Hi there! I have read a whole lot of different answers to this on various forums, even LTT forums ... wondering once and for all: Will a PCIe Gen. 3 x4 slot bottleneck a single GTX 1080 or other high-end graphics card? (Single card, not SLI) Thank you! Lucas

Hi I plan on doing a 980ti 4 way sli on a ud3 x99 motherboard equipped with my 5930k. The question is, could different models of 980ti work together? I know it would, but what about the sli bridge? Thanks, SirFlamenco

ok so i found a 980TI for ~$200 and i was wondering if i should get it or just do as i planed and save up untill after the summer and then do a compleate redo of my main PC and then sell of the parts and the LAN PC to finance either more of my main PC or the Toaster project. My goal with the new PC would be either 1440p ~75Hz gameing or 1080p ~150Hz gameing and a full custom loop so i was wondering how viable a 980TI would be with that as the goal here. the card is an EVGA SC with from what i can tell reference PCB and cooler(if i get it my Accellero TwinTurbo III is going on it for now). basically, can a refence 980TI do 1440p ~75Hz / 1080p ~150Hz and is it worth it for about $200 or should i pass, wait and save up untill after this summer to get a full overhaul of my PC?

Hey all, Wondering how much (in Canadian Dollars) I can expect to pick up a used 980ti for in a few months after the 1080ti is made available. Specifically a high end one like the EVGA 980ti Hybrid. Also is eBay the best place to pick up used graphics cards for fair prices? If not, where? Thanks! Lucas

Hey peeps, I am currently specking up my 900D with watercoling gear. I currently have waterblocks on the 5820k, the 2 980ti classifieds, motherboard mosfets and chipset. I am going to install a 480 on the top, another 480 in the basement and an existing 280 behind the 480 in the basement (might be hard as I have a new power supply that is longer coming: AX1500i). All this leaves me with the remains of my old predator 360, which has the attatched ddc pump and 360mm radiator. I have nowhere to put it so I was thinking of modding the case and make a new mount for the 360 rad inside (I have sortof found a place for it). But is it all worth the pain and hassle? is my other cooling setup enough or do I need this extra 360 rad. Pease help I am getting conflicting answers from everywhere. Specs to cool: i7 5820k @ 4.5Ghz 1.225V: supremacy evo plexi GTX 980ti Classified x2 1520/8000 MHz: gtx 780classy X99 chipset: RVE block Rampage V extreme VRM and mosfets: RVE block All waterblocks are manufactured by EK waterblocks as are all the fittings and radiators Coolers used: Dual D5 pumps, series one bay res and an X3 res EK XE480 radiators x2 EK CE280 radiarot Noctua NF-F12 or NF-A14 wherever required Additional part: Remainder of a predator 360 without the cpu block. - 360 radiaror -3x Vardar fans -ddc pump of some sort -fan and pump controller built in So far I was using the frankenstein predator with an extra 280 in the loop to cool my components but my CPU got in the high 80s under load which is weird as I have it running quite low on voltage . Hey peeps, I currently have a setup with a 5820k and 980ti classified SLI. I am using the stock ROG hard sli bridge that came with my motherboard which looks a little shitty in my build. I wanted to get one of them fancy EVGA HB bridges to spruce up the GPUs a little bit. so: 1) Will a HB bridge work with my 980ti classifieds? 2) Will there be any performance gains for the 980tis? 3) Should I just get one of the regular non HB EVGA bridges for half the price? In Australia the price for the HB bridge is $69 whilst the price of the non HB ones is ~$30 Cheers in advance, ~GabeN

I put my 980ti in my new rig and am currently in the process of overclocking it. When I use the settings I used with my old rig, benchmarks crash. Ive had to drop my settings a bit in msi afterburner to be able to complete the benchmarks. Any reason why this may be happening?

Hey guys, I'm hoping someone can help me because I'm pretty stumped on this issue. I've done a fresh install of windows 10 x64 pro on my corsair XT neutron SSD card, it installed fine, and works fine on the onboard gpu. However, once I try to install my nvidia evga 980 TI that is where the problems start. I install the card, and upon starting the machine, the spinning circle just stops about a quarter way and hangs indefinately. Ok, so I'm thinking its a driver issue, need to install the driver first right? Well, can't do that because once I try, it goes through the whole install and then tells me it cannot locate the product on the machine. I have minimum devices plugged in as far as usb devices go, keyboard and mouse. I don't know what to do next, but any help or fix would be appreciated. p.s. The 980 TI works perfectly fine on my other hard drive that has Windows 7 x64 Pro. I am trying to decide which graphics card is better for 4k video editing in Adobe Premiere and some After Effects. More specifically I will be making music videos with multiple effects including chroma keying. I am in the process of getting all the parts together to build a computer purely for video editing is it worth getting the 980ti (ASUS ROG MATRIX) or a 1070 (not sure which model) as both are around the same price on ebay in the UK . Alternatively would it be worth it just to get a 1060 or RX480 for less? My goal is to edit 4k in full quality in real time using one 1080p monitor and one 2160p monitor for the preview video. I know the 980ti has more cuda cores and possibly a higher IPC? The parts I have so far are: Ryzen 1700 (I plan on overclocking it with the cooler it came with) ASUS Prime B350M-A AMD ATX Motherboard Adata XPG 32gb 2 x 16 DDR4 ram 2800Mhz PC4-22400 memory I have yet to get the rest of the components, I will get a power supply depending on the graphics card and I plan on getting a silent case and SSDs. Any advice will be greatly appreciated, I don't play video games and I am using it purely for video editing.

Hi guys - I'm an admitted newbie and only build my rig last year after hesitating for many years. Basic specs are below:GPU: Gigabyte 980TI G1CPU: 6700KMotherboard: Asus Maximus VIII GeneRAM: G.SKILL TridentZ Series 16GB 3200PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 220-P2-0750OS: Windows 10Description of Problem:When I first built this machine I ran 3DMark FireStrike and got about 15,000. Graphics score was 19,122. Recently after installing the Windows Creators' Update, I decided to give it another go and to my surprise/dismay, my new score is 9,500. Graphics score was 10,760 - while the Physics Score remain unchanged.(I attached the comparison here) I suspected it was bad drivers, so I did the due diligence with DDU/reinstall.To my horror - it didn't change. So I ran more benchmarks while logging with GPU-ZSensor. Cleared my CMOS, removed the GPU (verified it was clean), updated BIOs. A day later, I've come to the conclusion there's something wrong with my GPU or setup and I can't isolate it? The GPU does not seem to be running at max clock despite 100% load & no heat issues? I humbly beg for your expertise! GPU-ZSensorLog.txt GPU-ZSensorLog2.txt

Will a zotac 980ti Amp extreme edition (the one with 3 fans) video card fit inside a node 202?

You can see my full build in my signature: CPU - I5 6500 (locked) GPU - 980 ti strix (default or increased power limit + increased fan speed) Monitor - 1980x1080 144hz For some reason my gpu usage is around 30% (unlock frames no vsync) and my cpu usage is around 100%. It was perfectly fine with both (cpu and gpu) a few days ago (don't remember the stats though). I have newest driver 381.89 and my previous driver was 381.59 (i think) I'll give more info and/or picture if needed later. Overwatch is on performance mode in power management settings. In game settings are 75% everything on low (I want as much fps as possible but I will occasionally use the limit fps to refresh rate option which is not vsync). Update: I get about 130 to 150 fps with lowest settings 75% render scale with nvidia power management on performance and single gpu display option everything else is default.

Okay, prepare for a wall of text. Okay, the problem arose when I was last using my GPU and I didn't notice this at the start. I was playing a GPU Intensive game (GTA V) and played for about 2 hours noticing nothing; Then I took my headset off and heard a loud but annoying rattling sound obviously not hearing it before because HyperX Cloud II dank sound-intrusion protection or whatever the heck it's called. I investigated all the fans that control air flow taking out standoffs and everything none of whom were the reason for the noise, I took one last look underneath and saw that my middle GPU Fan was spinning slightly slower than the other 2. I took it out and investigated. I span the 1,2,3 gpu fans and the 2nd one (middle one) was getting caught on something ever-so slightly on the back tri-screw bay which I assume attaches the fan to the heatsink. The bumped up parts of the fan were getting caught on the plastic and the screw and wouldn't go any tighter no matter how hard I tried. I didn't try with an extremely small screwdriver however. After this I turned on my PC and it was idling fine but as soon as I go into my game and the other fans start spinning it begins rattling again. I can show pictures and videos below showing where the point of contact and the noise it makes. If any of you can help me it would be brilliantly appreciated and will save me going out to buy a replacement gpu from my local computer store. video-1494094916.mp4 Click to download and listen carefully.

Hi guys I'm thinking of upgrading my PC and I was originally going to upgrade my CPU, but there isn't really anything that makes me feel like I really want to upgrade from my i5 4690k. I was thinking or changing to an i7 7700k, but this would also mean changing MB and RAM. I then thought about upgrading my GPU to a 1080ti, but decided I would wait and have instead thought about upgrading from one 980ti to sli. I'm just looking for some advice on which would be a better upgrade performance in games like Arma, ARK, Witcher 3, and just in general. Thanks in advance for replies. Current System: GPU: 980ti x1 CPU: Intel i5 4690K Possible Upgrade: GPU: 980ti 2 way sli or CPU: Intel i7 7700K

I just purchased a 980ti off someone who ran two in SLI who is upgrading to a 1080ti, for $350 Canadian pessos and am wonder what specs and overclocks others here have reached. Mine is a EVGA acx 2.0+ superclocked ASIC quality is 74.5% Bosts to just over 1500MHz @ +87mv The memory overclocked to 4070MHz The card also stays between 60 and 70 degrees at load. I was going to purchase a 1070 but then this card came along, i grabbed the bottom card out of the SLI configuration the guy had. What speeds have you guys reached with a 980ti?

Hi guys, I'm looking to upgrade my Sapphire 7970 Dual x. I'm still rocking 1080p, the 7970 is doing quite fine, but it's starting to show its age. FYI, I have an i5-4670k on a Z87-D3HP. Now, I've narrowed it down to the 980ti, 1070 and FuryX, All 3 of them are around the 450 euro mark(including shipping). As games are becomig more demanding, I think that none of the above cards are "overkill" for 1080p, and I like a bit of future-proofing. Now, do you think that thr 4GB vram of the fury be a bottleneck? Since HBM is more efficient on higher resolutions(correct me if i am wrong). The 6GB/8GB of the 980ti/1070 is enough i believe, but what are your thoughts between the 2? Help me decide between the 3 please, unless there's another card that you believe it suits me better! Thanks, AJ. PS: Not really related to the above, but I'm also moving my pc into a computer desk, similar to the one Linus is currently building, let me know what you think of it(see attached photo)

Hi All. My reference 980Ti has developed an issue with HDMI. I turned my PC on one day to find that it no longer output via HDMI. The TV I'm outputting to identifies the active HDMI port but states there is no output through it. The cable is fine, my laptop can output a signal to the TV through it, so that's not the issue. But my PC can't find the TV within the Nvidia control panel when it's plugged into it. Additionally, when my PC is only connected to the TV and the Display Port is disconnected the PC won't boot - or at least it didn't last time i tried... Any suggestions? It doesn't effect my normal PC use and gaming (no issues with performance) but it's annoying because I can't play movies and such on my main TV... Background: I usually have my PC outputting through display port to my main monitor for general computer use and gaming. But, when I want to watch Netflix or movies I output through HDMI (via a 10m cable) to my TV.

Hey. I currently have a 980Ti reference card from ASUS in my rig that runs pretty much anything VR-related (or not) that I've tried so far. I was wondering if you guys have any idea just how much of an improvement in framerates I could get from a 1070 in VR titles? I know that outside of VR they are almost identical in performance, but with the 1070 being VR-ready I have heard it supports new features that can have a great impact on performance. I've managed to get a hold of a guy who might trade his 1070 STRIX OC card for mine, with a bit of extra cash on my side of course. We're talking somewhere between 50-100 USD. (TL;DR How much better are 1xxx-series *at VR*? Is trading a 980Ti+$100 for a STRIX 1070 worth it?)
