I'm currently going through a warranty request for my Fractal Design PSU that has a broken component. The Rep has asked me to intensionaly shove metal into the 24pin output on the PSU. Tech-tubers are always saying how much charge the capacitors store in a PSU even after being left powered off, so is this request safe or am I risking a big shock by doing this?

Reviews came out today, didn't even know this was a thing until then. North XL — Fractal Design (fractal-design.com) Its effectively a longer FD North, which isn't necessary, but for some people it might. Makes the case long enough to support a top 360mm radiator. The rest of it seems to be the same spec wise, front radiator support being a little better somehow. The FD North supports eATX perfectly fine without interfering with the cable management gromits, having at least 30.5cm of support (I run an X670e Aorus Master in a FD North). Noting the 4 (TG) total 120mm fan mount support listed is wrong, its 6 since there's three front, two top, and 1 rear.

I can't really pay that much what else can i do? does anybody had or having the same issue?!. and my main question is: can i get similar one not from fractal? and if so which brand or what can fir in those cases? ty whoever answer highly appreciate it. https://a.co/d/1TCsBO3

Hello, I have searched for several hours for the best budget case under 150$. I am between the Pure Base 500FX and the Meshify 2 Compact. I know that Pure Base case has an RGB controller and the other doesn't. There is also a RGB version of Meshify 2 Compact but it is much more expensive. I like RGB but for me RGB is not a priority to choose a pc case. I choose the 500 FX over the 500 DX since the price difference is only $25. What is important to me is the build quality, the airflow, the temperatures and the noise (less priority than others 3). Which of the two cases do you think is better?

Hi all, The full size Torrent case seemingly is only available to order with RGB in black, why on earth is this? It seems like it's a choice of the colour you want, or RGB, but not both. I cannot see the logic in shipping one colour of the case in RGB fans installed, and not others? Are they likely to release it down the line in grey/white with the RGB fans, or should I just look at other options? Thanks, Kagan

Hey y’all, I’m starting my first build after a long time, and I was planning on putting Fractal Design’s Lumen AIO in the build. The issue is: I don’t know where I should place the rad in terms of getting the longest life out of the pump, which happens to be in the rad. (This, I think, tosses out the tips from GN and Jayz on AIO placement) If anyone has experience with using AIOs where the pump is in the radiator, please let me know what your ideal placement is.

Hi guys, I'm looking for a mid-tower case for ATX board that will fit my requirements, so far I've found those 2, what do you guys think of them, and could you suggest me other cases that could fit my needs? Also something to note, I currently have a build in a Fractal Design Define R5, so I kinda want to completly change model not just upgrade to the new version of the same case. The needs : I want a full front IO with at least 3 usb type-A and 1 usb type-c and Separated audio jack for mic and headphone. (I guess I could live with 2 usb type-a (usb 3.0), but i'll need to buy a usb hub) I'm building with an i9 12900k and planning on buying a cooler soon, the artic liquid freezer II 280mm, good choice? And this is paired with an RTX 3080 gigabyte gaming oc I want a side window (tempered glass ideally), good cable management possibility and obviously good airflow. The PC is for video editing and gaming. Thanks guys!

My 14 year old corsair 620hx PSU mysteriously died 3 days ago after serving me well and now I am looking for PSU for my 5950x based PC. The current GPU is Quadro P400 (3 displays is good for work) but I may want to add a powerful GPU later (maybe up to 3080 for gaming or learning video editing) so what should be a good PSU for this setup? https://pcpartpicker.com/user/kunalvaidya/saved/#view=z9b6D3 my current config is with P400, but i want to have scope to upgrade to a powerful GPU for gaming and video rendering in future. and i have heard 50-60% of max PSU capacity is a good place to be in. https://outervision.com/b/9aVjCY says 750 should be enough. maybe 850w will give some headroom. Fractal design ION+ platinum 860 or ION gold 850 or corsair RM850x are current contenders depending on pricing and availability in Bangalore India. (I don't think the fractal design ion gold is available in India, have not seen any seller with its link) Fractal response and mindset regarding the recent Torrent case fan controller issue make me like them even more (I have Meshify 2 PC case) and I trust them to do the right thing in case of any issues in components or service claims. and using same logic avoiding Gigabyte for any future purchase decision after looking at their attitude towards their exploding PSUs. u/PCBuilderJason recommended the PSU list below and Both FD platinum and Corsair RMx are tier A https://linustechtips.com/topic/1116640-psu-tier-list/ Also, will 760 platinum be enough capacity to get now. Maybe in the future GPU power draw will reduce or maybe I might not update the GPU itself as I havn't gamed in many years and videos can also be rendered by kdenlive using CPU so maybe i can live with quadro p400 for few years.

Hey, I recently bought a 3 pack of Fractal Design Aspect 12 RGB PWM, but my motherboard (MSI X470 Gaming Plus Max) does not have these RGB 3 pin connectors needed to actually control the lighting. Can anyone suggest a not too expensive controller (software support)? Fractal support wasn’t helpful at all, as they were just suggesting their R1, which doesn’t support software control.

Hi, I have bought Fractal Design Prisma fans (set of 3). I want to Mount 2 in front and one in back (for CPU I use beQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4). I think I connect back fan to CPU Led Header. But where can I connect 2 front ones. I think 5pin RGBW Header is the way but how can I make it work? Thanks in advance for advice.

Hello everybody, I've recently cleaned my Meshify C and I noticed some stains on the top filter. Some stains were there already some time ago but I've never touched it, and recently it has sorta increased (the number of stains). Can't seem to know the cause. Here is a photo of the problem:

Budget (including currency): 65 000 CZK (2 891,50 USD) Country: Czech republic Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: All the newest games (I do not plan to stream or, edit videos etc., just gaming) Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I do not have a PC so I will be buying everything new. Peripherals not needed. I have to play games on my MacBook Pro (please help). I ideally want to play at 1440p 144Hz refresh rate. I am planning to buy Samsung Odyssey G7 32". Also this will be super overkill build as I understand it as a hobby not that I need the cheapest best build for gaming. I will be doing overclocking on this machine. Just want to play with it, see how much I can do. I am aiming for "as fast as possible" PC. I already thought of my build so I need a conformation and some good advice as well. It is sad that in Czech republic are all the components much much more expensive then in US (but I get it). So the budget is really just there but it is flexible. Also I can wait! I do not need to buy the rig right now. So if I should wait with any of the components, let me know. Here is my dream build: MOBO: MSI MAG X570 Tomahawk WiFi I do not really need WiFi but it is available only with Wifi, I want PCIe 4.gen (graphics card), NVMe 4.gen (system NVMe), NVMe 3.gen (as a cache for HDD), AM4 socket, 4 DIMMs DDR4. I will be doing overclocking. Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 3700x or AMD Ryzen 9 3900x or AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT I am leaning towards 3700x as the performance is not as different as a price between 3700x and the other ones. But I am not sure. Also I do not know if I should wait until 4000 series announcement. Maybe something from 4000 will be better at performance then 3000 series? Graphics card: Nvidia 3070 or 3080 or new unreleased Radeons I have to wait with this one. Until then I will use friends old Radeon graphics. RAM: G.Skill Trident Z Neo DIMM 16 GB DDR4-3600 Kit [F4-3600C16D-16GTZN] I wanted RAM with CL14 but it is not available anywhere so CL16 it is instead. I am just wondering if the Ryzen 3000 series (or 4000) will be able to handle 4 DIMMs of 3600Mhz CL16 memory (total of 32GB)? If not I can always clock it down System NVMe: Seagate FireCuda 520 500GB SSD Cache NVMe: SAMSUNG 970 EVO Plus 500GB HDD: Seagate Ironwolf Pro 4T NAS (already bought) AIO: Fractal Design Celsius+ S36 Prisma need that RGB for faster PC (or to nicely light up my case) Fans: Noctua NF-A14 PWM chromax black swap 4 or 5 of them Case: Fractal Design Meshify S2 TG Black (already bought) PSU: Corsair HX850 or Corsair HX1000i I am not sure what will be enough power The estimate in Czech republic is around 67 000 CZK (2 980,47 USD)

I've been playing with a couple different airflow setups but I'm not sure route I want to go. Currently have the AIO fans in a push out the front (won't fit in the top as the RAM is not low profile), a rear exhaust, and an intake in the bottom which blows straight up at the GPU. Thermals seem to do decently in this config but I've noticed under heavy sustained loads, the front panel gets quite warm with the AIO radiator exhaust blowing straight at it. Was considering changing that to an intake instead, though that would largely hide the LEDs and/or show the uglier back side of the fans. What are your thoughts? I'm open to ideas, very curious to see what you think may be better.

Hi guys just wondering if any one of you have a msi gtx 1080ti gaming x or a 290mm long GPU paired with a kraken x62 aio cooler in a Fractal Design Meshify C case. If better yet with a kraken g12 gpu bracket as well. I would like to know if there will be dimension conflict. thx

So given the current situation my GPU arrived but my PSU is severely delayed, I'm just wondering if the included PSU in the node 202 is enough to run a Ryzen 5 1600 and GTX 1070 Ti with no overclocks on either? I've checked on pcpartpicker for the power estimate which should apparently leave me with a 120W overhead, but apparently it's a 80+ bronze PSU and nvidia recommend a 500W PSU. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks

Hi guys. Planning an ITX system for my next build. The Fractal Era got lots of hate and poor reviews for thermals, especially GPU thermals. However all the reviews I've seen were using open air GPUs, which would then begin to cook in their own exhaust. (80+°c) I was thinking, maybe a blower style card preform better? Thoughts? (Or maybe suggest another SFF case that can support a 240mm rad?)

It's my second build and the cable management is not so great, I know. I'm also holding up the AIO cpu cooler with a pair of screws on one side and a couple of zip ties since it barely fits. So, I figured I'd add another to the ranks of the PC Master Race. My daughter is turning in the next week, and has enjoyed playing Minecraft on my PC, so I decided to mark the occasion by collecting parts and modding a case for her. After her birthday we'll assemble it together. I figured I'd add a little build log for her machine too, seeing as I finally watercooled my own a little while back and I was getting anxious to start another mini project. I'll provide a link below to the PCpartpicker parts list, though I'll warn you much of it is hand-me-down parts, and it's not designed for earth-shattering performance. Just something for homework / 1080p gaming. I already tore down most of the case, as you can tell... this paint job is going to be a tad bright... OK, its borederline obnoxious. She's going to love it. I also snagged a Razer Blackwidow Ultimate (2013) off Kijiji for super cheap, the font was going to be a bit much for a first grader to read, so I swapped the keycaps for my factory Corsair ones off my K70. I also happened to have an eVGA Torq X10 kicking around that I won off an online giveaway like 4 years ago. It should fit the bill!

Please read before replying with "Just hold the stand-off and then unscrew the screw from the other side". I can't do that. I bought a Fractal Design R6 and a Gigabyte motherboard, I had to remove one of the stand-offs that came pre-installed with the case because maybe some of you know Gigabyte puts one of their holes in the wrong place. Anyway, I removed it and put it back where it should be and installed the motherboard. Thing is then I wanted to take the motherboard out to be 110% sure that I there weren't any other stand-offs hitting the board. I checked before like 5 times, but I'm paranoid and wanted to check again. I'm sure there aren't any stand-offs hitting it, but again I'm paranoid. Thing is when I tried to take the motherboard out, one of the screws unscrewed the stand-off. Not the one I installed, but the one on the left side, the one where the PCI slots are. I tried to unscrew it but it kept making noises, like a pop, so I stopped. I tried to take the motherboard out, but it's stuck. So I assume the screw is stuck in the stand off while the stand off is stuck in the case. I can't psychically reach the stand off to hold it in place so I can unscrew it. How do I remove it? How can I take the motherboard out without damaging it? Do I just have to unscrew the screw which will force the stand-off to unscrew itself and then be careful while pulling the motherboard?

Hey, so i'm a new builder and I would like to ask if the SilentiumPC Spartan 3 Pro would fit in the Fractal Design Core 1000, btw I have a Ryzen 5 2400g, and will be putting an RX 570 8gb soon. I will be overclocking the cpu.
