No extra case fans? Meshify C only comes with another 2, though I guess you could move over whatever the old system has.

Case fans are just hold on by screws on the corners. The Meshify C is better suited to using 120mm fans than 140mm fans and you should at least make it to 4 120mm fans, 1 back exhaust and the rest as front intake.

cheapest fan that doesn't suck is the Arctic F12

I disagree, the scissor mounting frame on the older 212 (including the evo) is an absolute pain. the new frame on the 212 Black is much better

Preferably not the silent, you have fan speed control on the motherboard so slow fans means you cant turn them up even if you want to.

You can keep them at the top as either intake or exhaust, or even buy two less F12 fans and combine them with the stock ones. They are mediocre in every way.

ah, I do have some 3.5" drives so I make sure HDD cages get some airflow over them. With 140mm fans there's none going down to the PSU chamber.

but with 1 fan the fan mount of the other will let air go in or out which counteracts the benefits of the fan. You can solve this by blocking up the unused fan mount with something solid.

It is true that 140mm fans are stronger than 120mm and the length of ATX boards (305mm) means 2 140mm fans is just enough to cover up the entire side of the board and push as much air as possible to the CPU cooler and graphics card. Only problem is the cooking 3.5" bay next to the PSU but not a concern when you dont have anything in it.
They dont mention sealing off the empty fan mounts up top though, which is something I'd like to see whether that makes any difference.

I've read that the 212 Black Edition performs better than the 212 Evo (And the evo is like 5 - 10€ more) ... Do you have experience with both of them ?

Just look at the tier list, anything from tier C for NVMe and tier B for SATA would be solid option.

I am building something similar to your setup.  Here is the cooler that I have thought about using:

    - I can't read your replies to my comment on your previous post.
    - This build looks good other than for too expensive SATA SSD.
    - 650W isn't exactly overkill, it would've been just fine with 550W in gaming with any hardware tho.
    - 3600MHz RAM might get you a few more FPS on average, i wouldn't bother really unless you can get it for the same price (better if 16\17CL).
    - Since you don't have high-FPS display right now, not getting a better GPU for now too makes sense.
    - Whether to keep your current PSU depends on what model it is, not it's wattage, but unless it were smth really high-end, chances that 7 yo PSU will still be good for modern standards are rather low.

If you are buying an aftermarket cooler for your CPU, just go with the 3600. They will perform identically when they are both running with a better cooler than stock.
Maybe look for an M.2 NVMe SSD, as opposed to a regular SATA one. It will be faster and save you from having to run extra cables from the SSD to the motherboard and PSU.
RAM's fine, you might see a slight increase in FPS if you go with a 3600MHz kit, but I wouldn't bother if it's much more expensive.
The PSU is really solid, but you can definitely go with the 550W and you'll still have plenty of headroom with whatever GPU you plan on buying. Definitely don't reuse your 7 year old unit though.
And finally, regarding the GPU, if you aren't in a rush to get the most performance and think you can save some extra cash while waiting for Nvidia's 3000 series to come out, then you might as well wait. The GTX 970 isn't that bad of a card, especially for 1080p.
