kewtz got a reaction from ColinJ451 in LTT Staff, it has been 2 months. How’s it going?
I was going to wait until the 90 day mark but I’d probably forget.

It has been approximately 2 months since all the things happened.
I’m sure from a work perspective, it was stressful.

I can say - from a viewer end, I notice less content.
The current content rate is good, and the quality “feels” better. This is subjective, of course.

I think the community would benefit from hearing from staff. More…unscripted…how are these changes going from your viewpoint? How has it improved your work-life?

Edit: forgot to add - from my experience when things change at a company, you measure change at various cadences, I figured 90 days was a good time, but I won’t remember a month from now.

I had the question, went to the LTT yt to see when Linus posted the shtf video and it said two months.

It comes across as deflection/distraction or just flat out being a troll by debating the intent or legitimacy of a simple and genuine question.

Whether it was random and organic or I did set something on the calendar (which is not true) - but why does it matter?

We critique our favorite TV shows, music artists, movies, food - and guess what, we will also critique the YouTube “stars”. The only difference here is the YouTube folks are fairly accessible. Why wouldn’t I take an opportunity to ask a question, knowing the risk it may go unanswered?

    1. Quality > Quantity, and in this case, too many channels is diluting content quality. Don’t become the Applebee’s of tech franchises. That may not translate well to Canadians, glad to explain.

    2. Don’t lose the light-heartedness and beaming passion and excitement of Linus in the fun, “full-send” videos. Not all videos require a perfect script.

    3. Optics matter, and since LMG is a corporation, it’s time to behave more like one including ethics. The optics behind supporting (or not supporting) brands due to personal investments appears to be a massive conflict of interest. Linus needs to be cautious in this space.

In business, all publicity is good publicity.

The lack of quality information and potential misleading to consumers due to lack of quality should be called out.

LMG runs circles around GN in terms of subs, views, sponsors. Sure, GN may pick up crumbs from his de-monetized hit piece on LTT. I didn’t say he won’t gain.

GN brought (documented) errors to light and challenged LTT to do better - which is pretty consistent / on brand for GN.

You can fan-boy LTT all you want, defend them all you want (which is weird), they have some business issues to address, correct and overcome.

I disagree that LMG is "falling" - companies make mistakes, LMG/LTT isn't immune from mistakes considering their size.

MKBHD makes mistakes all the time, they haven't fallen.

I'd like to think the WAN show would be paused.

Keep in mind, the new CEO that has been largely silent or non-existent on screen came out during a time of crisis.
We (the audience / consumer) don't know him, a sense of "trust" hasn't been established with him.

His appearance gave LTT a very "corporate tone", and it's possible that he (CEO) is pulling more strings in efforts to save face with staff, sponsors, etc...

Unless Linus gives some sort of hard promise that he won't respond off-script, in a negative way - the way that got the community to raise pitchforks, it would be prudent for them to pause the show until the harsh reactions die down.

Keep in mind, ALL of this, is still flowing pretty strong considering the internet has a low attention span.

kewtz got a reaction from Mr. Rabbit in Madison reveals experiences working at LMG
The people that are throwing shade at Madison's allegations with zero knowledge or involvement with her alleged experience are part of the problem.

The allegations are serious. It's not your job to play internet lawyer. It's also not your job to defend LTT in this situation.
Blind loyalty for a situation like this is toxic. You're not going to get an internet badge for sticking up for a company that allegedly treated a human-being less than human.

This thread is disappointing. Our cohesive message should be:

We hope the allegations are not true. If the allegations are true, they should be taken seriously. If the allegations are true, involved parties must be held accountable.
