Hey all, I'm using a DAC X6 with HyperX Cloud Alphas and the sound compared to the onboard of my laptop is really bad. The X6 seems to give out almost no bass, the main vocals in songs are very quiet and the harmony voices are actually louder than anything else. Everything kind of sounds like it's got one of those concert hall sound effects on or something. When I plug the headset into the laptop directly, the sound is much better. More bass, clarity and general quality. I'm using a Lenovo Z50 with Windows 10. Just plugged the X6 into a USB port. Anybody got any ideas. Thanks in advance.

I bought one of Origin PC's custom builds for $3,100 but when it arrived (a week late) it came with damage to the paint to the top panel of the case and inside the fan grille. With the premium price tag (which was around $1,000 overpriced) I decided to return the PC. I made sure to email Origin tech team about the damage to the paint during shipping and the return. They responded. A few weeks later Origin PC refunded me $2,400 (the price I spent on the build was $3,100). That's a loss of $700 down the drain ??. Keep in mind this all happened during the 30 day money back guarantee. I'm building my own PC now but my budget is much lower due to those money hungry people. Give me your thoughts on this. Do you think there is there anything I can do? I have emailed them about the refund amount but they keep giving me BS about the paint. I even took pictures when it arrived to prove that it wasn't me. Some areas weren't even painted red (inside the grille for fans there were white patches) so that was the paint teams fault and would not be possible for me to do. In conclusion, I have decided to tell people about my experience so that they don't fall into the same trap I did. Build your own PC guys...

I've built a lot of systems... the last several builds I've been using EVGA supernova 80+ platinum power supplies... well... I have had THREE fail. When I used to buy the cheapest for necessary wattage, I never had any fail, even the cheap corsair ones. I've had 2 1000 watts fail, and most recently an 850watt, but this ones a little more interesting. I'm watching youtube of all things, I know so stressful right, and my PC just shuts off (BTW was 66 degree in the room, quite chilly, I have super fine filters on ALL intakes, corsair air 740 case so the power supply has its own damn room, AND I have 7 case fans....). Go to turn it on and only runs for a few seconds, eventually I got it to run, brought my video back up only for it to turn off 5 minutes later. So I do some googling and find out back in 2013 EVGA admitted to screwing up thermal pads (reminds me of gpu issue recently), and this was causing them to shut themselves off basicly due to overheating. Well, I found 100s of people even lots in 2016 still having the same issue, I would have opened it myself and tried to get things running cooler, but I don't want to void the warranty, so I took my air blaster (what I call it), put it to the back of the psu, and whala, it works. Typing this right now on the same system although I can't hear anything due to the sound of a jet engine. Yes, I tried booting without massive airflow after the successful run, and it shut down after about 10 seconds. Might glue a damn noctua IPPC fan on the back of it as exhaust.... What I'm using to get the airflow: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00S7CH6FK/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Surge protectors I use: https://www.amazon.com/Tripp-Lite-Protector-INSURANCE-SUPER7B/dp/B00AAHT8AQ/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1510886324&sr=8-6&keywords=tripp+lite+surge+protector&dpID=312BuLFAcfL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch Edit: Anyone have a recommendation on PSU with PROVEN reliability? Tier 1 is cool and all but these EVGA p2's are tier one and yeah... screw em... Update for the people tripping over themselves seeing EVGA cast in a negative light and don't want to read the thread: To kind of wrap this up, I don't hate EVGA or anything, and their PSUs should be very high quality, they even feel solid, have great warranties, quality components etc. However, until a few years ago I focused on building budget systems, so obviously high end PSU was out of the question. And not a single one failed, I mostly bought corsair CX600 which are what tier 4? Fast forward to high end systems, did some research, went with EVGA, took pride in using them. But one broke, whatever it happens. Another broke, hmmm..... And now another one, I'm done lol... for now 3 strikes your out right? I'm sure I'll revisit them one day, but when I had a flawless track record with cheap PSUs I mean... what else can I think... With that being said I'm still going to use tier 1, just another brand. If 3 years goes by and no issues, I'll stick with them, if it is the same deal all over again then back to the drawing board. Maybe luck, maybe an oversight, maybe 1% of 100 different factors that added up to something failing in a silly way, who knows.

Hello, I've noticed that my blue snowball ice is sounding very quiet, muddy, and soft recently. I purchased this in July 2017 and for some reason, the audio sounds AWFUL. I don't know what is causing this but even after changing the cable, nothing happened. I need this problem fixed as I do youtube and I have to record a voiceover for my video. I've uploaded a file that shows you the audio quality of the microphone. untitled.mp3

I have for the last couple months been dealing with an issue that has baffled not only me but Nvidia as well and Microsoft. Every game I play has terrible graphics quality including textures, no ambient occlusion, jagged edges, washed out colors etc. I am not only having this issue with my PC but another PC I also use. 1st PC - Asus maximus ix formula. - asus 1080 Ti strix OC. - 32 GB corsair vengeance rgb. - evga supernova G3 750w. - i7 7700K. - Windows 10 Home. 2nd PC - Asus maximus vii formula. - x2 Titan X sli (original titans). - 16 GB ripjaw. - Corsair 1000w. - i7 4790K. - Windows 10 Home. Now the things I have tried so far (Seems to be everything) - Reinstalled windows 10 numerous times. - Reinstalled Nvidia drivers numerous times. - Uninstalled all drivers using DDU numerous times. - Ran all windows 10 command Prompt checks (using administrator). - Installed numerous (older) Nvidia drivers. - Removed GPU and tried (5) different GPU's (Same visual issue with all). - Ran numerous anti-virus programs (I have no viruses but thought I would check anyway). - Called Nvidia who in the end blamed Microsoft and told me to call them. - Called Microsoft who in the end blamed Nvidia and told me to call them. ( Who would have though, right?) - Tried a 3440x1440 ultra wide monitor, 1920x1080 monitor and a 4K monitor, (No dice). - My Windows account is in administrator as well. - Trouble shooted everyting in windows troubleshooter. - Both PC's have new SSD's put in after issue occurred. I have no clue what to do at this point. Games run just fine like always but the graphics are terrible, change them all to ultra and looks as if nothing changed? I have been told "You're GPU could be bad", "Your motherboard could be bad". Funny thing is that both PC's started doing that at the same time, different components. The only things I can remember doing is trying out a new monitor, Windows updates, swapping out SSD's. My main PC, When I first noticed this I pulled out the SSD and put it in my other PC that didn't have an SSD yet, (was still in the process of being shipped) Just to see that my other PC doesn't have this issue, I was wrong! It was now showing the same terrible graphics as my main PC. I thought maybe the SSD was bad so I bought 2 new SSD's and installed them in both PC's and the problem still exists. I am at a loss for words..... If anybody has ANY idea what in the hell could be going on here, It would be a blessing!

This is something that the Fractal fanboys will roast me for it, but I need to say this. So in my quest to find the balance between good temps and low noise in my Fractal Design R6 case, I realized that I never did one test to actually determine the correct settings. So last week I decided to set the case fans at 100% all the time to see just what difference that would make on the temps for the CPU, VRM and GPU. Because before that what I did was set the fans to run all the time at the lowest rpm that they would run at and through the bios set a fan curve so they can ramp up when temps get too high. I was trying to find the balance between noise and temps. That's why I even bought this case because I wanted silence. I even bought an a completely unnecessary overpowered power supply just to make sure I have silence so the fan won't turn on at idle. Anyway the fans that come with the case are the Dyncamics X2-GP14. So I decided to set the fans at 100% because I realized I never tested what would the best temps be if the fans of the case run at 100%. So I did and what I discovered blow me away pun intended. It made basically no difference at all. I saw a 2 degree difference, that's it. So I opened the panel and decided to put my hand behind the fan to see how much air they push. I felt nothing. They are completely pointless. The fans were running at 1000rpm and they might've been turned off and it would've been the same. It would've been better if I took them off and stuck my head in the front of the case and blow that would actually lower the temps. Not even blowing is required, just a breathing. Even the act of breathing would push more air than those fans. I know very well Fractal fans are going to attack me, I don't care so far I've had too many issues with my purchase and it pissed me off. I was a fan of this company, but not anymore. The more time I spent with my R6, the more I find things about it that are crap. I've spent 170$ with tax on it and regret every single dollar.

I bought this just over a year ago on Black Friday 2018 and I didn’t know what to buy or what different parts did what do I bought a terrible pc for around 1000 usd from Lenovo. I have a core i5-8400, a 1060 gpu, 8gb ram (16 max), only exhaust airflow, very lame case with >*[RED]*< as the only lighting option... I also have a monitor from Lenovo for around 200 usd which is 1080p and supposedly 60hz but it reaches 75hz. The only good things about my system is: 1. It has a robust handle. 2. Cable management. Worst part of all is the lack of upgrading available. Oh, also... the newer model has an i5-9400 with an RTX 2060 for like 1100 usd. It was around 850 usd on Black Friday. I regret not building my own or doing research... thank you for coming to my half past 11 ted talk

First of all, yes I have used this tool and it has changed nothing. The problem is as follows: When trying to open any folder on the drive it takes about a second or two. But when trying to open a game via steam it fails to do so completely. Any other programms, like a diagnose tool, mostly hang up or crash when trying to access drive Also the command chkdsk estimates 999h when trying to use I also tried using a different SATA port, no difference at all After doing an Error Scan this comes up: Just a few days ago, the screen showed me this: (Let me know if you need SMART values, but there was nothing critical, as far as I am concerned) Is there any way of fixing this issue, or should I start saving up for a 1tb ssd? RIG INFORMATION: - Windows 10 64-bit - the affected drive is a 1tb SSHD by seagate (you can also see the model in the screenshots) - other drives: 200gb 850 evo, 2 tb seagate hdd (behaving completely normal) - X99-A USB3.1 rocking an i7 5820k @4,00Ghz, cooled by a Noctua NH-D14 and 16 Gb of HyperX fury - gtx 980 and an evga 850 g2 psu

I have had this issue where I get horrible performance in the same game. For example, in Overwatch I get about 130FPS when everything is working right, but sometimes when I start the PC it is 65 FPS. The temporary solution is just to restart the PC. It is important to note that the issue is for ALL games. Could it be the bad VRAM of the GTX 970? What else could it be? i7 4790k Asus Z97-AR 8GB of Ram @ 1600hz GTX 970 (now GTX 1070) Note: I recently got a GTX 1070, I'm seeing if that fixed it.

So i have a video camera that records at around 25 fps at 1080p. I am recording footage for sports coursework and so i need to edit it down into all my best moments. When i put the files onto my PC and open them with the inbuilt film/tv player with windows 10 they are in great quality, no problems. But i cannot do any ediiting or merging of all the clips as it is just a player, not editing software. However i am using davinci resolve to edit and when i open the clips in this software they appear to have lines across the footage and make it look slightly distorted and not the 1080p it was before. Just wondering if anyone has any advice or has come across the problem before? The files are in MTS if that helps. Thanks and any help is much appreciated.

So I recently wanted to try some cookie crisps but when I bought it and ate some it tasted like trash. Not even like cookies. Let me put this in perspective, If my youtube channel were a cereal it would be equally as bad as Cookie Crisps

So I bought the motherboard I'm currently using a while ago, and also bought a powerline adapter for it, because it has no built-in wifi. This worked terribly for me; had very poor speeds and was stuttery and inconsistent. Taking the advice of this forum, I bought a PCIe wifi card, specifically this one. When I first started using it, it was only slightly less jittery and inconsistent, so I started this thread. Someone very helpful explained to me how to reinstall the driver for the wifi card in Windows 8.1 comparability mode, because apparently TP-Link doesn't support Windows 10 on this card, which I'm running. That helped quite a bit. Speeds are vastly improved, but jitters remain. When in a game, I will basically completely disconnect and everything will freeze for about half a second, once every thirty seconds or so. What's odd is that this only happens sometimes, and it doesn't seem to affect video streaming or even live streaming to Twitch at all. Is there anything else I can try? Is it possible that my motherboard could be causing these jitters to happen with multiple devices? Or is my adapter just a bad product which I should return? Thanks.

Please help me! I recently just upgraded my pc from an I-5 processor to an I-7 6700k unlocked cpu, also upgraded my motherboard to the Asus h170, Ram from DDR3 G skill 8GB (2sticks) to Hyper x DDR4 16GB (2 stick), also a new Cpu cooler- H212 evo i think cant remember and finally added a SSD (120Gb Kingston 2.5 ssd). i just booted up my pc and wanted to get to editing a video from a trip i took recently, and when editing things are fine but as soon as i try to play it for the first time it starts and stop the video constantly and i am unable to make it stop unless i close Sony Vegas. i downloaded movie maker and tried but the same thing happens. Youtube videos are fine however but as soon as its a player on my pc it doesnt work. For Ex. if i have a video file on my desktop(or anywhere on my pc) and go to play it, the video rapidly starts and stops with me not touching anything. I know for sure that its not my keyboard because youtube videos are just fine. I'm at work right now and one of our HP Pavilion 15-p000 laptops is detecting too many external monitors. I have one monitor plugged in but it is detecting 3, when it should detect 2. Programs are opening into that fake monitor and they (coworkers) don't know about windows+arrow keys to move the windows around. Even when I unplug the monitor the fake one is still there. Does anybody know what is wrong or how to fix it?

The crowd funded project " Ampy" has been a bitter disappointment to backers. Some have called it Or The "Ampy" was meant to be a battery bank that would charge via motion. The way it would achieve this is by internals magnets that would create a current to store energy. Although the battery could also be charged via plug, the Kinect charging has been its strongest selling point but its terrible! :I seems that was a lie however: This means that you'd most likely die by exhaustion before getting your phone fully charged. IT JUST ISN'T WORTH IT!! Original Link: BBC NEWS

I'm running a 3570k Ivy Bridge with a Cooler Master Seidon 240M and a set of Antec Truequiet fans at Max and at around 75% load playing the division with a stream running ive gotten temps between 80-90 degrees so im leaning towards getting some new thermal compound and trying to remount it but am not sure if it's just running that hot because of load. Idle is around 35-40 and when the system is under load it has crashed on numerous occasions.

Hello my friends! Why does everyone seems to hate USB microphones ? I was think about getting AT2020 or BlueYeti [USB editions], but after reading some stuff i am not sure what to get at all. Is the audio-quality between USB and XLR connection that noticeable? What are your recommendations on me for what Model microphone i should go and what connection also? [ Just for more info: I am pure amateur, just want to get good quality microphone for everyday usage and sometimes to sing on it without any background noise or anything at all, all i want is crystal clear voice of myself. I got so tired of cheap microphones that's the real reason i want to switch to something more professional and durable over the years] Thanks in advance, best of luck!

Hello friends, today i got my NZXT H440 case and X61 Kraken cooler and i am very happy! My question is can anyone share his personal experience with me about shopping on Mindfactory.de, because i am gonna purchase 80% of the other parts from it. Most people from geizhals.eu write positive feedback/comments about it, but of course there are some that write things which make me really confused. Thank you in advance,Best of luck! - Redjo
