Hello, new to the forum but thought maybe you guys can help me out with a decision. I want to get a DAC/AMP but don't want to just blow off my money on something that is not going to be worth the price. I am currently using Audio Technica ATH pro700mkII's but I do plan to upgrade to something around the 80 or 100 impedance zone later on after collage. I have looked into the Fulla Schiit and the Fiio Olympus E10 and wanted some impressions on them. If you have any other recommendations that would be much appreciated. My budget is $50-$120 usd

Hey guys, I've had my eyes set on the Hifiman HE-500 for a while now and I've found a place where I can get a brand new Hifiman HE-500 for about 500 USD. However, it's the last one in stock, so I have to make my decision quickly. I'm currently using the Desktop Objective2 + ODAC combo from Mayflower Electronics and the Sennheiser HD 598 which I just recently picked up. I've been reading a lot of mixed opinions on the HE-500 and Objective2 combo. I've read in a few threads from Head-Fi that it takes a better amp than the Objective2 to get the best out of these pair of headphones and that it sounds better with a tube amp such as a Hifiman EF-5 or a speaker amp. I also read that the HE-500 benefits a lot from current from an amplifier and the Objective2 doesn't meet those requirements. There were many others who said the O2 has enough power and was "sufficient" for the HE-500 but didn't really elaborate on that. A brand new HE-500 for 500 USD seems like a good deal but it's still a lot of money to spend on headphones, so I wanna make sure that I'm making a good decision. If I do end up getting the HE-500, I'm hoping to be done with audio upgrades. What do you guys think? Is there anybody who've had experience with the HE-500 and the Objective2 amp? Is the Objective2 a good enough amp to pair the HE-500 with? Should I get the HE-500 or should I stick with what I have? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

so ive narrowed down my choices a great amount looking for a kb and mouse for my new rig. so far the features im looking for in a keyboard are....backlighting(white, green, or RGB), low profile keys, possibly media keys and/or macro keys. for a mouse i'd like a laser sensor, 5 button minimum, tilting scroll wheel(do they still make nontilting ones?), and no mmo style button clusters. these are the ones i have found, feel free to suggest more if you know of one. Hello, I'm upgrading my custom loop and i want to use this pump/res combo: https://shop.ekwb.com/ek-xres-140-d5-pwm-incl-pump but I want to use the top port as an inlet. If I bought this would it be compatible? https://shop.ekwb.com/ek-res-x3-top-v2-multiport and then i have to use an internal tube, would this work? https://shop.ekwb.com/ek-res-x3-internal-tube-12-16-40mm Thanks in advance. As we all know, Cooler Master already released a gaming combo, that was cheap and good, though the mouse wasnt that good, the Devastator. So, after RGB products being a thing that everyone wanted, CM released a "RGB" cheap gaming combo, the Octane. It has 7 different colors, for the mouse and keyboard. And a breathing mode. Here, in Portugal, it costs around 45€, so pricing in the US might hover around 50$.

Hey Guys, Long time reader, but finally decided to make a thread since I am in a pickle. Im buying an Odac along with an amp and have decided ont he SMSL sAp II: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/110889315357?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 but I came accross this: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/111278925841?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Does anyone have experience with any of the two amps? Whats the difference between the sAp II and III, the internals look different but which one will perform better? I cant really find anything at all on the sAp III so I am unsure as wether it is better or not. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Hey everyone! Does anybody own this bayres/pump-combo from XSPC? I'm interested in getting one for my planned custom loop, but first I'd like to ask if anyone owns this unit and can give me any information on pump reliability, noise and vibration. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have an old IDE PATA Samsung Combo SM-304b DVD drive which I have plugged into a secondary PC, but it doesn't appear to be working. I tested with Windows 7 (64bit) and the drive did not appear in the "Computer" window. In the device manager it claims to be a CD drive and is asking for drivers. I have also tested with Ubuntu (12.04.3 amd64) and it appears in the "Computer" window, but says its a CD drive. When I attempt to open it the software reports it cannot access the drive and it disappears from the "Computer" window. The drive appears in the bios and I have tested it in master and CS. It previously worked with this motherboard and CPU in Windows 7, but now it claims to need drivers. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated

Hey guys, I'm looking to watercool my rig by the end of this year. I have some questions for you regarding pumps, reservoirs and things. Firstly, I know a couple of people who tend to stay away from front bay reservoirs for one reason or another. I can imagine filling one might be tricky due to the nature of how it is situated (can anyone tell me if that's true?). I also know there are pump/front bay res combos, which I've also heard of people not liking so much. I do know that tubing runs to the front bays don't look so nice, but I may end up being restricted for space for a res by radiators when I plan out my build more. Next, is there a great deal of point in using dual pumps for redundancy. I know Linus has one pump in his rig that has been going for ages, so can someone recommend an uber-reliable pump for me? Thanks if you can help bchampion96

Has anyone heard of the Xbox 360 & PS3 combo build? I've seen it and even though it's not "pretty" modding, it can run both the consoles' hardware at good temperatures and the case doesn't look like junk, who else thinks this idea is pretty awesome? Especially with the new HAF Stacker 915's and 935 coming out, just imagine, running your favorite console games right on top of your favorite PC games, I don't think i know any fan of both PC and console that wouldn't want this if that person had the money and/or skill to build it. Now I really wish i had the modding skill and the budget to make it!!

Hey, I am looking for a Wifi + Blutooth device for my gaming PC. The solution must be internal and solid, i don't want to skimp on quality for something. I will not really use the Wifi part since I've got a cable hooked up to my PC but i have Sennheiser PX 360 Bluetooth headphones. So the Wifi is basically just a bonus because why not both! Here is what i found so far: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4134#ov Do you think it will be good? I want clean and good data transmission when i listen to music. Now to the most important part about this product: The antennas are aweful, i want a tidy and compact PC and no cable mess, what antennas can i replace those ones with? will it work with any antenna and do you guys know one that's compact? (It only has to go from my PC 2 feet to my head, so doesn't mater how good the signal is)

Do you think we will ever see a display that has two distinct technologies incorporated into it? Think, for example, a display that is a LED-LCD but also has an e-ink mode for text heavy sites, PDFs, and e-books. You might ask why such a thing would need to exist when you could easily just buy a dedicated e-reader for such purposes. Personally, I would like the simplicity of having a device that does a number of things well. While I certainly can read on my LCD for a while, the idea of being able to switch to a different mode of operation to utilize my Kindle for PC application is appealing. Let's not forget that the traditional hard drive has a huge amount of space in comparison to a Kindle. Thoughts? Stupid? Not stupid?

Hello, I have a FX 8320 @ 4.6Ghz on an asrock 970 extreme 3 R2.0, and its just not cutting it for crossfire with my 2 7950s on BF4 Multiplayer, I get a mere 63-65% usage on each netting me a few more fps. So I heard Intel is the way to go. I was thinking about the i5 4690k and a Z97 overclocking motherboard, as I want to COMPLEATLY remove the bottleneck I currently have with my FX. If it will remove the bottleneck, What's a good combo, I stated what I thought about I'm willing to use ebay for the mobo and CPU if needed. I live in Vancouver Canada (same as linus). Please list some good Z97 Mobos. Thanks!

I am very new to water cooling but I want to hook up my own personal rig so my question: Is this a good pump reservoir combo or should I look somewere else? If you don't think that its a good product what do you think I should get then, also what would the price be? If you would like to look more closely at this product here is the amazon.com link: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00A42X2KY/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2IBMHK23KU580&coliid=I20CI5TKSPRICA. So I'm upgrading my Comp (on a budget of £140ish) and need to replace the CPU as my current CPU the AMD Athlon II X2 250 3.0GHz will bottoleneck a MSI GTX 760 Twin Frozr and also want to replace the motherboard for sli config in the future. The parts I am thinking of getting are: CPU: AMD FX6300 Black Edition 6 Core 3.5/4.1GHz Motherboard: Msi 970a-g46 Will this be a good combination that will allow a MSI GTX 760 Twin Frozr and future sli to perform well without any 'bottlenecking'. If you know of a better more powerful combination of CPU/Motherboard, Please tell me as I want to have the best setup with the money I have available to me. -Thanks!!

Hello all, I have recently purchased a Objective2 + ODAC Combo from Mayflower. The item has not arrived yet, however, as LTT forum is sort of the place for Mayflower support and questions, I’d like to “review” Mayflower’s customer support. As all of you probably know, Mayflower’s rep in the forum is really helpful. You can see my own threads where he promptly helps me out the best way he can. I have actually seen him recommend people not to buy his products when it was his honest opinion that, for that use case, the person did not need an amp or a DAC. I think that’s very praise-worthy, and shows his sincere good faith in helping people out. However, this is all BEFORE people buy the products. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed at Mayflower’s customer support after having bought the O2+DAC. I bought the O2+DAC on the 27th of November, and the item was shipped on the 29th: so far so good. It has been over a month (almost 5 weeks) and I still have not received the item. I live in Portugal, so it’s a long trip, specially this time of the year, no biggie. However, in Mayflower’s site one reads: When the 4 weeks passed, I contacted the portuguese postal services to check if the item was being held in customs. Yesterday I got the answer: the item hasn’t entered the country. Obviously Mayflower’s knows better than I about the shipping service they use, thus, since they said 2-4 weeks, I sent a friendly e-mail asking if everything was OK, maybe they’d got some news or the item might’ve been returned, I don’t know. Unfortunately, the attitude I got in the answer was far from pleasing as a customer. I’m a big boy and I can take it, but to me it shows a profound lack of professionalism. Maybe I'm just largely overreacting (feel free to tell me that, I can also take it ), I’ll transcript the e-mails and add screenshots, that way you guys can judge and take your own conclusions. To me it seems that there two approaches in Mayflower’s customer support: one BEFORE you buy, and one AFTER you buy. A friend of mine was also buying an O2+DAC combo from Mayflower (under my recommendation), after I showed him the e-mail he is already looking into the alternatives. ----- e-mail transcripts ----- My first contact message: The answer I got: The answer I gave:

Hey guys so I have been fascinated with watercooling ever since I became a hardware fiend and now I'm to the point of starting to look at the parts I want and figure out the way I want to do this excellent project. So let's start off with my build. Case: Corsair 350D CPU: i5-4670k @3.8 GHz RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB @1600 Video Card: Radeon HD 7970 (I will be getting a different card by the time I watercool this rig, probably SLI 770/780) PSU: Cooler Master V850 Cooler: H100i (doesn't matter for this) HDD: WD Blue 1TB SSD: Plextor 128GB Motherboard: ASRock Z87m Extreme 4 Ok so now I will tell you my idea for the watercooling loop, and where I need YOUR help (because people on this forum are excellent and awesome and smart and pretty) So I am going to be cooling both the video cards and the processor. Here is a picture of the build: http://i.imgur.com/CbJqStK.jpg And here is a rough draft for the loop: http://i.imgur.com/22Jar5Q.jpg So I am wondering, does that look fine? I am wanting to use acrylic tubing only, with fittings (if possible) so where can I find some nice acrylic tubing, and how do I cut it? I also want a pump/reservoir combo unit, similar to this http://www.frozencpu.com/images/products/large/ex-res-680.jpg but something with a little bigger res, as big as I can fit. So does anyone know of a really good pump/res combo like that one that has enough power for 2 GPU's and 1 CPU? Any other info/help would be much appreciated. Thanks again awesome people!

Hey guys I need some help/advice, because my XSPC D5-Vario pump which I got two days ago always runs at about 4400 RPM. I assume its number 4 or 5 on the dial. But even if i carnc it down to 1 it will always stay at that speed. So I think my pump is corrupt, am I right? If so, has anyone ever experienced XSPCs customer service? IS it possible to just send back the pump, without sending back the rest of the kit it was in? By the way I got this pump/res combo: http://www.xs-pc.com/water-pumps/d5-dual-bay-reservoirpump-combo
