  1. I got a Wyze Cam 1080 on a Post Prime Day sale for 9.99. Wasn't sure what I'd do with it, but it was a "buy now, think later" type of ting....well, it's later... It's aimed to be a security camera, but I have no need for that. Don't need to monitor pets. I wondered idly about using it as a web cam, but haven't looked into that, yet. Figured I'd open it up to te creative community here, see what folks thought. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076H3SRXG/
  2. Right there with you. I find the apple airpod (non pro) style much nicer...both wireless and the corded before then....they're not as secure sadly...fall out too easily...but I hate hate hate the feeling of things stuck into the ear canal.
  3. ONI. It was a 3rd person anime inspired action game Bungie was developing alongside Halo as games to launch on the Mac when Microsoft bought Bungie and made Halo the XBox game. Oni was still released but wasn't quite finished, but it still had great graphics at the time and the action was great as you learned new combat skills as the story progressed that were just real easy to use so it became very satisfying to just wade into hand to hand combat despite the various weapons you had.
  4. Clever...get it established as THE arm vs 86 benchmark now so they're set for when the ARM Macs start coming. (I assume they make money somehow from it's use?)
  5. Seem's like a whole lot of complaining because, well, tat's wat the forum does. No lightning ->usb A....you mean the cable you can get for a few bucks at any store you can think of? And the new phones still work with all the lightning based accessories that people have invested in already? I remember when apple went from the docking port to ligting and that pissed everyone off..why should they do that now, especially when the future is looking more and more like wireless charging. So they should switch twice in quick succession? Of course, had they included a lighting usbA cable, you'd be bitching about ewaste on that.
  6. Well, consider this: the iPhone 12 mini is actually smaller than the iPhone SE despite the larger screen and more powerful hardware. The SE is good for the money, but I'd say the 12 mini is a bit of a powerhouse for its size. yea... I cobbled this togeter from a webpage I found to get some ideas in my head on this. the 12 mini is very tempting.... though the se at nearly half the price is too.
  7. it pretty much does all i need,,,,phone, messages, maps, some note taking stuff for shopping etc, photos. music. I haven't been a fan of the increasing size trend of phones since the 5s design, and had no driving need to upgrade. 5s doesn't get OS updates anymore (though it gets securtiy updates for it's OS still), so it's time to start looking at something new..maybe the current SE, but I do like the return to the squared design the 12's have.
  8. I think so... need to look up the size of the mini compared to a 5s...which is what I'm still using.
  9. of course @LinusTech misrepresented the story on WAN show.
  10. He said that, but he also basicly dared/challenged people to look at the info he gave out and try to figure out....both in that vid and on LAN show. He's not gonna tell someone they're right, but i wouldn't say he's minding people speculating and playing with math.
  11. that's te shuffle. The nano was a basic clickwheel type player with lcd screen, but smaller than the standard ipod.
  12. I suspect that it was less an issue of what they were doing and more who was doing it..
  13. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha Oh, you're serious? Because they really don't have a case in court, but they can score points in the PR battle to try and get a settlement. And stuff against google doesn't get anywhere near the level of press and buzz that stuff about Apple does.
  14. I mentioned elsewhere, lots of business happens in grey areas...Lawsuits cause light to shine in those areas and the become defined as black and white. Epic's been trying to play the white knight for developers in all of this, though we all know it's only about they want they're own app store rather than any kind of championing the little guy....well, Epic's spotlight just hurt a lot of little guys who've been doing fine in the shade. (metaphor kinda got away from me there)
  15. Even cheaper and easier..as the holiday season approaches, Walmart and other places will have massage/heat covers for seats on sale ..Mid october is prime day, so amazon then..Probably get something for$10-20.
  16. thanks for the additional info.. I've toyed with the idea of doing some videos, but I'm not the most...camera ready of indivisuals...so I've thought some thing animated might be a way to go, so this piqued my interest.
  17. as long as your expectations are set correctly, yes. These are the stats of the MacBookPro I'm using right now, and browsing and youtube is pretty much what I use it for these days. Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Speed: 2.2 GHz Number of Processors: 1 Total Number of Cores: 2 L2 Cache: 4 MB Memory: 4 GB Bus Speed: 800 MHz
  18. No, but there would be some kind of reconcileation process. At some number of bad chips, there's a penalty or discount or something..the contracts would have set guarantees and penaltees for missing those..
  19. I've played with it a bit, experimenting on enlarging pictures so they could be printed as posters....It's very much GIGO...if you start with a high quality image, it does a nice job of giving you te image bigger, thru playing around with sharpness and blur settings...but it's not a magic CSI enhance program.
  20. It's 2020...we're all about to die. Drive seems a bit loud to me...but that's likely a function of the video.
  21. Yes...thank you for the history lesson..I wouldn't have said Disney invented it...they did the multi-pane camera I recall, but it's been 30 years since I studied animation history so my memory of disney and rotoscoping is likely wrong...and there's digital rotoscoping done today...and none of which helps me learn more about what's happening with these virtual youtubers or what's it about or how to do it..
  22. Lots of legit uses for mega...lots of not legit uses for it. Like with most things in the cyber world, if you don't know what you're doing, you might not want to do it.
  23. This feels very unfair. While I have taken issue with some undisclosed biases with their editorial stances and reporting, that's a far cry from this kind of statement. Do you have examples you can point to? ------------- Something I'm curious about is... why does it matter to people if something is a sponsered video or not? I don't mean as in if a review was sponsored so you can't trust it... I mean the "I'll watch the review post, but not the screwing around and gaming with it hype post"...maybe cuz I just watch the stuff while doing other things, and it's part of just occupuying my mind on the endless death march that is 2020, and I'm not all harcore tech like some folks here are, but I just watch the videos, not really look at a "Oh, this one will give me the answers I seek"...I thought the LG paid for "look at our virtual convention" was a really cool video cuz it was sort of hanging out with someone looking at neat stuff, rather than just dry presentation". shurg...
  24. the new TVos just added that as a feature...might be realted?
