://youtu.be/riWQYnLuVQ8. At the moment I know the following about it: -it appears randomly also on desktop -it is triggered by nier automata, sometimes in full screen, sometimes windowed -it only happens when the image on screen is rendered by my gtx 1070, not when it is by the integrated intel hd530 -it disappear if I disable the 1070 from device manager -It is present with all the nvidia drivers I tried -whithout drivers installed it does not appear -usually restarting fixes it -if I use win+ctrl+shift+b it sometimes disappear and others not -It is present with both the original vbios and the updated vbios -it does not change if I use a different cable, hdmi port or monitor. Please help me understand it is driving me crazy.
