So a few days ago i posted a topic here for advices on a "D15S to CLC 280" upgrade. The replys uniformly suggests me to just kept the D15S. Unfortunately things goes south faster than i expected. As it turns out the performance of D15S relies heavily on the ambient temperature and the air temperature inside the case. After a day of use (or gaming) the CPU (5900X) is much easier to throttle than in the morning of a day, especially the other heat source inside the case is a 450W beast GPU. So i started to find a better cooling solution, only to find out that i was in an awkward position because of the case(4000D Airflow). Don't get me wrong, i think this case is fantastic for its price and the airflow itself is very decent, but only when you are trying to cool down a overclocked 5900X, the problem start to occur. Overall there are these problems if i want to upgrade to a better cooling solution (280 AIO and better) 1. Front radiator problem: 360 aio fits, but only in a non-GN-approved way, and there really isn't that many affordable high-performance 360 AIO cooler in the market. Liquid freezer 2 is a good option, but the radiator is too thick to fit in the front. 280 aio fits well and the pricing is reasonable, but for a push-pull config it interferes with my GPU, no matter it is a slim rad aio or a liquid freezer ii. 2. Top radiator problem: 280 aio does not fit when you have a slightly taller ram. Ripjaws V is not the tallest ram, but still tall enough to invalid this option. (slim rad may fit, 240mm is not affected) 3. Exhaust fan problem: The rear of the case can only accommodate a 120mm fan, and the top mesh is pretty dense. My S12As can only move a bit of air through them. 4. Case size problem: Even if i saved enough money for a custom loop, this case is too small for one. So these are some ideas i have and i'd like to hear your opinions: 1. Wait till next-gen D15 and upgrade to the new fan (possible 1-2c improvement) 2. 240/280mm slim rad aio on the top (?c improvement) Example: CLC 280, EK AIO Basic 240 3. 280mm aio front with half push-pull and half push only (?c improvement) Example: Liquid Freezer 280 4. 360mm slim rad aio (?c improvement) Example: EK AIO Basic 360, H150i family Thanks in advance.

Hello people c: , So I recently bought a pre-built office pc with a Core i5 2400 8gb of ddr3 ram windows 10 pro and a 400 HDD, this PC has a Micro Star ms 7707 motherboard and had a GT 210 installed in it which I swapped out for a AMD Radeon HD 6950 but the card only shows it booting and loading windows and then it just gives weird output flashing screen and so on , this happened/started while installing the drivers for the card and went on after that, so unistalling them should fix it right ? Wrong I tried that and I still got this weird screen flashing . If I put the gt 210 back in it it just works fine . At this point am a bit lost and not exactly sure what to do, so help would be greatly appreciated ! c: I am building this pc for my little sister because she wants to play roblox and minecraft. Following is a Video of the screen flashing ! Weirdpc.mp4

Hello! I've been working on this project for a little while, but only now am I ready to somewhat show it (outside of the SFF discord). I can't guarantee anything about the case coming to market or being finished at all, but I'm enjoying working on it so far. Anyway, I'll just list everything I have for now: The Specs: CPU Cooler Clearance: 70mm (NH L12S) GPU Clearance: 3-slot, 320mm (I'd recommend sticking to something a bit shorter, like the 3090 FE, if possible) Fan Support: 120x25mm fan below PSU Volume: 9.3L external (L12S adds a lot of width compared to the T1 for example that is only 133mm, compared to ~155 + panels w/L12S support). I've also added distance between PSU and GPU (PSU offset) as well as a spine that does not block the FE airflow path, so thermals with the FE card should be decent. No water-cooling support, the T1 already exists with similar GPU compatibility (3090 FE fits in 3-slot mode no problem) and if you want to water-cool the CPU there is no point in having the 70mm of cooler clearance in most cases. As I said, if you'd like to water-cool, I'd point you towards the excellent FormD T1. Here is a render of the upcoming second prototype (testing first prototype right now, to make sure GPU PCIe slot alignment is correct and such). Side panels done too, but they are not in this render. Here's a picture of the first "prototype" (it's really just to test fit, no panels on this one). I basically just wanted to make sure the GPU fit in the slot and locks in properly, and thankfully I was able to seat the spare GTX 1050 I have without too many issues (took a couple tries since I didn't want to break the plastic by pushing into the slot too hard) so my measurements seem to be correct enough for the riser positioning. I still need to test the motherboard, but after that I should be ready to move on to the second prototype (with panels and all). Anyway, that's all I have for now, I'll hopefully update this thread as I make progress.

So I'm going to Nero this thread again to say that I'm presently in discussion with protocase to go over and rework the LTT design for a build I'm working on. One concern I have is that the 3090 with a EKWB Vector block will not fit into a 4u case, so I'm considering 5U? Another thought is that placing the rads in front of the motherboard is a fundamentally flawed. My machine runs at over 600w in 'full tilt' OC mode. The thing is a furnace, it would be like placing you components in front of a heater. At this time, I have the hardware on a TT core p3 chassis with a EK 420mm rad (140x3) and its not even close to providing the head dissipation that I needs. To make maters worse, I recently ordered a new cpu that will provide the loop with even more heat. Wouldn't it make more sense to vent the case through its sides? I haven't purchased a server cabinet yet but I could imagine its design playing a roll in this decision. Anyway thanks for the consideration, any and all thoughts would be appreciated. hardware: MSI atx motherboard 9900k delidded with derbour OC plate -ekwb block evga ftw3 ultra 3090 -ekwb block 32 GB trident royal 3600mhz rog thor 1200 psu Hardware update (incoming next week) asus atx motherboard 5950x -ekwb monoblock supporting hardware from above to carry over

Budget (including currency): currently what I have now in the pcpartpicker link is what I plan to spend Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: photoshop, multitasking, 1440p gaming, graphic design Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): https://pcpartpicker.com/user/squidnee/saved/BP8TYJ I current have a 1660ti that I plan to use until I have the money saved up for the GPU in my pc list I also plan to top mount the AIO and keep the front fans where they are, plus maybe use a rgb fan from my prebuilt to the back of the new one as an exhaust I also plan to transfer all my SSD and hard drive info to the M.2's but am still a little unsure how to do that. I do have a few videos. THESE WILL BE MY PARTS, I PLAN TO BUY THEM NEXT WEEK this will be my first custom build by myself so I wanna make sure everything will go smooth since I am a beginner but I know the basics. Any conformation on these parts would be wonderful! Since I have been saving up for a while to upgrade which is needed. Plz any tips for reinforcing ideas would be great!

I recently decided to make a modded version of the Windows 10 iso using the MSMG toolkit, and I removed most microsoft software for privacy reasons. (following this guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6XPff38iSc; i removed mostly the same stuff as him but kept some things) The microsoft store is still functional with free software, but for paid games/software (eg: forza horizon 4 which is registered to my microsoft account) i cannot download. i try to sign in, but when i press the add account button, it doesnt work. I also tried opening the windows store in a browser, signing in, then pressing install (which opens up the windows store, but it still does not allow me to download it.) is there a way to sign into the microsoft store while still remaining private from windows? also, logitech g hub does not want to install. this could be a seperate issue, but when I open the installer, it just get stuck on installing, but once i actually open the program, it is unusable.

Looking into picking up the Steiger Dynamics Era pc but can't find any external forums on this build. My main concern is gaming with this. It would be kept in a home entertainment system, somewhere you would place a VCR. It has an AIO watercooling option, which I feel like mitigates the issue of recirculating hot air through the case greatly, so long as it can vent. If anyone has any experience on the system or recommendations let me know, I am getting it with a 3080 but I could swap that out later with a 2060 if I need to due to thermals.

What's up everyone! I have finally got around to starting my nes mod I've been wanting to do this for years now ever since I say the nes 3.0. I finally have enough cash to get everything I need. My dad had an old nes in his she'd that was in pretty decent shape so I saved some cash there but here's the parts I went with Part List: Cpu: intel i3 10100 $80 offerup Gpu: Nvidia evga gt 1030 $100 Mobo: asrock h470m itx AC $120 Psu: HDplex 200w $65 Cooler: cryorig c7 already had Ram: 16gb not yet purchased Storage: 256gb nvme not yet purchased I'm slowly beginning to prep the NES I started by dremeling out the piece of plastic that looks like a T and a bunch of the screw posts. All it needs is some sanding now. I'm waiting on a 3d printed motherboard tray that subparmixtape on here designed ( thanks to you sir!) This will make the build a lot easier and cleaner. I'll post up my progress

I'm curious if anyone has any interest in some electroplated pc components. If so, which and what would it be worth it to you? Trying to see if it would be worth it to do a batch of stuff on my own. Need an excuse to dedicate the space and time for it so just trying to gauge if this is anything anyone is interested in or not.

I need help to build custom case for iMac 27 inch late 2015 A1419. The LCD display broken, and I don't want to spend money to buy it's display, instead of using cheaper external display. Another case is.. There is 2 and half of 4 led indicator. I believe.. First led for power supply, second is for the mainboard, third for GPU, and fourth for display. Third LED not fully bright. Fan spinning faster since starup but somehow, the external monitor working good.. So.. I just thinking to bring all the machine out of the iMac steel. And put into a custom case. Or if you having any solution and advice please, I love to know it.. Thanks..

So I've been building a workstation rig on the cheap, however I've run into a problem where the battery and motherboard use the old BTX form factor rather than standard ATX, but rather than trying to hack up a case to mod it for BTX, I'd much rather work with a company (or an individual) who can do it professionally. Does Anyone have any leads on someone to work with for this?

Hi, just found out there's also a LTT forum. LTT really inspired me to build a PC myself when they released their Desk-PC video. I really enjoyed building and planning it and I'm quite pleased with the result. Since LTT practically taught me how to build a pc I thought I'll share it with you. Immediately after watching the desk-PC video I knew I wanted one too so I started thinking about how I could build it and how it should look like. Once I had a good plan in my head I started modeling all the components of the PC to figure out all the cable lengths and other important measurements. Fortunately there's a maker space close to where I live so I had the opportunity to cnc mill all big parts out of plywood. I also modeled and 3d printed multiple smaller parts for the PC but I don't want that post to be too long. Then it was time to test fit all the parts, put them together and sand, prime, sand and paint everything. modeled 3d printed covers for the 200mm fans so they look the same regardless of their orientation Sounds easy in this short summary but man it took me a long time to create all the necessary parts for my pc (cant see them here) make them all fit and learning how to use a cnc machine in the first place After all of that was done it was finally the day where everything was ready to be assembled. It was also the day I was moving to a new place. So naturally the first thing that had to be running was the pc here you can see what all the cnc milled channels are being used for. Mostly extensions since I wanted the motherboard to be in the middle of the desk. Already looks way better with the thin wooden sheet on top. Aaaand done Funny thing is that when I first wanted to turn on my pc I panicked for a moment because it didn't do anything. Turned out that I just forgot to turn on the switch on the power supply In the end I just could not resist to turn the 3d blocking of the motherboard into a highly detailed 3d model and render a couple of sequences to also test if the pc is stable throughout multiple days of 100% cpu load when overclocked. After some crashes when rendering for longer than about 20 hours I got it dialed in and my 2700x now runs at 4.2GHz on all cores at 100% load for days (3200MHz ram).

Budget (including currency): Around $8.000 Country: Worldwide Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: GTA V, RDR2, WarZone, CyberPunk 2077, Battlefield V // Blender, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Daz3D Other details: Hi everyone, I´m new here, so I don´t know if I´m posting this in the right place, but I´ll try anyways. I´ve been wanting to upgrade my PC/Workstation for a while now and I´ve been searching all over the internet. There are a lot of companies out there like OriginPC, NZXT or DigitalStorm but none of them do custom watercooled PCs. I don´t build custom PCs neither do I want to learn how to do that. I´m simply looking for a company or an individual who builds custom PCs for clients. Attached, you can find a picture of what I mean by a custom PC rig. So if anybody knows about someone who builds custom PCs like the one from the attached picture - contact info or website would be much appreciated. Thank you

Budget (including currency): ??? AUD Country: Australia Im looking for a CAD designer to help me design a custom waterblock for my laptop im planning on turning into a watercooled gaming frakenstein. Its a G7 17 (7790) that has an i7-9750H and RTX 2060 in it and I use it alot for gaming and other general uses. Although I dont play any super intesive games it still get very very hot due to the Aussie heat and poor cooling design from Dell. Even with the undervolt I have on it (-0.128V), any lower and it becomes unstable over long term. Its constantly bordering thermal throttling and can never boost too its max boost clocks because of it. Ive dabbled into designing one myself using Autodesk Fusion 360 but its simply not my forte. If any of you have seen or go look at my other posts you will know that I have been looking to do this for a while and Im also looking to put and a better CPU in it which would just make things even hotter. Before any of you start blasting this topic with just get a new laptop or get a new computer or anything like that please note that I do not wish to get a new laptop or computer. I am aware of the risks and costs. I just want to make a custom laptop cause I can and it would be cool. I have put some thought into the waterblocks design and the whole watercooling loop but need the help of someone who could assit in making it a reality. Im obviously willing to pay, even more so if you could help me get it properly fabricated too. Any help is appreciated ^^

I just finished my design for micro-ATX desktop. Small open style and sexy (hopefully). I am planning to mount GPU verticaly and whole system is rotated 45 degrees to right (I/O is on top of the case). 2x120mm fans on bottom. PSU have its own enclosure on left side, with HDD and SSD mounts. Right side is basically just big fancy blue LED (friends request), there is one strip on left side next to the MOBO too. I am still in design phase, i want to hear any ideas you guys have. Anything that you would change or improve ? I will be using mostly aluminium for the build.

Hello good people. Just wanted to show you my mancave machine. Build description is on the imgur album. Payphone to PC The specs are very modest but RDR2 medium quality getting 60fps isn't bad. But seriously made me consider a dedicated GPU. There isn't one that would fit organically, but with a riser I might be able to achieve it. Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks.

I found this cool 240 aio from SilentiumPC (https://www.silentiumpc.com/en/product/navis-rgb-240/) but the tubes don't come with sleeving and I have no idea about the diameter of the tubes so I don't know what size of sleeving to buy. I was wondering if someone with an aio from the same lineup could measure the outer diameter of the tubes and send it to me. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Budget (including currency): 900 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Programming, games, light content creation (Screen record and edit). Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): No peripherals needed except for a surge protector. Running a 3440x1440(60Hz) display and plan to get a 2k 16:9 display in the future to use in conjunction (Potrait for programming). I want to buy in the next 48 hours since my laptop is giving problems and I have work to do. Existing setup - MSI cs62 7QL (Laptop) - Intel Core i7 7500U, 12gb ram, Nvidia 940mx graphics, 1080p screen, 1tb Samsung 860 evo ssd. So I've a laptop (MSI cs62 7QL) which I use for my school, mainly for programming, some games (mostly fps, Gtav), edit videos as part of assignments (screen record and edit). I've been having problems with it since April 2020. I get BSODs (Windows 10) with the errors pointing towards driver issues/ ram/HDD/ corrupt system files. I've run many different tests out there and couldn't solve the issue. This issue keeps popping up every now and then and as a prevention I've swapped the internal Hitachi HDD to Samsung 860 evo and the problems didn't show up for a while. BSODs keep popping up, but it's not as bad as it used to be. But sometimes they show up when I'm working on an assignment and the deadline is near. So I've decided to build a custom desktop PC to achieve stability and just work doesn't have to worry about problems. I mostly use Windows 10 pro but also use Linux via WSL2. With the custom build I'm thinking about getting a 1Tb SSD and partitioning it to dual boot Windows 10 pro and Ubuntu. So the parts that I've chosen are as follows. The criteria for choosing them is below them. Processor - Intel core i7 10700 (I don't overclock) Motherboard - Asus H470-Plus/CSM Ram- Kingston HyperX Fury 16GB 3000MHz DDR4 CL15 DIMM (Single stick) SSD - Samsung 860 evo 1Tb Case - Lian Li Lancool 2 Mesh/ Fractal design Meshify C Power supply - Seasonic Focus GX-750 80+ Gold Surge protector - Not yet decided, please recommend one (I'm looking at Belkin or APC) The thought process behind choosing this processor is that it has integrated graphics and can output, wherein going with a Ryzen (mostly) should be paired with a graphics card which I don't have a budget for now. Also going with a high end processor is necessary for me since I run multiple VMs and develop web apps on Apache tomcat, also have to stream video during class hours and present as well sometimes, not to mention 30 or more browser tabs that I open sometimes. I said I game as well and since I don't have the budget now I'll get a graphics card later. The ram is nothing fancy and I've used Kingston ram in the past and it didn't give me any problems so I just leaned towards it. The choice of SSD is same as well that it's a well known brand and have good stability. I just want to have cool internals and am looking at a case which has good air flow, I don't care for fancy internals or RGB. I went with a Seasonic power supply since they are a reputable brand and are known to make good PSUs, going 750W gives me some headroom when I want to upgrade down the line with a good graphics card (I'm looking at RTX 3080 or RX 6800XT). I'm looking for recommendations and suggestions on my build here and any help is highly appreciated. The motherboard is something that I haven't done a lot of research on. Also alternatively I'm leaning towards a Core i9 9900k since it's on sale in Micro center. If you want to recommend a motherboard (or any other parts) for any of these builds or for a completely new set of parts please consider if it's available (motherboard) in Micro center (Chicago) since I can bundle them and get a discount. Thank you for your time.
