  1. Wikichip has to be the leading source in chips!!!! Wikichip:source was a game changer. For some, a lifesaver.............
  2. A rosewill psu is fine but it's a budget psu. I bought a corsair cx650m, and in hindsight, who cares. I'm running an x58 off a solid gear brand sdgr "650watt" that rosewill is technically overkill too. Would probably last you many years in the real world. Looks like the build would run fast.
  3. Drums. You're supposed to be able to stream an ep i play in called "Aktion Kat - Outta' Tha Bag" Guy that plays guitar made a site www.AktionKat.com
  4. You can't use the original holes because they're too small for the modern romex. Plus there's ceramic pieces crammed in there. If the house was well taken care of then the wires should be ok in theory, but only if they are attached to a modem 15 amp circuit breaker. You can only use 2 prong 15 amp outlets. It is very tough to run a whole house with computers on that limitation. You reach 80 percent of 15 amps pretty fast using things like a fridge and a heater.
  5. Well yeah technically. 1 transformer would be 1 phase, but they wrap the 2nd hot the other direction so its opposite phase. An end user sees essentially 2 phases off 1 when they use a stove or dryer. I have an old house and i had to hire an electrician just to get 220v inside. Did not realize till i was a homeowner that people had 110v panels back in the day. It's still weird to hear people actually flip the volt switch on their psu elsewhere in the world. Seems wasteful but i know people in uk have cheaper electric bills than usa.
  6. Got nintendos for days. They're only useful today if the lockout chip is disabled.
  7. Back in the old days of red lasers. They couldn't see thru the dust. Hence the improvement to bluray. The biggest joke is if the inventer of the cd player used blue light then blu ray would have already been invented by the time dvd came out.
  8. Need to change that wiring before it burns the house down. I have a house made in 1923 and since electricians are part of the bulldozer bandwagon too i had to remove and route the new wire myself. Those old cloth back wires were insulated with rubber. Once the rubber wears off the cloth catches on fire. That tv broke because 240 is insane for anything other than a device that runs 2 things at once. 220/240v uses 2 hots off phase of each other to save the need for a Neutral. Modern 240v has to have a neutral with it, because modern engineers realize how insane people are.
  9. You can definitely upgrade the bios successfully on OEMs. Ive done it to a hp z400. Some models do not get bios updates. I've updated a dell board bios transplanted into corsair case for someone. Was able to run an i7 3770 afterwards. That thing got a ssd a firepro gpu. It's a garage multitrack studio pc.
  10. I'm in a similar boat. Got the small house for a good deal. It's just old and previous tenents were unworthy. The improvements have been great till now. im in my own way at this point. I've readjusted the layout to have 2 bedrooms based on 12ft. No hallway, but no great room. Bathroom/laundry in the back. 3rd bedroom shrunk and turned into a walk in closet for the wife. the code guy and the tax guy are not too impressed about me shrinking the tax on my house.
  11. I just paid a $160 for about 1000sqft utility bill and i was plum happy. What size is your place?
  12. I mostly see stuff like this for repairs. People as a whole don't have nice computers. Just the likes of us, and i only buy used parts so im even out of date. You're off by at least 10 years on the prebuilt. Think 2010. Windows 10 will probably always accept windows 7 keys. Black market keys are probably sometimes forgotten windows 7 that werent activated. I promise if you can wait thru the possible 30 min windows 10 boot dilema on old boards you can have a nice computer for a couple of bucks. Dual core can be tough now days though. You'd be shocked what enough ram and a decent gpu can do on an old cpu.
  13. I'm in Memphis. We have a middleman public works utility here, mlg&w. My power really comes from TVA. Code here now requires electric light gas stoves. There are some rusty holdovers that need work hanging around here but its like seeing a CRT Tv. can't use the oven if the power goes out. You can force the burners on by dangerously lighting with a match. Modern USA gas ovens do not have a pilot option. I have used all versions of american stoves over the years, and code has forced modern electric to be the best choice. The power hardly ever goes out at my house. I still have the 20s cozy bungalow gas fireplace. Basically a gas heater with a shelf. Lol
  14. I would not recommend it unless you could put a better cpu in there. You could use the windows 7 key on that board for windows 10. The video can be upgraded, and im sure you could cram a little bit more ram in there. Ssd would be nice. That chipset can be slow to boot a windows 10 usb. Depends on the board. Once you get thru that everything is fine. Windows updates is real reason of ryzen.
  15. I got the cheapest model. I am not a chef. I cannot tell the difference between the higher end model other than it had a convection fan.
  16. Natural gas is not as abundant as it use to be. Gas cost more than it did 20 years ago. when its had most of the same junk to harvest it since day 1. They have moved to fracking (blowing up the underground) to force possible gas sources. Old electric stoves take longer to warm up, which takes more electricity to cook in comparison to money spent on gas to cook. gas starts cooking instantly. Modern gas stoves need electricity to operate. Old has stoves have an "acceptable" amount of carbon monoxide emitted to the inside of your house. Smooth surface made of ceramic is the only weak link in modern residential cooking. Electric is the best, most efficient choice.
  17. Here is my plum awful post of my new Samsung ne59m4310ss stove. It's a dumpy 1923 kitchen, im remodeling, and I no longer wanted a house that was dependent on gas. Needed coutertop outlets, and fracking is bad. Everytime i walk into the kitchen i feel like I put a server in there. A server that cooks pizza. Had to wire it up cause the electrician never arrived, and I spent most the day under the house. i was expecting to spend well over a grand to do the conversion from gas, but the stove was $524 total delivered from lowes via private contractor on a sunday morning. The 4 prong 50 amp cord was $25. The outlet was $13. The 6-3 gauge wire was $107. A bit more was spent on conduit and connectors roughly $20 to $30. I had a 50 amp breaker from when i upgraded my panel a few years ago. This thing boils water about as fast as a gas stove. Was a savings. https://www.samsung.com/us/home-appliances/ranges/electric/ne59m4310ss-aa-ne59m4310ss-aa/
  18. Banned for use of double L.
  19. Xp was so awful. Try win 2000sp4. The phenom II are ok but with the wrong graphics card you will be stuck at 60fps. Core 2 duo/quad is a bit more future proofed. Ive seen it do pushing 300fps on minecraft. You should look for one with a 12mb cache. You can play doom 95, battlefield 1942, Duke nukem 3d, e.t.c on windows 10. Windows 10 is basically windows vista sp5million at this point. Tech is stagnant. We're still waiting for amd to create 128bit so we can throw all this stuff away and start over just like y2k. Core 2 duo makes a decent win 10 machine.
  20. I have this card in my son's computer. You might need to read a pdf manual and see if there are switches you need to set appropriate on the gpu board. Also the paste might need a change.
  21. "Tj max is the maximum allowable temp for a processor's internal cores, if you reach Tj maxthe processor's THERMTRIP# signal will activate shutdown to prevent damage to the processor. " Google Nobody likes baloney advice. The junk is alright. Nobody cares about where your mom buys stuff.
