Hey guys, I'm looking to build a pc with an i7 8700k and 1070ti or 1080ti, which you would be the better option, would the 1080ti be worth it for the money or would the 1070ti be just fine? Thanks, Josh

Id like to disassemble my 1080ti to apply some aftermarket thermal paste, but im not sure whether I can just pull the heatsink off and apply new paste and stick it back together as I know some cards have thermal pads and things and im not sure whether you have to replace the thermal pad with a new one once its been peeled off like with thermal paste or if I can just stick the pad back on and it will be fine, also are there any pitfalls I should be aware of when tearing the card down and also any advice you guys might have.

Hi There Everything. Was hoping someone might be able to assist. I bought a Palit 1080ti a few weeks ago. Tested it on Superposition and results are correct as per a 1080ti. The problem is some of the games im getting terrible frame-rate as to what videos iv seen. The 2 main games are Far Cry New Dawn, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Other games like Metro Exodus run perfect with high frame-rates that i see on benchmark videos. If someone has any idea why i would much appreciate it. All games running 1080p. Far Cry Results - 86fps (Ultra) Shadow - 90fps (Ultra) Videos i see online are getting in the 100s with a 1080ti and also a Ryzen 5 CPU. PC Specs Below. Hello I’m planning to upgrade my gpu to a gtx 1080ti or a rx 5700 tx, I looked at benchmarks and they deliver around the same performance. I can get the 1080ti for 100 euros cheaper than the rx 5700 tx but the gtx 1080ti is a few years older. So which one should I buy?

Understanding frame rates, displayports and kvm switches
Sleroy0714 posted a topic in Graphics Cards
I started looking in kvm switches and had a hard time finding one that has a through put that works with my monitors' 165hz frame rate. I found a kvm switch with a display ports having version 1.4. Also realized my GPU has a displayport version 1.4. With a bit of research display port v 1.4 at dual 2560x1440p monitors resolution achieves 144hz and not 165hz as they're capable. What I don't get is even a titan rtx and the best quadro rtx have display port v 1.4. Does that mean no card is even capable of using over 144hz on dual 2560x1440p monitors. Is the higher frame rate utilized or achieved with gsync, the bandwidth or some other factor of the cards? I'm currently running dual EVGA 1080 ti FTW3 cards slightly OC both using EK water blocks on a custom loop. I'm looking at purchasing a connectpro UDP2-14AP-KIT (https://connectpro.com/product/udp2-14ap-kit-4-port-usb-dual-displayport-kvm-switch/) Would I be able to run that kvm switch and achieve 165hz if I'm actually achieving my desired resolution before installing it? -
Hi everyone, With the release of the 2070 Super I am considering upgrading to be able to get the most out of my 1440p 144hz monitor. I am currently in doubt between getting a 2070 Super or a used 1080 ti, since their used prices are quite attractive and the 2070 Super (not to mention the 2080 (Super)) prices are ridiculously inflated where I live. A used 1080 ti is about half to two-thirds of the price of a new 2070 Super in my country. So, what are your thoughts about about both cards? What are the benefits of one over the other?

So I recently moved my gaming PC into my unraid server and sold off the extra parts. I've had way more performance degradation than I expected in games. The old system was a 8600k with 16gb of ddr4 3200 ram. My VM has an Intel 660p nvme ssd, 1080ti, and usb 3.0 expansion card passed through with 6 physical cores of a 2920x and 16gb of ram assigned. Playing at 1440p I went from ~100fps to ~80fps on ffxiv. It'll dip down into the 30fps range in congested areas. Destiny 2 took a similar hit going from a steady 120+fps to barely holding 60. Which seems extreme from what I've experienced in the past. What I'm wondering is if this is to be expected switching from bare metal to vitalization or is it compounded by the change in CPU also? Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Hey, this is my first post on this forum and i think i might have a severe problem with my GPU. So first things first my system: CPU: Intel i9-9900k GPU: Zotac GTX 1080Ti ArticStorm MoBo: Asus Maximus X Formula RAM: 32GB DDR4 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance CPU, VRMs and GPU are watercooled Now when playing high demanding games like BFV, HITMAN2 or even GTAV, heck everything i tested thats not CS:GO or modded Minecraft crashed at somepoint. Some games earlier than others. First I thought ok that might be a driver problem so i rolled back just to version 431.60 which is the previous version i had installed. Then i played some more games but it still keeps crashing. Furthermore i tried running 3DMark which finished one out of 4 times [3DMark result]. After that today after yet another crash in Ghost Recon Breakpoint, i used FurMark and MSI Afterburner to reduced the GPU Frequency to find a "stable" setup. The first run crashed after like 2min and then i set the frequency to -130 MHz which resulted in a like 7min not supervised run. After i came back to the PC and saw this and the pc was hard locked. I'd like to hear your ideas whether this is a fixable issue or should i get a replacement gpu?

Hi There Everyone. I was hoping someone would be able to help me. I recently Purchased a Palit Super Jetstream 1080ti at a very good price. But, im noticing that im not seeing the performance i would expect or what im seeing on YouTube and everywhere. I have made sure it is not my PSU as iv attached a 1000w and still the same thing. Im getting on Shadow of the Tomb Raider 90 Ave FPS. Far Cry New Dawn getting 101 FPS Im leaning toward the fact that its my CPU that isn't fast enough for my GPU. If thee is anyone that could help me to answer if this might be the case, I cannot really just put in a new CPU to test that is also my issue. Specs of PC below. CPU: - Ryzen 5 2600 MBD: - Asrock X470 Fatality Gaming K4 GPU: - Palit 1080TI HDD: - HP NVMe 250GB Display: - 55" TV 60Hz 1080P Sorry if this is in the Wrong Section, Wasn't sure if would go for CPU or GPU...

Hello everyone,I just bought an open box Gigabyte 1080 ti Gaming OC ( N108TGAMINGOC11 ) from Micro Center for a really good price. Instantly I noticed 1 of the 3 fans is not working properly.- I requested RMA immediately. Product was registered in 2017 by first owner. Currently 10 Months left on the warranty according to Gigabyte website warranty check. Waiting for Gigabyte to approve my RMA request.- Product shows heavy signs of use. Marks on the PCB (there is no backplate), paint on the GPU shroud and dirt inside the heatsink. It seems like it was used in an open bench system. Maybe in a mining system. I am surprised Micro Center accepted this return after 2 years (?), I am not sure.My concern is this product may be altered. What if Gigabyte refuses to fix it because previous user did something to it that causes warranty to void. Gigabyte takes more than 30 days to return the product back to me. Micro center return policy is 30 days and it started 2 days ago.I really don't want to return the product but it must be fixed. What should I do?

Hi Everyone. Would just like to know if someone know a good way to know if your CPU will be bottlenecking your GPU? At the moment my CPU is sitting under 50% on most games. But not sure of thats the case. Running a Ryzen 5 2600 with a Palit 1080ti super jetstream

I'm running a i7-9700K with a Asus ROG Strix Z390-F paired with a 1080Ti Zotac Amp Extreme One day my display freeze for a good .5 - 1 second then resumed operation, For once i thought i had overclocked my Cpu to a unstable State(though this might be the case, and the GPU might not have cause this) As i was dialing back the numbers i coincidentally when into my Gpu information and i saw that my GPU is running on x4 Native, correct me if i'm wrong when i plug in my GPU on PCI-E 1 i should run on x16 why is it running on x4? need help on this

Would it be worth getting a 2080ti with this build or would I have to upgrade cpu, mobo and ram to get its worth out of it? My whole build for reference: MSI MAG Z390 Tomahawk ASUS GTX1080ti FE PCB fitted to a MSI Corsair Hydro X AIO Hybrid watercooling shroud i5 9600k 16GB DDR4 3000MHz RAM Corsair TX850M PSU Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 CPU Cooler Adata XPG SX8200 Pro NVMe M.2 1TB Crucial NVMe M.2 1TB Phanteks Eclipse P600S Be Quiet! Angel Wings Case Fans AOC Curved 2560x1440p 144hz 1ms on G-Sync Monitor Corsair Ironclaw RGB Mouse Razer Deathstalker RGB Keyboard Basically, will my CPU be a bottleneck? and if I upgrade the CPU would an i7 9700k be fine or would I see more gain out of an i9 9900k? If I do have to upgrade CPU would my mobo cut it? If the ram becomes a bottleneck would I just need faster ram or 32gb?

Hey guys, so I have this MSI GTX 1080Ti founders edition card... its a blower style card and from my understanding not the best cooler design (even though that's not what I was told when I bought it). When I'm mid session playing pubg, apex, or fortnite the I get a warning from CAM software that my card has hit 83 Celsius and prolonged exposure can damage my card. My questions are: - What should the temp limit be set at? - What is safe operating temp? - Should I have the fan at 100% all the time? -Are there other cooling options that won't void a warranty? Any input is appreciated, thanks fellas

How would the 1080ti (MSI GTX 1080 ti Gaming X Trio) perform with a triple 27" 1440p monitor setup? The resolution would be 7680 x 1440 I wont be playing any competitive games in that setup, it'll be mostly older games like Skyrim Legenday Edition (Heavily Modded) Metro redux NFS MW 2012 NFS Rivals, Mass effect 1, 2, 3 The Bureau - XCOM Declassified XCom EU With Long War Mod State Of Decay 1, 2 The Amazing Spider Man 1, 2 Spider Man Shattered Dimensions Spider Man Web Of Shadows Borderlands 1, 2 Crysis 1, 2, 3 Dead Space 1, 2, 3 Wolfenstein - The New Order Darksiders 1, 2 (3 maybe idk) Dawn of War Dark Crusade and Soulstorm Dungeon Siege 1, 2 Bulletstorm Deadpool Divine Divinity and its series Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning Lichdom Battlemage Shadowrun Dragon Fall, Hong kong Singularity The Sims 4 Torchlight 1, 2 Warhammer 40.000 - Space Marine YAIBA - Ninja Gaiden Z Dragon Ball - Xenoverse 1, 2 Dragon Age 1, 2, 3 Dragon's Dogma - Dark Arisen Dying Light Enemy Territory Quake Wars Fallout 3 Gears Of War 1 Ghost Recon - Future Soldier Halo 1, 2 Left 4 Dead 1, 2 Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1, 2 X-Men Legends 2 - Metal Gear Solid V - The Phantom Pain NieR - Automata Pillars of Eternity Rocket League Silver Fall Sniper Elite 1, 2, 3 Sins Of A Solar Empire - Rebellion (With Mods) Space Hulk Death Wing Zoo Tycoon 2 Burnout Paradise Prototype Well sorry for the long list of games but you get the gist of things, am sure i've missed a lot more games that i'd like to play but yea these are the kinda games i'd want to play on my triple monitor setup. I currently have 1x 24" 1080p @ 60hz monitor 1x 27" 1440p GSync @ 165 hz monitor I use the Gsync one when playing competitive games like Planetside 2 Paladins Renegade X Mech Warriors Living Legends and i will keep using it as my main monitor for all competitive gaming, its just i'd switch to the triple monitor setup when playing games that needs immersion as I really dont care about the FPS in such games as long as they are above 30 FPS (i prefer eye candy in these games), i just want to know how the card will perform and if its even worth it, please do note that, I've never played on a triple monitor or even a dual monitor setup so i have zero experience but i do have a 55" 4k Samsung TV that i play my games on from the couch when i want more relaxed gaming. Thank you

I bought an aorus 1080 ti in 2018 and since then I had problems with it's performance.I have a 1080p 75hz monitor(I know a 1080 ti is overkill for it but I will change it soon) and for example in GTA 5 I have about 60-70 fps with grass on medium and everything else on ultra. In rainbow six siege,on ultra,I have 100 fps while I see others have 200 and my friend is having the same framerate but with a 1070 instead.Same thing in fortnite and battlefield(just tested it as i'm writing this). It feels like i have performance of a 1070 in the price of a 1080 ti:/ I updated the nvidia drivers, the bios, checked all cables and searched on the internet but I cant find reliable answers so i decided to post this here. As a last resort I think i can send the gpu back. Please,i need an answer,I'm addicted:) My PC specs are the following: Gpu-Aorus gtx 1080 ti Cpu-Ryzen 7 2700X Mobo-Aorus X470 gaming 5 Ram-16 gb of corsair vengeance Psu-Corsair tx-m 650 watt 80 plus gold Monitor- Acer KG251Qbmiix

Found this graph on Nvidia's page for the RTX 2080 Super, with them releasing the MSRP for the FE 2080 Super at $699 I think that if this graph is correct we might actually have an RTX card for those of us with 1080ti's to upgrade to without breaking the bank. The regular RTX 2080 was pretty much equal to the 1080ti, at most about a 3% increase in performance in the uses where the 2080 beat the 1080ti but judging from this graph we might actually get a performance increase worthy enough to justify selling the old 1080ti and picking one of these cards up, especially if you have one of the high end 1080ti's that can still go for up to $550 plus on second hand markets. I still think waiting for benchmarks is a good idea and maybe some actual comparisons between the two but I'm actually fairly excited for this card. Of course it's still 8GB compared to the 1080ti's 11GB but the faster speed and new architecture could make up for that, and if this graph is legit then I want to say this might be it Chief.

So this is the situation: I want to get my bearings before 7/7 so I'll be ready to build ASAP. I already have a 1080ti cooled by kraken g12 and kraken x62. Am planning to build a 3900x pc for game dev, gaming and lots of productivity. I'm worried about overspending. These are my questions: Can the Meshify C fit two 280mm AIOs? Is there anything better noise/performance wise than Kraken X62 (Noctua fans)? 32gb 3200mhz cl16 ram or 16gb? If 16gb then what speed might x570 support? Seasonic Prime Titanium 750W overkill or no? I'm planning on getting 1tb PCIe storage. Wait for Gen4? Would it even matter if I get 3500 read or 5000. Best color accurate/high refresh GSYNC monitor? Preferably below 1.5k. Should I be worried about a rise in prices due to overall demand and buy any components before 7/7? Budget for the pc is 2200€ (I'm from EU) but I don't know if I need to spend that much for my needs. Monitor is secondary right now, I need the pc to make more money anyway.

Hi I recently acquired a 1080ti FE and it runs fine but when I close my side panel where the motherboard and PSU are seated (in the DAN case A4sfx) or nudge the the side panel the pc restarts/ turns off. This is not under any load just web browsing or idle. But when I do the same when using a 1080 FE that I have and do the exact same thing it does not happen. I have checked all the wires and they are plugged in. Everything is the same when I do the GPU swap to test this. Weird thing is everything runs smoothly with the 1080ti as long as I dont nudge the cpu/psu side panel. Its been under gaming load for long periods (this is when the side panel is open). Any ideas? can it be a bad gpu? Specs: Asrock AB350 Itx 16GB RAM 1080ti corsair 600W SFX Dan Case A4sfx

Hi! Recently acquired a 1080ti secondhand and it seemed to working fine but this sort of purring noise kicked in initially. Its an on and off situation right now as it sometimes faintly appears at low rpm's compared to the first encounter of the sound. I would guuess this would be the blower fan being weird? idk if its coil whine. I tested another blower style card (both were founders edition btw) it didnt really have that kind of noise or that loud. Please let me know what this is and what I should do or if I should run some tests? I've had this ongoing issue where I play a game for ten to fifteen minutes and my fps slowly drops, for example in Destiny 2 I get 100-110 fps, then 80-90, then around 70, then 60, and then it usually ends up between 40 and 50. In addition to this after exiting the game and running user bench my gpu performance seems to drop significantly. I have the latest drivers and have tried DDU, also the temps of both my cpu and gpu stay in between 50 and 60 C most of the time. Hello everybody! First I want to thank u guys for stopping into my post and helping my out. I am currently having to build my wife a new PC do to the fact her cpu is dying and with now things have gotten progressively worse with the symptoms I dont think it will last long. She is a gamer/streamer. She will watch YouTube or watching her friends stream, while streaming, while gaming. While I just use it for YouTube or Pandora while doing homework. The parts I know I am getting/already have. 16gb 3200mhz ram (2x8) (getting) 1080ti Strix (have) 1000w psu (have) Thermaltake 360 aio (getting) Now for the part I am having trouble with, now which one of these 3 do I go with? 1) 8700k 2)2700X 3) Wait for Zen2 Cpu and Mobos
