I'm referring to what I've seen named "word clocks", I've also heard "master clock" around that topic (??). I'm fairly confused about this concept. I've done light researching and can tell it's not the most easy information to find. So I figured I could get some help here What is it and its purpose? Why would I need or want it? How does it work and how would I set it up? Edit: On this Image what Is that switch referring to? Thanks! -Alex

I need help, My machine isnt new (about 2.5 years) and I played a lot of GTA V and was getting a pretty stable 50-60 fps. Then I stopped playing for a few months when school got rough. When I came back and booted the game it was totally unplayable (like maybe a frame every 5 seconds if I was lucky). No changes to my system and a fresh install of the game and still no improvement the menus are even unusable because its so slow. Is there any hope? Note: this is the only game this has happened in all my other games still run perfectly on high settings

So my camera's actual resolution for images in the settings is 5184x3456, which is 16:10. However when I actually take the images and look at the resolutions, they're all brought down to 5184x2912, which is 16:9. How do I keep them in that original 16:10 aspect ratio? Should I even care about this?

Why is the Intel Core i7-6700K Skylake Quad-Core 4.0 GHz LGA 1151 91W BX80662I76700K Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 530 better than the AMD FX-4350 Vishera Quad-Core 4.2 GHz Socket AM3+ 125W FD4350FRHKBOX Desktop Processor? note 1: to open links, hover over the link of your choosing with mouse cursor, and right click, then choose the text "open tab in new web browser" i don't know if the links register, this is the first time i'm trying this that's why i added note 1 . Please spare me i'm a noob note 2:after clicking the links it will direct you to the cpus and keep scrolling down till you "see specifications" you can't miss it. note 3: or you can look at the screenshots i've attached to this post link 1: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117559 link 2: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113326 amd cost way less, and i've seen youtube videos always comparing amd and intel with intel always coming up on top, its pretty obvious that the intel above we're comparing is better than the amd above, but in plain text you can get mistaken. Both have quad cores and 4 ghz. whats the thing that intel has that makes it cost more and beats out this amd. In the blue texts above just as is, if you were to compare this amd to this intel cpu its clear that this amd will win with just the comparison of quad core plus the ghz, but if you look at the the specs behind them and overall, its a much more different story. I want to know why even though they both have quad cores and 4 ghz, intel will win by a landslide. it will be awesome if someone can explain this to me i don't really know a bunch about computers, so if its something simple that everybody knows and just so happens that i'm the only few that dont know, pls sharee if you're reading this, hi ._.

I was trying to clone my OS drive onto my SSD, but I ran into a problem. Apparently when I installed my Intel 730 SSD awhile back, and then upgraded to Windows 10, one of the system reserved partitions found its way onto my SSD (pic attached). I am almost positive that it is Windows Boot Manager, as my BIOS tells me WBM is attached to that drive. I don't know how this happened, as I thought the Windows installation all went to the same disk I was upgrading from. Anyway, when I tried to clone my old drive, EaseUS would not let me due to the system partition being on the target disk. I tried to move that partition back to my OS drive, but cannot. I don't want to format the drive, and then repair Windows, as I am afraid that will mess things up. Aside from performing a clean install of Windows, what can I do?

Hello! I recently built a my first PC so I'm kinda new to all this, but everything went ok with the building process and installation process and I've bee playing on my new computer for a week or so without any issues. Today I updated my Gefroce driver and went into a game at the same time and my whole screen turned black. I had to restart the PC and do the installation all over again, and everything went fine (I think). I was going to play GTA V but then I realised that my GPU fans were spinning very slow. So I went into MSI afterburner and tried to turn the fan % up. The fans spun faster for about 2 secounds and after that the fan speed slowed down again to about 20%. I tried to set it on auto mode, but the same thing happened. The software set the speed to 40% and 2 sec later it went down to 20% ish. I'm so confused on what to do and how to fix the problem. I've tried to install evga precision but I am having the same problem on that software as well. I do also believe that my GPU fans are "pulsing" by spinning a little bt faster and slower every secound. Plese help me My setup: CPU: Intel i5-9600k GPU: RTX 2070 or to be more precise ASUS GeForce RTX 2070 Strix OC 8G Ram: (2x8) Corsair vengeance lpx 16gb DDR4 3000memory Power: EVGA 600 W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply Motherboard: aorus z390 pro wifi Storage: 250 GB M.2 SSD samsung evo pro and 1tb seagate barracuda

Specs for the PC in question: CPU: i3 8100 GPU: GeForce GTX 1050 Motherboard: Gigabyte Z370P D3 16GB DDR4 RAM Windows 10 Pro Note: The Mobo and CPU are brand new (bought 2 weeks ago), and are within their return date Hello all. Recently my brothers PC has stumbled upon seemingly random faults. These include: Before factory resetting: - random pink screen that lasted ~5 minutes - flashing objects in game plus flickering when surfing the web (using Firefox had issues, but Edge worked perfectly) etc. This is relevant to before and after the factory reset. - game crashes in multiple games - general unstabilities i.e. some applications don't load After factory resetting and clean installing GPU drivers using DDU just in case (THE CURRENT STATE OF THE PC): - applications such as command prompt and file explorer (to name a few) going "blank" when opened (they open but only the perimeter of the window is visble. The main body is literally blank - no text, nothing). This seems to occur after launching a game and it then crashing - the PC freezes when trying to carry out simple tasks such as resetting/turning off the PC + general unstability within windows (taking exceptionally long to get into applications or flat out not working) - A few games have been tested: ----> Overwatch runs well aside from occasional flickering in the menu, but crashes when going into multiplayer. ---->Hollow Knight which is a single player game seems to work without issue. ---->Left for Dead 2 ran almost perfectly in single player (occasional flickers but the game was completely playable. However, as soon as multiplayer loaded it crashed. ---->Before factory resetting, Borderlands 2 worked well, however we never tried joining someone elses game. This leads me to think that perhaps it is not entirely a GPU error if some games DO run in singleplayer, but not online. HOWEVER (correct me if I'm wrong) a GPU error would not cause issues when surfing the web, launching applications or trying to restart the computer. This is what confuses me. Is it multiple unrelated issues or just one big issue? I really don't know what to do. I am somewhat intermediate level when it comes to PCs, building 5 gaming rigs to date and tending to all the shit that usually comes up with PCs. Apologies if this is in the wrong section/whatever its called. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you

Good day everyone, Today I picked up my RTX 2080 Super Aorus, I uninstalled the old graphic card software switched everything off, swapped everything around, Booted, installed drivers etc and hope into a game... which is where the problem comes in, it seems like my pc is still running with it's previous cards performance (Geforce GTX 650 Ti) but when I boost the graphics I get 8 FPS in ARK, Anno 2205 and pretty much all the games I own, I have tried search for what I maybe have done wrong or if maybe the pc isn't strong enough for the card. Spec are: Ryzen 5 2600X, ROG STRIX B350-F Motherboard, 16gb Corairs DDR4 3000MHz, 750W High Current Gold Series PSU, etc etc and then the GPU as listed above. Anyone possibly have any Advice on what I could have missed while installing or anything at all. Thanks in Advance.

Hello everyone. A small disclaimer at first... I am asking only out of curiosity. I need some storage solution and recently youtube "recommended" me a couple of videos where Linus installs Storinators for another youtubers. Now, i am living in Austria and at the moment we do not have (at least as far as i know) any similar companies that provide anything similar. So, i go to 45drives webpage - AV15 Configuration - Base Configuration and what i see... more than 2500 $ without drives, without any additional support or warranty, without config and setup, without OS (freeNAS), no redundant SSD. Again out of curiosity, i compared our current prices for the same components they use in AV15. Mobo: 1151 S SUPERMICRO X11SSH-CTF - 428 EUR CPU: Intel Xeon E3 1220 - 213 EUR Power supply: Corsair RM650 - 87 EUR RAM: they do not specify what 8 GB stick is used, but the most expensive ECC UDIMM DDR4 2400MHz (and that`s assuming with 1220 v6, however in spec sheet it says v5 with 2400 Memory) stick that we have is Kingston DIMM 8GB, DDR4-2400, CL17-17-17, ECC - 142 EUR SSD: there is also no exact model, but if they use the same one for redundancy (there are 2 options: 1 - single ssd 120 GB; 2 - single ssd + redundant ssd), then the price difference is 146 $ (132 EUR) Overall it is about 1002 EUR or (according to our current 06.09.2019 exchange rate) 1105 $ So another more than 1400 $ is for Case and obviously SAS expanders/cables. I understand that case is a custom one, but still, why so expensive, especially for only 15 drives? And again i ask only out of curiosity, maybe i am missing something

This cord came with my psu never used it never thought about it till I was rummaging around in the box but I'm not quite what it can be used for except maybe daisy chain for crossfire or sli. What is it: from what I know its an 8pin that goes into a 6+2 which from the first 6 branches into a second 6+2. Dont suppose I could use this to power a dual 8 pin card could I?

troubleshoot Performance Issue during gaming
chodders94 posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Recently in the past 2-3 months, mayube longer I have been noticing some performance issues during gaming and I can't figure out the reason. I have mostly been playing Overwatch and Apex:Legends My Specs are: Core i5 7600k @3.8ghz 8GB EVGA FTW GTX 1070 MSI xPower Gaming Titanium Z270 8GB DDR4 3000 Corsair Dominator 120GB Corsair Force LS SSD 2TB SSHD 1TB HD 27" 1080p 144Hz Samsung Curved Monitor So the issue is a noticable drop in framerate making for stuttery gameplay. I like to play on high settings as I know my PC can handle it in both games and deliver 144FPS, yet every minute or so I see the counter just randomly blip to below 100FPS for a second and everything just freezes in place. Now the games have even been starting to crash. I have run a 3dMark Time Spy bench test and achieved a score of 5840 and a 3dMark Fire Strike test and achieved a score of 14954. This was done on 19/02/2019 and 20/02/2019 respectively. I have also run a MemTest86 today on 04/03/2019 which provided 0 errors, and malware and virus scans which also provided 0 errors. I should mention that a while back almost 12 months ago I had a slight cooling issue for my CPU. I have an NZXT Kraken 62 and around that time the CAM software was temperamental at best and often times wouldn't allow me to log on to see my temps. One day I managed to get into the software and to my shock and horror the pump speed was at 0 when it should have been 50% (the pump had failed) I also noticed that my CPU temp was above 90c, so I quickly turned off the PC and didn't turn it back on until i got my replacment. Unfortunately I can't determine how long my PC had been operating under these conditions, but I never recieved an overheating warning or anything and the PC has been working fine (except this) ever since. What are the best plans of attack as the computer is less than 2 years old so I don't want to throw money at it, if there are other solutions first. Thanks. -

This is a legitimate question. I have my english grammar BOARD exam tomorrrow and have this query. I tried stackexchange but to no avail, so I became desperate and am asking here. Moderators pls dont pull this down. "Though it rained the whole night, the town was not flooded"(Use the word 'notwithstanding' without changing the meaning of the sentence) In the above question, we are supposed to reframe the sentence using the word 'notwithstanding' without changing the sentence's meaning. I think it should be something along the lines of-"notwithstanding it having rained the whole night, the town was not flooded". The basic rule is that the sentences must be pretty much similar without any change in their meaning Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

0. Actual problem My family and friends and every soul I told that I wanna build a pc replied "you dont have any experience/ you haven't seen anyone build a pc/ what if parts break?" I have been watching Linus since I got internet like 3-4 years ago I have downloaded the rgb pc build guide and listen to it everytime I am doing some boring repetitive tasks (writing project, etc). Somany people have said that I can't build I am doubting that if, just if i bend the pin of cpu or it the parts dont work? I wanted to buy from MDcomputers but there t&c states 3. Hi, my name is Timothy. I recently installed Navbar Apps to go with my keyboard (which is black) so i didnt have a white navbar on the keyboard. However, whenever my phone starts up, it changes to neon green for no apparent reason until it updates. I've configured every program and service on the phone that was set to green to pink and still nothing worked. I have a galaxy s10e. Is there another app i could use or is there a fix?

Hello, trying to find a case for this motherboard which won't end up with me losing access to cable routing holes because of overlap. Its a wider than normal eatx board apparently. Originally looked at the 011dynamic but I think there would be too much overhang across the grommets and fans. Obsidian 1000D would fit but would be enormously empty. Started looking at the CoolerMaster c700m but unlike other cases I can't find a motherboard overlay diagram for it - I know that my motherboard is ~5mm wider (10.9in/27.686cm vs 10.7in/27.178cm) than their eatx size 'allowed' but at the same time I have no idea if a standard eatx in the c700m would be right up to the edge of the cable grommets, or already overlapping them slightly, or whatever. So that 5mm might mean nothing or could mean disaster. Dum dum dummmmm. Anyone got any ideas? 1000D is awesome but so much money to spend on fans with that case. Iv seen photos of the board happily living in the older 900D but with no usb3/c I forget which it lacks that's a bit redundant. EDIT**** The 500D SE is still my fav case, but again it would be 5mm too big by their own eatx limits, but I wonder would that 5mm make so much difference to routing cables..depends how wide the grommet holes are in the first place I guess Pic I found of the interior of the c700m is attached if it helps! Thanks!
