Hey, so I just came back home after a one week vacation. I was in the middle of an R6 match then the game froze up. After a min of a frozen screen the game crashed. I tried to relaunch it but it crashed the moment it launched. So I tried opening chrome then the computer froze up again for around 10seconds then it kept happening 2 more times then boom black screen. I restarted my computer multiple times but it didn't help, was still getting freezes and black screens. At one point when I restarted only one of my two monitors were working. I then tried reinstalling drivers. After the installation and restarting everything was going we'll the suddenly black screen. I tried restarting but again black screen when starting up. I tried different cables and ports but nothing helped. What can I do? Specs Ryzen 5 1400 Asus Gtx 1060 6gb Corsair Vengeance RGB 16gb 2666 MHz Asus prime b350m-k Note: the monitors are detecting the signal, but it's just a black screen. All the fans in the case are spinning, even for the graphics card I booted up with another graphics card and it successfully booted so I think the problem might be with the graphics card at one point when it crashed, i got the blue screen of death with an error code: VIDEO SCHEDULER INTERNAL ERORR

hello there people from the ltt forum, ive been having some trouble lately with (i think) my gpu. specs: i5 8600k, mostly 4.0-4.1 ghz Palit GeForce GTX 970 4GB, no OC MSI z370 A-PRO 16gb ddr4, 2133mhz 500gb ssd 1,5tb hdd ACER P236H (main display), AOC 2236, samsung tv, all rated at 1080p, 60hz nvidia driver version: 425.31 (newest as of 4-14-19), but i have rolled back a month, that didnt work So i have replaced everything recently, except for the GPU, the Palit GPU is about 3-4 years old and is starting to show its age. e.g. at least once a month display failures, that go away after a few seconds, but thats not the problem right now. when i start my pc, i am greeted with the z370 startup, thats normal, what happens after that isnt. right after the z370 welcome, i have to wait a few minutes of black screens (even when i un plug every display but the main one, have tried with others as solo display). after that the pc seems to be acting normal, except for extreme stuttering and just generally being slow, especially when im watching a video on fullscreen. windowed games work, but not as they should (massive ammounts of framedrops and low fps counts) and i can forget about fullscreen gaming. even on games like Warframe, which i used to run easily at 100fps+, is not at maximum 10-20 fps. even youtube and netflix suffer from this dramatically, since watching a simple video in 1080p isnt possible with all the framedrops. if someone would be so kind to provide an answer that doesnt include getting a new gpu, i'd love to hear it kind regards, jimboza

Hello all. I have an asus k55vd from 2012 with an i5 3210m, geforce 610m, 8Gb ram (4 added by me) and a kingston ssd. I opened it up to change the thermal paste beacouse the gpu was throttling, or for whatever reason when i used the dedicated gpu the laptop shuts down instantly, no blue screen or error. After i applied the paste, i assembled the laptop back, but when powerd it, the power button lighted for 1 second and nothing happened. No fan spin, no bios logo, nothing. Any ideea how to fix it or at least why that does happened? The laptop worked fine before dissasembly, if i used the integrated gpu. Thank you.

One day I was playing the dragon dogma dark arisen and suddenly the screen turned black, the mouse and the mouse were on, but they did not respond like the windows, try to press control + alt + delete, nothing happened, either responded to the on / off button or reset, when trying to turn it on again, it lasted a few minutes and turned off, and started again on its own, the source was still working with the fan, change the ram memories , probe a 2gb machine at least lit with another 4gb passed the same, until both install the ram and remove it and reinstall, the machine finally remained on and did not go out anymore, but gave me no sign of video to the monitor with both the integrated and external gpu, probe the hard drive and it was not the problem, neither the video card, the processor I guess that should not be the problem either, my question is the motherboard, the source or the memory 4gb, what do you think, right now the machine is working but I do not know if it will bother me again with this problem. Sometimes when I'm working with my laptop, the screen suddenly goes black and then after a few seconds everything goes right. But the bigger problem is when I launch a game, some of the games just crash on launch and on some other games, screen goes black and then the blue screen of death displays. Do you think it is just because of my gpu or chipsets? Or maybe something else?

Just runinng a Unigine Heaven benchmark it's start freeze & black screen when it near the stair to the ship. I'm not overclocking my card & i can say my psu is not a problem. Cause i run a Furmark & Kombustor without a problem. When i'm gaming there is no problem too. Anyone know what's the problem here ?

Logged in to a black background with nothing but a black screen with a cmd window open. Made a new user and could log in fine into windows and worked like it should, but my main user boots into black. Executing explorer.exe "fixes" it but it's not really something i want to do every time i log in. Is this a startup registry issue? how do i fix this? EDIT: This happened the day after my malwarebytes trial ran out, and i might have some sketchy stuff on here, so most likely it's a virus

So I bought on of those cheap Chinese barebone 8th gen i5 PCs off aliexpress. For Ram I went with "Crucial CT2K4G4SFS624A 8 GB Memory Kit (4 GB x 2) (DDR4, 2400 MT/s, PC4-19200, Single Rank x16, SODIMM, 260-Pin)" as they are the highest rated on amazon And for the storage it went with "Western Digital WDS120G2G0B WD 120 GB Internal SSD M.2 SATA, Green" as they are the cheapest And Windows 10 Pro for os. -------------- After installing Windows, the pc worked flawlessly for the day. Woke up the next morning to find a black screen, switched it off then on couple of times, got the bios logo screen then straight to a black screen, no mouse cursor or anything else. After unplugging/plugging I managed to get the windows logo then it went to a blue screen that says "it looks like Windows hasn't loaded correctly" so I tried "startup repair" but it failed so I had to reinstall windows from scratch. After installing windows, I did some research on the issue and almost every solution was to install display drivers directly from Intel so I did, and again, it worked flawlessly for a few days before I woke up this morning to a black screen. have no idea what could be wrong, everything works correctly after setup, and I didn't even install any software other than the office 365. Does someone recognise this issue?

Hi all, I posted a help request yesterday in graphics cards but decided to post here too. I recently upgraded some parts in my pc, most notably the gpu. I did not use ddu to uninstall my drivers first, and I think that had an effect on what happened next. I installed my drivers through geforce experience and windows told me I needed to restart to apply changes, so I did. However, my computer never restarted from what I can tell. I get no display on my monitor of any kind, not even a motherboard splash screen so I'm not sure if my system is even posting. I tried a new monitor and cable. Same problem. I'm on AMD so no integrated graphics to try. What are my options?

Hello, 2 days ago I bought a PC with the following specifications: -Ryzen 3 2200g -Mother Gigabyte A320m S2H -4gb Ddr4 2400 -PSU Generic -120gb ssd -Windows 10 Home I turned it on and everything normal until I installed Minecraft and after 20 minutes the screen turned completely black, before that black stripes appeared for less than a second. Then I tried to play in full screen and all right, until today after playing 10 mins, Boom black screen the audio and the PC were still working, the pc is connected to a TV by hdmi I did not update any drivers or Bios, in Google Chrome I had no problems then I tried Counter Strike 1.6 and I also had no problems, the game was running at a smaller resolution. If someone has any solution, please help me very much. Sorry for the bad English and greetings from Argentina.

Hi all, Just installed a bunch of upgrades to my PC, including a GTX 1080 and an AIO. Everything was working fine, and I was going about updating all my drivers for the new GPU. I didn't use DDU before switching cards because I was switching from a 1070 and didn't think it would be a big deal. After updating through GeForce Experience I got a message from Windows telling me to restart my PC to finish setting up my card, so I did. However, it never restarted :( At least, I never saw it restart. I have been unable to get any kind of picture to show on my monitor since then, and I'm unsure if my motherboard is even posting or not. I'm on Ryzen so I have no integrated graphics, and I honestly have no idea where to go from here. If anyone has any suggestions before I try wiping my pc with a clean install of windows on a new drive, please let me know.

Hello All, I have a Dell Inspiron 17R-7720 laptop. It was working fine then one day they went to turn it on and it doesn't want to post/boot. The power light comes on, and the 3 button lights it the top left of the keyboard area light up and turn off but that is it. I get no post, no dell logo, and the screen doesn't seem to do anything. It doesn't attempt to shut off it just sits there and doesn't do anything else. Now when I hold down the D button and press the power button, the screen test comes on so I know the screen is working. I also hooked it up to a VGA and HDMI monitor but nothing. I pulled out the battery and all of the parts (hard drives, RAMS, CPU and put new thermal compound) from the laptop and still nothing. The only thing that changes is when I remove the ram, I get 2 beeps which indicates a ram issue. When I reinstall the ram, the laptop doesn't give me any beeps what so ever. The laptop had Windows 10.

Good day all! Brief Explanation Recently I pulled out an old family PC that hasn't been used in years to create a server station. Upon booting it up I saw there was lots of junk still installed and decided to do a reset. (I was able to get into the PC before resetting.) However, it failed multiple times, and after trying from an advanced startup, the computer no longer shows an image at startup. Detailed Problem Computer boots up and shows the Dell icon for a few seconds then nothing. Cursor is not visible. What I have tried Booting into safe mode by repeatedly tapping the F8 key at the Dell icon = nothing switched both monitors and outputs from the graphics card = nothing --- monitors work fine when connected to another computer and so do those inputs on said monitors Tried the integrated graphics = screen telling me not to use it Disconnected all HDDs and SSDs and was able to get into BIOS just fine. System Specs So like I said, this computer has been in my closet for a while, so here is what I could find out: Model: Dell Inspiron 3847 Specifications PDF Intel Quad Core i5 (4th Generation) Not exactly sure on the type unfortunately Chipset: Intel H81 8 GB 1600 MHz RAM via 2 DDR3 sockets Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GT 625/635/705 (once again not exactly sure) Some SSD and HDD (Once again no clue) Due to the dumbness of dell they did not connect the HDD to the computer. Thanks you in advance for your time. -Andrew

Hello! I installed a new memory module that is the same one as the old one (except the version, the old one is v3.24 and the new one is v5.21) I keep getting like ~40 beeps, it stops for a couple of seconds and then it starts again. Both of memory modules can be used separately, but can't be used in Dual-Channel. I tried running them is the following slots: (A1, B1) (A2, B2) (A1, A2) (B1, B2) (A1, B2) (A2, B1) The motherboard: Gigabyte GA-B85-HD3 The rams: Old one: Corsair DDR3 1600MHz Vengeance CML8GX3M2A1600C9 v3.24 New One: Corsair DDR3 1600MHz Vengeance CML8GX3M2A1600C9 v5.21 CPU: Intel core i3 4150

Hi, maybe someone here has an idea what is going wrong with my system. So i recently bought a Radeon RX Vega 64 "Red Devil" by PowerColor (used) to replace the GTX 980 i had before. But I have a big problem: Randomly my screen will freeze for a while, then go dark and show "no signal". After a few moments the screen will turn back on and whatever program i was using will either be stuck blank or already have shut down. Whenever the screen freezes the lights on the graphics card that indicate what state it is in, will all light up (which usually means full load) and as soon as the screen goes black the lights return to state one. Mostly when the signal comes back I get the message "Default Wattman settings have been restored due to unexpected system failure". This has happened playing games (Forza Horizon 3, Watch Dogs) and when working in Blender, Maya and Subtance Painter. But it also happened a few times when I was just using firefox. The weirdest thing is in blender for example it only ever happens whe I am working in the viewport, so not much to do for the graphics card, but when i render something it usually works fine (I even rendered a 400 frame animation yesterday with no problem). I'm also able to run Benchmarks like TimeSpy and Firestrike. I have contacted AMD support where I first got told to update my Drivers to 19.1.2 then downgrade to 18.9.3 and then update to 19.2.1. And the only thing that changed was that, since I've had the 18.9.3 Dirvers installed, the Firestrike Benchmark works, which it didn't before on 19.1.2 but it still does work on 19.2.1 So I am really confused as to what the problem seems to be, because it mostly happens very consistently under low loads but also in games. So I am very confused and frustrated, because I was really stoked for this GPU but if I can't fix this soon I might have to switch back to team green Thanks for any help or advice These are the specs of my System: OS Windows 10 Home 64-bit PSU 730W be quiet! Around 6 months ago my computer started crashing (black screen and fans turning to 100%) this continued till it didn't turn on one day. I figured out it was my motherboard that was broken and i got a new one and it worked till now (6 months after this happened first time). Same thing, again.. Black screen and fans turning to 100% (it still boots up). I did check my event viewer and it showed that dwm.exe keeps crashing and it tries to start it up again, but fails (This is what happened 6 months ago too). When i boot up my computer it says that my GPU didn't start up correcty (Can't provide picture about this because i didn't get it last time this happened). Now im thinking that this might be PSU problem, but i don't want to get a new psu if it's not what's even broken in the first place. It's probably not my GPU or MoBo because i just got new one's when this happened the first time. And i did just get a fresh install of windows so there should be no problem or viruses. Hi, I've got some weird stuff going on concerning AMD's GPU drivers... I've tried looking on the forums, there are some similar problems with the RX480, but I've found nothing that solved this particular case. I'll try to be as complete as possible. Now, I'm not a complete novice, but I'm no PC wizard either. So, any tips are welcome. First the build: CPU: A8-7600 APU with Radeon R7 integrated graphics @ 3.1 GHz (no OC) GPU: Gigabyte RX480 4G @ 1290MHz with current driver: 17.11.1 Crimson (no OC) RAM: 8 GB Hyper X Fury DDR3 MoBo: Gigabyte GA-F2A68HM-H PSU: 650W from Be quiet! Storage: 2x Sandisk Plus 250GB SSD + 2x 500GB HDD from Hitachi, but also Apple branded!? Sidenote: Both the SSD's have windows 10 installed on it. The problems persist on both versions. Case: Gigabyte GZ-X1 Windows 10 x64 Displays: LG-freesync screen connected via HDMI and some ancient square Acer monitor, connected via a Display port to DVI adapter. (This config might be relevant? I don't know) The story of how these parts came together to form this machine, has long been lost in history; idek myself, but it exists! Did I miss anything? So, what is going on with it? The current graphics driver installed is version 17.11.1 When updating the drivers, to anything since Adrenalin (version 18.xx.xx), at first everything seems fine, games run fine, nothing unusual. I tried the latest driver at the time 18.12.2 but also one of the first Adrenalin drivers released, with the same result. Untill the system reboots, then everything goes wrong. When it reboots, the windows logo shows up (On the Acer screen, not even the LG one) the dual boot menu passes, then windows logo again, and then a black screen. No login window, not even a cursor. Windows didn't seem to think the system failed to boot. Explaining everything I tried at this point, would take ages, so let me skip ahead to where it gets interesting: I learned that the black screen is not a black output, there is no output beyond the windows flag. I tried a lot of things, and it took me a while to figure this out: but the display signal doesn't stop, it jumps from the GPU to the unused output on the motherboard. So at this point, the PC is kind of useable, it's just running on the APU's graphics prowess! Which is horrible in comparison to an RX480 ofc. At this point, only installing drivers older then Adrenalin with DDU seem to get the RX480 going again. So here's the question: Why does the APU hijack the systems output, when there is an RX480 available and the latest drivers are installed? Do I need to tell the system to use the RX480 in some way? Is my RX480 simply no longer compatible with these drivers? If sow, why does AMD's software recommend me to update? TL;DR: With any driver since Adrenalin edititon, PC uses APU's graphics instead of the dedicated GPU.

Using dvi-d, my pc boots into the loading bios screen , and once starts to boot into windows, black screen/no signal-detected. However other ports like display port or HDMI works fine. It seems my dvi-d is not liking the 1920x1080 resolution, i have tried changing the cable ( dvi dual link) and it doesnt fix, i uninstalled the gpu driver and i got in to windows with dvi-d with 800x600, once i installed the driver where it automatically changes to 1920x1080, no signal detected again. Has anyone face this issue and got a solution to it? Thanks! Monitor : xl2411 GPU : Asus ROG GTX 1070ti

Hello! I'm running into the same thing lately.. When I am using my pc, my screen suddenly shuts off. The computer itself keeps providing power to all attached devices (keyboard, mouse, USB drives light up), but is unresponsive. Also, I've observed that sound doesn't stop playing immediately. When the screen goes black, whatever I'm listening to (ex Spotify), doesn't shut off, instead 10secs later it lags and freezes. Could it be a GPU problem? I cannot find any memory dumps, so I assume that this is not a BSOD. Any ideas? So I have just built my new rig, and all was going well, played a bit of anthem, got my RGB all sorted, windows was playing nice with a new hardware, and then black screen. Like my monitor had just died. Pc still running, but then all the RGB went back to default. Did a hard reset, everything turned on, then off... Then on again and then Windows booted fine. Logged in fine, RGB went back to the settings I had set up, then this time after 2 minutes top, black screen. So I reinstalled windows, thinking it must have been that moving from a intel machine to amd with what I thought was no fuss. Windows installed fine, left pc and went to work. Came home pc still running and back on windows log in screen. So I start downloading bits like Nvidia experience, battlement chrome to name a few, install some and then after about 45 minutes, back screen again. Does anyone have any ideas? Not done any overclocking, temps were all fine, but I need a starting point to troubleshoot. My build is here. https://builds.gg/builds/anthem-ryzen-7739

Hello All, I have been recently having black screen technical difficulties, specifically when I launch any kind of game. It makes my monitor say no signal, and the fans start to whirr very loudly, and then it turns back on in a minute or so. I have never had this issue before, and am inexperienced when it comes to how to fix these simple problems. I would gladly appreciate a veteran helping me out in picking new hardware or fixing this issue. I bought myself a new 144Hz monitor from Acer. I connected to an extension block which I have my other monitor running on too and it turns on fine but it won't detect the pc. I've gone to the settings and tried detecting the monitor and it couldn't. I've also looked up the drivers in Geforce Experience and it shows that I have the latest version of drivers. I've got my old monitor (one I'm using now) with HDMI and my new one with Display Port. please help fix this
