  8. The [insert Name here] Build Log | Work In Progress and yes, that is the name(i think) Basicly my current specs are the following: Bitfenix Shinobi XL ASRock Fatal1ty H87 Performance Intel Xeon E3-1230V3 G.Skill RipjawsX 1600/CL7 MSI GTX 760 Sandisk Extreme II 120gb Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 It looks like this and i admit, its damn ugly lol Because i hate the looks of it, i plan on rebuilding the system until summer. Here are my potential Upgrades (They are most likely to change) The Case is most likely to change, since its just too big for what i need it to do. Im thinking of going the mATX route, since im going to a few lan partys later this summer. Not mITX since you cant SLI with it and i am really thinking of adding a second 760. The cases im considering are: -The Xigmatek Aquila mATX Case German Link: http://www.amazon.de/Xigmatek-Aquila-Micro-ATX-Geh%C3%A4use-Fenster/dp/B00GU2TJHM/ref=sr_1_23?ie=UTF8&qid=1396979233&sr=8-23&keywords=mini+atx+window+geh%C3%A4use UK Link: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Xigmatek-Aquila-Micro-ATX-Geh%C3%A4use-Fenster/dp/B00GU2TJHM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1396986037&sr=8-2&keywords=Xigmatek+aquila+matx US Link: (Can't find it anywhere on amazon.com, will add Link if i see it on there) -The Bitfenix Prodigy M German Link: http://www.amazon.de/BitFenix-Prodigy-Tower-Mini-ITX-BFC-PRM-300-KKXSK-RP/dp/B00EKS9BQM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396986259&sr=8-1&keywords=Bitfenix+Prodigy+m UK Link: http://www.amazon.co.uk/BitFenix-Prodigy-schwarz-ohne-Netzteil/dp/B00EKS9BQM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396986291&sr=8-1&keywords=bitfenix+prodigy+m US Link: http://www.amazon.com/BitFenix-Mini-ITX-Without-Midnight-BFC-PRO-300-KKXSK-RP/dp/B008RJQ0LE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396986315&sr=8-1&keywords=bitfenix+prodigy Considering my current Motherboard is an ATX one, i will need to buy a new motherboard. For the choice of Motherboards, i havent got really that many. Its basicly come down to one which is the: -Gigabyte GA-Z87MX-D3H German Link: http://www.amazon.de/Gigabyte-GA-Z87MX-D3H-Mainboard-micro-ATX-Speicher/dp/B00D5F4XC8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396979434&sr=8-1&keywords=Gigabyte++GA-Z87MX-D3H UK Link: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gigabyte-Z87MX-D3H-Motherboard-4thGeneration-Processors/dp/B00D5F4XC8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396986464&sr=8-1&keywords=Gigabyte+GA-z87mx-d3h US Link: http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-1150-mATX-Motherboard-GA-Z87MX-D3H/dp/B00CU4L4XG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396986503&sr=8-1&keywords=Gigabyte+ga-z87mx-d3h This is the only Motherboard that really fits my needs, its SLI compatible, Z87 Chipset (I know i cant overclock the Xeon, i kind of trust the Z87 Chipset more than the other ones though) and has a really nice looking matt-black PCB. CPU Coolers i`ve thought of upgrading to: I know the Xeon doesnt get hot, i really like the looks of a closed Loop watercooler though, that would be important in the case of the Xigmatek Aquila since it has a Window and thats the case im liking more ATM. The Cooler(s) im considering: -The Corsair H100i German Link: http://www.amazon.de/Corsair-Extreme-Performance-Wasserk%C3%BChler-CW-9060009-WW/dp/B009ZN2NH6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396986768&sr=8-1&keywords=Corsair+H100i UK Link: US Link: http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Series-Extreme-Performance-Liquid/dp/B009ZN2NH6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396986805&sr=8-1&keywords=Corsair+h100i The Corsair H80i (Links comming soon, too much work at my tablet though) In recent Months, im working more and more with Photo and Video Editing. 10. So I have this friend who is my best friend since grade 3, he wants to start getting into PC gaming with me. I thinking about building him a $800 PC $850 MAX, it MUST! include windows. The GPU (and CPU) must be good enough to handle arma 3, csgo, borderlands, warframe, and a bit of minecraft (honestly any will run it aha). It will be nice if had an SSD but I will be willing to give it up for better GPU/CPU horsepower. I do not think he will be doing OC anytime soon.
  11. So I want to build a gaming pc and with amd's kaveri processor is it a great idea if i get an amd build or do I go for the casual i7 or an i5?
  12. I'm trying to stay within a $500 budget(for computer) for a built-in desk computer. Is this a reasonable build? Look in PcPartpicker link below. Feel free to rebuild using PCPartpicker. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/bYbHdC. Sorry for the wrong link. I'm half asleep Derp.
  13. I'm a huge fan of Micro ATX builds. I've planned a kick ass Micro ATX build. The parts I'm using for the build are: CPU: i7-4790K. Not getting a skylake, I don't want to buy new RAM, Motherboard: Gigabite Z97MX Gaming 5, (Already Have) RAM: G-Skill 4x4Gb 1866 MHz, (Already Have) GPUs: x2 Asus R9 Nanos, PSU: EVGA 650GQ, (Already Have) Case: FD Arc Mini R2, (Already Have) Drives: x2 WD Green 3Tb HDDs, x2 Samsung 850 Evo 120Gb SSDs in RAID, (Already Have) Cooling: EK Predator 360, (Already Have, but need GPU blocks) I plan to get some sort of 1440p freesync monitor, but I'm not sure what I'm going to get. I'm going to run my system in it's current config until I get at least 1 Nano and a water block to go with it. My current config is: CPU: Used i5-4690K, Motherboard: Used ASRock Z97M Pro4, RAM is the same, GPU: R9 290, PSU is the same, Some old HP case from 2005, Drives are the same, Everything is air cooled. When I finish my upgrade, I'm going to use my i5 and 290 for a folding computer. I plan to update the build log when I get the i7, a Nano, and watercooling parts in a few months.
  14. The Gamechanger, my PC build is finally coming. The goal is to make a 'no comprimise, no holding back' gaming rig. The build idea is simple. Make something overkill, but something to fall back on. I have just recieved my first part today, the case, and I'm recycling a old drive on my old pc. Next, I set my PC Case on the desk, opening it up. More to come soon!

  17. My new build "Devils Reject". It was my dream to own a high end gaming machine and since I have my own startup company and a part time job, its now possible. I know that the original Titans aren't as great for the price and there's a new titan on the market but this build isn't about getting the most for my money or to try and out perform everyone. All I wanted was to own a titan, have an intel i7 processor, more than 8gb of ram, and two Graphics Cards in sli. So this build will be achieving those criteria. Once this build is completed I'm going to move one of the titans to my Console pc (More about that later) and the other is going to go into my girlfriends build. The gpu I'm going to replace those would be two titan x's. Here are some pictures of the build so far. (Part list are in my signature) This one is a picture of my old pc and my new one
  18. Hey Guys, I'm new here. Actually, I'm thinking to build a wooden PC case. Can anyone please let me know the pros and cons of a wooden PC case.
  19. Alright guys I have another one for you guys. I currently have the following build https://pcpartpicker.com/list/BJXByf. It works perfectly fine however I am looking to put together a build that will blow anything I throw at it out of the water. So things to preface this with is I want to stay around the 8000 USD for everything excluding the desk. I am wanting to rock a triple monitor set up (resolution is not that big of a factor my current build has 2560x1440). I am wanting SLI 1080's (Non founders card because I hate the look). I am wanting the colors to be black and yellow (just because its a bit different). So any and all help would be greatly appreciated as I want something crazy but have a good price per dollar. Thank you Again here is the PC Part Picker https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rTdY2R
  20. I've always wanted to build a computer into a desk. My initial plans were much more grand in scale and included a custom water loop. However, that wasn't as easy to upgrade or maintain when built into a desk. From start to finish the project took me about three months of work mostly done on the weekends. The parts of the computer itself are as follows: MOBO - ASUS X370 Prime Pro CPU - Ryzen 1700x RAM - 32GB G-Skill Trident 2400 Mhz CL 15 GPU - EVGA nVidia GTX 980ti PSU - Seasonic - 850W Platinum OS Drive - 512GB Samsung 960 Pro CPU Cooler - NZXT X72 GPU Cooler - NZXT X61 w/ G12 Case - A heaily used NZXT H440 purchased from eBay was harmed in the making this computer desk. I'll do my best to keep this to a mostly computer related affair, but since my computer is inside of a desk, I had to build the desk. I'll start with the basic frame. I should point out that the frame can be taken apart easily (eight total parts) and moved, a requirement since I wouldn't have been able to get it in my door otherwise. Also note the 'rails' that are inside of the frame. This is how I suspend everything. More on that later. This is what it looks like with the top on it . Everyone of course wants to show off their computer, so I had to cut a hole and then route out an indent. I probably measured this more times than I feel comfortable admitting. I custom ordered a tempered glass panel that fits flush in the cutout. So how does all of this fit together? Kind of like this. The cabinet piece is completely separate and is more of a shell that sits around the computer and stands on its own. The computer sits in a bracket that is suspended by the rails built into the frame. The modular approach was important to me so I could move this large creation if I ever needed to. Most of what's left at this point is to build the computer into the desk. I'll spare you the finishing details of the desk and skip onto the good stuff. The computer was something I mostly already had, but it was time add some additional cooling power. I used my existing NZXT x61 to cool my 980ti and the new x72 to cool my Ryzen 1700x. Bother are overpowered for what they cool but I'm fine with that since I might want to upgrade to power hungry parts in the future (Zen 2). I mounted the radiators to the bracket that holds the computer. Then dropped the computer in and hooked everything up! All of the heat is dealt with outside of the case. The GPU and CPU both run at ambient temperature as long as they're not under sustained load. This is it powered on for the first time in its new home. The jankiest part of the whole build is the 'front' panel IO that's actually underneath the desk. This is the only place I could find to put it. It has two USB 3.0 ports, one USB C port, 3.5mm in/out, and an HDMI port. This makes it very easy to use my VR headset. The power and reset buttons are vandal switches, with the halo LED being the power switch/light and the smaller circle LED being the reset/hd button/light. Since these are under my desk, I don't ever see them, which is nice because they're kind of bright. This is all finished. I added two drawers below the computer for storage. I'm happy to answer any questions. Thanks for taking a look.
  21. Hello my friends! What i will be doing with this Dream build: I'am currently motivated to start YouTube channel and do some amateur editing at the start. I plan on going 1080p 144hz monitor, because it will last longer period of time and also cheaper..... I know that 1440p is amazing, but lets say for example i max every game at stable 60fps with it for 1year with 1080p i will be able to do it for 3 years. Also i will be using this computer for everyday usage and at all that's what i wanted to say hope i didn't forgot to mention anything else, if i did feel free to ask whatever you want. I have to decide in few days what to buy in few days, also i have some questions: - Will they also give me cables with the modular PSU's i picked ? - Here in Bulgaria in random computer shop they told me to not to go for WD HDD because of some errors they can cause or make, they advice me to choose something else. Is that true ? I pay alot of attention to this post, please dont just ignore this... share your opinion it means alot to me and i really appreciate it! Thank you in advance, best of luck!
  22. Mineral oil + passive cooling = ??? The purpose of ths build is to show off what passive cooling is capable off when you have recources to to wild. Like my last two passive cooled build, this one is also thoughtfully desiged and is able to runn in an environnement up to 30°C including stress tests. This time the setup allows a TDP of 1100 watts! This is achived by using six amssive heat sinks that form an enclosure. As only flat sides are mounted together it can be seald with welding or a screw and glue combination. So it can be filled up with mineral oil to cool the VRMs, chipset and RAM as well. All main heat sources are still directly coupled to the heat sinks and do not rely on the mineral oil. Thats why I should get away without additional fans circulating the oil. Also the build can be run without the mineral oil for test purpose as long it is not stressed for unreasonable time. As the possible performance is extremly high, so is the price. Also this build was designed on my passive PC so I do not actually need a new one. There I created a blueprint for you, if you have robbed a bank and some money to spend. The whole interior will be filled up with oil. CPU cooling: 8x 8mm heat pipes GPU cooling: Directly mounted to the heat sink with a copper block. This works fine with my GTX 980. Top view: I will explein now why I these choosed the parts here: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/ Of course you can modify the list to your needs and save some money. MoBo: Asus Z9PE-D8 WS I went with a dual CPU workstation MoBo. Sadly the models aviable are limitteded, because the RAM slots must be in 90° ange the the PCIe slots. Otherwise they will block the CPU heat pipes. So I choosed the Asus one with the LGA2011 socket. Maybe there will be feasable LGA2001-V3 board soon, so you can pick up better CPUs. CPU: 2x Xeon E5-2637 V2 3.5GHz If you find a better LGA2011 CPU you can afford go for it, but there ones are a good point to start. RAM: Kingston 32GB (4 x 8GB) As much of ECC registered memory as you like. GPU: 3x XFX Radeon R9 Nano This was, as in most build, a difficult decision. The GPU must match these conditions: - No dedicated SLI/CF bridge because the cards are to distant (R.I.P Nvidia) - <600 watts for all GPUs - Single slot IO, so you don't have to use a 40mm think (!) copper block to surpass the second slot. With one slot the copper block is already heavy. - 3x200 watts are much better than 2x300 watts because of the power density - Good scaling (obviously) The AMD Fury Nano meets all this conditions. Also the coolng capacity of the heat sinks is conservative calculated, the actual performance should be better. The Fury allows to rise the power target and scales good with the power allowed since it's held back a bit by the standart TDP. Also the Fury lineup shows very good CF scaling in general. The CAD models of the GPU are not the Nanos. I just cut my GTX980 in half to create the model and save time. I don't have acurate drawings jet, so it's silly to spend a lot of time on the model. PSU: SeaSonic 1200W 80+ Platinum Good quallity and efficient. Due to the oil cooling the fan should hardly spinn up at all. And even if it does the sound should be dampened by the oil because it is at the bottom of the case. Main drive: Samsung 850 Pro NVMe Should be aviable soon and seems better to me than the Intel 750. Second dive: Samsung 850 Evo Don't dare to use a HDD If you are interested I can provide the blue print of the system to you (when you don't use it to generate profit with it). Also I know suppliers for the heat sinks used as well as for custom bent heat pipes. So what do you think of my little dream project? EDIT: For these interested here is the proove of the concept: 250 watts: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/342534-finished-full-passive-powerful-workstation-gaming-rig-who-said-it-cant-be-done/ 500 watts: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/351134-finished-the-silent-cube-pushing-passive-cooling-to-the-limit-with-dual-gtx-980-update-17-pictures/

I have seen x times whit people that build gaming PC’s and I think the build locks like its easy done, but im very unsure about the bios settings and all that. I planning to game 4K games at high/ultra high settings. Whit the Asus 27" LED G-Sync ROG SWIFT PG278Q So if you know about a good video that shows all that bios settings i will be happy if you link it. Another question, I have a bad computer from before whit 64 bit Windows 10 home on it, can I that just take that hhd from the old case to the new one? And that it will starts like normal? Another question because im a noob, do you think the ram will fit whit the gigantic CPU cooler? Also I planing to over clock so maybe I need a better CPU cooler, i happy for tips .
