Hey guys not too long ago I posted for help with trying to get my sli to work with my gpu's and I have finally found a way to do it. Its by using coolbits. You have probably heard of it but if not today I am going to show how to use it! *Note: you don't need cool the coolbit software in order to sli with different ram! Lets get started! 1. First of all make sure all your hardware is compatible for sli. I'm obviously talking about your motherboard, PSU, etc. also make sure that you have the same gpu (ex. 760 with 760, 770 with 770 etc.) 2. Next, go ahead and plug in your gpu and your sli bridge. 3. Once that is done jump over to NVIDIA's website where you can the latest drivers. http://www.geforce.com/drivers I used the scan method because I found it to be the best way to find the drivers I need without accidentally installing wrong ones. Also be sure to do a clean install, this can be performed by clicking the custom method and checking the box. 4. Once the drivers are installed go ahead and give your pc a good restart. This is where things get a bit tricky. 5. First start "run" by pressing the windows key+r or simply look it up in the search bar. 6. Once that is performed type in "regedit" without quotes. Then press "yes". 7. If you see tons of folders, that means you're at the right place. Find HKEY_LOCALMACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NVTweak\ By using the drop down arrows. Left click on the "NVTweak" folder. http://puu.sh/l1upB/5b9f7e0b66.png 8. Next, right click in any of the blank space, hover over new then click "DWORD (32-bit) Value" 9. For the name, name it "Coolbits" then press enter. 10. Next, right click on it and then click on modify. For the value type in "18" with no quotes. 11. Press "OK" and restart your computer. When your computer boots go ahead and jump into the nvidia control panel. 12. If you see the option under "3D Settings" that says "Configure SLI, Surround, PhysX" then you're in a good position! If you don't leave a reply and me as well as the Linus community will try to help. 13. Go ahead and jump into the "Configure SLI..." tab and tick the circle that says "Maximize 3D performance" 14. Next go into the "Manage 3D settings" tab. Under the "Global Settings" tab scroll down and find "SLI rendering mode" press the arrow down, and click on "Force alternate frame rendering 2" This step is optional! 15. Next restart your computer again and you should have sli working! Guys please don't go out and purchase 2 separate cards intentionally. This is probably not the most reliable thing to do but it worked for my current situation and I have no idea how with will work for other cards. I have 2 gtx 760's by gigabyte. One a 2gb model and one 4gb model. I hope this really helped!

Say one live in country A, is it worth it to buy from country B online if it is cheaper? Specifically, I live in Spain, currently in need of a new PSU (Specifically the 850W G2). I saw on amazon uk that there's a G2 that costs £99.99. With shipping it would cost £112.05 (€159.39). The same G2 would cost €194.26 if I buy from amazon spain. Saving me €34.87! (EU stuff are overpriced, so this helps) So I'm wondering, is there any downside if I buy from another country? Is the warranty any different? If I have a problem, it's the same, contact the seller/amazon (but uk) right? Or is there something I wouldn't be eligible to? All response are appreciated thanks!

Samsung? Sony? Whats the difference? At least that is what Samsung wants to assure customers after it was made known that the S6/Edge come to party with two different sensors. One from Sony, one from Samsung. Some people had phones with both sensors from different companies, others with phones with sensors from the same company. Samsung assures everyone that the QC is stringent and that differences between the two sensors is negligible at best, I just have to wonder why they'd double dip so much in the first place. I can understand if Sony or Samsung were having yield issues that prevented such massive orders, to me it seems like they did even more work to coordinate two different sensors to pump out the same shots. But there it is. A "the more you know" moment. Don't think people could've actually told the difference had no one bothered to look, which in all fairness goes to show Samsung did a good job in quality control for both sensors http://www.theverge.com/2015/5/6/8558739/samsung-galaxy-s6-sony-camera-sensor

So I want to have different output for different things that im running for example: I want CSGO to play on my headphones, Spotify on my Speakers. Is there an app or some way to do that? i have both speakers plugged on my back I/O and headphones plugged in my front. When i want to change to speaker, I go to Realtek HD Audio Manager and right click my Headphones, Connector Retasking, and Front Speaker Out. Same way if i want to change back to Headphones I am playing Spotify in my Chrome, because of unavailability in my country, so i use proxies. I have no Sound Cards, only the one built-in my mobo

hi you guys. i have a monitor which is installed to the vga port on an asus h97 motherboard. with a resolution of 1080p the image becomes quite blurry. however, if i connect the monitor to an old hp mini laptop the vga image is crispy clear - again with 1080p. is this normal? did this ever happen to you? any thoughts on this? because it sucks to have a new motherboard with a blurry image.

Hi, so, earlier, I poster a really dumb thread: "what?" I am now sure that the only way of playing console games on pc is by an emulator. And ps3 emulators will still take years to fully work so I can play the games I want, still at a locked (I suppose) quality. What if. Somehow, console companies launched some sort of "Console Card"? 1st of all, it would sure make them a TON of money so I don't think that would be an issue It could be like steam machines! Where you could play the games at a quality that you decided based on your pc! Wouldn't it be awesome? I might be completely wrong, but from what I've read, consoles work with a messed up OP CPU and a mid-range CPU, we (pc) already have the GPU's, good GPU's. Couldn't they just throw us some sort of CPU card? Like, something you just plug in ur pci/pci-e, Install some messy drivers, and play? I am gona be honest, I hate consoles. Sorry. I just don't like the way you have to pay x amount to get one that changes every 2 years and that has a 0 customization level. But I just want to play some of my childhood exclusives without having to pay for the console+game(all doe I'd buy the game, even if it was after I played it just to support the developers) or go to someone's house and play a SINGLE PLAYER game. Wouldn't it be the best for everyone? Let's see, a ps4 costs ~$350. I would not hesitate in buying a freaking "card" for like ~$240+ at all. If they are that bad about their mad money, they could just launch an stupid card 1/3 of the pc community would buy(I might be exaggerating). This is just and idea, it would also be nice if some third party could do it but it's probably illegal anyway.

Hello! I am trying to upgrade my memory on my PC, and I have a question: Would I be able to mix these two x2 8GB modules: http://www.amazon.com/PNY-1600Mhz-Desktop-Memory-Module-MD16384KD3-1600-X9/dp/B00D1IUEHW/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1429246271&sr=1-4&keywords=16+gb+ram with my current x2 4GB modules: http://www.amazon.com/G-SKILL-Ripjaws-1600MHz-PC3-12800-F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM/dp/B004KY719A/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1429245970&sr=1-1&keywords=F3-12800CL8-8GBXM for a total of 24 GB? Would that be problematic? Thanks in advance.

Okay so i was exploring Massdrop earlier today and i found the E-Element RGB keyboard, link to the drop below. My question is has anyone herd of this brand or this keyboard? I cant find anything on them at all. It looks veryveryvery nice. It almost looks like a k70 RGB clone other than the standard bottom row. Anyone know anything about the keyboard and switches and stuff???? https://www.massdrop.com/buy/e-element-rgb-keyboard?utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_term=Community%20-%20Mechanical%20Keyboards%20-%20MAU%20%28Active%29&utm_campaign=Mech%20Keys%20Active%20Product%20Announcement%202015-04-12&mode=guest_open

Hi! I'm sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place. My PSU just arrived and the power cable is type g. The ones going on around here are type f. I've been looking for options and there are two thing I think I can do. 1 - get a different power cable; 2 - replace the wall outlet since they are both 220V to 240V (I'm not sure about amps, I think that's different but idk if it makes any difference) 3 - get an adapter (I kinda quit on this one as adapter either are not powerful enough or don't have ground) Don't go too technical on me as my knowledge doesn't go far beyond this in what concerns electricity. Thanks for your help and time.

Hi, can someone please explain there difference between these three values and why each one is different? I dont understand why the wattage varies so much when all tests are done on the same 8-ohm speaker... what is the difference? This is where the rest of the specs are in case you need any more info: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/846128-REG/Sony_STRDH130_STR_DH130_2_Channel_Stereo_Receiver.html

Hello LinusTechTips Forum! I just joined this community and this is my first time posting here so please bear with me I'm about to SLI two GTX 970's, and here's my situation. I have an incoming ASUS GTX 970 STRIX in about a month since STRIX is yet to be available in my country, this card is already purchased btw. Then I can buy another GTX 970 right now, but if I want another ASUS STRIX I must wait until it is available, which means that would be the time when my first incoming 970 strix arrives. So I have these options: A) Wait for a month to have identical cards (Which would give me another month of no games) B)Buy a GALAX GTX 970 EXOC right now and SLI it with the ASUS STRIX later on. so for the option B, I looked up the web and found out that GALAX Exoc has higher clock rates than ASUS STRIX. I wouldn't mind if the GALAX card would downclock a bit to match the STRIX. As long as they would presumably run stable. So will there be other consequences on SLI'ing these different brand cards other than those I mentioned? Or will it be very worth it to wait instead to have identical STRIX for SLI? Thanks for those who will answer

Hello! I have had my computer for over a year now and it came to my mind that when i built it i just used some screws that fitted and felt that it was sitting there snug. I used the screw to the left. Is that the correct one to use? If it was the wrong, should i worry and swap them out for the right screws?

Both of these videos have been uploaded to youtube, but if you look carefully at the size of the buttons or functions on the player they're different. In one they are totally bigger than in the other. What causes this? I think there might be a youtube setting you can change for your channel or it may have to do with the format of the uploads. Then again it may be a feature that only big channels can choose to enable. The smaller icons look sleeker to me. What do you guys think? What changes the size of the icons on the player? When I upload 1920x1080 MP4 videos they look like When some other channel uploads look like Here's another big channel that uses the "fat" player layout like what my default videos use.

This might be a newbie question, but I needed this information as I am building my first PC. What is the difference between EEC, Non-EEC and Non-EEC Unbuffered memory?

I am working with a couple of older Intel 775 boards at the moment, and I remembered that I heard people talking about different wiring on Intel 775 sockets. I'm looking at moving some CPUs around, so I really want to know about these differences in the sockets and how to identify that the CPU is compatable with the socket on the motherboard. If anyone could direct me to some information about the different versions of socket 775 that would be very helpful. Many thanks, FizzyFantom

This is slightly different... Any opinions on it? I think it's not bad, I think its a bit unnecessary, but at least they haven't ruined it completely.

Hey guys, I have this EVGA GTX 680, (http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-DisplayPort-Graphics-04G-P4-3687-KR/dp/B0083YF55U) and I found someone on Craigslist selling the same model except in the 2GB version. Is it safe to SLI these? Sorry if this question has already been asked. Thanks in advance guys!

Have any of you ever solved a portal puzzle in the way it wasn't intended or what seems like a really awkward way? I played this level first on Xbox 360 when I first bought the game. After trying the level for a while, I thought that I wasn't solving it correctly. Here's a video showing how I solved it (first part) and then how it was intended to be solved (second part). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rm8KfoL_8gk&feature=youtu.be Blueprint

Hey guys, I've been using Kingston HyperX blue RAM for quite a few builds now (approx. the last 3 years). I also got 2x 4GB DIMMs for my last build in july. The issue is that these are 1600MHz but only run at 1333 otherwise it keeps crashing etc, and the BIOS automatically chooses 1333MHz. I should mention that these modules were not a kit. I got one of them earlier the year as an upgrade for my former build and the other one with rest of the parts, but I checked model numbers and they were the same. It was the same article from the same merchant so it should have been the same. Now I had a look at my SPDs via CPU-Z: As you can see they actually are not the same. For my next upgrade I had planned to buy these, should work since it's the other channel. Any thoughts about my exisitng RAM? Kind regards, Trek

Today the multiplayer trailer for COD:Advanced Warfare was released. It featured jetpacks, lasers, dashing and levels with different states (Like one that floods). In my opinion, I think that it could actually shake things up. I personally am waiting for some actual gameplay rather than the scripted dummy matches that the video shows. Still I would like to hear from other users about how they feel about this trailer. Again I think this is good for COD and could actually make me want to go back to it seriously. If you want to view the trailer here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bj3-RsyJKfA&index=1&list=LLKjv3jVAgMeFUdUYQJAJ2vQ (Oh, and be nice. This is my first forum post)

So, im planing on installing NZXT Kraken X41's to my SLI GTX 780's and want to put the radiators in the front of my Corsair 760t. The thing is that i dont want to remove the AF140 white led in the front of the case because it looks so nice with the led, so my first thought is to have them as push and some noctua NF-A14 IPPC 2000rpm as pull. Is that possible or will the fans interfere with eachother? Maybe i should come up with some idea with a spacer or something?

Hello So, in my current PC, there is a Core i5-3570k. It is currently at stock frequency, so really, there is very little reason for this problem. The problem is that Core Temp and CPU-Z produce different voltage and clock readings from each other. It really makes no sense, as one of the two programmes must be chatting shit and plucking figures out of a field of randomness. So does anyone know what is going on? Thankyou for reading, Tom
