  1. I plan on getting 2 new curved monitors soon, these ones to be exact: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/rM97YJ/aoc-c32g1-315-1920x1080-144-hz-monitor-c32g1 https://pcpartpicker.com/product/2nZFf7/aoc-cq32g1-315-2560x1440-144-hz-monitor-cq32g1 I get the appeal when it comes to playing on curved monitors for 3D games for the immersion, but what about 2D side scrolling games? Wouldn't a game like Super Mario Bros look a little weird when the edges of the screen are stretched outwards when they're supposed to be flat? Do any of you have any experience with this? Does it look fine, did you have to get used to it, etc.?
  2. Yeah I could do that, but that would mean having to have a setup where one screen has good color accuracy but both have poor refresh rates, or one screen that has good refresh rates but both have poor color accuracy. I would like my gaming monitor to have vibrant colors as well. Especially when playing indie games with amazing artwork. Maybe I could just try to remove the anti-glare coatings. But then that would mean having to take apart the monitor and void the warranty, unless the monitor is bezel-less. Fuck's sake...
  3. Exactly, 4K is way over budget for me. You know what also sucks? So many monitors having anti-glare coatings which distort the colors and ruin all the IPS goodness. Why is this such a complicated process man
  4. That's a 4K monitor. I'm looking for 1080p or 1440p.
  5. I forgot to mention that I need it to be IPS because I will be doing some artwork as well as movie-watching with multiple people, so the color accuracy and viewing angles are important. Maybe I should just get an ultrawide 1440p monitor instead, but damn they're so expensive...
  6. I've been using a 1080p 32 inch 60hz TV for over 3 years now and I'm thinking it's finally time to upgrade to a proper gaming monitor and a new graphics card to go along with it. There's one little problem though, I can find neither 1080p nor 1440p 32 inch 120hz IPS monitors. I've spend several hours over the past couple of days looking for them but all I get are 32 inch VA panels or 34 inch ultrawides. The only 32 inch IPS panels I've found don't go higher than 75hz. I see plenty of 27 inch monitors with my desired specs but I'm used to my larger screen size and I sit further back than most when using my PC, sometimes even further from a bed, so I'd like to keep the same screen size. Why don't these kinds of monitors exist? Certainly they must available for purchase somewhere, maybe some fancy foreign company?
  7. The front panel power and reset pins on my motherboard don't work anymore because I accidentally shorted the wrong pins but I can still use my PC by using the on board power button. I can even still game. Could I end up damaging other components if I continue using my PC this way for the meantime before I get the motherboard repaired or replaced? Specs: Case: Define R4 CPU: i7 4770k CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i GPU: Asus Strix GTX 970 Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth Z87 RAM: Adata XPG 16GB Storage: Adata 128GB SSD and WD 1TB HDD PSU: SeaSonic 750W
  8. I would stay away from the top because dust will settle in even more easily that way. Also make sure to set it as an exhaust. You don't want heat being brought into the case.
  9. Save up your money for a better graphics card and a nice 4K monitor to go along with it. Wait for sales in the future. You could even wait for the GTX 1100 series.
  10. 1. A good way to visualize monitor sizes is to take a tape measure and extend it to the length you want a couple of feet in front of your face. 24 inch is average size. 3. Unless you have a highly trained eye (like professional gamers), you won't be able to the notice the difference between really low response times. Just make sure it's under 10ms (most are). 4. IPS is the best panel type for color accuracy. Also be careful not to get an anti-glare(matte) monitor. It makes the colors look all washed out. 11. I read the motherboard manual and turns out there's a power button on the motherboard titled "DirectKey". Not sure how I missed that. I got the computer up and running and even started playing some games. Everything is working fine so far except that the front panel pins still aren't working. Is it still possible that other components could still get damaged even though everything else looks good? Couldn't I just use the "DirectKey" button for the meantime?
  12. I'll give this a try. Wish me luck.
  13. I picked up Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition for $3 from the Square Enix website. It was $4.50 on Steam. Use https://isthereanydeal.com/ when looking for game deals.
