  1. I downloaded an FTP server app for my phone (WiFi FTP Server), and first tried it with Windows Explorer. It timed out after 30 seconds or so. I then tried, by recommendation from a friend, Filezilla, but it also timed out after 20 seconds... fortunately, I could disable this in the settings, allowing it to load longer, and tadaa, in a few minutes it had loaded the entire camera folder. The copying of the files themselves also seemed to go significantly fasted than via USB. I'm very happy.
  2. Yes, I specifically bought a separate USB 3.0 cable to transfer files more quickly. That sounds interesting. How do you do that / what programs/apps do you use to do that?
  3. According to the specifications list, it's USB 3.1, so that shouldn't be the issue. And even so, even at slower speeds, I don't think the loading of the folder should take multiple tens of minutes. I've tried multiple cables indeed, but this doesn't change much.
  4. Hello, For a while, this has bothered me, but with my increasing camera folder size, it's becoming more and more unusable. When I connect my OnePlus 7 Pro phone to my Windows 10 pc to transfer pictures, it takes tens of minutes for Windows Explorer to load the contents of my camera folder. When it's finally done (if it hasn't randomly stopped working in the meantime, which it sometimes does...), the actual transfer speeds also don't seem up to USB 3.0 spec (the phone is connected with a USB 3.0 usb C cable). Is there a way to speed this process up? I'm especially looking to fix the ginormous folder loading times, as that's the most cumbersome. Thanks in advance.
  5. Well yeah of course we stay up until past 12. I often still have lots of necessary and/or fun stuff to do, so I automatically don't go to bed early. Waking up early would then mean I didn't sleep long enough, so I wake up later. If I go to bed early (before 00:00) I generally cannot fall asleep (quick enough), so it's a bit of a waste of time to try to start sleeping by then. If there's something important early on in the day, yes, I will wake up for it. I'll just pretty much automatically also not get enough sleep, because I have too much to do to allow me to go to bed so early, and if I did try I wouldn't be able to sleep. Apart from not having slept enough, and having less time the night before, I don't have too many issues with waking up early.
  6. It should fit. The case manual (should be able to be found online as well) should list it as well.
  7. Maybe, but if you buy these for 50 bucks and they last you a year, and then buy another set for 50 bucks to last you another year, while a new set is I don't know 200$ or so? and might last 2 years, you're still 100$ better off in the end. (numbers made up for the comparison)
  8. Does using disk management to try to create a new partition help? If so, I would definitely test the USB stick afterwards to see if it doesn't immediately fail with a test like H2testw.
  9. After looking at some pictures of other people with these displays, that does indeed seem to be the edge of the display, unfortunately. They make it this way so people can get fooled into thinking the bezels are smaller than they actually are.
  10. I would personally consider the top left one as very important, and the middle left one as relatively important, both due to the weight of the CPU cooler. Would maybe you be able to relocate the two stripped standoffs to something like the bottom?
  11. Just hang it on as a fourth one! I also have a four monitor setup and find it to be lovely! You can always just turn the monitor off when not using it. You could also put it somewhere else in the house, to connect it to a laptop or help a family member out.
  12. What ram do you have now? You may be able to put the fan higher to get (some of) the sticks in. You also might be able to unscrew part of the "heatspreader", so it does fit.
  13. Nope. It's just fine. I recommend unplugging all drives that aren't the drive you're actually installing Windows one, so you're sure nothing important accidentally gets installed on one of the other drives.
  14. A friend of mine bought (hadn't received it yet though) a 3060 ti. He first thought about buying a 3070, couldn't find one at launch, and then decided with the release of the 3060 ti that that was better anyways, as he didn't feel like spending much more money and didn't need the extra performance, as he just recently upgraded to a 1080p 144 Hz monitor. As for me, I wouldn't buy anything yet - I'm still 98% happy with my GTX 680 - but if I would buy something, it'd be something second hand. I can't bring myself to paying at least 450 euros on something I don't use that much nor really need.
  15. I think the last sentence explains it. With my desktop I use 24" 1200p monitors, and, yeah, if I put my head really close to the screen, I can see pixels, but if I just look from about 50 cm away it's more than fine. I definitely wouldn't call it low detail. I have a 3120x1440 phone screen so it's not like I don't know better.

Yes, there are bluetooth dongles available for a few bucks.
  17. It's just fine. I recommend not being as close to it as a regular monitor, but more like a meter or more away - it'd be too big for your peripheral vision anyways.
  18. It's a stretch, but maybe you can disable the dGPU in the bios, and run (possibly only an external monitor) on the iGPU.
  19. All of the optical drives in computers I've ever heard when booting make that sound (or something very similar) when booting... maybe you're confusing the background noise with the optical drive noise. Like the others said, I think it's something with your display, or very maybe your GPU. I recommend trying to connect an extenal display, see if that works.
  20. They work just fine for me on the youtube app.
  21. That won't work, as that's a DVI-D cable, and they need DVI-I. Instead, an (active!) adaptor like this should work: Otherwise, if you'd like something else, I recommend buying a monitor second hand, as you can get much more for your money that way.
  22. Well, presumably, you have a monitor connected to the motherboard displayport port, and a graphics card installed. Conmect the displayport cable to the graphics card instead, it should then work.
  23. Many old graphics cards used DVI-I, indeed. (one of the best ports, in my opinion) Yup, I'm using the same cable (tried it with multiple, even). The artifacts don't occur when I plug the VGA cable with HDMI -> VGA adaptor into my laptop. When I got this GPU, I also experienced the artifacts, and after extensively trying everything out, found that it had to be the VGA cable/port on the GPU, unfortunately.
