It varies from board to board and manufacturer to manufacturer. Like Asrock might advertise a 16 phase VRM and all that when the Vcore is only 12 phases or either way lower than what they actually mention, or ASUS might advertise an 8+2 phase VRM, when it's actually a 4+1, but they use two power stages per phase, which is a neat little cost saving trick, but it still gets the job done. There's also differences between the power stages, you could have ones rated for 50A, some rated for 45A, heck, some are even rated for 90A, but those are usually reserved for high-end ITX boards where space is really constrained.
Either way, are you dead set on the X570 Ultra or Master? You can get an X570 Unify for $250 and that's a super solid board, probably about on par with the Master, while being cheaper than even the Ultra.
@Mateyyy the region I'm in right now the price of ultra and unify is pretty much the same...
There is more fan headers/rgb headers/usb port for ultra ... The only downside if ultra is 1Gbps ethernet, unify has 2.5g and unify has the led time code, ...i wrote down all specs here... Hope it's visible... My first choice was unify, then i found these...

Unless you are planning a system with a 3950x and some high-end custom watercooling parts or even more exotic cooling, it won't matter.
I don't know if it's true today but the rule when ryzen just launched was: get a board with A vrm heatsink, big, small, not that important, just A heatsink.
But with X570 starting at a fairly high point, the VRM and VRM cooling are already so good (even if you get the cheapest one out there) it doesn't really matter. All boards are good, just get the one you like the most
yea definitely not 3950x :)))) thanks man...

@samcool55 im checking the differences between the x570 aorus master and ultra.
ultra is 12 +2 phase (doubled)
master is true 14 phase ...
you're right about the cost efficiency.
i know the doubler can cause a tiiiinyyyy bit of delay, i highly doubt it would be too much to notice by any users.
still im a bit confused not sure if there are any other differences there
they both seem to have a pretty good heating solutions as well
-
what are the differences in a motherboard that has True phase VRMs and no doublers
or
a motherboard that has less phases but uses a doubler?

Well then the c or the z
As I said they are all good quality
Lol
thank you so much for helping me man...
i'll get the trident z...and when i want to place the order, which ever frequency i find available at that moment i'll order that hahaha better leave it to luck...
-
Just now, TofuHaroto said:
Well from what I saw they are similar quality but the d kit does outperform the other two
I guess go for that
@TofuHaroto hhahahahaha the D kit is not available here...only C and Z

I mean b die for the most part is just a really good binned ram module
It is not worth specifically going after
If I would say which one is the best the LPX pro and the trident z are basically the same quality it comes down to looks and your preference
@TofuHaroto searching for corsair C Z D kits is giving me headache...i think trident Z is the winner.(and i like the looks :P )..now the only question...back to the original question... we did a whole 360 on ram lol
3600C18
or
3200C16
?

You can look at b die finder if you want to see if your modules are b die
As for micro or hynix I usually know them by cas latency
Usually b die is 16 and Lower and hynix and micron have higher cas latency
should i really look for a b die or not? worth the trouble? as i checked non of the rams i said in that list are b die......people are making it a big deal....sounds like another marketing tactic to me...idk...
which one of the rams in that list you'd suggest?! i think i'll create another post with those rams, see if i get more details.

4 minutes ago, TofuHaroto said:
No not really
It would just work better with the imc but nothing else
Micron us also still a decent quality brand
how can i figure out the build whether its b die hynix micron? i have a feeling its only through software after i bought it !!
-
1 minute ago, TofuHaroto said:
OHHHH MY BAD I thought these were b die
They are not
If they were b die they would end with an A
is there really that much of difference?!?!?!?
-
shoudlTHANK YOU!!!
since the prices here are pretty much the same except in USD around 5dollars difference...i'll go with RGB (you know RGB make you game faster :P )
I'll mention the local prices as well...(there are 2 main online stores so i put the prices on both)
BUT
Vengeance PRO RGB 3600C18 there are 2 models (omg my brain hurts)
CMW16GX4M2Z3600C18 (1077)
CMW16GX4M2C3600C18 (1360)
Vengeance PRO RGB 3200C16 :
CMW16GX4M2C3200C16 (998)
CMW16GX4M2Z3200C16 (959)
Trident Z 3600C18
F4-3600C18D-16GTZR (987)
Trident Z 3200C16
F4-3200C16D-16GTZR (847 / 899)
according to what you said, the trident Z is better quality...why is it cheaper?!
and why vengeance got so many different models? what are the differences?!
-
3 minutes ago, TofuHaroto said:
Lowest quality usually micron at best
Hynix for the most part
Micron at the very least could be b die
For the most
The most expensive usually b die but I have seen some models with micron
now im even more confused lol

1 minute ago, TofuHaroto said:
Oh well that's definitely a problem lol
You can if you want check experiences with the kit
For the most part from what I have seen LPX does work with AMD'S imc they usually have micron chips which for the most part works with the imc
technically should work ... i agree, and i know this was a big deal with 1000 ryzen but now, its not much of a big deal...
in that case im back to 3200C16 or 3600C18
options are :
Vengeance LPX
Vengeance PRO RGB
Trident Z (i like the look of this)

Just now, TofuHaroto said:
Technically speaking even if it is not on the QVL list it should still work but I don't trust amd's imc
So if you would like to maybe test the kit that you currently have (in your Intel's system) and see if it work and if it did order the same one that would not hurt
the problem is im in another country...and i dont have access to that....
-
11 minutes ago, TofuHaroto said:
What mobo are you getting ?
Maybe we can look at the QVL
Also what ram is available on the QVL lol
Are ripjaws V there ?
@TofuHaroto im getting the x570 Aorus ultra
well i personally liked the 2x8 LPX 3200C16 cuz i had it on my intel system for years and its awesome...and still rocking...
so i wanted to get the same for my amd build....the memory i found is this CMK16GX4M2E3200C16 for LPX but its not in the QVL list.
then i found the trident Z...though trident had 2 versions...F4-3600C18D-16GTZRX and F4-3600C18D-16GTZR ... the X is AMD tested and is on the QVL but its not available for sale here...so im stuck with F4-3600C18D-16GTZR( NON X) ...
and one more for trident ... F4-3200C16D-16GTZR ... not on the QVL list
the other option is vengeance pro RGB...CMW16GX4M2C3200C16...this is on the QVL list but in QVL it says 4GB...the seller's website says 2x8GB...im soooo confused.....

The performance will be the same.
Check if either one is on the QVL of your motherboard of choice, as I have bad experiences in the past with AMD AM4 motherboards + Corsair memory
@minibois weirdly enough the rams available in my region are not mentioned in the QVL...and im stuck...the trident Zs are not in the QVL as well...ii need serious help

Vengeance (2x8GB) LPX
3200MHz C16
OR
LPX 3600MHz C18
??
for AMD build
the prices are same in my region

I think you're overthinking and making assumptions.
People are gaming on 6700K's and 7700K's no problem, so just because consoles have more cores doesn't mean games magically will utilize them. There's a fair bit of programming magic needed to make a game run on so many threads properly.
@Dedayog hahah yea i definitely am overthinking waay too much...as i do pretty much in everything in my life...3600x or 3700x or wait for XT, i will be buying in june maybe 1st or 2nd week of june...
-
21 minutes ago, TofuHaroto said:
If you already have the board just go for the 3600
Great ipc count
6 hyper threaded cores it should be good
@TofuHarotothe original decision was the 3600x...but now the next gen stuffs are coming, im kinda worried more, cuz the next gen consoles will have 8Core 16 thread...so the upcoming games will be more utilised to use that amount of cores so, a 6core 12thread might not last as long...omg im going crazy hahahah ... i need help

1 hour ago, TofuHaroto said:
It should be available in around 1-3 Months from what I have seen
But what do you have now ?
Do you need a system badly now ?
@TofuHaroto i am in need of a system super bad...running a 10year old laptop (1st gen i7) hahahha
the mobo i have is Gigabyte x570 aorus pro... no cpu yet....i can wait about a month...
got the parts ready for my system...only cpu left...
@Jurrunio as far as i realised, they're pretty much the same, only
3600XT base frequency> 3600X base frequency > 3600
and i hightly doubt about much of OC on amd , and im not interested in OC at all.
@Dedayog hahah yea i know kinda stupid naming ...i was set for a 3600x , but im just curious whether worth the wait, and few bucks higher wont mind it "IF" it would be worth it.....
@Letgomyleghoe the just increased the base frequency so can compete with 10th gen intel i5 single core performance... thats all
-
any idea when the ryzen 3600 XT comes?! and the prices?
should i wait or just get the 3600X ?!

I would think the vengence LPX would be the best value for an amd build.
@Yashiees yea im stuck between LPX and Flare X...

@TofuHaroto sorry man, 3200Mhz ... typo...
@TofuHaroto yea im also stuck between flare x and LPX
Is "AMD OPTIMISED" WORTH THE $$$?
in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Posted
The old ryzen cpus may have been more picky on ram. But these days they're all doin pretty well.
So with the same price i can get
1- Trident Z 32GB (2x16GB) 3600C16
2- Trident Z NEO 32GB (2x16GB) 3200C16 (amd optimised)
So is the marketing term of "amd optimised" really with the extra buck?
