it would be cool if you could overclock it but Apple

Scouring Geekbench I found something quite interesting, in the remote section of CPUs without a name you can often find Engineering samples and prototypes, and here I found these: https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/6415953 https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/6801137 These are two skews of Ice Lake DE (even though I think it might be Ice Lake SP), respectively a 36 core one (GenuineIntel Family 6 Model 106 Stepping 5) and a 24 core one (GenuineIntel Family 6 Model 106 Stepping 4), these 10nm CPUs use the LGA 4189 socket and feature 8 DDR4 memory channels, up to 3200 MT/s. The platform is called Whitley, while the CPU supports PCIe 4.0 the chipset, C621A doesn't seem to. One of these submissions uses the Supermicro X12DDW-A6, which hasn't been launched yet, but is part of the X12 generation. This is a dual CPU datacenter optimized motherboard used in their WIO series servers, the specific model here is the Supermicro SYS-610C-TR Searching for submissions that used the X12DDW-A6 we find a Intel Xeon Gold 6330N, which is a 16 core 32 thread CPU Using the Supermicro X12DPU-6 is an Intel Xeon Gold 6330, a 28 core CPU. This also is also a dual CPU motherboard, for some unknown UIO series server. Anyways, in single core these xeons seem quite fast, the best one in this regard is on par with a Ryzen 5 3600, if we can trust geekbench that is... Even more interesting is the zen3 based Epyc 7643, a 48 core CPU that rivals the 3800x and the 9700k in single core, in multi core though this CPU is much faster than even the Threadripper 3990x, with less cores... The motherboard used is the Wiwynn SV302A-U, which tells me absolutely nothing

not really, that seems like a pretty balanced combo

for the CPU about $200 (or a bit less) in both cases. GPU should be around the $300-350 mark -
you plug in the nvme drive. Then at the next startup it will be automatically mounted and formatted by windows

the i5 11400F is an intel CPU and the 5600 is an AMD CPU (that shares the name with a GPU, but leave that alone) The 3060 is an Nvidia GPU and the 6600XT is an AMD GPU. These all will be announced relatively soon. -

oh, then get something like the 11400F or the 5600(non x) and pair that with a 3060 or a 6600XT. the choice will be highly dependent on pricing -
What can I do to improve this build?

I usually use windows without a licence and then modify the registry to unlock most of the features -

I would wait till early 2021, AMD should have more stock (in GPU and CPU), same for Nvidia. Intel will have released the new 11th gen that should compete or even beat Zen3 in gaming. This could lead in lower prices by AMD (and they should have already released the non x series chips) and intel alike. -

ah, makes sense, for a second I though the USD decreased in value even more -

why is it 25 EUR here? -

well, I don't personally care, but I don't want to suggest people things that might be in grey territory legality wise -
that doesn't make much sense, a slower GPU shouldn't be causing that, even with the 3080 intel has better lows. I would say it's either the architecture, the ram or just bad optimization for the new architecture.

pretty much nothing, except that $130 windows licence, you can use windows without activating it or you can get a licence for less money from more questionable places, but for the love of god don't pay $130 for windows 10 -
Since you already have a PC I would say get the 3070, it sould be really close performance wise
-
I'd go for straight Debian with KDE Plasma
-
probably, a friend of mine has an RTX 2080 with a 550w PSU
-
it's worse in gaming, but better in multi threaded workloads. At this poin spend $50 more and get a 3600
-
Please don't buy a new 9th gen CPU when 11th gen is coming out in 4 months and zen 3 in about one month
-
they won't be available in 6 hours though.

The 10700k similar in performance to a 3800x, in single and multicore. Now you could wait for the 5800x or even for the 11700k, but the 5000 series won't be immediately available, and the 11th gen from intel is coming in Q1 2021. On ryzen the sweet spot is 3200 - 3600 cl 14. also, be careful when trusting leaks, the leaked benchmarks show similar performance to the 10900k in gaming (ashes of the singularity, a very much dead game), but multi core performance, doesn't matter in that specific workload, in fact, a 10600k beats the 10900k if slightly overclocked with less cores
-
That said if the 3300x is in stock
-
unless they are in series it won't matter
-
Not really, it comes with two cables, each cable has 2x 8 pin connectors. Unless they are in series on a single cable, it shouldn't matter
