  1. The list he gave you isn't a list at all. He didn't link correctly so what youre seeing is the last list YOU made on pcpartpicker.
  2. I think you missed the point of my message.
  3. Do you care about the .02 cents worth of power your computer is going to use in those 15-30 minutes? you shouldn't...so yea, just leave it on.
  4. What random EVGA power supply? Good companies can make shitty products, and brand doesn't matter as much as the specific model number.
  5. DDR2 is an old memory standard, SSD is for data storage. Please provide more info on the system because the 2 are not comparable... But yes, an SSD always makes thing better
  6. I was a huge fan of the cod franchise. MW1, BO, MW2, BO2, and then MW3 is where it started losing me. I bought ghosts, and hated the multiplayer. The campaign wasn't all that engaging either so I never finished it. Never got AW or IW since the whole mech warrior thing wasn't what I wanted out of a COD game. I always used to play the campaign fully through before touching the multiplayer, but the newer titles (pretty much anything after BO2) made me totally not want to play the game. The only part of the cod games I still enjoy is doing some splitscreen zombies with friends.
  7. Check whether you have any network prioritization software installed on your computer. The MSI software could have something like this without you having explicitly enabled it. Also, it is possible the fact that you're hosting the server may cause random performance spikes. I do not have any experience with minecraft specifically.
  8. Not sure if you are referring to dark souls or dead space. Either way, the answer is most definitely not.
  9. Just took a look at the manual for your mobo and it requires a flashback card in order to do bios flashback. This is something that apparently no one on the internet has seen either. So yea, the pcper article is totally BS and Asus is using some shady marketing to advertise a feature that doesn't exist.
  10. Depends on where you buy it from. Amazon is really good about returns. Just be like "i thought it was right for my mobo but wasn't" if they ask for a reason.
  11. If you aren't ready to do a big upgrade (new cpu mobo and ram) then that should be a pretty worthwhile upgrade for you.
  12. The best GPU for you is whatever the best one you can afford is. Your 4770k will not bottleneck any GPU more than any other CPU.
  13. If your SATA mode is set to ATA or RAID, try changing it to AHCI, or vice versa. If you are on windows 7 still, make sure that CSM is enabled and set to legacy, as well as secure boot being off.
  14. I mean I could provide you links, but that means that I'm gonna go to my youtube, find linustechtips and then search for "painting" and then look through the results. I think you are more than capable of doing this yourself.
  15. After updating, did you go bash into the bios and change all the settings back to how they were before the update? most of the time updating your bios will reset everything as well. The important ones are SATA operation mode (AHCI, RAID, ATA) and CSM and secure boot settings.
  16. Yea, then there's a good chance you brokened (its a word ok) more than just the usb2 ports.... GL.
  17. Linus has made videos about this. I recommend you watch them first before proceeding.
  18. hmmm, then plugging something into the port shouldn't affect the KB at all. The only thing I will recommendd then is to plug them into usb 2 ports instead. Sometimes devices glitch out when using USB 3 ports.
  19. Their enterprise/server stuff is ok. Their consumer and even business class stuff is total garbage.
  20. Ultrawide 1440p has a LOT more pixels than a 16:9 1440p panel. A 1070 can run most games at pretty high framerates (approaching or exceeding 100), but I wouldn't expect it to behave as well with an ultrawide.
  21. Does the KB have a USB passthrough or a hub? As in do 2 cables plug into your mobo from it or just one?
  22. Well regardless of how old the laptop is, a BIOS update: 1. never hurts to do (it probably didn't ship with the latest bios on it) 2. Shouldn't affect whether or not a game launches, but worth trying anyway if that's what the support guys said. If that doesn't work, try looking online for some other ideas. Literally go and google "a required security module can not be activated" and you will find quite a few forum posts with people having the same problem in various games. Seems to have to do with using daemon tools or other drive emulation software most of the time.
