  20. Hello everyone. I thought I would share my ideas for my upcoming build and see what you all think. This computer is going to be my main setup. The machine is not going to be finished at once. Tight budget restrain me from going all out at once. I'm currently in my second year of film school. The main use of this PC is going to be video editing, 3D and animation rendering and heavy duty productivity. I'm a heavy multitasker; I can work on 3 chrome windows, each containing at least 10-15 tabs, and downloading a raw video file, all that while watching a movie. Gaming is not a priority; I play casually once every now and then. My budget for the initial parts is 1000-1500$. since I already own a monitor and peripherals, the parts listed below are only for the case. For now I'm down to two builds, the only difference between them is the platform; Haswell and Ivy Bridge-e. Build 1: CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor CPU Cooler: Corsair H60 74.4 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Motherboard: MSI Z87-G45 Gaming ATX LGA1150 Motherboard Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory X2 Boot Drive: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive X2 Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 2GB Video Card Power Supply: Corsair CX 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply Build 2: CPU: Intel Core i7-4820K 3.7GHz Quad-Core Processor CPU Cooler: Corsair H60 74.4 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Motherboard: Asus P9X79 LE ATX LGA2011 Motherboard Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory X2 Boot Drive: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive X2 Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 2GB Video Card Power Supply: Corsair CX 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply Thoughts and suggestions are welcome.
