  1. I’m not very familiar with the variants but it’s the one that has the black joysticks.
  2. I want to buy an Atari to play the River Raid game. Which one should I get to use with a modern TV? I know they can look very different and since it’s a gift I’d like to get a good one.
  3. You should setup your PS5 horizontally so the dust settles on the side panels and not inside the exhaust. Also air spray it once in a while to prevent the dust from sticking to it.
  4. If someone is dumb enough to connect to an unknown WiFi/network, specially one named %secretclub%power then maybe the internet could do without them. Also the title is misleading. Being near that SSID won’t disable your WiFi, you have to try and connect to it.
  5. Riley should make a video about Cyberpunk 2077 like the one he made for Star Citizen. That was a great video. I recently started playing the game and it's playable but buggy af.
  6. That’s assuming there are public toilets, in NYC there aren’t any.
  7. More evidence the TPM and CPU requirements are made up just to make older hardware obsolete.
  8. Some people here don’t realize that many people in certain regions of the world cannot buy or play genuine games. Not even a question of affordability, their region won’t get them for political reasons. This includes the Middle East, parts of Asia, parts of Africa, and South America. Also people sometimes buy what they believe to be the genuine DVD that turns out to be counterfeit.
  9. Yes several gaming oriented laptops don’t have webcams. They are actually really good systems with high end GPUs. https://rog.asus.com/us/laptops/rog-zephyrus/2021-rog-zephyrus-g15-series/ This is Microsoft trying to be like Apple in a horrible way. Some people may not want to use a dinky laptop webcam and buy their own. Now they’ll be paying for a webcam that won’t be useful to them.
  10. Jus to expand on how ridiculous this TPM business is, it means Windows 11 will not support Microsoft’s own Surface devices released before 2018. Any device that’s older than 3 years is not supported. This is the list of Surface devices that Windows 11 will not support: Surface 3 Surface Book Surface Book 2 (Core i5-7300U) Surface Go Surface Hub Surface Laptop Surface Pro Surface Pro 2 Surface Pro 3 Surface Pro 4 Surface Pro (2017) Surface Studio Surface Studio 2 How can they not support Surface Book 2 or Surface Pro 4?!! SB2 was a $1800 device. Unless Windows 11 is hot garbage, everyone will want to ditch Windows 10. But most of those people won’t be able to. And just like that Microsoft destroyed any resale value those devices had. If Apple can support 5-6 year old devices on the Big Sur which is made for ARM processors then why can’t Microsoft support x86?!
  11. You know what’s even better? This
  12. Also ppl who buy external drones usually want to use them fir backup. Who wants their backup connected to the internet?! People who do just pay for cloud storage!
  13. If you check the link it’s a survey of “3,000 investors and crypto-curious consumers in the United States.” That’s not the same thing as a survey of US adults. They only polled people who are already holding cryptos or want to get into it: “Survey respondents were polled from October 19 to November 16, 2020, and included 921 self-identifying current cryptocurrency owners and 1,697 consumers who were interested in learning more about cryptocurrency.”
  14. Maybe Samsung won’t brick people’s smart tv functionalities anymore. F-in Samsung outright bricked the WiFi and USB ports on my TV just 3 years after I bought it.
  15. I would say people should be way more upset with Qualcomm. Every android phone that has a Qualcomm chip is also paying patent royalties on things that are not in their devices. Qualcomm forces the OEMs to sign a revenue sharing deal and pay for its “IP portfolio.” If I’m not mistaken it’s 10% of the price of the device; mind you the OEM still has to pay for the chip. Every Android phone with a Qualcomm chip would be 10% cheaper if Qualcomm couldn’t force the OEM to also pay random royalties.
  16. We were talking about radars on cars then you came accusing me of being wrong because air traffic radars can do what car radars can’t. Everything that was said was in the context of radar for autonomous driving and radar in cars. Ah, let me clarify what “uses the Doppler effect” means there. They use the Doppler effect to filter out the stationary objects/road surfaces which is how they detect moving vehicles and then calculate the distance to those. Don’t have to take my word for it: Michael Parker, in Digital Signal Processing 101 (Second Edition), 2017. He also explains what happens if the radar and an object are perpendicular. https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/engineering/doppler-frequency-shift There are about 8 companies that make about 12 models of radars for cars. They are very similar because of designs limitations, costs, and regulations. Here’s a journal review of sensors in cars. Read what the 4th item on the right says: https://res.mdpi.com/d_attachment/sensors/sensors-20-06532/article_deploy/sensors-20-06532.pdf
  17. I can’t believe I have to say this but how can you compare the massive air traffic radar systems to the tiny ones in cars?! That’s like comparing a supercomputer to a calculator. They are so different… the obvious complexity and size of the systems aside, there are strict regulations on what frequencies bands, bandwidths, and power levels are allowed in a car radar. Air traffic radars don’t have those restrictions. Second, car radar systems are based on the Doppler’s principle. That’s the manufactures of the radars saying that. And pulse waveform radars in cars don’t even have real simultaneous range and radial velocity measurement. There are better radar-on-chips but they are prohibitively expensive and only used in the F-35 fighter jet. The radar used in the Tesla model 3 is ARS 4-B which is also used by 16 other automakers I think. As per the spec sheet from the manufacturer, it’s measurements are based on Doppler’s principle. Here’s the spec sheet: That’s just not true based on the radar spec sheets. Here we’re talking about car radars. I understand air control towers use many different methods to scan the area but that’s not what we’re talking about. If you look closely, what I wrote is that the Doppler effect isn’t observed when the distance between the source and the observer is constant. It doesn’t say anything about how distance is measured.
  18. They can’t control all of it but most countries have protocols to shutdown the entire communications systems in their territory which includes internet access. Even larger countries like India have done this recently. I’m not saying they would do it to hurt cryptos but they have the power to. Even though the blockchain can survive a large part of the network going down for a while, the loss of access can be damaging.
  19. That's a politically loaded view though. I would say it's bad for cryptos to present themselves as a threat to any government's authority. Because that'll make them a target. If it ever comes to that, governments control the internet so they'll always have the "kill switch" power over the cryptos and everything else.
  20. I wasn't trying to imply you said that. I was only giving an example of sensor conflicts that can't be resolved in a safe way imo. These are still open problems and most researchers can't agree on which approach is best. I have a personal opinion but I'm no authority on the subject As luck would have it, Tesla's head of AI just gave a presentation a couple of days ago and he explained why they've dropped radar. Worth a watch if you find the topic interesting.
  21. Besides the leases, they need places with cheap supply of electricity. I'm not sure where they are going to find that much excess capacity.
  22. I don’t know about this being good for miners elsewhere. Because China had the cheapest electricity available, that’s why most of the hash capacity was located there. It definitely won’t be as profitable elsewhere. How can you not worry about expensive transaction fees?! It certainly looks like China is trying to shut it all down gradually. I doubt cryptos would be down this much if people didn’t think so.
  23. Summary China's crackdown on cryptocurrency "mining" has extended to the southwest province of Sichuan, where authorities ordered 26 suspected cryptocurrency mining projects closed by Sunday. Miners in Sichuan mostly use hydropower to run their equipment which suggests the crackdown is more broadly based. Some miners move their activities there in the rainy summer to take advantage of its hydropower resources. Sichuan is China's second-biggest bitcoin mining province, according to data compiled by the University of Cambridge. The authorities urged local governments in Sichuan to start combing for cryptomining projects and shut them down. Needless to say new projects are banned. Quotes This video is from a TikTok user claiming to show miners in Sichuan packing up. IMG_4251.MP4 My thoughts Let us all shed a tear, won’t you?! Jokes aside this isn’t surprising given that electricity shortages have forced factory shut downs in that region. This also explains why the crypto prices have been crashing this week again. 24. When you put it like that I’m inclined to agree. From the official page it seems like the following are impacted: Autosteer will be limited to a maximum speed of 75 mph and a longer minimum following distance. Smart Summon (if equipped) and Emergency Lane Departure Avoidance may be disabled at delivery. https://www.tesla.com/support/transitioning-tesla-vision If I were to buy a car I would postpone purchasing those features unless they’d give me a discount for not having those features right away.
  25. Completely agree. Another thing to add is Tesla’s vehicle safety ratings and crash history, their cars have all earned the highest safety rating. It’s all public data; what about that says they are playing it fast and loose?! They are literally rated safer than Volvos!! It’s insane that companies like GM, VW, Mercedes, and Toyota can have massive 80,000 car recalls for break failure or fire hazard and they end up with essentially no news coverage whatsoever or blow back. There are about 200,000 car fires in the US from combustion engine cars. I’ve never seen a media frenzy about it. I can’t remember the last time any incident was covered in the news. But any Tesla fire or incident gets so sensationalized like it’s the apocalypse. I don’t know if they could've handled that any better. Not everyone buys Autopilot or FSD, so it doesn’t impact that many people who are about to get their order delivered. Ppl can cancel or return their order though. One would hope they tried to minimize the number of people this effected.
